Ocean Basket Bromley in Bromley

I was expecting a standard fish and chip restaurant but was pleasantly surprised to see an extensive menu to suit every taste. There was the usual battered fish and chips but also platters where you could choose how every item was cooked, not just deep fried. Prawns were great and hake well cooked. The service was friendly and efficient given such a large party and varying ages and tastes. I was impressed and will return .

The service was friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming, and the food was good quality and cooked well. We shared a seafood platter and some soft shell crabs, and ate everything - we’ll be back next time we’re in the area.

Amazing and friendly staff, beautiful decor and spectacular food all at reasonable prices. Will be back here again to sample other dishes. Book a table in advance as the restaurant is unsurprisingly a popular choice for all.

Dee was an amazing server. Seriously not a single complaint. Food was prompt and hot and the entirety of the staff was so welcoming, warm and polite. Will definitely be returning when I can.

Food was great however a little over priced. Ordered a platter for 2 and this cost over £50. The calamari is great and recommended for anyone to eat!

A cafe ambiance & service at restaurant prices. If you like cafe style fried seafood and want to pay a high price. Then maybe you'll enjoy it. Oyster prices more expensive than London and some opened poorly breaking the oyster, shouldn't have been served like that. They specialise in fried or grilled seafood, but my grilled haddock was overcooked. Served with fries and no good options for vegetables. If you like spinach, great, but that's it. Although the service staff were very pleasant, they were a little unprofessional. Will never return.

Went oven basket for 1st time our west anniversary and myself and wife loved it great service and food be back as no problem

This is the worst fish and chips we have EVER tasted. Frozen thin fillets of cod obviously frozen already coated with ready made batter and thrown into a frier with old bitter oil! To charge £19 per portion for this is obscene. The carafe of wine was as small as a small wine glass, the rosé was cheap and the cost was £9 . This was our first and definitely our last visit. I don’t understand the positive comments, other than a thirst for mediocrity seems to be vogue throughout the Country at this time.

We came here for an early dinner on a Friday. Very laid back relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very friendly. We were served by Dee, who really looked after us. The food was great and the service was lovely. It became busy very quickly and I'm not surprised why! Would recommend people to try this place.

Music was a bit loud for older ears but the food was very nice and the staff were really delightful. Will be back really soon.

We often go to this restaurant, staff food and service is normally very good. On our last meeting the service was terrible. We clear our table of our plates, go to the counter to order coffee, we tried to get there attention to pay the bill. Their was three members of staff one was the manager all standing in a group talking. When the bill come the fact service charge is above 12 % we complained of the service received and was told in a sarcastic tone you don't have to pay it. No way to encourage people back.

We visited Ocean Basket for Mother's day. The restaurant is set over two levels, our table was situated on the 2nd floor. We ordered the platter for two which was superb. All the fish and seafood was cooked to perfection and it was super fresh. The waitress was simply charming who had a smile on her face throughout the service. We loved this place and will be defiantly be back.

Amazing food, great service. Drive an hour to visit for the second time in Mothers Day and certainly worth the journey. Would highly recommend.

Poorly run and average at best. Unfortunately the Ocean Basket is not what it was when it opened. We've been waiting for 45 mins for our food, been offered drinks once and told that they have run out of rice. It's a far cry from the restaurants in SA and more like a normal fish and chippy but overpriced. This is the 3rd time it's been like this so we won't be coming back.

Food was inedible. King prawns overcooked and rubbery, mussels also overcooked, dry and hard and served up in cold frying pans. Cod fillet small for the £12.50 cost. A dollop of soggy veg served as a side dish for £3.50 was criminal. Service was clumsy and disorganised. Overpriced for poor quality and poorly cooked food.

We had never heard of ocean basket before, but the menu looked interesting, so we popped in for dinner. We were so well looked after, the food was excellent, so fresh tasting, and tender. We had the sharing platter with a side of spinach. There are so many different things to try. We look forward to visiting again.

Been here a few times and always good food and great service but I notice this time that bread rolls that are served when you are sifted are small (fair enough as times are hard) but dips anymore (what a pity). Had the patter for one and I see that now is there in sauce served it it(again what a pity as I am sure this can’t cost you much to do). Would go back but not as often as I did.
