Marino Fish Bar in Maidstone

Usually 100 % but I had a horrible bit of cod this week.

I get a business can close whenever they want. But 20 mins early is upsetting. What makes it worse is the staff inside just laughed when I tried the door and it was locked.

Picked up some extra crispy chips ( on request today) and was not disappointed. We'll done but not too oily , good portion and very friendly staff. Highly recommend

Sadly we had two things missing, which ruined my daughters and our dinner, as we then had to cook her something, and ours went cold. Never had anything missing from here before, so a real shame. Been credited, but takeaway night ruined. Hopefully won’t happen again, as we love this chippy.

Always freshly cooked fish & chips. Quick service from supper efficient counter team.

both kebabs had red cabbage only and no salad as ordered so tasted horrible. Chips were hard and covered in crispy batter bits from fish, and we hadnt ordered fish. Salad has been missed before and is a major part of kebab so not happy.

Cold food slimey cucumbers no where near as good as normal

Chips were very fresh for a change and tasty. However, the fish batter was hard and crazily oversalted - didn’t ask for salt unless it’s in the batter - never ever had hard batter from a fish n chip place. Theres mega crispy but then there is hard almost stale batter unless it has been lying around for a while. Disappointed kids refused to eat it. Def avoid now would try to support local.

I always order via the app. However tonight despite ordering 35 minutes before I wanted to pick up I still had to wait 15 minutes when I arrived! It doesn't matter if you order and pay in advance because they serve the waiting queue first. Their excuse was they were very busy. I accept that but why did they continue to accept online orders? On top of that the pie was stone cold. We will be going elsewhere next time.

Awful food. This used to be a good fish and chip takeaway but standards seemed to have going way down. Chips were just one huge clump and extremely greasy. This is the 3rd time it has disappointed - won’t be using again

After a tough weekend we decided on a treat my wife had fish and chips and I went for the burger, decent size portions and a tasty burger but the chilli sauce was a bit too sweet for me

I haven’t had fish and chips from here in years, but the food was just as good, if not better, than I remember. I will definitely be ordering again.

Good quality large battered sausage and chips. Very fast service. Parking spots right outside.

Thought we would give marinos at Bearsted a try ordered 1 small cod 1 plqin jumbsausage and large chips. total cost 15,45. It was very poor quality chips were awful a lot of black on the chips where they had not been peeled properly tasted awful the fish was very dry sausage okish, for what we paid it was very dissappointing, we won't be going back.

Ordered mine by phone ready in 20 minutes. Service was fast. 2 Large Cod and chips was enough for 4 people. No more expensive than other places. We'll prepared and cooked. Enjoyed by all. I would recommend Marinos.

Ordered when it said 25-35 minutes, time kept going up and finally arrived 2 hours later. Pitta like cardboard, meat cold and no salad. Have ordered from Marino’s many times but usually collect, food is always good. This is the first time I’ve ordered via just eat. Won’t be doing that again

2nd time,chips were awful,worst chips I have had in any chip shop. Chicken kebab was tough ,big chunks How anyone keeps going back is beyond me,that's it for me and it was expensive

We bought fish and chips 25th May. The fish was not fresh probably frozen . The chips were awful all soggy most of it went in the bin.

Unfortunately our fish and chips ordered 12.05.24 was totally digusting, the fish batter was so soggy it was stuck to paper we ended up loosing half the batter on both fish, & the chips were rock hard and under cooked. It was an expensive order too approx £40. In my eyes way to over overpriced and unfortunately will be not be returning again, I wish i had read the negative reviews on here before ordering.

Our 2 chicken shish kebabs were horrible as salad was missed but red cabbage included, they tasted weird, not nice at all. So that's £24 pounds worth and looks like Just Eat will only refund for one. I phoned Marinos but they told me Just Eat have to deal with it which is too late for our treat take away, not happy at all, ruined dinner and all cost sixty pounds!

I would recommend this chip shop, Ordered here several times and not had a bad meal from them once. Tasty food,.Good portions and value for money.

apart from ordering a can of lilt but got a rio drink instead everything was good

the fish was good but the disapointment was that i thought i was ordering fish ans chips and only recieved fish wish in my mind was an expensive piece of fish sorry

Kebab tasted off chips cold chicken donar was ok but salad was horrible and pitta bread soggy use to love there food now won't be getting it from there any more

Great food . Freshly cooked fish . And they burgers aswell as very tasty kebab . Does get very busy on Friday early evening. But have plenty of friendly staff to serve . Highly recommend 👌

Haven’t ordered from here for a while, have to say was totally amazed, the cod was cooked perfectly. Soft and fluffy inside, accompanied by golden crispy chips. Went down a treat!

I asked for salt and vinegar, granted they gave me salt and vinegar but must of had the lid fall off the salt and left it overpowering and couldn’t eat it , fish batter was soggy also real shame as haven’t eaten at marinos for a long time and always rated it .

Had Cod and chips and it was disgusting! Tasted like old fish left over from lunch time. Batter was hard and fish was brown round the outside and dry. NEVER NEVER GOING AGAIN

Never happened before but the fish was missing I called them and they not only redelivered a bigger piece but a big box of extra fresh chips too within ten mins!! Best chippy anyway but exceeded in customer service :)

I’ve had my fair share of kebabs in my lifetime so far and I can honestly say this is the best one I’ve ever had portions are unbelievable and the food quality is absolutely exceptional

I have ordered quite a few times recently from Marino . Sadly yesterday and today the food wasn’t up to their usual standard .

I ordered here before a month ago, and was good, so ordered again, but one of the Cod was obviously reheated, and was dry and inedible. What a shame.

Food time kept changing. Chips were warm but saveloy was cold

consistently good for the last 25 years I have been going there, Staff are very professinal and the food is freshly cooked o perfection

Food is excellent. Always value for money. As with many takeaways the delivery apps now mean it takes longer to get served in person. Although I had to wait I felt that Rose gave very good service. Deducted a star for the wait.

Not good Christmas eve just a simple order baterd sausage and chips had to wait for sausage to be cooked then it went to someone else cooked again then went to deliver roo finally got my order after 26min no apology from owner just thank for waiting 40 years been using shop it will be the last

The order was cold on arrival and the chips were soggy . The fish was very greasy and the vegan burger was over cooked and hard at the edges. I am very disappointed with the order.

Took a long time to assign a driver which was no fault of the restaurant's, very nice food as always and decent sized portion of chips

i placed my order at 4.36 , it wasnt long and a driver was asigned.i was given 3 lots of different times. its saying delivered at 5.55 pm but it acually arrived at 6.05 pm. stone cold .not happy at all.

The best customer service I have ever had. The food was lovely we had the Cod was so tasty and light.. chips were delightful and husband had a kebab which was massive and tasty. . pitta bread all soggy by the red cabbage, chicken hard and dry . chips tasted they had been reheated tasted awful not fresh. overall it was discusting .the only thing that was ok was the spring roll. normally everything is nice and fresh but this was awfull today.

Probably the worst kebab I’ve ever eaten. Tiny portion size (though I only had two bites and realised the meat was cheap and nasty so threw it away-ordered from a better place immediately), chips were ok, but, again, small portion and cold. Said they’d refund me. That was weeks ago and nothing. Avoid.

100% the worst chicken shish I’ve ever had! Wasn’t even a shish as the chicken was clearly oven cooked, bland and dry. Supposed to be a large but was tiny and the contents didn’t even fully fill a small pita. No chilli pepper or slice of lemon Told me 20 mins but after arriving at the 20 min mark waited another 20 mins. Maybe stick to the great fish and chips you do and avoid doing chicken shish because that was terrible and I feel ripped off.

Ordered Lílt as my drink and received Rio, which I don't like and wasn't even an option on the drinks menu.

I honestly could’ve gone lower with the review as they missed part of my order, however it was handled extremely well and a replacement plus extras was delivered promptly. Very lovely staff, highly recommend 😊

Absolutely rude staff, i have an accent & when ordering mocking my accent. Portion size was overpriced. I am shocked at the poor level of service. If you look different & speak with an accent do not go here theyre not welcoming & repeat your order in a condescending manner. I see the response to any reviews is met with defence as opposed to recognising changes need to happen. My kids once loved this chip shop but never again
