Good fish and chips. A big selection to choose from. Visited twice whilst on holiday. If back in area will know where to go for fish and chips. Will recommend too.

The fish was really oily, the fries were cold. They don’t offer the sauce and we had to purchase the heinz sauce instead. No tissues were offered. Didn’t let us use the rest room, I do not recommend.

First time visiting this fish & chip shop, as VC Jones has closed down. Unfortunately the large cod was the worst I have ever tasted, it was so dry and inedible. Chips & curry sauce were fine, mushy peas just tasted bland. Would not recommend.

Excellent fish and chips. Ordered lunch on the phone to collect 30 mins later - food was on time freshly cooked and delicious - lovely cod cooked to perfection - flaky and perfect batter not greasy but crisp and light. Chips were also good . Rob has been running the shop for 15 years and that says it all - lovely. Thank you - we will be back.

This is the best fish and chip shop in whitstable. Fresh fish always cooked to order. Light crispy batter, always tastes fresh with big white flakes. Generous portion of chips. Their curry sauce is the best too, just the right consistency. Parking too makes the the only place of choice for me

Fancied fish and chips while here on our mini break away. Googled this place drive for 10mins and im very glad we did. Chips were lovely fish was cooked perfectly nice and crisp batter. Loved the curry sauce and mushy peas. Unfortunately they forgot my saveloy but enjoyed what I did have. Check you have everything in bag before you leave.

Went here today as we had surprise guests arrive to see us and they wanted to try 'traditional' fish and chips. Not been here for some years (noting previous old reviews) I thought I needed to update this place. Brilliant service. Food cooked to order and priced the same or slightly cheaper than other outlets in the town. Ordered both cod and haddock all of which was superb. Chips fine but far too many! Well worth a visit!

Chips are good and the curry sauce is alright but when I asked for extra vinegar and the young staff laughed and put a pitiful amount on , and a elder lady stormed out as I walked in 🤷‍♀️ £5.50 for curry sauce and a large chips though BOSHHH

Reaaaaally tragic that this is the highest rated chippy in Whitstable. I think these guys write their own reviews. We’ve tried 3-4 different places on our trip, this was absolutely the worst. The fish and chips were probably the worst I’ve had in my life. More of a fish schnitzel than an authentic chippy.

Not impressed. Stayed nearby and was recommended by someone local. Fish very thin, little taste and batter poor. reminded me of the frozen fish portions you get in iceland. Chips not tasty either.

Seven Seas has just knocked the ball out of the Park! I have never had a bad meal from here but tonight is the best cod and chips I have ever eaten - anywhere! Always cooked to order, always clean and the staff always polite and friendly. Cannot praise them enough - Highly Recommended

Drove here after 24 mile journey only to find restaurant closed, takeaway only. Didn't fancy sitting in drizzle on a bench somewhere or hiking back 15 mins to car park. In the end we went to VC Jones, who have a restaurant operating and are happy to serve you at a table.

Visitors to Whitstable we were looking for “best chippy” to keep up with the town’s good “fishy vibes”. Ordered plaice and cod, offered choice on size and both cooked fresh to order.Wife delighted with plaice and my cod just fell into lovely white flakes,both fried in crispy thin batter (not over cooked).Chips (too many) were spot on .All eaten down on the beach as the sun set. Nothing left for the seagulls!!!

Well I've never had anything so discusting in my lifetime and I've had fish and chips from some excellent places. It's a shame these guys actually serve anything like what resembles "Fish and Chip" I say chip as only 1 was edible and the rest had more grease than my hair! The cod was more like the card from my cornflake box!

Both the plaice and cod was nice and an excellent battered sausage, chips were ok. Seating area was closed but hidden in there was a great selection of varied soft drinks in the fridge.

2 large cod and chips cooked two order nice thin batter only 4stars for atmosphere as it's a take away other wise all good

Items cooked fresh to order (no piling pre-cooked fish), batter is minimal and crispy. Proper chips. The menu is what you would expect from a fish and chip shop, the basics done perfectly.

Good fish for £4.40 I like a bit more, crispy batter. Still buying from here. Batter has been crispy. Child's fish or fishcake portions £5.70/£2.30 are ample for OAPs. Still good and efficient service by youngsters, well supervised by manager.

Good sized portions, nice quality food. Large chips was enough for us, fish was nice, kids had plenty of pie and nuggets. Good value...no gravy though for pie chips and mushy peas.

Really good experience here this evening. My son has an allergy. The allergy information here was on a clear, large poster. When we discussed what my son could have with the manager, he was friendly, helpful, and honest. Unfortunately, we couldn't get my son what he wanted and had to eat elsewhere, but we really appreciate the service we recieved here. Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience this week at a different eatery in Whitstable and had to write a bad review and report the other establishment. Thats why I think its particularly important to congratulate restaurants like Seven seas, that are leading the way and doing it the way it should be done. It doesn't always take a lot, but it makes a huge difference to anxious allergy sufferers like us. Big thanks.

I had ordered fish and chips from another f&c shop for last Saturday 19.3.22 which unfortunately had to replace its cooking range at the last minute, which I only discovered on Wednesday 16.3.22. This was for a Christian Aid quiz evening, requiring 121 meals. Rob, owner of Seven Seas, had no hesitation in making this many meals on the Saturday evening and providing them at the agreed time. What a saviour for me and the whole evening!!! Not only that, the 115 fish and chip meals and 5 big bangers in batter were praised as being delicious and hot and made a very succesful evening. I recently ordered from seven seas, I am very satisfied by my visit! As well as the food being delicious and the portion sizes fair, the staff were amazing! I was served by a lovely young ginger girl who was very helpful and polite! Thank you!

Decent quantity but average taste.

Consistently outstanding battered fish. Perfectly cooked, fresh produce and light crunchy batter - every single time. It's a lovely family run restaurant you can always rely on. Choose from large, medium or small cod all priced accordingly. FYI the batter is NOT dairy-free. The chips are very English - more like chunky deep fried potato bits than the sort you get in a restaurant (do not expect the more 'fries' style thick, tripple cooked, processed and way crispy sort). The prices are very reasonable. Sorry I didn't take a pic of the food but it was so good I forgot about photos and just ate it!

Seven Seas has mixed reviews but we found our cod and chips to be really tasty. The batter was fresh and the portions generous. Staff were friendly and I would recommend to others.

Pleasant staff, decent food. If you have read my previous reviews, you will note my preference for VC Jones. However, this venue is ideal if you are in a hurry as it’s never crowded.

Smallest, thinnest piece of cod I’ve ever had. They should be embarrassed serving that up. To add insult to injury it was swimming in oil. What a rip off nearly £5 for that. Used to be a regular customer but won’t be returning.

Great fish and chips, improved even more so in the last 6 months. Don't be in a hurry if you choose to queue, because everything is cooked fresh, but they do take phone orders for collection. Busy on Friday early evenings. Very nice staff, excellent hygiene and covid precautions.

First visit as on holiday and very tasty cod and chips! 😋 Covid restrictions still in place with both doors open and a safe distance between customers too! Only the youngsters present chose not to wear a mask inside but that's expected now with lockdown being lifted! 🤦

Staff aren’t particularly friendly/welcoming but I’ve been back three times in the last month simply because the food was cooked fresh and it was delicious each time! Large battered sausage and medium chips is enough to feed two. I ordered large last time and barely made a dent! Often waiting about 15 mins but worth the wait for fresh food I would say!

Unfortunately, not as great chips as have been in the past. We drive fir 40 mins to get here then eat on the beach. And I paid for Ketchup that I didn't receive. Shame.

Quick, hot and tasty chips fresh out of the fryer! Was very busy and not far from the sea front whether by walk or car. Would recommend every time.

Very good batter, fish and takeaway meal. Ordered a large Rock, medium haddock and large chips (not all for me). Both fish were cooked to flake rather than fleshy, which is my preference. Haddock was sublime and extremely tasty. Well done Seven Seas.

Asked for OAP cod and chips. Others had freshly cooked fish mine was small, hardly any fish to eat, already cooked and cold. Rubbish!!!

not happy with this experience at all. Terrible communication skills and ginger lady even went so far as to roll her eyes at me all because she couldn’t hear me, yet they make it so you have to order 2 metres away and wear a mask so this attitude wasn’t fair on my behalf I feel. Over all staff had a bad attitude and was not positive at all made the place feel unwelcoming :( . Chips were hardly cooked and very small portions however sausage was nice at the least .

Went here with a friend for a takeaway fish and chips ordered a small chips and small battered sausage as we went up to the till we asked the lady behind the counter if she could change our order to a large instead of a small (she had not prepared our Food whilst we requested this so there was no issue With us changing our order) After asking to change our order the lady behind the counter sighed obviously and very clearly rolled her eyes at me and my friend and had a negative attitude as if we were causing massive disruption! We had only asked to size up our order and her body language was disgusting!! Rolling her eyes at the customers and being very clearly RUDE! NOT IMPRESSED- ONLY GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE DISRESPECTFULLY TREATED BY THE STAFF!

My wife and I have used Seven Seas on many occasions and always found the quality of the Fish Excellent! The restaurant and the serving area is always clean and well presented. They always cook the fish in front of you, with a smile!

Simply the best fish and chips in Kent imho! Fish is always so fresh and the portions are huge. Really great people and the service is excellent. Highly, highly recommend if you’re anywhere near this area. Matt W
