Las Iguanas - Edinburgh in Edinburgh, City of

I was there in a huge group of people for uni trip and got chicken burger for dinner. It was not good. It was really dry and bland. Not enough sauce on it at all I had to dipped my burger in ketchup just to make it more moist. It was basically unseasoned cooked chicken breast on buns with fresh tomato and lettuce. And I had Dulce de Leche Churros for dessert. It was nice, fresh warm and crispy and the sauce tasted really nice. The staffs who were taking care of us were super nice tho.

Lovely food at decent prices. Only marked down on atmosphere as it was extremely quiet on a Tuesday lunchtime. Staff are friendly, efficient and unobtrusive.

It is a lovely place that serves a range of Latin American dishes. Leo, the waiter, was attentive and friendly.

Always the best choice for a quick bite or a nice cocktail. Atmosphere is amazing, and the staff create an amazing experience. A big thanks to our waitress Rima, very friendly and Always smiling.

I couldn’t recommend Las Iguanas more!! It was fairly busy but got a table straight away after getting turned away from 2 other places. Staff were amazing!! Three girls working none stop and did an amazing job. Drinks came on time, food was amazing! we left feeling full and looked up. Couldn’t recommend more!

Burgers were good steak fajitas were poor (poor quality steak, salsa and guacamole were not home made)

Our meals were delicious. Plenty of choice. Friendly and efficient staff. Thumbs up all around!

Perfect food and friendly service

Lovely staff greeted me when I walked in with no booking. It was still early but they were gearing up for a busy night and squeezed me in. It was an exciting menu with lots of things I might like to try. I love Mexican so went for vegetarian chimmichanga. Normally I would have gone for the meat but wanted to try something a bit different. Staff were on hand to advise if required and suggested a nice cocktail. The food came quickly, but as I started eating I must say it was a little bland for my taste. I did consider adding salt which I very rarely do. It was perfectly well cooked and once I got a bit of salsa it tickled my taste buds a bit more. Maybe the beans and rice need a bit more flavour? Anyway it was a lovely meal and the server Rima was fantastic. It didn't cost the earth either considering I am not used to eating out in Edinburgh City centre. I would definitely go back so I could try some of the other dishes.

Our waitress Paige was amazing! So attentive and lovely she made our experience! Food was very tasty and atmosphere was amazing with good Latino music!

We took only small plates to share and all of them were delicious (based on preferences). The calamari and Churros were not good for me.

Had some great food and really great drinks. Leo was our server for the night and he was fantastic, checked up on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Great waiter. Great bloke

On a hen night - 13 of us. We were sat downstairs.... no atmosphere, very dark. We pre ordered food & still had to wait an hour. 2 meals were cold/buns still frozen! They did replace them & deduct from the bill. Also gave us a free drink. Tables that had been vacated weren't cleared for a while which gave a bad impression too. Have been to other Las Iguanas & was satisfied with service etc but not at this one. If I visit Edinburgh again, this won't be on my list to visit again!! Oh & we had to ask for the service charge to be deducted...... we wasn't going to pay £28 for 'service' we didn't get. The server was fine but the whole experience wasn't good.

We ordered a taco plate with 12 tacos. We actually only got 10 taco shells. After I told the service guy about it, he brought us a few more shells. When we got the bill, I noticed that they maid us pay the missing shells 1,50 pounds. That’s fraud.

We came for the boozy brunch and the staff are very welcoming and friendly especially our waiter leo who gave us a good experience on our valentines day dinner and quick service.

Food, drinks and service all great. So much flavour in our food and the waiter who served us really knew his stuff. Great atmosphere too. Look forward to returning.

Lovely spot to spend time with family and friends. Food is a plain mix of some South American countries, but NOT great. Beef fillet on skewers (most expensive dish) was dry and tasteless. How does one serve rice and fries with it and nothing refreshing on the side? My wife's mixed grill fajitas was nothing but a stir fry of tough meat, prawns and chicken. Decor and ambience is great, but food disappointing. Caperinhas are great though.

Had a lovely dinner with my girlfriend, we had 2 cocktails each which were all delicious, food all tasted great (we hadnt expected the potatas bravas to be cold though), we'd reccomend the cauliflower bites as a good sharing starter! Our server was Paige who was very friendly and chatty, just wish we'd stayed for desert!

Disappointed, silly of us to give Las Iguanas a second chance. Will not be back. Freezing cold, dour staff. We ordered two drinks and they got them both wrong. I ordered a chicken fajita - presentation poor and it was so spicy it was inedible, filling a tasteless mush with hardly any chicken pulled and spread out like a paste, one flour tortilla lying on an unappealing sludge of cold black beans. Friend ordered the burger with halloumi - thinking t was a meat burger and cheese topping. Nope just a slab of halloumi, tomato top with the core in. Overpriced and extremely underwhelming experience. So bad we barely stayed 45mins. Try anywhere else.

Nice place in the city center where to go for a drink or a meal. Big, many tables inside. We went on a Saturday lunchtime and we ate a sharing platter. South american plates, tapas. Friendly staff, good offers on the app . To try

Let me start by saying the food was good, the service equally satisfactory. The perks also made the visit good value for money. However, I very much resent when a service charge is automatically added to the bill, and I also know that other restaurants do this. Should it be necessary to withhold a tip it would be embarrassing to ask for this to be removed. Also, if there is a tip sharing system, why should Johnny 'no stars' get the same as those who did the hard work? I think tips should be discretionary and be between you and your server. One other complaint. The Mexican lager wasn't advertised as a 330ml bottle. I assumed it would be a pint (price indicated as much). Please make it obvious when it's a small bottle of lager. I will visit again, but I'd hope that the company will take these points into consideration.

Had birthday dinner at Las Iguanas, the atmosphere was great, the staff was welcoming and friendly and the food was so tasty, everyone enjoyed! Rima’s service was excellent, she made sure we were looked after the whole night and was very polite and attentive. Will definitely be back!

We had food and drinks here and stayed a couple of hours. The staff is nice and friendly but pretty confused. The food is fine, but overpriced for what you get. It was not too loud, so we conversations were possible. So overall it was ok, but not so good that we would consider coming back.

Great lunch spot, brilliant lunch deal! Plenty of gluten free options too which was great and very tasty.

Came here on an international trip backpacking for a month and we were turned away from 5 different pubs here in Scotland before being lucky enough to enter las iguanas . Our server was kind, knowledgeable and caring! We did have a small hiccup on our chicken but the sever and manager were absolutely amazing and fixed our problem, made us feel at home and went above and beyond to ensure our experience was amazing. Keep up the good work guys! We will be sending some international guests your way!

Staff were lovely, but under resourced, and therefore very slow. It took 30 mins after arrival before we had our drinks. Desserts were also slow, and I had to chase for them, as well as for the bill. Food was fine.
