A very strange pizza place where you can only order pizza after 3 pm. Everything is covered in batter and deep fried with the haggis literally dripping fat, although it was tasty (!)

Strictly for take out, but nice food at a nice price from a pleasant owner. We both got the fish and chips, so can't advise about other dishes, but we truly enjoyed our dinners.

Went twice,first time chips were like twigs, it was late so so will go again. so two days later got pie and chips, and fishcake and chips, he pie had been kept warm for hours so dry, pastry was like cardboard , fish cake was dried up and cold.

Great range of dishes - they make all kinds of food. Very friendly service. Ideal for our self-catering group none of whom wanted to cook evening meals after a day out

Great pizza, super speedy delivery and staff are lovely. We order regularly and they really look after us. No complaints.

Really good fish and chips, very fresh with light crispy batter. Ate them admiring the view from the old bridge. Highly recommended.

My wife and myself are in the area visiting local castles and following a 5hr car journey decided to have a chippy tea, food was cooked to order and very tasty, pop in if your in the area, very nice

Oddfellows in Haydon Bridge is worth a visit. Today we tucked into substantial and delicious toasties. The Triple cheese toastie is totally sublime. Our friend described the Bacon, Brie and cranberry as a taste sensation! All topped off with Iced latte and an Americano. The warm Date and oat slice hit the spot. Many thanks Rosie! 😊

We’ve tried to buy decent fish and chips since relocating back to West Northumberland. Our disappointment and quest came to an end after we visited Haydon Bridge Fish & Chip shop. Succulent fish. Crispy batter well done, as requested. Big firm chips, no small scrappy ones. £7 a portion. The best fish and chips we’ve had for many years. No aftertaste of stale oil either. They do pizzas and kebabs too. Throw in humorous staff and what more can you ask for? They only take cash though.

I had haggis and chips tonight . Freshly made they advertised. The haggis must have been under the warmer for at least 2 hours it was discussing the dogs weren’t keen either.

Friendly service, nice and quick. Good choice of chippy stuff and pizzas etc. Batter was nice on fish and chips well cooked and plentiful. Will definitely call again.

I ordered a medium chicken kebab and was really disappointed, a cheap naan with less than a chicken breast full of chicken, the salad was really small, I asked for extra and they didn’t add it to my order.

We went in a few days ago on our way back from Alston. The place has clearly been taken over and completely transformed. They now do pizzas and kebabs and are much busier, but I'm pleased to say that the fish and chips were as good as ever. The only slight negative was that they no longer take cards, which I think is a backward step in these Covid days. As the cash machine in Haydon Bridge is currently out of action following a ramraid, this meant my Mum and I had to share a chips as we didn't have quite enough for two full portions, but otherwise all good.

wow, where do I start...for many years this was a great chippy , it has changed hands a couple of times and gone downhill fast. I can confirm it has now hit the bottom. Upon unwrapping the Fish and chips looked like they had been fried in old engine oil not golden but a nasty strange brown colour...tasted like they had been cooked in old engine oil too. Straight in the bin it went and a waste of £20. So do yourself a solid and avoid.

After reading some positive reviews for this fish & chip shop at Haydon Bridge we thought we would give it a go. We came away very disappointed. Fish & chips i have to say were the worst we have ever had & I hate to waste food, but we couldn't eat them. Batter on fish soggy in the middle & hardly any fish plus chips had a strange taste to them. To top it off very expensive, if it had been good I wouldn't have minded paying the price. Sorry but we won't be returning.

Just reopened this week with new owners. Great addition to the village. Well priced menu. Now does Pizzas and kebabs as well as fish and chips. Will certainly return.

Whopping high quality fish and yummy chips. I think they were a little overwhelmed by the number of people. Took a while, but well worth the wait.

Asked for chicken and chips still frozen in the middle certainly not use again chips where luke warm

The food here would of been good if it had only been hot. Unfortunately everything (fish, sausage and chips) was all lukewarm. Very disappointed!

Popped in after a long walk in the area. Delicious fish, large portion, enjoyed watching a heron looking for its own fish in the river.

We have had a fish supper every other week since this chippy was taken over. In the beginning there were several issues which were corrected with no questions asked, but as time has gone on the food is perfectly cooked with no "dead" fat smells, the place is spotlessly clean and the price is unbelievable. So reasonable that it is exactly as Pensioners price. Thank you boys, it is a real treat.

Visited this fish and chip shop whilst visiting the area. Only one table in the takeaway for sit in customers. It sat 5 of us ..could sit 6. Delicious fish and chips and extras. Good sized portions. Friendly staff and very clean premises. Would highly recommend

Called into Haydon Bridge Chippy on my way back from Carlise.. Wish i never bothered, food was cold when i eventually got it, service was horrendous..Got the order wrong & when i politely asked to change it, i got a bit of a grunt along with no appology..If your thinking of calling here whilst staying in nearby area, i would travel the little bit further to Hexham to find a good chippy..John

I have been to this chippy a handful of times now since it changed ownership and I must say the fish and chips have been lovely.we've also had the sausage and pies and all equally as nice well done and welcome to the village

Visited today, really well cooked fish and chips, well presented in a box. The shop was immaculate and the shop owner in a white coat also, very lucky to have this quality fish and chip shop in our village

This establishment changed ownership 2 weeks ago and what a shame. The food was ok but the service was awful. They need to get organised and produce more. Waited over half an hour to get served, food now in a box rather than wrapped in paper so food cooled very quickly.

Haydon Bridge is easy to miss since it was bypassed some years ago. Down by the river remains a good stop for a break if you are needing one on the Carlisle to Newcastle journey.

The couple were so friendly and the fish was freshly battered and cooked, very tasty! Reasonable price too.

Travelled from Carlisle to sample the fish and chips after a recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed, absolutely delicious, top notch. Well worth the journey. Highly recommend!

We are lucky enough to live nearby" The fish and chips" and love to treat friends and family when we can. Great taste at a good price! It's a takeaway, not a real restaurant though.

We have been regulars here for several years. Liked how fish was cooked to order. However on our last few visits found fish portion smaller but our biggest complaint is the batter. Way over thick and on our last visits more batter than fish.

Indudablemente maravilloso pescado y patatas fritas! Las patatas fritas son luz, fresco y muy sabrosa. A menudo ellos aquí después de nuestros paseos frecuentes en la zona y que nunca me decepcionó, a diferencia de muchos lugares.

If you are staying at Shaftoes B&B. Then the Fish and Chip is extremely handy as just across the road!

Typical English Fish and Chips. The portion was enough for two. Deep fried so may be a bit on the greasy side for some.

Great fish 'n chips and fish always cooked to order, so always excellent. Have lots of other goodies on their menu as well. Best in the area.

Sorry but the chips were very greasy, left an awful aftertaste. Fish a bit small and batter was soggy i prefer crisp and freshly cooked

Everything cooked fresh to order - so you might have a bit of a wait - but it's worth it!! The have a good range of other things if you don't want fish - but that's certainly their speciality. It is only a take-away but well worth a visit.

Fish and chips were really delicious. The batter was very tasty but light. I am not too good with fried fish, however this fish did not make me I'll. it was great.
