Simply the best dining experience I have ever had. The food was amazing right through all seven courses. The staff couldn't have been better. Very welcoming. They made us feel totally relaxed and are very knowledgeable about all the food and wine.

Ristorante eccezionale, l'esperienza culinaria da Purslane é sensazionale. Le portate sono finemente ritoccate e donano al piatto un aspetto artistico molto apprezzabile. Il cibo é cucinato alla perfezione e di ogni portata si possono gustare i ricchi sapori. Abbiamo particolarmente apprezzato la sausage roll e uno dei piatti di pesce. Lo staff é molto cordiale e spiega nei dettagli l'abbinamento cibo-vino, qualora si scegliesse il menu accompagnato da vino. I complimenti in particolare allo chef Dom!

our favourite place to eat in edinburgh small and cosy without being oppressive service and food, and wines, always first class 7 course taster menu with wines our choice, one for a pescatarian, one with no nut products ! taken care of by Gregor throughout the evening, we were treated to Paul's culinary skills which were amazing. really faultless as always - not much to say but cannot wait till the next visit.

Wow, what an amazing experience at The Purslane Restaurant. One of our top meals of all time. We had the seven course tasting menu. Every dish was excellent, with well balanced and complementary flavors. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent and attentive service. Also, they were very accommodating of my wife who does not enjoy seafood. They provided her with interesting and satisfying alternative dishes. By the way, the seven course menu is a LOT of food.

Had an amazing evening at Purslane! The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. The staff were fantastic - attentive yet unobtrusive. Every course, from the appetizers to the mains and the delightful desserts, all 7 courses were accompanied perfectly with the suggested wines from the sommelier. A gem of a restaurant- we enjoyed the fabulous 5 course taster menu accompanied by a lovely recommended wine from Puglia. With just 14 covers, the restaurant has a friendly intimate atmosphere complementing the quality of the food.

Amazing lunch this time at Purslane. As always it did not disappoint! Always a treat to visit this hidden gem. Not many places I would eat pretty much anything of the menu and know it will taste great.

One of the best fine dining restaurants around. Unpretentious interior, with engaging front of house staff and a lovely relaxed atmosphere (great playlist!). The food is the star of the show, with each dish better than the last. Tonight I will dream of perfectly seared venison, unctuous whisky sauce, and sublime pear sorbet. Do not miss Purslane if you visit Edinburgh.

A little gem in Stockbridge. My wife and I were staying nearby and had lunch at Purslane. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. On our radar for a return visit next time we're in Edinburgh.

Absolutely delightful restaurant, for service with a smile and fantastic quality of food. We plucked up the courage to take our two teenage daughters to see how they would fare with fine dining food and we so pleased we choose Purslane. Wow, we were hugely impressed with Purslane. Delicious food, thoughtfully adapted for our personal tastes, and paired with gorgeous wines and incredibly friendly, attentive service. A bargain at the price, and easily the best meal we had during our stay in Edinburgh. Thanks to the great team there, we'll definitely be returning on our next visit.

Surprisingly good! We had the 2 courses for lunch, everything was very decent: service, food and atmosphere. I am very satisfied and would recommend to my friends to try. Unlike some fine restaurants which always charge extra for some pre-fixed courses, so you ended up paying more than advertised, this one is true to its value. No strings attached, totally worth it.

Great little restaurant with fabulous food and good service

Amazing food, every bite was special! We had the 5 course tasting menu and every course blew us away. Atmosphere was very relaxed and front of house were amazing and attentive without hovering. Music playlist was perfect for the relaxed atmosphere. We will be coming back here every time we visit Edinburgh.

Purslane is both intimate and welcoming. We visited on a Sunday lunch time and had the 5 course tasting menu. The food was beautifully presented and was absolutely delicious. Definitely on a par with Michelin standard and served by a friendly, professional and knowledgeable team. In addition to the 5 courses there were lovely surprises: amuse bouche; chicken stock basted bread with butter with crispy chicken skin; a heavenly pre dessert (red and yellow pepper with fiery chilli sorbet, balanced with a creamy cooling parfait, and tuille - my absolute fave); and delightful petit fours. We enjoyed our visit and would rate our experience a faultless 10/10.

Hidden gem!!! Michelin standard food with expertly paired wines. Served by extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door. A cosy intimate setting. Visited with family for a birthday lunch and we'll definitely be back! Local produce cooked to perfection with a unique twist!
