watched the driver drive round on map for 45mins food stone cold , time kept being pushed back 2 x sprite zero also ordered for a diabetic hence the zero but sent 1 normal sprite 🤦‍♂️ so have now gotta order from somewhere else

Amazing food but missing mushy peas

Visited on a Monday lunchtime, during a trip to Portsmouth. I was the only one in the shop. Ordered chips and curry. Sad to say chips were brown, chewy and tasteless. Curry didn't taste of anything either. Seems they were warmed up weekend leftovers. Wouldn't go there again, avoid.

Order dinner just around after 5ish and it turned up around half 6 chips was rather cold and fish cake was like rubber not happy with it

We had a wonderful walk along the beach on New Year's Eve and then fancied fish and chips for lunch - thank you google for recommending this chippie, without a doubt the best cod and chips I have ever had - thank you

Ordered through Just Eat for a family tea. One person ordered a portion of fish with their chips. Others had scampi or sausage etc. When the delivery arrived, there was no fish. Very disappointing. The price of the fish has been credited, but it doesn’t really make up for the fact that one family member did not get the meal that they were looking forward to. Very poor and lax service.

the chips were so good. crispy and fluffy. the fish and burger were super greasy though, so none of us were able to finish the meal.

Cod squad is normally fantastic. However, today they didn’t read notes and the Cod was rubbery (best way to describe tbh)

The food is great, but I did feel priority was given to the Just Eat delivery guys. Huge portions

I spent £60 on food and it all tasted as if it had been cooked at lunchtime and reheated. It’s the first time I have had to complain about the quality of food from the Cod Squad.

Really tasty, well cooked cod. Always cooked fresh. Lovely crispy batter. Chips are good too and the portions are generous. Staff are friendly and polite. Prices are really reasonable.

The food arrived cold and all the chips were stale, old and rubbery. Very disappointing as its normally quite good. :(

So again this place has gone down hill even more than ever ....so we ordered food on just eat ......we left a very clear message on the order on how to deliver the food .......and yet again our message wasn't read yet again ....what is the point on putting messages on delivery of ur food.....the delivery guy doesn't read them ......totally not ordering again ....an hour wait for lukewarm food ......disgusting.....we will collect hit food from another chippy ....lost alot of friends and family over the last few months this chippy has ......terrible reviews .....

Order a pea fritter, young lad laughs and says 10 minute wait for it, chips were abit crispy and tasted like they had been refried a few times, could have been where I come in at 830, I got a feeling the young lady was in a awkward position due to the young lad I'm guessing son of owners by the way he was acting

I had my order confirmed at 18.17 Now at 20.49 my food has not even been collected from the cod squad which closes at 9pm your food tracking says delivered at 21.10 how can this be I wish to cancel my order and be refunded immediately

We have been ordering fish and chips from here for the last 5 years but have noticed the quality has dropped recently. Last night the fish was cold and the chips had been refried and were chewy and inedible. Very very disappointed.

Would give No stars , never recieved my order the restaurant was very unhelpful and rude.

the burger bun was inedible. so hard I could have broken a tooth. pretty cold food. overly greasy! I always order my chippy from here so very surprised at the bad quality of this order??? usually the best chippy in town!

The Chips had been cooked and then good again, the pie was soggy as heated in the microwave. By the time we received our order it was luke warm.

Will NOT be eating food from here ever again. The oil has not been changed in ages( I'm a chef of 25 yrs) so I know what I'm talking about , most greasy foods ever, all you can taste is old cheap hydrogenated fat that should be changed and equipment cleaned out regularly. Few years ago this place was one of the best in area , It's changed hands or staff now it's gone down hill. On a posative note it arrived fast and warm.

Normally exceptional, however today the cod batter was greasy and not crispy at all. Also requested a lemon slice with my cod but apparently not available????

food was bland there was no salt and vinegar on the chips the sausages were part cooked. the curry sauce was watery the cod was dry inside overall the food it self was horrible they need to sort out the fryer cooks I wouldn't give them 4.4 star rateing

It’s been two hours and the food still hasn’t been collected from the store, the store have been contacted and confirmed this, now I’ve been asked to review the food that was delivered at 8pm and it’s only 7.34pm so no nothing delivered, nothing to review other than terrible just eat

Most bland fish and chips we’ve had for some time. Friendly chaps that served us - Polite, etc. The food was just bland. Soggy chips and batter. Each bite was chewing oil. Read loads of lovely reviews about how good the food is. Is this true and we came on an off day or are these biased reviews from mates.

fish was missing,chips were chewy and dried up,the mushy peas were slushy.phoned the shop and they were adamant they sent the fish and would do nothing about it.i can only assume it was a flying fish that flew away on the way to us

Very good fish and chips from the Cod Squad. The best I have found in Portsmouth and Southsea so far. Perfectly cooked crisp, thick cut chips and well cooked cod with a nice thin crisp batter. The regular portions were more like a large from some other chip shops and the meal was decent value at £11.70 for regular cod, regular chips and mushy peas. Highly recommended.

Never arrived cod squad no help when I called. I’m unable to find online chat and chat actually talk to anyone, I’d prefer to just get my money back but Just eat always seem to give it back as a credit which is unfair . So now our dinner is with a just eat driver cheeky git

Quality chips, beautifully cooked fish

We never received our order, spoke to company they blamed just eat, tried to call just eat. Never answered as it was a trading line instead, got an email saying it was delivered when clearly we received nothing. My husand went to local chippy to buy.

Ordered cod squad, ordered lots of times before never a problem and tonight they didn't deliver my food.. spoke to them they said contact just eat gave me was invalid.. disgusting service such a shame

Being the closest fish and chip shop to my house we go here quite a lot, reasonably priced and quick service. Most of the time the food is great but occasionally something can be a bit off but not dealbreaking, our recent trip had out fish be a bit overcooked but 90% of the time we have no issue, thats all thats stopping me giving a 5/5

Lemon slices does not come with your fish and chips, buy your own, come prepared! Chips are refried, can taste the oil, ewww. 50p per ketchup sachet, god forbid I needed more than two. :O wouldn’t recommend, will not return.

Good sized portions but (freshly cooked) chips were soggy - not sure how you manage that - and curry sauce was watery and tasteless. Also a mystery how you manage that 🤷‍♂️

This is a first rate Chip shop I would recommend to anyone and everyone, I always get great service and the staff are very attractive, you will see exactly what I mean when You try it Yourself.

We always get our fish and chips etc...here .but tonight the food was horrible...I had chicken and chips ....you normally get a chicken breast ...but tonight it was a chicken leg ....chips were disgusting ........it ended up in the bin .... Shocking food tonight ....where it's normally really lovely.......

It was disgusting. No one at it. Most of the food was hard. Food was either double cooked or undercooked. Worst food ever. Would not being going again and do not recommend.
