Genuinely very impressed with the food and atmosphere. A friend of mine had been before and had an amazing time so offered to take me and my partner out for the evening. Andy (the owner and chef) cooked all the food, brought it out and describes each dish. You can tell how passionate he is about the food. We really cannot wait to come back again soon! Tuvimos una comida maravillosa, y excelente relación calidad-precio. Tuve la langosta (muy generoso) y mi pareja tenía el marisco Bowl. Preciosas locales cocinadas con agradecimiento por su procedencia. Una botella de la casa roja (bien elegido) y un postre compartido... bajo 45 libras!! John y su encantador personal nos cuidó muy bien... Me alegro que recomendar este nuevo añadido a la London Road. ¡volveremos!

Goujon Monkey catered our wedding and were absolutely wonderful. Everyone has said how delicious the food was and some even said it was the best halloumi they had ever had. I’d definitely recommend considering them for your next event - we will be recommending to all of our friends and family.

Amazing fish and chips, really glad I discovered this place. The food was up there with the very best I have ever had out of the countless chip shops I have tried up and down the country. Got to be the best in Reading and probably Berkshire too. Expertly cooked to order with quality ingredients getting every aspect just right. Light, crisp batter with tender fresh cod inside with the best chips I have had in a very long time - chunky thick cut, nice golden brown colour, crisp on the outside and soft potato inside. Both the fish and the chips were well drained and not greasy. Cod, small chips and mushy peas cost £11.10. Not the cheapest but worth every penny and nice large portion sizes. The food was well packed in a cardboard box so stayed warm and didn’t go soggy at all before eating. The shop looks a bit run down on the outside and isn’t in the nicest part of town, but don’t let that put you off, it’s very clean inside and has 5/5 food hygiene rating. Friendly service and the usual menu choices. This is one of those places that looks like it hasn’t changed in decades, but with food that good there is nothing that needs changing! Highly recommended, I will definitely be back. Cannot fault them, wish it was my local!

I never write reviews, but I feel compelled to talk about the simply incredible service I had today from Marino's. I ordered online because I'm lazy like that. Unfortunately, Just Eat were being absolutely useless. The food was delayed because they couldn't get a driver. I got a call from the owner herself to update me and apologise. The restaurant had prepared my order 3 times while waiting for the promised driver in order to ensure my food was fresh, and I suspect possibly a fourth time after our call. It was instantly obvious, talking to the owner, that she cared greatly about the quality of their service and food. Eventually a driver materialised and I received my food hot and fresh and absolutely delicious. I have ordered from Marino's a few times and never had delivery issues and the food has always been amazing. As if all that wasn't enough, a hand-written apology as well as a bottle of Prosecco came with the order once it arrived. Absolute above-and-beyond service. Cannot praise and recommend these guys enough. 10/10

7 of us had a lovely meal here on a Thursday evening in September. We had a selection excellent Mexican fishes with mixed sides. The cocktails were fabulous and we also thoroughly enjoyed the brain-teaser movie quiz on our table. A great place for friends to enjoy a night out!!

Recently moved nearby and visited a few times already, lovely cod and chips, pleasant service, thoroughly recommended.
