Best Thai restaurant in Ipswich, excellent quality, incredible flavours, beautiful dish presentations, lovely decor, very relaxed and calming to dine in. I especially appreciate how they will tweak dishes to accommodate my dairy and soya intolerances. Attentive service that is not intrusive, I have dined there a few times now and never left disappointed, finding myself craving the lamb massaman with a glass of Merlot in between!

A hidden gem! I thought there was no authentic Thai in Ipswich but this place proved me wrong. Red Thai curry and salads are exactly how I expected them to be. Everything we ate was delicious and good value. The owner/ manager is lovely and always very welcoming. A young gentleman working with him is attentive and very polite. It’s our second time here and we will return again! This is my go to place for Thai in Ipswich now.

Pleasant atmosphere with a good selection of vegan options. Had the sweet and sour tofu.

Friendly staff. Clean restaurant. The prawn crackers were the cheap versions. Pad thai was tasty. Food came out quickly and hot. Recommended.

Really excellent food, takes us right back to Thailand! Resturant owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, one of the best places to eat in Ipswich.

Absolutely shocking experience, waiter and waitress, one didn't speak the other was incoherent, playing some Thai music and a couple of Thai themed pictures on the wall seems to fall short of either being a full on Thai restaurant or some sort of version of it, post modern, if that's the way they're going, then they must try harder much harder

Vibrant flavours and generous portions, with a varied menu. Service was friendly and efficient. I would have preferred it a couple of degrees warmer, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I understand the cost of heating a large establishment with very few people in is not sustainable. A few more people would have added a bit more atmosphere as it was a quiet service, but I guess that's the time of year. The big question - would I go again? - Yes.

Really tasty food with easy vegan and vegetarian options. A lovely bottle of NZ sauvignon blanc - Torrents Bay. Singha beer and Guinness on tap. We had the veggie set meal made gluten free too. Great service too. 3 course meal for 2 cost just under £50 plus drinks.

Very good time with friends spent in this restaurant. The prices were cheaper than the rooftops, the food was quite nice, the view impressive and the staff very friendly. I will come back. 😉

Friendly staff and spacious dining room but food was very average. BBQ spare ribs were fatty and with no BBQ sauce and main dishes had very little meat in them but were fairly tasty. Duck spring rolls however were pretty good.

Cozy restaurent offering thai dishes, loved the food but the fishcakes are a must try. Sadly they did not have thai lemon tea available that day. However the food was presented very nicely, the staff were friendly and the place was clean and had a nice atmosphere.

Have been to this Restaurant previously and decided to revisit. Went at 6pm on Wednesday evening, Restaurant totally empty, as we normally order 3/4 main course dishes asked to sit at table for 4 were told had to sit at table for2 !!!, needless to say we left and went elsewhere.

So many great vegan options. It's always nice to go somewhere that does tofu well. Really really delicious.

Came across this lovely Thai on our one night in Ipswich. Ordered 6 dishes for 4 people. All the dishes were very good and very reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere. I would come back again if stayed longer. Thoroughly recommend.

I've lived in Thailand for many years and I thought the food was excellent. Will definitely be going back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bangkok Heights, a delightful Thai restaurant nestled in the heart of Ipswich. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was captivated by the inviting ambience and the tantalizing aroma of authentic Thai cuisine. I decided to try the Prawn Pad Thai, and I must say it was an absolute delight.If you're in Ipswich and craving authentic Thai cuisine, I highly recommend paying a visit to Bangkok Heights.

We were looking for authentic Thai cuisine as we had been to Thailand and loved the food. What a find this restaurant is, we were so impressed with everything from the setting, to the staff and most importantly the food which was absolutely spot on. Pretty poor. . . Filthy mirror, playing accordion music, waiter was a student who obviously hasn’t been trained (we thought it was his first night but he’s been there 18 months). Starter was nice, but mains came out on cold plates and burners didn’t keep anything hot. Our friends main had chicken that was so cold she thought it had come straight out of the fridge, her Massaman curry had to be reheated and her chicken rice dish replaced. Our green curry was acceptable but our other chicken dish was cold. Came back reheated, but had been microwaved (as confirmed by the manager) . . . yuk! Manager/owner didn’t seem to care. Needless to say we won’t be returning and now understand why the place was almost empty.

Would give it 0 stars if I could. £120 on food that would have fed not even 2 people. Dishes are seriously tiny and a rip off. Took our order back down to the restaurant to be told it’s Deliveroo’s problem - the problem wasn’t with delivery! Staff were rude, shrugged their shoulders and didn’t even attempt to rectify the issue. Poor service, food and will never return again. Should have read the reviews!

Great food in a lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. All dishes contained lots fresh vegetables and were very well presented. Would recommend ordering extra rice to soak up the delicious sauces from the curry's. Don't be scared by the spice ratings on the menu. My mum and brother don't do spicey food but both said the Red Curry was not too spicy for them (two chillies).

We went to Bangkok heightz for dinner in sat 7th jan, and as before, the food was exceptional. We had set menu for two (when compared to the rest of the menu, it offers very good value). The mixed starters were delicious,  some of the best satay chicken I've had in England, and its worth going back for the Tom yum soup alone, as this was on a par with anything we have had in Thailand. The mains are well thought out, with a creamy red prawn curry, a tasty sweet and sour chicken, and a hot and sour beef kraprow balancing each other.. We also had desserts of banana fritters and coconut pancakes which were also delicious, and we plan to come back in summer for the mango sticky rice. The restaurant is, however let down by the service. We counted 4 people working the floor, and there were no more than 10 tables. We noticed that other tables had complimentary prawn Crackers on arrival, yet we had to ask for ours. With the starters, we requested additional sauces,  and had to ask 3 separate waiters before they finally arrived, a just in time for the final couple of bites. I was also saddened to see that the drinks menu no longer had Chang beer on it , but they were able to serve it on request. There were long delays between courses, and no checkbacks once the food was served. We also had to request the bill a couple of times, as when we asked the first waitress, she said OK, and then went and cleared another table, then disappeared, never to be seen again! Finally, the most ridiculous thing was that the table next to us were declined a dessert as the kitchen was closed.This was at 9:30 on a Saturday night! Very surprising as desserts generally tend to be the least effort and highest profit margins, particularly when the majority are either made in advance, or bought in. The banana fritters were clearly made fresh, but as the coconut pancakes were served chilled, I'm guessing not. On the whole, an average experience. We will be going back, as we wholeheartedly recommend the food, we just hope that the service improves. Oh and it would be nice to see Chang on the drinks menu, just to be made aware of the (reasonable) price before ordering.

This is an excellent Thai restaurant. A great menu selection of great food and very friendly staff. It's our go to for Thai

Friday 16 Decr 32 This evening I ordered sweet and sour chicken which arrived 15 minutes late, cold and without any Bell peppers of Pineapple as advertised! I tried calling the restaurant to correct this but they kept hanging up or not answering. Disappointing service and poor quality takeaway.

We ate at Bangkok Heightz this evening and had an excellent meal. The food was all well flavoured and tasted very fresh. It was a quiet night in the restaurant and the service was great. Would definitely recommend.

Having never had thai food before, We are very impressed by the service and for the fantastic food that was so delicious and our plates where left empty. We wouldn't have gone here before except it was a gift from our friends, but will be returning asap Thank you to the staff and friend's it was so great can't wait to return again

Lovely food and the prices are reasonable, would not be going to Colchester for Thai anymore. The only reason I have 4 stars is that it was cold when we were there and the heating was not working. They brought in portable heaters just as we were leaving

This had some good reviews but sadly should have taken more notice of the negatives. Dishes were tiny. 100 pound on food alone and walked out like we'd eaten a starter. Such a shame. 15 pound for a dish anywhere else would be filling enough for one person. 15 pounds here gets you a couple of spoons.

I live in Thailand and just need to say that this is exactly the way dishes are prepared and served in Thailand. This is not 'authentic' Thai food; this IS Thai food. First class!

Ordered a Thai green curry and sticky rice both were literally half portions compared to other Thai restaurants. Also ordered a mixed starter plater which cost £18.60 and was miniature to say the least, portions extra Very very very small for the money. Although the standard of food was good it’s hard to justify the money given the small portion size.

Service was slow. The portions were tiny, the vegetarian share starter consisted of many pieces of oily batter. The pad Thai smelt weirdly of wet dog and when my husband complained we were simply told that it was the most popular dish they sold! I wouldn't go back or recommend. Go to the Thai restaurant on St Nicholas Street. It's much nicer.

Visited with friends last night and were once again treated to an authentic tasting and varied Thai meal. Excellent service as usual. The price of the set menu is reasonable and gives a nice variety of flavoursome courses, all cooked and presented beautifully as is typical of Thai restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and will be back soon.

Had a lovely evening here with my partner. The staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome. The decor is lovely and the atmosphere is intimate. The food was all delicious and there is a great range of vegetarian options. The wine is also moderately priced. Would definitely recommend and I wished I lived nearby so I could visit often!

I get takeaways mostly, but have enjoyed the experience and food when dining with friends.

We visited with 7 friends for my birthday on a Friday evening and really enjoyed the evening. There's a great selection of Thai dishes, everything was cooked fresh and tasted amazing. There is a good choice of vegetarian options and they can adapt the dishes for vegan. They made us feel very welcome and although the service was a little slow (I think they had only a few staff) they looked after us well. The homemade Thai desserts were delicious (I had the coconut pancakes) and would definitely recommend! Thankyou for a wonderful meal, iwill be coming back again!

Love coming here, it's midpoint between us and our friends so have met up here twice for a catch up and a very decent meal, because we love the food. Great atmosphere too and reasonably priced.

I came here for a quick dinner on a Thursday and had a delicious chicken massaman curry - it was as delicious as one I had while visiting Thailand. Great service too, I will definitely come back if I am in Ipswich again.

This is simply one of the best Thai restaurants we have eaten at. Unbelievable flavours, great presentation and attentive service. Cannot fault anything at all. Ipswich needs Restuarants like this and they need our support! Can’t wait to return and try the amazing menu. First rate!!

Best authentic Thai food in town.. great service and prices!

I have visited Bangkok Heightz twice in the last fortnight. On each occasion the restaurant has had surprisingly few customers, perhaps because of its location which means it doesn't attract as much passing trade as similar establishments in other streets so relies on bookings. It certainly deserves to be full! I have been warmly welcomed, and the food has been excellent. The starter selection makes a fine first course, and there is a super variety of dishes to choose from as mains. The Lamb Mussaman curry was our favourite on the second visit, but we have been pleased with all our choices. The restaurant has a high ceiling which means it's easy to hear one another, and the tables are well spaced which is obviously a good thing in these strange times. I will certainly be back before long.

I ordered a takeaway Thai Red curry & peppered squid with prawn crackers. from this restaurant. The red curry sauce was very watery. Chicken flavourless & not cooked through properly. Crackers tasteless & very bland. The salt & black pepper squid batter was greasy & tasted horrible. Frankly, the Thai Red Curry I could have bought from Sainsbury, Tesco or even Aldi would have been nicer & cost 2/3 less! This will be my first and last order from this restaurant.

The best takeaway by far, super tasty, we've stopped eating Chinese takeaway have this now. Takes a while to cook but so worth the wait.

I've been here 3 or 4 times now and every time the food and service has been great. The only thing that surprises me is that mid-week it's very quiet and I wonder if no-one knows about this little gem of a restaurant. I think its very reasonably priced, the food is tasty and well presented and the staff are efficient and attentive without being invasive. I certainly recommend you visit here.

It's a bit of a pain to reach, being alongside a very fast moving dual carriageway, but is well worth the effort. Lovely ambience and excellent food and service A tad more expensive that the norm, but I think worth it. Highly recommended.

We had a takeaway delivered this evening and although there was a bit of a wait it was worth waiting for. Everything we had from the sharing starter, the red thai chicken curry, the spicy beef and sweet and sour chicken were all equally satisfying. We will definitely order a takeaway from here again.

When we found Bangkok Heightz, we were the only people in there to begin with and couldn’t believe our luck! Quiet, service and restaurant all to ourselves and to top it off the food was delicious! Visiting for dinner for the first time, we were impressed by almost everything. The surroundings are classy. The staff are lovely. The food is excellent and nicely presented. We did, however, feel that the portions were just a little on the small side, particularly in relation to the starters. However, it was a lovely experience, which we shall, no doubt, repeat. We recommend that you give this restaurant a visit!

Food and service was good. An error in my order was quickly and efficiently corrected. A bottle of water, two starters, two mains with rice and a single dessert came to a little over £43, which we consider to be a very fair price for the meal.

We were really looking forward to this, as we all like Thai food. Unfortunately the food was not very good quality at all and bland. Some dishes were not correct and one of us had a main that had to be sent back. A few of us also felt sick after, not a good experience.

First visit to Ipswich town had a good walk around the quay area and decided to book a Thai meal that evening as my auntie has never eaten in a Thai restaurant only cooked her own. Had a nice mix starters which was good, for main had fish Choo chee, duck tamarind, chicken pad Thai and beef Penang curry. I enjoyed the meal and service was good and my auntie thoroughly enjoyed it as she was concerned early on as she suffers from coeliac and was a little worried on the gluten free front. But all in all a very good value for money meal and no issues with my aunt.

What a lovely place this is. Clean and tidy restaurant, freshly prepared food and incredible value for money; 2 courses at lunchtime for less than £10. You really need to give this a try...my friends and I will be returning. Fab-u-lous!

Love Thai food, love this place very elegant and sophisticated. Kinda place you would go on a date, meat dishes could be less fatty. Good value for money and variety to choose from. Could do with some pictures on the menu. Under new management used to come here before it was called Bangkok Heightz.

I can't get enough of the Thai food here, it's my favourite in Ipswich. If we don't visit the restaurant then I will often order from here on Deliveroo. Absolutely delicious!

The best food I've eaten in Ipswich for years. We had a stunning meal. The flavours were authentic Thai and each dish so beautifully presented. The staff were helpful, quietly attentive and made it a lovely experience. Wonderful meat, fish or vegetarian platters for starters to share, and a large range of vegetarian options. Do try it!! After working at an event at Trinity Park, we came here looking for some Thai food and were not disappointed. The Chicken Satay skewers were moist and flavourful and the lamb massaman was tender and well spiced. Would highly recommend.

Noticed that this place was open all Sunday afternoon so being hungry at 5.30 we visited. The service was quick and efficient and the food tasty and spicy. Starter of ribs which were soft; pork dumplings tasty; softshell crab full of meat. Mains were chicken massaman light and delicious; pork and pepper stir fry was just right and the chicken pad was very spicy. Excellent meal and a pleasant experience at a good price
