The best restaurants serving Seafood food in South West

Staff were welcoming and our order was taken promptly; food arrived quite quickly too. We decided to order the set lunch; we ended up having all three courses, as the portions were really rather small. I had the soup (very hot and spicy, but that was no bad thing on a cold day) followed by the courgette linguine; my companions both had the mackerel followed by the skate, which they said was very good. For dessert two of us had the burnt basque cheesecake; I had never eaten a burnt basque (!), so thought I should give it a try. Very creamy but – yes, rather burnt at the side. The third person had the cheese plate, which was almost too big. I have some slight mobility issues, but could not see a disabled toilet, so I had to descend the steep stairs which I found rather precarious. The floor at the bottom is very uneven, so beware. A good choice for a light lunch, and not too crowded.

I’ve been told by many people that this was the place to go for fish and chips in Swindon, and they were right! Just wished I’d started coming here earlier. This place is the best by a mile, and I’ve eaten in the majority of fish and chip shops in Swindon so you can take it from me. The only thing that lets them down is they don’t take card payments in the shop, but you can pay online and order ahead. The fish is lovely (cod), good portion size in lovely crispy batter. The chips were thick cut and crispy (loads of scrumps too) and the curry sauce is the best I’ve had since my local in Greenmeadow changed hands from Mandarin Fish Bar to Fish and Chips @ Greenmeadow. I don’t give out 5 scores for much but this place thoroughly deserves it. The shop itself is nothing to look at, but the best ones always are. It’s tucked away down off of Groundwell Road, a proper old fashioned establishment in amongst Swindon’s old terraced houses. Staff are friendly and managed to arrange 12 orders seamlessly and all correct. In summary, it’s the best around for me. Worth the drive from any part of town.

Portions are generous, 5 of us shared 2 large & 1 small cod & chips & there were masses of chips left over. Ordered over the phone, so didn’t wait long. We all really enjoyed it, crisp batter, fresh perfectly cooked fish & tasty chips. As expected prices have increased but it was worth it. I will use Harley’s again, but confused as it says Stoby’s on the door

El mejor pescado y patatas fritas en Bournemouth mi nieto nos dijo que visitáramos y desde los últimos 4 viernes hemos visitado y tuvimos un encantador pescado fresco y patatas fritas , crujiente masa ligera y la mejor ensalada de col casera también! We were recommended the cafe by my mum who visits Bristol annually for a film festival. There is a really good choice of food for vegetarians and vegans, a really good atmosphere and the food is really, really delicious!! Very good sized portions and very tasty. We had the garlic mushrooms on toast, pasta puttensca and spicy beanburger with sides of chunky fries and garlic greens, it was all deeeeelicious!!!

Rarely do I give bad reviews, but sadly when I have a bad experience, I will share. The customer service here was inexistent. I entered at 7:45 with my sons to join our party of 12. There was no enough room at the main table, so my children and I sat at an adjacent table and waited for someone to greet us, address us, and take our order. Nobody ever did. Nobody even came up to tell us it was too late to order. We're sorry, nothing. How can we help you, nothing. We just sat there waiting for someone and it never happened. The rest of our party was getting their dinner delivered and we were still sitting. After an hour of being ignored, when I saw the staff scrubbing down the kitchen, I finally spoke up and asked if we were ever going to be able to order. They looked at me and said nothing. I've been in customer service my entire life. This is 100% unacceptable. If I had done this to a guest, I would lose my job. This place might have good food, but after this experience, I won't return. This was the second time at this restaurant, and the second time I've had a bad experience with service here. Sadly, I was so upset, that i didnt even get to stay and enjoy my family that was visiting from out of town. I'm really dissapointed. Life's too short to spend my money at an establishment that has no interest in customer service.

My friend treated me to tea for my birthday. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, table's cleared quickly. A good choice on the menu, well cooked, chips are lovely.

What a fantastic chippy. The chips are amazing. And fish portions are massive. Very friendly staff .... Thankyou Google for the recommendation.

Had 5 chicken dishes all of which were tough as if they had been reheated numerous times . Could tell as soon we cut into the chicken that it was going to be chewy. Spent nearly £90 . Will definitely be using Yumny’s from now on.

Dropped in for lunch, very well looked after, classic chips, brilliantly cooked fish, some of the best I've had.

The size of chips was smaller than when they first started trading. The chips were really disappointing! Really dry and old. Really disappointed. Shall not try them again.

We went to Looe on a photoshoot , my wife is an artist , we were passing by Catch fish and chips 🍟 and decided to share a portion . Oh my days it was lush , the fish was huge and the chips were perfect . 10/10
