Lemongrass in Chichester

Parked in the Cattle Market and walked across to the restaurant, welcomed and seated quickly, sharing starter was great, Thai Green Curry for main, so good! Unsurprisingly tasted like the meals in Thailand and much better than the other near by Thai. As a family we will return again soon.

Nice way to seeing the new year for my girlfriend and I :-) FIrst visit as we wanted a nice meal to see in the new year and we absolutely loved bit! Really friendly and welcoming staff. Fantastic food throughout all courses. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back! Happy new yearvto all at the lemongrass x

The food here is really delicious. I ordered the red curry and it tasted really good. The spring rolls and egg fried rice were very good. The service is top-notch. Would highly recommend.

Really nice place to eat if, you can take a little chilly, which I can't really, so I order stuff with no chillies in, however, no matter what I order it's hot, for me almost too hot and spicey, so much I loose sensation in my mouth which honestly soils my appreciation of the food. I know it's a me problem, and that's fine, I just take the heat, just wish they would use the same utensils in the kitchen for non hot dishes that they use for hot dishes, as I'm sure that's where the heat comes from. So that's why I personally have docked a star for the food, I'm sure if you like hot food it will be just fine.

Delicious food at a great price.

A mi amigo y a mí nos dieron un asiento junto a la ventana de enfrente, pensamos que sería agradable ver a la gente pasar, pero pronto nos dimos cuenta de que era un error. Los repartidores de comida seguían entrando y saliendo y dejando la puerta abierta de par en par, la gente en las mesas cercanas también comentaba lo frío que hacía cada vez. Las tortas de pescado eran muy agradables, pero la almohadilla tailandesa era la más sosa que he tenido, no sabía a nada. He estado allí y he comido bien, pero lo malo parece estar pesando más que lo bueno ahora.

As always this is such a secret little gem.... lovely friendly family restaurant - great value formula meal, food lovely and fresh and great value for money. We LOVE lemongrass. We visited for the first time in april and it was so delicious, we had been dreaming of it ever since and finally went back today. We live 1.5 hours away but lemongrass is 10000% worth the trip. The restaurant is lovely and decorated so nicely. The staff are so nice and friendly and the food is 10/10 and such good value. We will definitely be back, thank you ☺️

A wonderful birthday celebration meal that our daughter arranged. The service was outstanding. The food was delicious and perfectly portioned. We enjoyed our meal and the ambience.

Having eaten in several times, we've had probably 5+ takeaway meals that were good. Last two, first was terrible - so much salt the meal wasn't edible. Didn't bother to tell them, the meal was thrown away and then too late and not worth telling them. The last meal, after a gap, we tried again and this time we had two different dishes, the food was just poor. It wasn't expensive, £20+ with a discount for takeaway, but it was bland, colourless and not good.

Visited with my family for a meal a couple of weeks ago. A really nice restaurant with an extensive menu and good service. We all really enjoyed our meal and will definetely be back!

A spur of the moment night out tonight. Its not one of our regular places to dine but the food was beautiful, the service friendly, the restaurant clean. We shall return.

Lemongrass is always reliable. It offers great value with its tasty dishes. Its lunchtime menu works brilliantly. Admittedly it could change more often but the tapas idea is good. I use it pre theatre . Why the low 3* for atmosphere. Well you make your own.

I’ve only ever had takeaways from Lemongrass so this was my first time eating in. As with the takeaways I’ve had, the food was lovely, atmosphere great and staff polite / attentive.

Great authentic Thai food. We both had stir fry chilli and basil (pad gra pow) which was tasty and made to hotness / spice we asked for. Good price and friendly staff. Good portion of Thai prawn crackers as well.

Delicious food, the pad siew had a nice wok smokiness which gives an authentic taste. It wasn’t too busy on a Tuesday evening so service was very quick and the staff were attentive. Nice restaurant atmosphere too.

We are visitors to this town and we visited Lemongrass last year. We were delighted to say it was excellent then …and still is today! It was very busy on a Wednesday evening, showing how popular it is. We were warningly greeted and given a nice table. The restaurant is a very pleasant place to eat and enjoy good food. The smiling staff are always on hand to render help and give good device about the menu dishes. The portions are good and food's served on very hot plates. The prices are very reasonable. All tastes wonderful…the best Thai restaurant we know! We fully recommend the Lemongrass!

We've both visited and ordered delivery from the Lemongrass, and every single time, it's been phenomenal. We've introduced visiting family and friends to the food here, which always gets praise. The spicy dishes actually have amazing spice (something that's so rare in the UK), and the starter set with tempura prawns always arrive crispy (which on deliveries at other restaurants never happens). Highly recommend the Pad Kee Mao and the Sticky I Am and the Thai fishcakes. Whenever we've eaten in the restaurant, they've managed to slot us in at late notice and they've been super friendly and attentive. Always a 10/10 experience.

Been here quite a few times. Somehow it lost its way a few years ago so stopped going. Went back on my own and it was pretty good again so took my gf a week later... We asked for a lamb dish on the menu and they said they dont have the lamb. Fair enough, got beef instead. When served they forgot that beef dish and I had to call the waiter back. Kinda unbelievable he didnt realise as there was only 1 other table, but ok. Came out a few minutes later and the meat was so dry. Boiled tf i guess, or just plain bad prep. Not sure which is worse. So, time to pay and the waiter is literally hovering over me. I was actually just gonna pay the service charge and not come back but the hovering bothered me so much I said (politely) I wasnt going to pay the service charge cos of the mistake. His face dropped. On the way out I said "bye" and was completely ignored by him and the barman. We spent almost £100 for lunch. I'm surprised that they didnt offer any discount at all, let alone be so arrogant after.

We had the penag curry and the signature stri fry. Definitely the best Thai food I've ever had in the UK. The owner was really friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. Would 100% recommend!

We have been visiting the Lemon Grass for many years and it is always superb. We are always greeted like long lost friends and the service is always excellent, not sure where some of the other reviews are coming from. Over the years the menu has changed slightly, but they still have our favourites and it is always perfect. We will be back soon as it is always a perfect evening out The only disappointment we have it that it is not in Bognor Regis.

I took my wife here for her birthday. Absolutely the best Thai food I've ever tasted in the UK by far. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Would 100% recommend and I will definitely be coming back myself.

First visit to Chichester and my nephew brought us here. Staff were very friendly. Lovely deco inside. Toilet were cleaned. Food was good. I would definitely come back.

Super meal on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was busy but the service was still great. We chose set menu B for two and enjoyed a bountiful feast full of wonderful flavours and textures. Everything was perfect, portions generous and competitively priced, so no wonder this place is full midweek. Highly recommended.

Firstly, cannot say what the food was like as we didn't get the chance to try any from the menu. Arrived around 12.10pm for lunch on the 26.06.24. There were 2 tables occupied, so not busy. The staff member was behind the bar with his back to us fiddling around on the computer. We waited, and waited but this person was not going to turn around to acknowledge that we were standing at the bar waiting for a table. I coughed a couple of times and once said "hello, excuse me" but he was still playing away on the computer as if it was more important than to increase the current clientele from 4 to 6. Had he just even bothered to acknowledge us by saying he would be just a minute, then we would have waited. I said to my wife in a loud enough voice whether we should go to the Giggling Squid. Still nothing, so this is exactly what we did. They had one chance to make a good impression and they failed miserably. Have a very large family gathering coming up in August. This was the one of the reasons for the visit today to see if it was any good. 22 people who have no budget in mind, which will now probably be going to the Giggling Squid, and not Lemongrass. Your loss pal.

We have been visiting the Lemon Grass for many years, and have never been disappointed. This time was no exception, the food was superb as usual and the staff are so friendly, we always feel as if we are seeing old friends. Our only disappointment is that it is not closer to Bognor Regis, where we do not have a Thai Restaurant.

We have been going to this Thai restaurant for a few years and always had a good experience. Unfortunately last Saturday we went for dinner with friends and our experience was disappointing. The food quantities were small for a set menu at £26 per person not enough meat in the dishes and the starters were over cooked won’t visit on a Saturday again or rush back

We came here last night, and we cannot fault it. The food was amazing and the service was excellent, the staff really look after you here! This will be a new fave of ours!

It was okay but seriously expensive and a bit underwhelming. Ordered the tiger prawn main but only got 3 weird twisted prawns with not much sauce and a few bits of onion and peppers for £16+! Banana fritter was awful.

Takeaway is unjustifiably expensive and inconsistent. I enjoy eating in this restaurant but again it's very expensive. The food is good but nothing incredible, you can get better value elsewhere in Chichester for Asian food. I also find this restaurant lacks atmosphere in comparison to Rustington. I'm dropping a star since prices have risen sharply to the point where you're looking at £60 for a takeaway for two, unfortunately that's a bit too steep and I'm not finding the food matches that price. I think a bigger discount for takeaway would be fairer. Unsure I'll order again for the foreseeable. 2024 update: I've just tried takeaway again after 6 months to see if quality has improved since the prices went up and actually some of the dishes I had the quality had decreased... Vegetable side now almost entirely cabbage... My point remains that this restaurant is very overpriced at nearly £30 a head on takeaway the quality of some of the dishes needs to be improved to match the price increase. I won't be returning for a while to see if things improve.

Only previously had a takeaway from here which we did enjoy so we decided to try it out for dinner. As with the takeaway we were not disappointed and we will be back for sure the next time we are in town. The service and food were both excellent I throughly enjoyed the Issa Dynamite starter and the sizzling seafood main and these of phad broccoli was also excellent we will be back for sure.

Visited lemongrass multiple times now but it seems that they have reduced portion sizes which is a shame. Service great as always. However portions need to increase as before.

First class food, excellent service. The best Thai food we have had in the UK. Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble, highly recommended.

We came here from just outside Guildford for lunch for my birthday on 27th hoping that, having come a long way, the food would be good. We need not have worried. We had a lovely friendly welcome and had a seat in the window next to a warm heater. The menu was very varied and took a while to decide and to start we had the mixed starter and then two stir fried dishes and egg rice and everything was perfect including the espressso. There had been a Lemongrass in our village but unfortunately it closed so we had to travel to Chichester but it was the best meal we have had for a very long time and we can't wait to go again.

Amazing tasting food and reasonable prices - I had a chicken and veg stir fry with noodles on the side. Gorgeous flavour. Everyone in my group was happy with their pad Thai and beef. It was a bithrday meal and the cheeky chappy waiter who serenaded the birthday boy was HILARIOUS, not your conventional song and the twirking had us in stitches. A must try restaurant!

Went here after rugby at Chichester RFC, the excellent staff had sorted us out a large table, thanks. Very clean and tidy place. We had fixed menu option B, really good food, great value and a lot of it. Wine was good, beer was OK. We all liked it, will be back again

We have been to many Thai restaurants across the UK and have usually been pleased and enjoyed the food. We were visiting Chichester for a few days and saw the very good reviews for Lemongrass so decided to give it a try. We ordered one of the set menus and some drinks. The restaurant was very pleasant and the staff were very friendly. Our waitress was called Sandy and she was very bubbly and lovely. The food was amazing from the first to the last course. Every dish was perfect. My husband commented that ‘Even the vegetable dish was excellent’. Lemongrass rounded off our visit to Chichester perfectly. Would recommend to anyone visiting Chichester. I’m sure the locals know what a gem they have already! Ask for Sandy.

I was recommended to visit this restaurant, food is great. Late lunch time and not too busy, made welcome and friendly. Part of the menu is tapas style, loved that as it gave a choice of different dishes, all at a reasonable price.

We love Thai food…and we were delighted to eat at this restaurant! A very warm welcome by smiling staff took us to our choice of table. The Famous five visited this Lemongrass restaurant yesterday and we were not disappointed !! We had a mixture of starters including Pu Nim,Prawn Tempura and Tum Yum soup which were all delicious. We then decided to have the duck with pancakes (which was disappointing) but we tried it !! Our main courses was a mixture of Spicy Beef Salad, Sizzling Seafood ( and yes it was breathtakingly sizzling), Sticky I Am Chicken, Phad Thai Jumbo Prawns with side of various noodle and rice dishes. All the food was presented beautifully and tasted delicious even if it was a little under descibed on the menu ! Overall we enjoyed our visit and our table side entertainment and its now ticked off our list

Deliveroo service. Good food, as always; delicious! But now very expensive! Issa Dynamite on last order was 2 x servings for £20. This time only one serving!! Making it £5 per prawn. Good, but not that good. Disappointing.

Lemongrass has so much potential but doesn't quite get there and only scores three stars for two important reasons. The website suggests that you book by email - so I did, three weeks in advance, but no-one bothered to reply to it. If the restaurant doesn't check email, just tell people to phone their bookings. Our food was really very good and lived up to expectations - but, once we'd finished our main course and our plates had been cleared, no-one bothered to check if we wanted anything more. Even getting someone to bring the bill needed some effort. There were plenty of staff and everyone was helpful when you spoke to them but it shouldn't be this difficult. Sort those things out and it would easily be five stars!

We’ve been going to Lemongrass for many years for meals in the restaurant, and also regular takeaways. The food is usually really good, and the atmosphere when dining in is great, however, these good points have now been completely overshadowed following tonight’s takeaway collection. The member of staff was rude and obnoxious, essentially calling me a liar which is completely unacceptable. We will therefore no longer be visiting Lemongrass, which is such a shame. You need to ensure all of your staff treat the customers with respect!

We were treated to excellent service and delicious food. Our friends are regular customers who invited us to join them for lunch. Our table was light and bright under a roof light which is a pleasant contrast to the traditional atmospheric colours and shades of Thai restaurants. It is ideally located directly to a town centre car park pay and display with card payment. You might want to add extra time for a walk along the adjacent high street shops.

The food here is absolutely delicious, the tempura prawns were not over cooked, deliciously sweet and crisp and a good size. I also had the Tom Kha which was a first for me, this delicious lightly spiced coconut and lemongrass soup was full of flavour and left me wanting so much more, I chose to have it with king prawns which was an excellent combination of flavours. The atmosphere was as expected with all tables thoroughly enjoying their meals and lots of chatter and light music, plenty of compliments were being paid to the staff for both food and hospitality, the staff were friendly and efficient and the restaurant decor was beautiful and the place was very clean. Thoroughly recommend this place to all, will be going back in a few weeks with family and friends.
