Clive's Plaice in Canterbury

Food was OK, but took over 25 minutes from ordering to get our food. We were offered a small sausage for what I thought was for waiting, but they took it back as they’d found a missing small bit of chicken they’d cooked up. Seemed a shame to not get the free sausage.

I went here with family who said they loved the place and had visited before. I have to say the visit was a few months ago but I loved the atmosphere (kind of old cafe feel). The food was 5 star and easily some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. I have visited for battered sausage and chips to take away if I am in Herne Bay, just because the food is so good. Keep up the great work! Easily 5 star experience!

The first time I went, the menu was a bit confusing but the waitress happily explained it. I was a bit dubious at first looking at the prices and all that but oh boy I'd say it's worth every penny. The food was lovely and the service was brilliant especially one waitress, she was 👌(feel like a creep saying that, but yeah she was 👌👌👌👌)

This was the first visit to this restaurant and I was excited to secure a reservation as have always read good reviews and was looking forward to the dining experience. We had a two course meal and the food was incredibly underwhelming and average. I am not of an age whereby my taste buds are deteriorating and felt the overwhelming urge for salt and pepper to be added to each of the courses as they were fairly tasteless. My main course was presented and displayed in what I could only describe was looking like pond water that has also been served up with the fish which was a bit of avocado which did not taste like avocado whatsoever. Despite the food being very average, the service from the team was very good and they were incredibly welcoming. However, despite this positivity, I would not recommend the restaurant and certainly wouldn’t be willing to give it a second chance myself..

food was cold had to reward it which made the food taste stale not at all pleased and hope I never have another like it or that will be my lot from this fish shop. I've been very happy for almost five years but it's a very expensive treat to not enjoy
