I nearly fell off my perch when I found out the cost of a fish dinner for two at what was Mother Kelly's in Portchester. I left this takeaway, went a quarter of a mile up from there and visited Tony's bar in Saunders house, Leith Avenue. Got two nice bits of fish cooked to order/ perfection and more than enough chips for the both of us. Sorted.

Did a click and collect…. Spot on ready and hot 👍😎

The food was delicious and hot, the service was excellent and friendly. The atmosphere was very clean and chic, will definitely be going again.

We returned to this fabulous restaurant for the second time this year, having discovered it last year with a group of girlfriends. The service , as ever, was superb….as was the food. Friendly and professional…..from the greeting by our lovely host (Gio I think?) to the lovely Emma who looks after us throughout our meal. Thank you to the whole team……..it was certainly worth driving from Somerset for!!

Very good fish and chips. Was a tad greasy on the bottom, but very juicy cod.

I don’t often order fish and chips because I’m really fussy but I got to give a big thumbs up it was fresh hot not one bit of grease and the chips wasn’t floppy perfect well recommend I will order again if they always turn up like that amazing dinner thank you

As a walk in customer to the restaurant last night at 7.25, the place was about 25% capacity.we were swiftly told they were not accepting more sit down customers. When Iasked if we could order take away the look from staff said was unbelievable, we are short staffed they said, with 3 people operating. No further explanation given or offer to serve iwthba wait? Website lists opening to 21.00. Poor experience and will not return. We visited Highlands Road Chippy in Fareham and took home the best fish and chips I've had in a long time, served without any issues.

Called into the wet fish shop on 28th August at 3.55pm . Lovely selection of fresh fish. I asked for a whole Brill to be weighed to find the cost . Reasonable price at £18 . I asked the fish monger to filet the fish for me . I was advised he couldn't do it because the prep area had been cleaned down !! The shop doesn't close until 5pm . Extremely disappointed about the lack of service offered. They are supposed to be a specialist shop and filleting fish is a part of that . Needless to say they lost the sale and I felt compelled to give a negative review. Perhaps they can reflect and try harder.

6 years ago I ate fish there. but today it was not the same fish. the dough was 2 cm thick, the fish was not cooked through, soaked in old oil. I could feel the fish in my stomach the next day. something terrible.

Had a great meal at halal Admiral’s Fish and Chips. The fish was crispy and tender, and the chips were freshly cooked and made with fresh potatoes (no frozen). Recommended😊

Since I moved to Portsmouth, this has been one of my locals, always a welcoming place and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. They have a greaat sense of community and what you don't see in many public houses nowadays,,, a bar billiards table!!

This place has been getting gradually worse for the last month. That's it today, never again. Really bad chips. Dirty oil, undercooked and greasy.

The worst takeaway I’ve ever had, revolting. Chips were lukewarm and soggy, my battered sausage was completely inedible, the fat it was cooked in was very dark brown and goodness knows how old. I’ll never eat anything from there again
