Great Chippy, lovely and clean, nice friendly staff, excellent food with good sized portions at reasonable prices and the chips were cooked to perfection. Happy to recommend to others.

First time going to this chippy, food tasted great even though we had to eat it cold as when got home realised they had forgotten an item that I ordered. So had to travel back. Explained they had forgotten the curry sauce. No apology for the inconvenience it caused. But other than that. The food was ok. Not happy that I had to travel back to the chippy for the forgotten item

Great service and food! Great to see they were very attentive to allergies, as one of us suffers from a dairy allergy. Food was very hot and the service was quick. They opened at 5pm and glad we got there first as after 10 mins it got very busy! Inside is very clean!

The fish was under cooked the batterd sausage was a little pink in middle and chips under cooked .the service well what can I say useless like Tesco two young women don't now what the left hand is doing with the right and the atmosphere ain't great I think they need marriage counselling

Absolutely pristine establishment, helpful and cheery owners and the fish and chips were first class - golden chips, beautiful white cod in crunchy batter and served in insulated boxes, not just paper. This was the first of what will be many visits.

Never open! They have the most unreliable opening hours I've ever known, often you'll find them closed when they say they should be open. But if somehow you manage to find them open then the fish is good but the chips are slightly undercooked.

Fish and chips as they are supposed to be: all nicely cooked, not too greasy, served quick and hot. Fairly good value, and plenty to choose from, with battered halloumi for the vegetarians, and sausages and nuggets for the meat-eaters.

Re-fried chips, dry and luke warm

Very good food brilliant service

We came across this fish and chip shop while out walking during a recent stay at the Cotswold Water Park. We decided to give it a try and certainly weren’t disappointed. Between us we had fish, saveloy, battered sausage and chicken nuggets…and of course chips. It was all delicious - hot and perfectly cooked. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area 😋

Best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. Becoming a regular there now despite having to drive 15mins to get there.

We were very impressed with this take away. We had a large group and ordered a variety of different things - such as: fish, chips, sausages, chicken nuggets, burgers. All of it tasted amazing! The potions are a bit small compare to other fish & chip shops, but otherwise everything was very good. The cod was one of the best I have had. It was moist, but not greasy or wet. The batter was nice and crispy. There was a large queue outside, but it moved pretty quickly. We would definitely go back and would recommend it to others.

Since 2017 a group of us have been renting out a house not far from this Fish and Chip shop whilst we attend the Riat. We have always had at least one takeaway from this Chip shop and we have never had a bad experience. This time we had it twice and the service, food and portions are always very good. I’d highly recommend the South Cerney Fish and Chips shop

Always good food and always worth the wait inline. There is always a queue, more so on a Friday, but that speaks volumes for the quality of the food. Highly recommended.

Ordered in advance and was ready for when we got there. Good fish and chips. 1/2 Burger was good. I would say a large chips would serve 2 people but if you want allot of chips then a large to yourself is needed. Chip portion sizes vary so much so I like to mention this. Place is very clean but no inside seating

A great discovery. Even my son commented on how good the scampi and chips were. Shop was lovely and clean and staff were very efficient and friendly.

My family and I were staying at the water park and tried the chippy which was fantastic all round so much so we visited twice in 4 days we were there. Shall try again on our next visit from Ireland....

I called in as I was staying nearby. I arrived at 1655 (it opens at 1700), there was a queue outside despite it being really cold today. The queue was 20 ish strong by the time it opened - that’s a good sign I thought. The main products ie cod, battered sausages, pies and chips were already cooked and available to serve. This is is a first in a long time - I’m used to fish being cooked on demand….. another good sign The staff were very welcoming and service swift. If only I lived closer. The fish (cod) was fabulous with crispy batter. The chips were also really good. The best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time

Always good, only open at the end of the week which is a shame because it’s a real asset to the village.

Chuffed to find this place close to Hoburne. Really friendly and super efficient staff. When I made it to the front of the cue I was walking out with my order in minutes.

We were staying at the nearby holiday park and wanted had fish and chips from south cerney on our last day the service was friendly and fast the chips were delicious and plentiful the regular cod was big and very tasty good batter we would definitely recommend as a great meal and good value for money.

Excellent fish and chips beautifully crisp batter tempered by the blight of most fish and chips shops portion control and far too many chips. Hence waste.

Two large battered sausages, medium cod, steak and ale pie, regular chips and cheesy chips - all very good and easily filled 2 adults and 2 children. Long queue on a Friday night - 30-40 mins, but it was worth it. Might not have been so inclined if it was raining! Apparently the trick is to place the order by phone and collect at the allotted time!

Not happy.. we are on holiday locally.. pulled up Mon to see closed, fair enough.. sign on door says open Tues/Wed.. look on website to see prices/deals/specials.. to see closed Tues/Wed as well.

Only open from Thursday in the week and is very busy, often queuing down the road. However it is worth the wait as the quality is very good. Lots of chips so 2 portions would feed 3 hungry adults easily.

Cheese wasn’t melted properly but It was near closing so I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but when I began to eat my cheesy chips the chips were burnt on one side and completely raw on the other! I am disgusted by this experience and don’t plan on returning to eat there again. Do better south cerney fish and chips!!!!!!!!!!!

Very Clean... go see, very nice. Lots of staff here loverly food. Worth the drive. Come and try. Fish/cod nicely cooked with a verified of other foods ready to serve you. The chips 🍟 looked nice... Location near post office on a quiet road. A Small blue sign pokes out as your driving down road but you noticed the post office first. Small Buisness doing well serving good quility food for surrounding villages.

This is my local F&C shop and have been a dozen times over the last few years. Quality of food and customer service is excellent. One large and one regular portion of chips, 2 spring rolls, 1 large sausage £12.50 which is pretty good.

The web site says it's open when it's closed, as never updated. Been twice in the last fortnight as they were open, only to find a note on the door saying closed! If only the web site would reflect the true opening hours!

We had a takeaway whilst staying in the area and what a great find! A lovely chip shop and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The chips were very tasty and not greasy at all. Up there with one of the nicest chippy teas I think...

Said it was open until 2000 arrived at 1925 and it was shut. I should clarify this was 17/09/20 not this evening.

Well it is the only one but very popular. Be prepared to queue at the moment. Highly recommended and always busy.

So here we are away for a family birthday celebration of the 2nd birthday of my twin grandsons. Arriving late at our accommodation and needing a quick fix for supper. Fish and chips we thought..looked on the internet..found this place which it says shuts at 9pm so I bomb off arriving at 8.40pm..the door is locked. It gives the closing time on the door as 9pm. There are customers in the shop..I knock on the door and catch the eye of someone behind the counter and I'm totally blanked. What's that about? So high street traders are finding it hard to compete with deliveroo and the like. Don't look like these one's need our support.

Holidaying in south cerney and this is a little hidden gem. Fresh cooked food, fab service, friendly staff and most of all food was fab and tasty. So much better than in town centre. Will be returning on our next holiday!!!

This place has the best fish and chips around, we have tried many places and always compare them to here, but they are never as good. They skin the Cod so that so can eat the whole thing without missing out on any of their lovely batter.The chips are consistently great and the portion size is good.They are not the cheapest but they make it up on taste.

We have been using this fish and chip shop once or twice a month for many, many years now and have previously left a good review for them. I would like to say that we had cod and chips on Thursday 22 August, and as usual it didn't disappoint, in fact we both felt the fish, with its crispy, light batter was probably the best we have ever enjoyed from South Cerney. It's great when a popular takeaway continues to improve, with their refurbishment this year and always, a spotlessly clean premises. Would highly recommend to visitors to the area.

We spent the morning at Lechlade but travelled to South Cerney for lunch. Customer service was excellent, food was top notch and really tasty. Will be back next time we are passing, definitely recommend.

Debes probar esto, siempre tiene un sabor fresco y crujiente, y todo lo que sea un excelente pescado y papas fritas debe ser, esperemos que las reservas de bacalao puedan seguir siendo abundantes en el Atlántico o que todos se sientan como un pescado destripado. Si hay un inconveniente, es solo que a veces la cola se extiende un poco afuera, pero seguramente esa es una señal de que todos hemos aterrizado en el lugar correcto y estamos dispuestos a esperar.COD ALMIGHTY es genial.
