Absolutely awesome fish chips. Fantastic quality. Very good price.

A simple but authentic place with various types of fried fish offered in some interesting variations. Not only fish but also side dishes, veggie options and recipes with chips. The gentleman at the counter spins like a top and does everything with a smile! Generous portions and economical price.

This is an excellent traditional chippy. The fish options are Cod Haddock & Plaice. We had cod which was really well cooked The chips were exceptional and so was the curry sauce, which I wouldn't skip. Prices were reasonable and service was great as well. In our group we also had scampi, sausage and fishcake as well - all were well reported. Highly recommended

Ian (the owner) happened to strike a conversation with my partner while I was busy trying to figure out transport for the next leg of our trip. He so graciously offered to have his wife take us as she was picking up their daughter at the same time. We had a lovely conversation with Ian,his wife, and his daughter all wonderful people. The fish and chips are pretty awesome too!

Fantastic chips bang in the middle of town

Lovely food. Not normally a fan of curry sauce anywhere else but there's is made from scratch and amazing!

Me and my mate went to the bike meet in Stow...we went to get some chips. Boy! did we pick a good chippy. Probably in my top 5 chip shops. The young lady behind the counter was pleasant and efficient. The chips were fantastic - crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, really tasty and piping hot. Thank you very much!

Staying local and fancied F&C's so went here, staff were very friendly and nice. Outstanding Haddock and Chips, very fresh, well cooked with the best curry sauce I've ever had. Best chippy I've been to for ages. Highly recommended.

We've been to many, many chip shops. This one however, is absolutely incredible. Normally, chippies are ridiculously overpriced, yet Greedy's prices are completely reasonable and the food is outstanding! So much choice, beautiful chicken, chips, cod, etc. The curry sauce, although it has some type of raisins (or something similar) in it, which I would normally hate!.. It gives the sauce such a beautiful flavour! The baps are beautiful and soft, and they actually butter them. The flavour and food quality is excellent and I can't wait to return! Completely faultless!!

The Boss said - great chips, great chips and great curry sauce. He was pleased with the portion and also mentioned an unreasonable desire for homemade tartare sauce. Kev said - FANTASTIC. Made the 2 hour journey home after a long day of work worth it. I really enjoyed my sosig and look forward to nibbling away on it’s meaty delights again. Top notch tucker.

Usually go here after shopping once a week and maybe change our mind. This week we went and had to pick out so many bad chips. Why can’t the girl serving see them and not serve them. What if someone with limited sight had received these. Bad custom.

Service was quick, but VERY disappointed with the chips. Very greasy and they looked like the bits left at the bottom of the fryer. How hard can it be to provide decent chips !! Cod wasn’t much better, over battered and little fish enclosed. If there’s another chippy in Stow, we’ll be heading there !

My wife and I have just returned from an Easter weekend in Stow-on-the-wold and decided to stay in the cottage we rented Saturday evening…….so I walked along to the Greedy Fish & Chip shop for our supper and I must say they where the best fish and chips we have had!!! We come from South Shields near a big fish quay and have had numerous F&C’s but nothing compares to the Greedy Fish & Chip shop. Regards John & Janice

Very hit and miss - sometimes its ok and sometimes its very poor ...and when I say very poor I mean the chips are almost greasy bags of cooking oil. Generally, though, the fish is massively better which beggars the question what are they doing wrong with the chips? The place has changed hands recently and we as locals were hoping there would be an obvious improvement, but so far its remained about the same. We were fairly regular here as its conveniently local to us, but for a far better fish and chip experience, we now prefer to go to The Harbour in Marigold Square in Carterton - the fish and chips there are far, far better quality, and consistently so but it's a bit more expensive. Having said all this about Greasy's - oops, I mean Greedy's - you may be lucky and get them on a good day

Visited whilst staying in the town over the weekend and so glad I did. Fast, friendly service. Great choice on the menu including sweet potato fries which were delicious. Best chippy I’ve visited in years and highly recommended.

Best chips anywhere near Chippy!

I opted for Cod & Chips with mushy peas+curry sauce from the only Fish n Chips shop in town for my first meal of my 4 day in lovely Stow-on-the-Wold - A big disappointment: Chips were dry, tasteless, greasy, lots of scrap ends , Fish was equally tasteless and flimsy, poor quality- my guess - defrosted frozen fish. Do yourself a favour and avoid. Staff were friendly but food quality let's them down.

Some of the best fish and chips I had while in the UK! We were drawn in by all the locals waiting outside. Good portions and prices. Curry sauce is fantastic as well! Highly recommend if you’re in the Cotswolds.

Driving to Brighton from Worcester, we called in here for a quick takeaway. So glad we did as the chips were extremely good, the best we have had for years

Tried this place for the first time and got a few burgers and sides. Burger was OK at best, but ended up having a surprise topping on one. There was a giant piece of plastic mixed in with the salad. I can see how maybe a small piece would go unnoticed, but its clear the cook was preparing the food with his eyes closed.

I'm a connoisseur of fish & chips - my favorite food on the planet. I would recommend this. Good service and nice full flaky cod. Chips are refreshingly u-greasy.

Fab little Chippy! The cod and chips were amazing! But the curry sauce is the real winner. It’s unlike any I’ve ever tried. We ate here twice in a week and both times were great.

ordered haddock and the portion was huge! couldn't finish the portion on my own! the fried cod roe was quite unique and worth trying. there are benches in the shop and right outside to sit down and eat, but no tables and it can get crowded during lunchtime.

Called in tonight. Frankly awful. Fish inedible, not fresh and batter was thick and dough-like. Mushy peas bright green and watery. All went in the bin.

Everything was delicious and super friendly family that owns it.

Appreciated the quickness and how easy it was to pick up dinner. Fish and chips were very good of course and there were other food options on the menu as well.

Fantastic chips just two days ago. Best I've had in 20 years.

Good value (about £8 for cod, a very good portion of chips, x2 onion rings & sauce) and the curry sauce is even better than your average chippy. Good quick dinner to have sat on the green nearby when you're visiting Stow on the Wold.

On holiday in the Cotswolds and looking around Stow-on-the-Wold didn't expect to come across such a great fish and chip shop.

Awesome fish & chips in Stow-on-the-Wold !!! We stumbled across a very long queue in front of this small shop while we were exploring Stow-on-the-Wold. Seeing the long queue, especially of local people, gave the first impression that it must be good. And yes, Greedy's didn't disappoint. The fish and chips here is very tasty... Really large portion and value for money. In addition to fish and chips, I will also recommend fried prawns here.

Friday night fish and chips - and how! Cod and chips great, but the plaice (cooked to order) was something else. Batter was best I’ve ever had. Add a mushy pea fritter (a first for me) and curry sauce to die for, completed a great meal. Food doesn’t have to have Michelin stars to be good, well cooked and value for money wins every time. Oh - and throw in polite and cheerful service ….

Fabulous Fish & Chips! Fish was very white and beautifully cooked, chips were proper chips and not scraps!
