This was my 3rd visit to Chaophraya leeds but our first two were over 5 years ago. It seems to have changed quite a bit. I was celebrating my birthday and had brought a cake with me which I had to ask a passing waiter to take when we were sat down at our table as nobody had thought to take it before then. Chaophraya used to do a birthday song/march which they must not do anymore but I didn’t get happy birthday sang either. The server just put the cake on the table, said happy birthday and walked away. There were two candles and sparklers but the candles had blown out while he was walking over so I had nothing to blow out. My family sang happy birthday after he had walked away while we waited for the sparkler to go out. I was also under the impression that people celebrating birthdays are given a free dessert but I wasn’t offered one. The food was nice but the lamb massaman curry wasn’t as nice as it used to be. The rice used to come in a banana leaf which was a nice touch but doesn’t anymore. My son had noodles with beef from the childrens menu but the only piece of beef he tried he spat out. I tried a piece and it was very fatty and chewy. Overall, it was a mediocre experience and not worth the price tag. I definitely wouldn’t choose here for a special occasion again.

Food was ok but the service was terrible honestly. We had a reservation but waited in the doorway for 20-30 minutes just to get a table abd although we were there during the happy hour, because we didn't place the order before the happy hour ended, they didn't want to give us the Happy Hour offer. It's disappointing because the reason why we couldn't place the order quicker is exactly their poor table management. I won't rush back for sure!

Service was good, but the place was very cold, food was a bit cold as well and tbh mediocre compared other Thai food, I have had excellent meals here in the past. Sweetcorn fritters had hardly any sweetcorn and the prawn cracker portion was small. I know food prices have increased but so have restaurant prices. Shame, hopefully things will improve.

So this is about the 3rd time I have been here over a few months, so overdue for a review. Preston Street has great deal of options for restaurants , but this is getting to be the “go to” for Thai! Service always a very pleasant experience. Food - the important bit - is always very good . ( yes I have seen some older reviews - but I have not been to Thailand so can’t comment on authenticity !) Latest visit included the sizzling duck - see pic - highly recommended . Give it a try !

The Forester is a great location to meet friends or family. The bars are cosy and the restaurant serves amazing Thai food all week except Sundays when the kitchen serves up an amazing carvery. Awesome selection of beers, wines and spirits

Beautiful restaurant with wonderful staff. A great menu with plenty of choices. I've only eaten Thai food a handful of times previously so don't have any real comparisons to this cuisine. Our food was beautifully presented and delicious. Staff were on hand, but discretely so and totally professional. We would definitely return. It would be nice if the lighting were a little dimmer, but that's only my personal preference and no reflection on the overall enjoyment of our evening.

Disappointing. The food was very mediocre. Nit inedible, but lacking any real taste and flavour. My butterfly prawn starter was bland, not real prawn flavour. Seemed to be from frozen, not freshly prepared. My weeping tiger main had three chilli's next to it on the menu, but on arrival and tasting, had none actually in it. I sent it back and declined a replacement. It was taken off the bill though. My companions' food was equally poor to average. Waiting staff attitude was that they were there only as a favour, and that was resented. I would not recommend this place. Go to Thai Corner in town instead.
