Well like all the many other reviews this place is HUGELY overpriced ! and the food is worse than a prison meal ! The main photos of them lovely long chips and thick fish with batter is NOT what is being served ! £24+ for 2 cod + chips. The 'cod' if there actually was any inside the overcooked batter ! The batter was overcooked and tastless. No tissues given, just sheets of greaseproof paper, like the old school toilet rolls. The chips were all small, burnt or what you'd find in the corner of a well used fryer ! The seating is terrible as you need to wedge your body in and out of the tiny gaps at the tables. This was 'supposed' to be a memorable meal ! Totaly ruined ! We were so angry the food quality was disgusting and we had paid over £24 for it ! We almost got charged 50p !!!!! for a small sachet of tomato sauce. If so many people are reviewing the same 1 star about the food quality and lack of fish.....SORT it out ! Stop ripping people off !

I've been meaning to visit Bloom since it opened but never found the time. My daughters birthday gave us the opportunity so booked a table. Arrived and the welcome was beyond friendly. I had written in the notes on booking that it was my daughters birthday, and she was brought a virgin cocktail with sparklers. Nice touch. Ordered 2 sharing platters between 4 of us, and all I can say is the food and portions service all perfect defiantly the best we ve eaten in Middlesbrough all agreed . there was so much food that had to put some sides on another table. We had 2 desserts and again my daughter was comped making her feel special. We had a bottle of red and some soft drinks and bill reasonable could nt get 4 meals in a rubbish chain carvary for what we paid. Well done to the chefs and front of house for the experience and would defiantly recommend.

This was a surprise find. I was actually on my way to a well known noodle restaurant when I came across this little beauty! Spent many happy hours at the OB in Cape town down at the V &A and having checked it was the same chain. I went in! For a Monday it was busy - yes they had an offer on - but I did notice that most people were eating the platters. Very friendly staff, very nice vibe, not too noisy but busy enough to make it enjoyable. Food came freshly cooked, really tasty and thoroughly enjoyable. I had the fried haddock and fries, with a side of grilled veg. Really good value for money and amazing. Would definitely would recommend!

my wife and I have been to this cafe several times over the past few years and have always found the owner and staff to be really friendly and accomodating. All this changed yesterday when we were treated most abruptly and rudely by a tall lady with glasses, who made our trip memorable for all the wrong reasons. so much so we left without ordering . Its a Great shame because of this experence it will be the last time we will be visiting sorry

If you have a dog with a disability - our small yorkipoo had surgery to both hind legs 2 weeks ago - don't visit this cafe! It says Dog friendly on the door but we went in with our Yorkipoo in a small dog buggy today and a rude woman working there came over to us to fiercely tell us we would have to put him on the floor under the table as he could not stay in his buggy. Stating 'it wasn't allowed!' I told her he had just had surgery on both hind legs and she showed no sympathy, compassion or even common courtesy, at all. The customers sitting by the table our friends had reserved for us said they had no problem with the buggy being beside them, but she said she had a problem with it, so we left. I must point out that it wasn't easy to leave the cafe as there was a HUGE child's pram in the way of the door!! Obviously it's not a health and safety reason that we wasn't allowed to stay; as no one was getting past that buggy across the doorway if there was a fire! Tbh if she had come over and said with regret 'oh I'm sorry we can't allow dogs in the cafe in a buggy" I would have taken it much better but instead she was rude, aggressive and to all in our party she appeared to be an out and out dog hater! If you want a true dog friendly place for lunch in Maryport visit The Marina View Café; the staff are wonderful and the food is amazing.

If you want the best fish and chips you've ever tasted go here!!!! After a trip to Winchester me and my family were feeling hungry and happened to stumble upon this place. We were greeted like we were old friends by the guy behind the counter he took our order he was very attentive to the order making sure we had specifically what we ordered (fussy kid) he said as its all fresh cooked there would be a short wait and he would bring it over.... a 10 mi use wait and we were given our meals and my gosh were they worth the wait. The fish was cooked to perfection batter crisp fish soft it was perfect absolutely perfect. My fussy child ate all his food and clear plates all around. I live in Southampton and I will be coming back to Winchester just for the food and the fantastic service

Living not far up the road we popped to Minehead 2nd January, perfect day for a walk on the beach after the festivities with blue skies and a chill in the air and not many people about. After a brisk beach walk we fancied a bite to eat, we have had chips here before and they were open so we got fish and chips and then ate them on the esplanade facing the sea, perfect. We had to wait a minute or two for the fish to be cooked (am always worried when it’s served so quick after being cooked as it might not have drained enough) but it was worth the wait. Chips were crispy, fish cooked to perfection, no bones, nice crispy batter and no fish skin. Absolutely yummy. We will be going back and hope to repeat the experience.
