We have been using this restaurant for years and have always found the food - both take-away and eat-in - and the staff top notch. This is a meat-free chippie, so no pies or saveloys, just freshly cooked fish. And the chips are fried in high-quality groundnut oil, which gives them a better taste. Consequently, not cheap as chips, but you only get this sort of quality when you pay for it.

The food is good, friendly staff, reasonable prices, large portions. Sometimes the food is not quite ready when you go and pick it up but it doesn't matter (they might give you some free chips while you're waiting). We've been getting our fish and chips from here for many years now.

Boobas makes great play on cooking each fish to order which means ringing in advance or being prepared to wait for take away orders. It also suggests freshness and quality at the fore as it presents itself as a premium fish and chip outlet...and prices accordingly... I have given it 3 goes and each time the cod has been wet and mushy not firm and chunky..better fish and prices at neptunes..the standard place around the corner ..

after ordering you get hummus & pitta free. When your enormous plate of fish & chips with salad arrives you also get free pickled sweet & sour cucumber. The fish is really fresh and beautifully cooked with a choice of batter or matzo meal which makes the light fish even lighter. The parking is not good but you can either park round the corner or in the Harvester car park (if there's room) opposite.

We actually ordered a takeaway from Deiveroo. On the menu was Plaice with no mention that you only got one half. You could have had chips or a salad or both. We chose Plaice & salad and the cost was £44.38. Expensive and not value for money.

I have eaten here many, many times. It's the best fish abd cops I have tasted anywhere in the UK ir overseas. It's not a fish and chip "shop" but a restaurant, so if the price seems high, that's the reason. All cooked fresh when you order and they can cook it in matzo meal, which is much lighter than batter. Huge portions, so don't hesitate to order the smaller size fish! Well worth every penny.
