Very attentive service, huge choice and amazingly tasty Thai red curry. Accommodation was clean, tidy and the continental breakfast and fruit were well chosen. Portable air conditioning unit supplied too.

Absolutely beautiful food. We had a variety of dishes but our favourites were Mie grob and beef panang. Good service and delicious meal.

Stopped for lunch which was really lovely. We had mixed starters and curries for main which were all beautifully presented and tasted fabulous. Such a pretty property with lovely outside areas. The young bar staff lads were very helpful and accommodating. Such a shame we don’t live closer as we would definitely have returned.

Stopped at the Hamilton Arms for 1 night. Amazing accommodation! Great staff in the pub and lovely cuisine.. I stop away once a week for buisness across the country and this is one place I will definitely be stopping at again if in the area or near it!

Club Deputy Chairman and friends returned to this cracker of a venue on a sunny bank holiday weekend, having not visited for several years. It’s off the beaten track but is a well-known and reputable pub and restaurant which has been there for many years, clearly renovated in recent times with an accommodation block at the rear. It was quite busy for a Friday night but which had no detrimental effect on the service which was very friendly and not hurried, and all the staff were very knowledgeable about the menu ingredients. Starters were large, especially the mixed starter and the roast rib of pork. Very good portion sizes for the mains too and our table enjoyed pork, chicken, and tofu dishes, with a variety of rice and noodle sides. The stir fried pak choy and Thai style belly pork with crushed garlic was exceptional. Highly recommended and will definitely be returning soon - IC

My wife and I called here for lunch with no reservation and with our large dog. We were not disappointed being welcomed inside despite the wet & smelly K9. We ordered from the Thai set menu with a good value price of around £9 per course. I had chicken red curry and my wife, vegetarian rice noodles. The food was very nice and plentiful. There was a nice, comfortable atmosphere and plenty of parking. We will definitely come again and try the dinner a la carte menu next.

Absolute treat. We stayed in one of their beautiful guest rooms which was clean, bright and modern. Wonderful Thai food for dinner, so good we stayed for lunch the next day.

This place is a hidden treasure and offers the very best Thai cuisine I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Staff are lovely, the restaurant is quirky and authentic to its history, yet tucked in a local pub. I'll never get board of this place and is worth the commute from Portsmouth to Stedham each time (once a month). Love love love it!

We have eaten here several times during the week and for the Sunday lunch. Everyone has been impressed by the tasty food and swift service.

An early dinner (7 o'clock) so restaurant was quite quiet. However service was polite and efficient and the food was an absolute delight. Chose a set menu for two and frankly each dish was tasty and well presented and more than enough for two people. A really pleasant experience.

We have stayed outside in our Motorhome several times and always had an amazing authentic Thai meal. We have always found the service and food superb. The locals are very friendly too.

We had takeaway from the Hamilton Arms for the first time. Experienced Thai palette from Australia ordered the Tom Kah chicken soup, spring rolls, Beef Massaman curry and Roast Duck Red Curry with rice. The food was fresh, vibrant, full of flavour, generous portions and could not imagine anyone being disappointed. We are local and will return.

Stayed at The Hamilton Arms as I had to be in the area early the next morning. The place was surprisingly busy for an early Tuesday evening. Not so busy that people didn't make time for me though- one kind customer insisted I be served before him as I was a female on her own- old fashioned chivalry alive and kicking & greatly appreciated. I ordered a bottle of wine which arrived with ice bucket and stand. My chicken satay was truly the freshest tasting I've ever had. It came with both a peanut sauce (obviously) but also a cucumber dip which was gorgeous. 4 skewers - it would almost have served as a main course. My main was equally delicious, a pork sweet and sour dish which I had with coconut rice. Nothing like a typical sweet & sour orange sticky thing- this was delicate, mild sweet and again, so so fresh. I was served by all the staff, the tall lad from behind the bar, & 2 of the owners, all of whom passed the time of day, shared a joke or a smile which made a solo meal far more of a pleasure than it might have been. Again as I was leaving (clutching my glass & half full bottle of wine) other customers chatted to me about the new accommodation, which I was happy to tell them was as good as the food. My lodge was spotless with beautiful wood flooring, a TV with more than 2 channels (!) & a sumptuous walk in shower. The water was HOT and plentiful, the bed so cosy I went out like a light. Breakfast was delivered the evening before- a pretty picnic basket with fruit juice, milk yoghurt, cereals & croissants- yes, there's a fridge too. The lodge is light, airy, spacious with some lovely touches- tasteful prints on the wall, spa toiletries in the shower. If I had to be VERY picky my beautiful bedside lamps didn't work (they look brand new so maybe not connected yet) but that's not enough to detract from a 5 star review

I cannot write about the food…reading other comments it would appear to Be good…the pub part though,I can honestly say is the worst by a country mile that I have been in for years…. We felt completely uncomfortable as soon as we walked through the door and struggled to be heard when ordering the drinks over the rowdiness of the locals.The pub looks run down and uncared for. Do yourself a favour and give this a miss … leave it for the locals and travel a short distance to Midhurst where there are plenty of better options! Trust me , you’ll thank me for the advice

Camper a stopover at The Hamilton arms and wow! Fabulous Thai food! Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend! Car park not huge but plenty of space for a few camper vans!

We haven't visited for a couple of years, but so glad we have been back. We were made very welcome and the decoration has been updated. Looks great, and very touching photo of the late Queen. The food was amazing, and beautifully presented as we remembered it. Satay chicken and ribs, followed by Thai red curry and garlic beef, with coconut rice. Portion sizes were great and full of flavour. You must visit this independent Thai restaurant rather than the chain ones

Food absolutely excellent. The pub next door is best forgotten, so take an abrupt right turn on entering to escape into the restaurant. Although the service was perfunctory the kitchen buzzed with activity and hats off to the chef for delivering the best thing about the place - delicious thai dishes. The loud phone ringing and equally loud taking of take away orders provides the atmosphere. Seems like most of the energy goes into that side of the business, at the expense of the restaurant which is a shame. If there was a great front of house and the pub boozers kept at bay this could become the restaurant the food deserves. As it is I will join the queue of takeaway orders next time.

We love Thai food and our guests weren’t 100% sure as they had never tried it before ... They loved it and will be back for the buffets! The prawns were huge and so fresh! Everything was done to perfection! The limoncello desert was amazing, the ice creams were superb and the deserts were unique and so well presented Since we are staying on site at the Hamilton Arms, we are so glad this wonderful restaurant is literally a 1 minute walk away! Wonderful service, great setting and terrific staff!

I am never disappointed with the Thai food served here, its delicious! I have eaten here for lunch and dinner and it's a deservedly popular place even though its off the beaten track.

My partner booked this for our anniversary- somewhere we had seen before and saved for a special occasion. Had an amazing meal, good service and drinks. Stayed there for the night and wow. Lovely, modern, very clean, really surpassed expectations. Recommended highly. Maybe we will have to come back next year.

Ignore the out of date negative reviews! The food here is fab. We came across it after encountering problems finding somewhere to eat & stay after an early evening ferry docking in Portsmouth. We could park overnight in our r motorhome too. I hope the photos speak for themselves……

Had 2 takeaways from here whilst we were staying in Stedham. Both times the food was excellent, recommend the chicken satay, green chicken curry and the stir fried chicken with chilli and basil. Generous portions too.

We found this lovely little place with an identity crisis whilst driving around looking for some lunchtime pub grub. Thai food was the only thing on offer so we each opted for the Thai curry. What a lovely surprise. The food was delicious, you can tell it was made with fresh ingredients. Everything was spotlessly clean, the host was genial and welcoming, and it’s a shame that we were just passing through. I would have loved to try their restaurant one evening.

Delicious, tasty flavoursome dishes in a country pub within walking distance of Iping and Steadham Common Nature Reserve. Quick service and authentic dishes with very obliging waiting staff. We are looking forward to a return visit.

My wife Louise and I visited the restaurant while staying over in our Motorhome and had quite simply the best Thai meal either of us have ever experienced. My wife had a red Thai curry (not hot) and I had the green curry (hot) and we both agreed the curries were amazing! Tasty, and the ingredients were fresh and cooked perfectly; that much was obvious since my wife is vegetarian and it’s very easy to tell when you have been a vegetarian for a while. Our starters were equally amazing. I had a soup and I wish I could remember what it was ...again, it was superb. Louise had vegetables in a super-light batter - she loved it. I’ve only had Thai food on a few previous occasions and if this is typical then I’ve missed out! The restaurant is dog friendly, which is great. The pub next door isn’t, so we had our pre-meal drinks on the restaurant side and outside.The restaurant had a lovely ambience, and was busy when we were there, with a mix of visitors and locals. Finally a word for the staff, all of whom were wonderfully friendly. We both enjoyed talking with them, and the chef clearly takes great pride in his cooking, and so he should. We will be visiting again very soon, despite it not exactly being on our doorstep (living in Portsmouth) ...the food, staff and general ‘feel’ was that good, we think it’s worth the journey.There is a good size car lark at the rear of the building and tables and chairs set immediately outside and also across a very quiet road there are more tables (some under cover) set in front of trees (for shade). When we arrived the staff was very welcoming and friendly. We had got taken to our suite where everything was immaculate, every morning we had been given hampers at our door full of breakfast treats. When we came to the restaurant/pub we had been told it was Thai food and that was something we had never tried before but it was so enjoyable to eat. The atmosphere inside the pub was lively and very bubbly every night that we were here, I would definitely recommend this place

Stayed here in their room suites for 3 nights and ate in the restaurant on the last night. Rooms were clean, well presented and had everything you needed to make it a really comfortable stay. Such a pity: it is no pleasure to write the truth about this pub/restaurant/takeaway. We have used it for its Thai takeaway food and without exception, each time my partner has collected the takeaway, he has had to run the gauntlet of low-level abuse and intimidation by the people drinking there. It's quite extraordinary for a village pub.What is particularly saddening is that the staff know there is a problem and, seemingly, exert little influence to try and contain such 'clients'. Last night, my partner decided that was the last time we would use the place, and the staff member pleaded with him, saying that she had had to tell the drinkers about their behaviour before.... Well, to no effect, apparently. It's like walking into one of those old cowboy saloon bars (in films), where everything goes quiet and the drinkers stare at the 'newcomer'. Unacceptably intimidating and rude. No more. We will not be going there again. Two years is enough.

We love Thai food and have intended to come to the Hamilton Arms Navi Thai for years . Not disappointed! I judge by the prawn Pad Thai and it was excellent as was the mega large prawns in tamarind sauce. Dainty and very flavoursome array in the mixed starters. Pastry on the spring rolls melted in mouth. Thanks to Mr Sunak got the "Eat out to help out" discount and booked for lunch again next week. Will make this one of our favourite restaurants.

Some of the finest, freshest, most flavourful, mouth-watering Thai food I’ve ever eaten - and I’ve had loads over the years. And this food was delivered to my home - any fears I might have had about it ‘not travelling well’ were immediately laid to rest on tasting. Thank you very much indeed.

When you are passing by Midhurst this is a great place to stop off for lunch or dinner. The food is great and not too pricey. We have been coming here with friends and family for the past few years and can say each time that it doesn't disappoint.Warmly recommended!Great place!

Have been meaning to try this place for years as often seen the signs. We arrived on Saturday night after booking a table for two that day. We needed not to book as there were only 4 other people in the restaurant, maybe due to the storm Dennis. No matter, The staff were very friendly and we were shown to our table. We ordered our meals which were set meals and they were excellent. The whole experience was very very good. Will be going back there again.

Went for a valentins dinner with hubby. After chosen our fixed menu we had to wait over half an hour for our starter to come and when it diid came it was cold. Waited for another 40-45 mins for our main. Set meal claimed to be for 2 people but the rice portion was so small and food tasted blend even though we did asked it to be spicy. It did not tasted nothing like the Thai food we have eaten over the years. And by the time the dessert came we were ready to leave the place. Dessert was Chef's surprise and it was 2 small muffins with cream on one and sliced strawberries on the other. As it was a special evening It would've been nice to do something more appealing then that. There was a lot of waiting around between the courses and the people around us seems to look restless too. We were very disappointed with the service and food we had recieved and felt that our evening was less then positive.

We go to the Hamilton Arms at least once a week for a bar snack or meal. The food is always excellent and the staff are very friendly. Plus in the summer you can sit outside in beautiful West Sussex!

I’ve been visiting The Hamilton Arms for many many years or get take outs from them. It’s also a bit of a fixed program that each time I’m in the area I meet up with a dear friend to have dinner there. I must say I’m aware it seems to be a bit of a Marmite place with people either loving of loathing it. I’ve always been in the first group and my loyalties have not swayed, but for the first time I could see the other side a little. It’s undeniable that the ambiance of the pub side of the Arms is in stark contrast to the restaurant and that’s a barrier some people struggle to get past, but I find that silly as the restaurant is fabulous and the take out has always been very efficient. Over several decades I’ve always had very good meals there. I enjoy sharing a mixed starter and then ordering several dishes to share as the main. On this occasion we had a particular prawn dish as part of our selection for the main course which caught me off guard mainly due to the prawns still having the tails on. I’m not squeamish, but in the context of the dish it was the last thing I expected and it rather spoilt it. It may seem silly, but there you go. For me it took the shine off it. Still I’m sure I will return at a later stage when I’m back in the UK to choose differently. The Pad Thai is always a winner here. In general I’ve always enjoyed their large range of freshly made dishes, authentic ambiance and look forward to revisiting.

Everything exceeded our expectations. The Thai food was exceptional and the service outstanding. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The accommodation is spotless, the decor is well thought out and tasteful, the beds truly comfortable. The breakfast hamper extremely substantial. We are definitely planning a return visit in the new year.

A lovely friendly greeting on arriving. A great size room, with a very spacious shower room. Very clean, warm and quiet position. Lovely touch with having the hamper with continental breakfast in. Super food in the pub which was Thai, we ate there both nights of our stay. Would definitely stay again, added bonus very dog friendly.

The food is absolutely superb. The flavours and ingredients are just the best. The people are warm and the restaurant is set in a wonderful old pub in the beautiful location of Stedham in The South Downs. Dog friendly with a nice tables outside and great accommodation in self contained terraced houses at the back. Have held various parties and celebrations with them and they will always go the extra mile and work with you. Just lovely smiling friendly people. Profits from the Restaurant go to the Mudita Trust which prevents child prostitution in Thailand. Not only great eats, but also a good cause.

We stayed one night in a suite at The Hamilton Arms for a friends' wedding in Midhurst. I could not fault the room or the service that we received from the owners - when I turned up exhausted with a crying baby in my arms Eve could not have been kinder or more helpful! Had a great nights' sleep in the huge comfortable bed, the room was spotlessly clean throughout, a lovely spacious shower room in which my baby actually very happily slept while my kids and I all slept in the vast main bedroom / living room (you would need a black out blind for your cot to do this though as there's no blind in the shower!) and very quiet and peaceful. You can also order delicious Thai food from the restaurant / pub on site to be delivered - what more could you want?!

Popped in here for lunch. Very strong Nava Thai menu serving quality food. There is also a board menu from which to choose a more traditional English meal for those who are not keen on Thai cuisine. Food cooked to order and piping hot. All in all, very nice.

Hi all, I made a booking for four of us on the 30th June at 12 noon for the all you can eat Sunday buffet at £12.50 a head.

I’ve been going to the Hamilton Arms for years to have Thai and thoroughly enjoy it. Alas I know friends have had mixed experiences and perhaps walking in through the pub at times does feel a bit awkward and the pub part is not the most appealing ambiance. The Thai food however is great and consistent. Service I think is always very good and I will be sure to return time and time again. It’s always to me somewhat of a novelty that there is this Thai pocket in this sleepy corner of West Sussex and it’s a different and original option.

A pub in the middle of nowhere serving great Thai food. Really good - we've been there about 10 times and always enjoy it. Excellent service. A pleasure to eat there.

Restaraunt is one half of a busy pub , with tables far too small and packed together so you end up sitting in a walkway.

arrived early on a Saturday evening, as entering a female member of staff was outside smoking! not the best start, at the bar ordered drinks and asked if there was a table for 2 available for the restaurant. Was quickly shown to a table small and cramped and right on top of a red hot radiator. my husband and I ordered starters and mains, starters came out quite quickly and was very nice, short time later our mains arrived, my husband had ordered sweet and sour chicken, but was presented with sweet and sour prawns, knowing my husband dislikes seafood of any kind I remarked on this and was told it was definitely what he ordered, no offer was made to change it, and I know he would NEVER make such a mistake of prawns in all the 15 years together I have never seen him eat seafood of any kind. So I swapped and he had my curry I had his prawns, so far disappointed with service as this was not what ordered, we could have made a fuss, but then had to wait another 20 mins with either me eating alone while he waited or mine being reheated whilst his order corrected, so just made the best of a bad situation. After finishing our meal asked if we could go back through to the bar as by now the heat from the radiator we were sat up against was now becoming unbearable. Husband got up to get more drinks whilst I sat at the table, watched the female bar staff go outside again for another cigarette ( second in less than 2 hours) came back and proceeded to serve customers WITHOUT even washing her hands ! disgusting. Over the next 30 mins I also saw her take 3 inhalations from a vape pen whilst behind the bar, blowing the smoke over towards a table of 4 who were having bar snacks. Personally I think this was totally unacceptable possibly even illegal. if her need for nicotine is this great then perhaps she is in the wrong job. At this point I would add as an EX Licensee she wouldnt work for me for 2 reasons poor Hygiene, and I would not be paying her to smoke ! I also found this place to be rather dusty, dust on light fittings decor and such forth, if this is what front of house is like, what are the kitchens like.......... Would I go back ? most definitely not.

We used to come here years ago when Thai food was unusual but then thai foods opened up nearer to us.Very busy for early week but service good and a great selection of various foods,great mixed starters to share and followed by the main courses and not too spicy,no room for puddings.

I like it here a lot - I have been twice for the Sunday Thai buffet and both times food was great. I like that it has a pub feel but serves Thai food; it's unusual.

We booked and took our Groupon voucher. We were welcomed when we arrived, we were well looked after and the food was really great.

We have eaten here LOADS of times in the last 4 months. Every time the food has been really great. It is always fresh and tasty. The people running the place are delightful and even loaned my husband glasses to read the menu.

Nice country pub serving good beer and delicious hot freshly cooked Thai food nice friendly pleasant hosts.

We decided to visit the Hamilton Arms as a half way point whilst meeting friends for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of Thai food served. A lovely scenic drive to this venue and a lovely lunch rounded off the day.

Dropped in to look it over before booking a future dinner date. Looks really well set up. Will be eating in the restaurant but would be happier if the noises bar had a door to close. Warm welcome and service

My husband and I went here after reading the good reviews. We were staying at the Spread Eagle hotel in Midhurst but having already had a Sunday roast wanted something different for our evening meal.Authentic Thai food in a pub! The food was excellent .The pub itself is a bit tired and could do with a bit of a revamp but don’t let that put you off. I. Just wish one of our local pubs served such great Thai food. Will definitely return to Nava Thai again.

best Thai food in Hampshire but shame about the service as it's always slow and the order is constantly wrong.bar menue is cheaper than the restaurant menue abit confusing as the food is the same..

Took my friend fir the first time to this pub, Hamilton Arms in Stedham. Must go down as the best Thai cuisine I have ate in the U.K. Perfect on all aspects. Definitely will visit many more times.

They close at 3pm and We arrived at 2.30pm with a dog. None of this was a problem. Ww were seated in the bar where dogs are allowed and a lovely Thai lady brought us copious amounts of delicious foods from the buffet. One of best green curries ever! The lady behind the bar was also charming and brought our drinks to the table. The people could not have been nicer and the food was delicious. When next in the area we will return.

We often go here for the Sunday buffet, which is great value, but decided to have an evening meal. Really enjoyed our meal, food was fabulous and served beautifully. We love this restaurant, it is great! The Thai red curry had a good heat to it, and their special beef was really tender. Glad we ate the beef before the red curry so we were able to enjoy flavours

This is the most wonderful place in the uk we called by here at 2.30pm last Sunday in the pouring rain expecting to be told we were too late! On the contrary we were welcomed in out of the rain with open arms and our beloved family dog was welcome too! High chair for the baby ! It was a really lovely Sunday lunch the food is amazing we really can’t recommend this establishment highly enough! Thank you
