Sadly changed hands. Around the time of the changeover to new owners.. I waited patiently for nearly an hour for table order to arrive (despite hardly any customers in seating or takeaway). Original owner (very nice chap you all know) was helping out and as my order had not arrived he personally arranged the reorder.. This also never arrived as it had been given to someone else as a takeaway. Not a happy bunny. Place has gone to the dogs. Avoid:-(

Saveloy, chips with curry sauce. After less than a 10 min drive to get home the chips were cold, Saveloy dry and hard and curry sauce tasteless. To make matters worse, we had also ordered 2 x fish and chips only to find that the fish hadnt been packed and yes we had been charged. We were refunded the price of the 2 pieces of fish a couple of days later.

We bought 3 plaice and small chips to take away and enjoy them eating at the beach. However to our disappointment all of plaice were raw on the edges, and for the first time it had quite a few bones! Even though these were three portions for three people we were given only two tartare sauces. Two of plaice were put in one box separated by a paper bag however this wasnāt a good idea as plaice got stuck to the paper and separating it ended up being just one big mess, also the butter was too thick and somewhat undercooked. We were not happy with our choice of fish shop it spoiled our afternoon. Next time it will be back to our favourite fish shop in Deal. Sorry for no photos included with this review. We didnāt think of taking photos of the dinner failure at the time.

Iāve waited 6 weeks to write this review. Itās considered because I know Hospitality has been difficult since Covid. We went to this restaurant to celebrate our 30th anniversary - my partner had chosen it over other restaurants near us in Dorset. It was a fabulous stormy day with great views from the dining room. We were welcomed and given a perfect table - āstickyā - but never mind itās a big day! Had a lovely glass of English sparkling and then our starters arrived. Mine had congealed food on it, clearly left over from a previous service. The server did a double take too but decided to ignore itā¦and so did I. (I know that, at this point I should have said something but I just didnāt want to ruin our meal. And, by the way, I donāt think it should be up to the customer to complain, the staff should apologise and replace immediately.) We ordered another glass of wine which just didnāt turn up until we asked again at least 20 mins later. Small things are now accumulating... This is how an expensive meal goes from poor to pitiful. Our mains came (we didnāt mind that it was very slow - it was a Sunday and we were there to enjoy the moment). The additional vegetables were just rock hard. My fish had some unrecognisable āinnardsā - not roe. We had fully intended to stay for pudding, coffee, dessert wine etc etc but we just looked at each other (30 years of dining out at great restaurants together) and decided to call it a day. We were so deflatedā¦ So disappointing. To the restaurant: please take notice of our comments. We want lovely restaurants to go to in Dorset - think about what youāre being told in good faith and up your game.

Whenever I'm in Cleethorpes I always try and get a fish supper from here. Decent friendly service from staff and other customers (local residents). Ordering from the specials menu generally works out cheaper and portion sizes are still generous. Card payment is accepted which is a bonus. I went in one hour before closing and the gentleman frying put on fresh Haddock.
