Staff were welcoming and our order was taken promptly; food arrived quite quickly too. We decided to order the set lunch; we ended up having all three courses, as the portions were really rather small. I had the soup (very hot and spicy, but that was no bad thing on a cold day) followed by the courgette linguine; my companions both had the mackerel followed by the skate, which they said was very good. For dessert two of us had the burnt basque cheesecake; I had never eaten a burnt basque (!), so thought I should give it a try. Very creamy but – yes, rather burnt at the side. The third person had the cheese plate, which was almost too big. I have some slight mobility issues, but could not see a disabled toilet, so I had to descend the steep stairs which I found rather precarious. The floor at the bottom is very uneven, so beware. A good choice for a light lunch, and not too crowded.

Spontaneous night out. Scallops were under cooked. Plates were cold for the medium rare centre cut fillets. Thankfully the chef agreed with our judgement on the scallops and comped us through our very helpful waiter. 200+ pounds for 2 steaks, a bottle of wine, bread and olive oils, 2 pints, 1 starter and 1 dessert. Would have expected perfection for the price. 4*s granted for the hospitality of the wait staff. Kitchen needs to up their game.

We have visited Henry's twice in the last month or so, both at lunch time. It has become our favourite place for eating out in Cirencester! The staff are great, friendly and attentive, the drinks menu is good, and the food is excellent! We haven't tried all the menu yet, but can highly recommend the Steak Frites, our starters of Smoked Mackerel and Curried Parsnip soup were also delicious and beautifully cooked and presented. We'll definitely be back!

We had our Wedding Reception at Henry’s for 113 guests on 21st September 2024 and I honestly cannot thank them enough for the absolutely fantastic job they did. Right from the start of the planning phase, nothing was too much trouble for Tom and the team at Henry’s. They were extremely flexible when inevitably plans changed slightly and came up with great ideas of how best to run the day. The food created by Warwick and his team was nothing short of phenomenal as the pictures show. The buffet style BBQ was far from your normal BBQ, the flavours were amazing and so well thought out for the day and everyone I spoke to after the event commented on how lovely the food was and how much they enjoyed it. Warwick even put together a separate menu for the 30 children we had attending which included monkfish goujons, a big hit! All in all, the beautiful venue just across from the Church in which we had the ceremony, could not have been a better choice for our Wedding Reception. From the cocktails, to the food, to the excellent service from the whole team leading up to and during the day, we truly thank everyone for giving us such a special day to remember.

5 out of 5 We hired Henry’s for 2 hours for a 60 person private gathering the afternoon before our wedding. From start to finish the staff were incredibly helpful and the food was sublime. Canapés (and dinner afterwards) were delicious, huge well done to the kitchen, catering for everyone. Vegans, gluten free etc etc food that our fussy guests are still talking about. Even the sun was shining in the beautiful garden! A truly memorable afternoon. I cannot recommend Henry’s enough. Thank you guys!

I asked for a haddock and chips, the haddock was enormous! And all for £9.60. This was probably the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. Well done all, we will be back!

I am a firm believer of supporting your local businesses and having been twice - the first visit I skipped the fish and chips and went for Pie and Chips with a gravy - no faults really and they are pukka pies so you can’t argue. The second visit I went fish and chips with a mushy peas. The peas were fine - most probably bachelors (no issue there), however as it’s a fish and chip shop you have to try the fish and chips - the chips are okay nothing special however definitely not frozen ones which is good. The fish however wasn’t freshly cooked and was sitting waiting in the warming bin, the fish was also grainy and had a subtle smell which I knew it wasn’t fresh - it was eatable however I didn’t enjoy it, the batter was awful and greasy aswell. I know a lot of Cirencester raves about this place however sorry I don’t agree it’s overrated and I would actually say it’s not very good value either. Having tried your competition I would say the Friar Tuck is better, I haven’t tried Seafare so can’t comment on them. Apologies to write a bad review however in this day and age you have to be on the top of your game, and the only fish and chip shop in Cirencester offering the best quality is the Malt and Anchor.

Been coming here for years. Personally think it’s the best chip shop there is. Brilliant

Not worth the money but took my family for a celebration meal. Didn't feel a good atmosphere. A little cramped and the chairs were very hard and uncomfortable. The service was fairly good. Wouldn't go again and would not recommend ...... voted the Best in The West. Not for me.
