We visited this beautiful wee gem tucked away in this pleasant suburb of Edinburgh: Newington. The lovely couple who own it ( and two sister restaurants in the city) explained they have changed their emphasis to wine by the glass or bottle with upmarket snacks from local high quality suppliers such as Iain Mellis cheese. We loved the cosy autumn into winter vibe: beautiful tasteful lighting enhanced this. They have a truly fabulous selection of wine to suit all tastes. We can’t wait to go back!

Stopped off here between Edinburgh Fringe Festival shows for a spot of late lunch (it is near the Cameo cinema where the Film Festival is hosted). What a treat! Friendly, welcoming staff and an appealing menu with a mild Turkish slant. The vegetable soup was outstanding, the goat's cheese salad was fresh, tasty and generously sprinkled with a variety of seeds and my partner raved about the bacon roll and tea. What's not to like.? Everything on the menu looked equally delicious. The prices were frankly modest. A most enjoyable light lunch.

Wonderful service, beautiful and romantic interior, fantastic food! I took a picture of their menu, but they did mention that it changes periodically. We had a fabulous dinner and wonderful conversation with the owner. Definitely recommend!

I was at the Golf Club with friends for a Christmas dinner. The food was excellent and the staff attentive but not overpoweringly so. It was very enjoyable and I do recommend it as a dining out experience. However, there was one thing missing. No disabled access. I realise that generally speaking, those who frequent a golf club will be fairly fit and mobile, but for the mobility challenged visitor, entry to the building is awkward to say the least. I am disappointed that I will be unlikely to visit again, solely for that reason.

My husband and I came for the 7-course dinner almost a year ago, and were so blown away by the food that we wanted to bring our daughters back to enjoy the experience. Having raved about the food, we then thought that we might have over-hyped it and they would be disappointed. We needn't have worried. The 7-course meal, accompanied by the phenomenal flight of wines, was as delicious, unfussy, and indulgent as we had remembered it, set in relaxed and unpretentious surroundings, with wonderfully friendly and attentive staff. And worth every penny - we've paid a lot more for far less. Definitely our most memorable meal in a long time, for all the right reasons - Purslane alone is worth a trip to this beautiful city.

Natasha was outstanding and made my birthday meal extra special. I have visited numerous Las Iguanas restaurants including Blackpool, Manchester, London and my home city of Glasgow but this was by far the best service, and food, we have experienced and would gladly drive the extra 50 minutes to eat in Edinburgh rather than go to Glasgow when we next have the notion for tacos or cocktails. As a couple we have visited a few Michelin star establishments that have not delivered the friendly, attentive and knowledgeable service that we received from Natasha and I believe her to be such an asset to the company. Thank you Natasha you are a star.

I would avoid this shop. The waitress is busy looking at the cutlery and misses the moment to serve you. Prices are sometimes cheeky, considering that a 10% tip is automatically calculated. The meat was very tasty and good, although not cooked to the desired doneness.

Me and my two friends came here from Glasgow the bouncer at the main doors had a right rude attitude towards all 3 of us soon as we approached the door had a right attitude when he asked us where we was from we reply Glasgow his reply was not to night your all too drunk we got right off the bus straight to this one place we all very much sober if you have aggressive bouncers on your door . We meant to feel safe at these places .

Had a lovely time at Haute Dolci in Edinburgh, with a great location overlooking Princes Street. The venue has a wonderful atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The desserts were beautifully presented and tasted good. However, I think the mango shake could be better. That said, I'd still recommend this place for the ambiance and service 👌🏻
