Didn't get exactly what I ordered. Ordered normal peas and n got mushy peas.Cod was undercooked,batter wasn't cooked looked anaemic. Overpriced for portion size. Small cod Compared with price I pay for a larger piece of cod else where. Won't be ordering from here again. I give 4/10 poor quality

Had a takeaway from here a couple of months ago. Decided to return and eat in their restaurant. Ordered 2 x cod and chips. Took our seats and could here the fryer going so was expecting hot freshly fried food. Unfortunately not. The cod was OK, the batter was a bit too crispy though. The chips were luke warm and soggy. Seems as though the fish was just reheated and the chip cooked hours earlier. Very dissapointed.

Delivery prompt and efficient. Food well portioned but lukewarm and chips had a light burnt taste.

Very disappointed I paid £55 odd and the cod was over cooked it was burnt! The chips were dry and rubbery and they got my order wrong for my burger mayo was put in it! When I asked for it not to be! I'm arligic to mayo so couldn't eat the burger.. So all the food ended up in the bin! Will never buy from hear agen! And I'm £55 odd down in the bank

Meal was okay chips tasted like they weren’t cooked and scampi was over cooked! And on a hot day you expect drinks to be cold but they were not! They were warm and no ice!!!! Attitude of the staff was disgusting!! I have never seen such horrible behaviour towards tourist, they two young girls behind the counter shouting at the tourist! DISGUSTING not worth £36 at all shocked at how bad the food and the attitude of staff was

The food was absolutely vile, the chips were obviously from the bottom of the fryer as it was all hard... you could have broken a window if you threw a chip at one... the food was cold and I wont be buying again from there

Ordered the cod bites… they were absolutely disgusting… tiny bits of hard batter with shreds of grey, hard fish inside… totally inedible except for one piece which was fresh but still very small. How can they send rubbish like that? They lost a customer tonight. So I ate greasy onion rings and baked beans because I was starving but yuck!

The codfish had so much bones and my kids didn’t eat it

Three of us ordered fish &chips. We ordered 3 teas. We ordered 3 rolls and butter. The order came,and we were very disappointed. The fish was very thin and hardly any batter coating. The rolls were not fresh. The tea was adequate,but not hot enough. Two portions were senior portions,but it was very poor for £8.19. The whole bill was over £31.00. This used to be a good restaurant for fish&chips,but sadly,no more. Will not return. Sorry.

Cold food. Ordered 3 chips, 2 sausage and a halloumi burger. Chips stone cold. Sausage was evidently very old, cooked a while ago. And the halloumi burger was soggy cold and greasy.

Went there today and i had a seniors fish&chips with what is suppose to be free mushy peas and my girlfriend had 2 sausage&chips.We had no drink and the bill was £18.50.The musy peas for a very small bowl are £2 so how are they free.They have told you the mushy peas are free but included the price on your seniors fish and chips.2 years ago you could get a seniors fish&chips with a coffee or tea(no mushy peas)for £6,25.I have noticed that there have been several changes of staff

Really average fish and terrible chips, we got a takeaway so couldn’t send them back, but they were barely cooked, not very enjoyable.

My sister & I have recently lost our mum & dad, and we decided to have some lunch at parents favourite restaurant. Unfortunately the restaurant has recently changed hands twice and we are really disappointed in the quality of the fish and the chips. The staff are friendly but this will be the last time we visit this restaurant. Phil

Arrived just in time to be the right temperature to eat straight away not too hot to have to be blowing too cool it and not cold to spoil it absolutely right 😃

Gutted about my last order they got it wrong and didn't read the note. Chips were cold and horrible.

Always order from Deep Blue as they will see from just eat orders. My 88 year old father really enjoys his cod or haddock and chips from here, this evening the chips were awful! Re -fried and just over cooked solid old chips , not what I would normally expect ! Unfortunately my father had a choking episode on said chip(s) as he started his meal and now 15 minutes later is still coughing and reaching . Disappointed is being kind , whoever decided recooked chips that tasted stale and were hard should think again about what they are serving their customers as it’s the customers that will keep you in business. Very very disappointed and upset about this

We often visit this restaurant when in Maidstone and normally the food is of good quality. However, on the last two occasions we have decided to eat there the Fish and Chips have been below their normal standards, or at least the standards we have found to be consistent over a period of 3 years. We called in last weekend and ordered Cod & Chips twice, we noticed that the normal older staff were not present but some youngsters were running the place. First up the female waitress was very polite and helpful so no complaints there but that’s where the positive impression ended. Having served up the Cod & Chips the chips were tough and overcooked and the batter on the fish was not much better. Maybe this was caused by fryer leaving his post while the food was cooking or that the chips were just reheated but either way for £ 21.00 it was a poor offering and not at all enjoyable. Due to this we are now likely not to return as this is the second time we have had a bad experience with the food and frankly it puts you off. Let’s hope that whoever is in charge looks at the situation and employs some experienced caterers to run the business and bring back the previous standards where the fish and chips were excellent.

We normally eat at the deep blue fish n chip shop and the service and food quality is allways excellent hot and fresh but when we got ours delivered the chips were almost cold and hard so we think we will stick to eating there in person then having the delivery

The Quality of the food was good and fresh, however somewhat underwhelming and disappointed at having paid £17 for 6 chicken goujons x1 burger and a large chips only to find a “large” chips £3.99 chips consisted of a box that was less than half full and barely enough to feed a small child, let alone two people…

Gravy tub had spilt out so only got half and was that thick I could of hung wallpaper with it

Soft batter on all three fish meals, chicken overcooked and chips looked like leftovers when in their boxes, overall the meal helps with dieting.

Looked for a takeaway at short notice on boxing day. The food arrived quickly, similar price to others, but very very tasty. Will definitely use again.

These are the best fish and chips in town. The food is always piping hot when it arrives. It’s not too greasy, perfect crispy batter. We will carry on ordering from here. 10/10

Lovely fish bites & chips. Ordered for 1. Chips were hot & fresh cooked & fish bites were uniform in size the batter not crunchy crisp but was delicious all the same. However too big a portion for me alone so wasted some. I will reorder but when i have someone to share with.

Both meals were excellent Scampi & Haddock The large Haddock was a decent size unlike other outlets

Loved it last time, this time not so good. Small fish and £27 is just too much money for fish and chips with 2 sauces for 2 people. Won’t be buying from here again.

Great service and generally quite nice food - arrived hot and in good order time. Fish was, for me, a little on the greasy side but tasted good in spite of that. Expensive for fish and chips though at over £13.00 which did include delivery - but I felt I deserved a treat.

Really impressed! Great fish, chicken, chips etc and very speedy delivery. One small request though, is it possible to some Kent Korkers or similar sausages? I know people like the old school plain sausage, just think something slightly better quality could be good! All great though, thanks!!

Wow, this was the best fish and chip delivery I’ve had. Lewis’s was the best in town but by a country mile this was better. The food was really hot, I mean volcanic hot. The cod was really white and flaky plus the batter was lovely. Even the mushy peas were hot and that never happens. Thank you to the staff of Deep Blue that was the best fish and chips I’ve had delivered EVER.

How can a chip shop do such awful chips? Everything here tastes like its been reheated. I know this is likely to do with waste but when you are charging just short of £3.00 for a handful of chips - the least you can do is cook them fresh that day

Early evening Saturday visit. Great tasting Cod & Chips, decent sized portions, friendly staff, table service and very good value for this central location. Recommended. Tip; arrive by 5:30pm latest on a Saturday for restaurant service.

Me & my family decided we wanted to have fish & chips so decided to go here, as we have been here before and they are always good. We both had large cod and chips with mushy pea, the large cod fish is so large that I shared mine with my daughter. Nice and crispy batter and with beautiful flaky cod inside, the chip were also great but could have been larger to go with the large cod. The staff were great and restaurant was nice and clean. We will be back soon!
