Wonderful cod and chips. White soft tangy flesh on the fish was lovely. So tasty. Was still piping hot when I got home. Very generous portion of delicious chips. Couldn't eat them all mainly because I was poorly with a migraine. Finished off the chips next morning for breakfast and they were just as nice cold. Really nice owners. Lovely couple.

The best fish and chips by far in Maidstone, first time a couple of weeks ago, and I won’t be going anywhere else from now on I had cod and chips my daughter had burger and chips both very nice would definately recommend.

Fantastic fish and chips So fresh and tasty!! Crispy batter and lovely chips swathed in salt and vinegar. My favourite Friday night treat after a long week at work. The staff couldn't be nicer. Friendly and lots of banter. It makes you realise humans still exist in this way. Ones who can't still have a chat, ask you how you are and make you feel welcome. Can't recommend this place highly enough. So often I have been let down with greasy chips or soggy batter! Not here. Give it a try and support a great British tradition and a welcoming , hard working family business 👏

1st timer, 1st customer as you opened up we had 2 X open chips. And we can safely say they were the BEST chips we have had in a long time even better then chips from the seaside 😀 lovely guy serving and super friendly. we will be back 🥳🍟

Chicken Stripes one of the best I've had so far! Nice crisp, cooked to perfection in my opinion, they're nice juicy inside and well seasoned! Fish and Chips was AMAZING too and so the rest of the food!

My first time here and I’m seriously impressed. Even though the place was packed they got through orders quickly and still had time to be friendly and have a laugh with every customer. Fantastic local fish n chips shop. The owner is friendly, and so are the rest of the team. It's probably the best fish n chips in Maidstone. Cooked fresh and always tasty and value for money. They offer an OAP size for which is perfect for my folks. Family favourite fornfish n chips to take away.

So went here again recently after much persuasion after being left disappointed. This time couldn’t fault it chips were excellent especially loving the Greek chips. All the food we ordered was fresh hot and good quality.

since having a baby we’ve swapped swigging stiens down bierkeller to fish and chip friday from this lovely establishment. Highlight of the week now! Lovely food all cooked fresh to order, staff are welcoming and the banter is there! Generous portions too not like the scabby pots of curry sauce you get in some places that wouldn’t even be editable after swigging them stiens down bierkeller. More fool them people queing up for a McDonald’s when you have this a stone throw opposite! One of the only places that actually do a spam fritter too! Not even expensive too. Looking forward to next Friday already 🎣🍟

Used to get fish n chips from here and had a good rapport with the staff as we went here every week. Sadly, we stopped and will not go back because of bad customer service. Shame because the situation could have been easily resolved.

I have lived away from Maidstone for a long time (over 20 years) and I never forget Marinos. No fish and chip shop anywhere can better it. That's a fact! Went again at the weekend and it was as awesome as usual and the staff were as friendly as ever. I'm a bit biased as I think memories flood back being in there as a child and after a few drinks when older but i love the place and the accents. A maidstone bastion. Pretty much always a queue. Says it all. Hope its there for decades to come.

What can l say yet again a superb fish and chips best in the town and so missed when you had to shut because of a building problem. Ps tried another chip shop when you was closed and well............. no comparison

I was very disappointed with this place. The fish was over cooked, hard around the edges because of this and grey, the chips were undercooked…hard, the onion rings were very undercooked..tasted of raw batter..and everything was extremely greasy….it went in the bin. Even the cat wouldn’t eat the fish. Yuck. I reviewed on JustEat and they left a reply which has been bugging me ever since. They said I reviewed them by mistake and I was thinking of somewhere else, with a laughing emoji like it was funny I was so thick. This is impossible as I didn’t order from anywhere else and JustEat give you the option to review only from the place you ordered food from! Rude, telling me they had 31 years experience…well one would think that they could cook a bit of fish and some chips very well by now then…apparently not! It’s that kind of response that makes people boycott places. Which I will. Never again. If you accept that mistakes are made and apologise then that’s one thing, but to accuse your customers of basically being stupid and wrong is out of order. Terrible. If I could give no stars I would. Update…you can all see the reply…I rest my case. Do they think I’m lying? What would that achieve? Why didn’t I bring it in to show them…because I am housebound ….why didn’t I contact them..because I left a review instead and frankly didn’t see the point in calling them as I didn’t want any more food from them to replace the horrible stuff they sent out..trust gone! They also said it couldn’t have been them I ordered from because I ordered at 4:45pm but they don’t open until 5:00pm…it’s called ordering in advance, an option sometimes provided. You would think they know that. They obviously will say anything to divert attention from the content of my very honest review. I repeat..the food was inedible, grey overcooked fish..so over cooked that the batter had pulled away from the fish on one side, and raw chips and onion rings, like really raw. If they say they cook the chips and fish and the same time then I can only call BS on that….what is the fish sitting in the cases then? That’s already cooked! This must have been sitting out for a while to be so disgusting. My granddaughter could have made a better job of cooking this and she is 9. Rude people who don’t except their mistakes. How awful to talk to a customer like they have..well an ex customer now. Anything else Marinos? Bring it on….

Came here last week for the first time in ages. Great chips and the batter on the fish bites was the best I’ve had in a while - nice and crispy and fresh tasting! Sausage and saveloy weren’t bad either. Guys behind the counter were welcoming and up for a chat which was nice. Good to see this place is still going strong after so many years.

Thought I’d try this fish and chip shop for lunch and wow best chips and curry sauce I’ve had from a shop before chicken burger was great a real breast not all processed and put together. Fish cake was massive and very tasty. Will 1000% be returning thanks

Marino's is a family-owned business that is an oasis of quality in a sea of mediocrity. Proper old-fashioned chippy, food cooked freshly to order, well packaged in recyclable paper and cardboard, so it stays hot on the journey home. Friendly owners provide a true community service that is so well appreciated and so rarely found these days.

Best bit of fish I've had in ages

We have had fish and chips delivered several times during lockdown. I have to say Marino's from Hart Street are the best. They arrive really hot and beautifully cooked. And the very best thing is, no polystyrene trays, all recyclable cardboard

Such a good atmosphere and the fish is always cooked fresh infront of you. The fish is succulent covered with batter to die for.

This has to be my all time favourite family run Fish and Chip shop, the staff are so friendly, the food is excellent especially the Haddock, and they keep a very clean establishment. They also do the largest unsalted spam fritters, naughty but nice.

People if you want to know a secret, then marinos fish and chips is the place to be. Great friendly people, who are happy to engage in conversation. Fish and fish batter are second to none. Huge amounts of chips prices are good, plenty of choice, people's you won't be disappointed. Parking is awkward, double yellow lines, but you can park just outside.

French family today we went.to maidstone. So lovely when we arrived. The man was so friendly. He made us a large fish and chips so fresh. This was a super meal for the day. Never eat a fish and chips like it. We will come back to fond this quality for sure. The best!
