Iztuzu in North Tyneside

Auf unserem England Trip war es bislang nicht einfach gesundes vegetarisches Essen zu bezahlbaren Preisen zu finden. Hier wurden wir positiv überrascht: 1. Wir bekamen einen Tisch, obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten und das Restaurant voll war 2. Die vegetarische Auswahl umfasste 4 oder 5 verschiedene Hauptspeisen. Wir bestellten ein Vegetarisches Güvec für 15,95 GBP und einen Falafel Teller für 14,95 GBP, dazu Oliven (6,95) und Naanbrot (2,95). Ich hatte das Güvec und war positiv überrascht: Es wurde wirklich viel Gemüse verwendet, die Knoblauch-Tomatensauce war abgerundet und dazu gab es türkischen Reis und alles wurde frisch zubereitet. Mein Freund hatte einen Falafel Teller mit Falafel-Bällchen auf Hummus und viele knusprige Ofenkartoffeln. Obwohl wir schon von den Hauptgerichten sehr voll waren, konnten wir die Finger nicht von den Oliven und dem Naan-Brot lassen, alles wurde gegessen🍽️ Dazu war das Personal auch noch superfreundlich, gut gelaunt und das Essen wurde trotz der anderen Gäste relativ zügig gebracht. Vielen Dank für diese gute Mahlzeit und ein schönes Erlebnis🫶

Had a fantastic meal on Saturday, two young girls serving were very friendly and engaging, we had hummus with lamb to start and a huge sharing grill the meat was amazing and perfectly cooked. Our first visit to Iztuzu. We only popped in for a quick coffee, but we quickly decided to stay for a light lunch & we weren't disappointed. Very friendly welcome. Attentive & efficient service throughout. The Turkish coffee was excellent. My wife had asked for a glass of water &, as an example of the level of service provided, two glasses of iced water with lemon wedges were served along with the coffee. The food was delicious. My wife's prawn dish was exceptionally good, complemented with some delicious Turkish flat breads. We felt obliged to share a baklava, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We'll look forward to returning to Iztuzu next time we get to Tynemouth.

Booked for 4 people but they happily added on another 2 for us. All the food choices were excellent, everyone enjoyed the food a lot. Waiters were very friendly & professional. Would definitely return.

Came with a couple of friends after being recommended to us. Great spot in Tynemouth just a jump away from the beach. Absolutely delicious food and huge portions. We washed it down with the Turkish red wine. To be honest, you don't get to hear great tunes at most middle eastern restaurants so KUDOS to that.

Having visited several times now, I brought a friend a long to try. What can I say! She loved everything about Iztuzu! From the fresh sharing Hot Mezze Platter to the Iztuzu Sharing Platter, the food is absolutely delicious! With a little wait between courses, the meat was super fresh and juicy…perfect service for this type of food! The manager Hakim always goes above and beyond with us and creates a perfect atmosphere for a perfect meal. Special mention to the waiter T who gives faultless service every visit. An impressive visit yet again Iztuzu, thank you!

Visited restaurant with hubby. Requested a 15 minute gap between courses when ordering but my main dish was brought as soon as my starter was finished. I explained I had requested 15 min gap and the waiter said ok and took it away. It was immediately brought back by another saying they could not offer a gap and it would go cold so I needed to take it. I was still full from my hummus starter and bread so most was wasted. In addition to this 9.20 for a glass of house wine seems on the excessive side.

Went for a family meal.All the meals we had were of the highest standard. The mixed grill I had was probably the best I have had including restaurants in Turkey. It was reasonably priced with a good selection of drinks. All in all an excellent meal with great service.

We went along last minute for food and they got us straight in despite being so busy. The service from start to finish was amazing the girl who served ha scarlet she had only been there two days and you wouldn’t think it at all her service was immaculate so friendly! Couldn’t fault the food everything was perfect and all the people in there are so welcoming from the minute you walk in until you leave what a lovely place to be can’t wait to go back

We had an outstanding meal at Iztuzu today after stopping for an impromptu lunch. I'd go so far as to say it was the best Turkish meal I've had in this country! The portions were generous, and delicious, with fresh ingredients used; the service was spot on with all waiters/waitresses indulging of our two children and our dietary requirements were well-catered for. Everything was full of flavour. We are already looking forward to going back!!

I have visited this restaurant with my friends and family and have enjoyed it on every occasion. The food is of high quality and full of flavour, with waiters that were more than willing to recommend us dishes / wines. The wine and cocktail selection is also very impressive. This is the perfect spot after a quick visit to the beach or a lovely dinner experience.

Outstanding quality and great value. Can’t wait to go back. Was told they do their butchery in house aswell, which really shines through on the quality of the meat.

Not good at all , ordered chicken kebab it was very bland no onion no pepper on the kebab , small amount of bland rice came with it also small salad which appeared straight out of a cheap Morrisons salad bag ! We had been looking forward to coming for a few weeks. But we’re hugely disappointed and won’t be returning as there are better and more authentic Turkish restaurants in the area. We found the prices to be hugely inflated for what we got. Maybe the prices are reflective of the restaurant be based in Tynemouth? We drink Raki but this was not on the drinks menu. We asked if they sold it and the reply was “yes”, we asked what kind it was to be told “ I don’t know, there is only one kind isn’t there??”. We had to then ask the waiter to find out. We ordered the raki with a bottle of water. The water came to the table opened, however it was not opened in front of us so we sent it back for a fresh one. The food arrived and it was ok, mediocre. No problems with the food but not blown away either. Especially for the price. When the bill came to the table we checked over it to find 2 x pints of Madri added to the bill when none of the party had been drinking this. That was an extra £12. We spoke to a member of staff and it was removed. All in all, we found the staff to be unfriendly, unwelcoming and uninformed.

I came here with my family as I had heard from my friend’s it’s meant to be a nice place to eat. The food was fantastic I will 100% be coming again. I also got to meet some of the owners who were really polite.
