Our first visit, managed to get the last table for Sunday lunch (booking essential). Roast beef was excellent. Love the fact that this remains an Olde Worlde pub, with small rooms/dining areas, rather than one big open space. So much character & lovely atmosphere. Will definitely return

A first visit since 2011 and had no memory of having been before. What a great pub! Such friendly service - we were a party of 8 - throughout our Saturday afternoon stay. We ate in the snug room to the left of the entrance. The food was delicious - we had a wide range of starters and main courses. The gribble microbrewery didn't have too many offerings which was a shame but the Hoppy Days was an excellent beer.

Didn't eat this time but have done so in the past. Lovely food with good service. It's country pub style food which was nice and the ale selection is good also. One of the biggest problems they're can be the lack of places to park if it's busy there but that said we will go again

First time since lockdown I've been into a new (to me) pub and not been disappointed. I found everything about it a delight. The lads behind the bar was very welcoming and sorted out a table for 6 of us, when we hadn't booked on a Saturday night. The food is ordinary as in non poncy traditional pub fare. It's really nicely cooked and presented, you get plenty and in no way feel ripped off at the end of it. Very nice meal. I had the lighter of the 2 ales they brew on site and it was very nice indeed. Most folk seemed regulars but the whole place felt very relaxed and welcoming. Never heard of oving before and will probably never go again, but this pub is well worth a visit if you're in the area and want a really pleasant evening.

Gribble Inn, what an amazing pub near Chichester. We loved absolutely everything about the place. Really welcoming and cosy atmosphere. Really nice selection of food and drinks. Very polite staff, nothing was a problem to accommodate for us. The food was absolutely delicious, definitely worth the money. I couldn't even eat it all, but I had to took take it away as it would be shame to leave behind. They also brew their own beer. It's a must try! Took 1 litre into a plastic bottle with us to enjoy after our journey back home. The outdoor garden was very pleasant as well. Overall, when we are around next time, we will definitely come again. I don’t often leave reviews as they are so subjective- but…! This pub is an absolute gem and an amazingly good one. 8 of us rocked up on short notice without booking ahead and got a huge table within minutes. 4 children with us which always adds extra challenges, but very quickly got colourings and we settled in just nice. Their own ale is FANTASTIC, it’s an absolute gorgeous, flavourful, very balanced ale with a captivating aroma and smell! Now, the food… bloody brilliant! The soup, the lamb, the sausages, the chicken liver parfait was just outstanding. Even a simple dish like kid’s mac n cheese was cooked to perfection, tasty and very obviously not coming from a packet. The portions really well sized and all of us were chuffed to bits. The atmosphere of the pub is astonishing.

Gorgeous countryside pub and brewery. On a hot midweek day in June the beamed interior was pleasantly cool. The staff were friendly and the service was efficient, but the best thing was the food. Fresh, crisply fried whitebait with proper tartar sauce was our choice of starter; very, very good. My husband had pork belly with excellent crackling, I chose apple glazed pork chop with sauté potatoes and broccoli. It was fabulous and the chop was huge! I usually only leave good reviews for places, as you can never tell if someone is just having a bad day etc. But I'm absolutely astonished at the poor attitude of the manager after my partner phoned simply to notify them that he and another member of the group had fallen ill after eating there. The manager shouted at my partner then repeatedly phoned him. To me, it would come across as harassment. I would recommend against eating at this establishment.

Parents are out here visiting as they live in California. Had our dinner at 7pm last night 6 of us, 2 of us are now incredibly sick today, and all of last night. We both had their onion rings for starters. I had their fish and chips. There is 0 chance in the world that this is not from the food we had at this establishment. I will never return for as long as I live! I will be calling when you open to complain, but this is my first port of call. AVOID! EDIT: A follow up for anyone curious.  Called them after they opened, simply to let them know I wanted 0 compensation, and only for them to be aware of what happened so nobody else gets sick coming here.  The manager proceeds to start yelling at me in a very hostile manner, and called my phone about 10+ times after.  Absolutely shocking for a restaurant, and appalling customer service.

Attended as a party of 11 for Sunday lunch. Initial waitress had a face like thunder when we first got there which did not bode well. Only child present ordered sausages and mash (they were out of mash and substituted chips) and they graciously gave her a requested Yorkshire… these arrived without gravy which they bought when requested. The gravy was sickeningly sweet, as though it had sugar or syrup poured in. Vile. Even the child couldn’t eat it, which we did alert the waitress to when she came through… she then bought all the mains with this ghastly gravy slathered all over it. 2 of us handed ours back because it was inedible. We were later charged for the mains handed back and also a starter and desert that never made it to the table and the manager truculently refused to make this right. We paid but with gravy as sweet as that and staff as alternately salty, a happy medium could be achieved…? Alas no, so we shall just have to settle for never returning to this abomination ever again.

Not happy with food...we ordered Roast Pork and Roast Beef what we got was grilled beef stake and grilled pork stake. The trimmings were boiled and flavourless, with cumin on leeks which I found it to be a weird combo. For £20 a roast I expect at least the meat to be roasted, for the pork to have crackling and for the gravy to be thick and meaty. Maybe a bad day in the kitchen but still very disappointing... After the meal we ordered another drink but not dessert. We were served with the bill even though we were still drinking and we hadn't ask for it. We were rushed to pay and out of the door within an hour. We booked the table for 12,15 and we were out at 13,15. I'm afraid that was our last visit to the pub.

The Gribble has been a big favourite with our family for years. It’s a lovely old pub in a quiet location with a nice garden for the summer. Food selection is good and reasonably priced too. However, on the last two occasions we’ve been the cask beer has been decidedly under par. Both times our pints were thin and flat tasting - not ‘off’ but just watery and lacking any ‘sparkle’ I’ve drunk a few pints in my time and I suspect the beer was not properly conditioned in each case. Tackled the barman about it but was met with the usual ‘no-one else has complained’ response and left to get on with it. This pub is very popular and must be a gold mine but sadly I won’t be able to use it while the beer is not really drinkable.

What a find. a delightful traditional pub in a beautiful historic building. Great menu of superior pub food with several specials. Bangers and mash for my other half, who's very fussy about the quality of sausages and the Gribble's pass the test with flying colours. I had a special of cod with celery, prawns and spinach - beautifully served and quite delicious. The food is very reasonably priced for the quality - we have paid a lot more for pub grub that's been nowhere near this standard. Simon and his team give such a warm welcome and well-behaved dogs are welcome. My other half only discovered the Gribble looking for a bite to eat in walking distance of where our campervan was being looked at in Tangmere - it's now on the list of favourites and well worth a detour.

The Stag Inn is a great find - a little off the beaten track but well worth finding. The Stag is a great pub in the finest British tradition - warm and friendly, very accommodating and efficient staff, great food at good prices and a wonderful experienced all round. Thoroughly recommended, we will definitely be back for more.
