Great valentines meal. Tomahawk steak for sharing was excellent and even the dog got to enjoy the bone when we got home.

You need to work on cleanliness because the cutlery can be placed on a regular paper napkin and not on a table that has not been cleaned by previous customers.

Best steak experience I've ever had! Customer service was lovely. Perfectly cooked steak and so fresh and perfectly seasoned, amazing prices and value for money and incredible chips and peppercorn sauce. The grilled calamari was so tasty and so was the chicken wings. Such great prices again for these starters. I will be forever coming back, extremely impressed with the service. Was in and out in 50 mins!!

The sirloin steak was chewy. The grilled Salmon was dry. The taste is ok, but would I eat there again? Probably NO.

We had dinner on the night of December 31, 2024, it was great, the meat was delicious, we were with children and we liked everything in general. A luxury restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh. We thought the price was very good for the quantities served. A true pleasure to have dined at this restaurant.

Ok but not exactly the Argentinian steak fest I was hoping for. Shame really. Overpriced for the food quality but in fairness was refunded... Not one to return to. Guarantee a table though as it was dead for a Friday night.

I would avoid this shop. The waitress is busy looking at the cutlery and misses the moment to serve you. Prices are sometimes cheeky, considering that a 10% tip is automatically calculated. The meat was very tasty and good, although not cooked to the desired doneness.

I have visited this restaurant several times now, my steak (large rump steak) was cooked perfectly. Staff very nice 👌

Its barely a 2 from me. Firstly, its definitely not south american never mind Argentenian. The Indian waiters are a dead giveaway. Steak was approximately weatherspoons standard but cost 3 times as much. I cant give the food 1 star as it was okay, not brilliant, but only worth about 1/3 the price. Watch out for the sneaky 10% service charge automatically added on to the bill. I honestly imagine that this restaurant has been bought into Indian ownership and the ratjngs will fall dramatically. Oh well. At least I told them to take off the service charge. That's probably the only positive thing I can say about my experience.

Los Argentinos is kind of a mixed bag. We have eaten at many Spanish or Latin American restaurants. This really isn't an Argentinian restaurant per se, but it does serve Argentinian-inspired dishes, including many kinds of steak. We were here for the Fringe, and a show on the Meadows was close enough that we thought we would try eating here. Having said that, it was still a 15-minute walk even from that location, so this might not be the best option if you are also seeing shows either at the Fringe or the Art Festival. The service was curiously slow and indifferent. We were seated immediately but then had to wait at least 15 minutes while wait staff passed by our table to serve others. It was almost like they had forgotten us. After several efforts, we finally caught a waiter's eye. Without apology for the delay, he dutifully took our order. Apart from the food delivery (which was from a different person), we did not see him again until we asked for the bill. We had almost no interaction with any of the restaurant staff. The photos on this site look nice, but in reality the setting seemed more rustic and even a little worn. While we were disappointed with the service, the food turned out to be excellent. As noted elsewhere, they prepare their steaks extremely well and mine was exactly as I had ordered it (medium rare). Others on this site have noted either excellent or indifferent service at different times. We were here on a Sunday evening, when service can sometimes be less than a restaurant's best. However, we can only rate the experience we had.

Visited here last year and thought it was great. So we were back in Edinburgh in early Aug and this time went here twice. The owner/manager has a great personality and the food (the Steak) is outstanding. I don't normally eat steak in the UK however, this compared with the Steaks I have had in the USA and South Africa! Go for the Fillet Steak, all our party had Fillet and thought it was fantastic.

honestly, I'd take my manager here and he's from Argentina. there is an amazing selection in steaks, even their cheaper malbecs are beautiful, the hospitality is beyond exemplary and this is going to become a regular place for me and my wife (both in hospitality) at least once a month from now. muchos gracias Los Argentinos!

We went there for dinner and got a 450g ribeye steak, a calamari and sweet fries and veggies. Everything was very well cooked and fresh. Service was also very good. Will be visiting again for sure!

I felt a little scammed. The owner, bbq chef and the personal are from India, it definitely IS NOT AN ARGENTINIAN RESTAURANT, the quality of meat is good but the seasoning is not Argentina style, the empanadas, chimichurri and etc had cumin and curry…. I think the owner needs change the name “los Argentinos”, the place is beautiful, the service the same, the quality of products are good, but if you are using a nationality and menu style of one country, you need to offer what the people with knowledge want, another way you are lying.

Dropped in to Los Argentinos whilst visiting Edinburgh. It’s well off the tourist track but certainly worth finding. Not only are their prices cheap, the portions are huge and the quality of the meat is excellent. The staff are both courteous and helpful making our dining experience one to remember. We will definitely be back as soon as we can.

Very clean. Friendly, fast service. Delicious and very nicely priced. We had nachos appetizer, three steaks with fries, a hamburger, and the waffle with dulce de leche dessert. Would order all again. Wonderful!

Best steakhouse I’ve been to so far in Scotland, puts Miller and Carter to shame for value for money. Massive cuts of steak no more than £30 and cooked and seasoned to perfection.

We had a gorgeous meal at this restaurant could not fault the food, however was disappointed with the staff as we never got asked after our meal if we wanted a dessert or more drinks, felt like they were just not bothered.

Extraordinarily tender delicious steak, perfectly cooked. Atmospheric vibe with rough-hewn stone walls and big window views onto the Bohemian streets of Summerhall and Newington. First class service by attentive courteous staff, thank you.

We had a great dinner this evening. The service was very friendly and the food was very good. We had the calamares and after that the lamb chops and grilled prawns. Also a cucumber salad with walnuts. The desert and the espresso were also very good. Thank you for making our last evening in Edinburgh one to remember.

Went for dinner with a gift voucher on a family recommendation and it did not disappoint. Amazing steaks with lots of choices in sides and sauces. We will definitely go back.

We were asked to leave I booked for 6 people for 6pm. There ended up being 3 of us as some people dropped out. We spent £50 all together on some food and drink. The food was decent enough, it wasn't amazing or anything. Just standard. When it came to 8pm we were asked to leave, although due to the guy's first language not being English I though he was asking us to switch to a different table (which I would have been happy to do - there were other free tables) but no. He got the bill for us and we paid and left. I told him I had booked until 9pm. So we went to Southpour for drinks afterwards. I won't be going again

We were looking for a real Argentinian experience but honestly this place is quite far from this, but even that we can’t complain about the food, we went directly to the main dishes and the meet was pretty good and taste (but it is not an asado argentino), anyway it is a good option for a nice peace of meat.

The food is very good and the value is excellent. I think it was one of the better value for money steak restaurants in Edinburgh. The staff are lovely.

I have never been to a steakhouse before where (apparently as I was told by the service staff) the chef refuse to cook a T-bone cut to medium! Service staff said that it is the chef’s decision only to cook to medium rare! I thought ok, I would give this place a try nonetheless (I could have simply walked out at that point but I didn't, only to realise later that I should have!). House wine by the glass was cheap (very limited option especially for by the glass). I had ordered grilled prawns as a starter and It was nothing like what you normally get in a steakhouse and it was just about decent. Steak itself was Ok-ish since it's not cooked to the way I would've wanted it, medium. The salad and sides were jerry-built. Front office and serving staff were friendly enough. This 3 star goes to the serving staff and a decent atmosphere. I must say, the menu prices are indeed very competitive, but it doesn’t justify compromising on quality though.

I think the correct name for this restaurant should be "Lost Argentinos". This is by no means an Argentinian restaurant. It is a very simple restaurant that serves various meat, chicken and seafood dishes with Argentinian names. We ate different starters and different main courses. Bife de lomo a la Bearnaise and Pollo a la Brasa. The chicken was dry and not very tasty. The steak was OK, but slightly overcooked (ordered medium rare) and the juice ran out of the piece of meat very quickly. Firstly, this was in no way tenderloin and it had not rested enough after grilling either. The appetizers were Empanadas de Carne and Pimiento Relleno de Carne. The empanadas were dry and unexciting, and the pimiento was actually decent enough. But no more. The side French Fries were OK, but the baked potato was at best made 2 days ago and heated in the microwave. I think that this is a restaurant that gets a lot of positive criticism that it absolutely does not deserve. We were very disappointed, but could not bear to discuss this with the waiters. In any case, it would not have been possible to bring this meal up to a level that can be defended in relation to the price level on the menu. The service was completely decent and pleasant. Nothing to complain about for this type of restaurant. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant to friends. Norwegian guests who visited the restaurant in March 2024.

This restaurant doesn't serve argentinian food. It serves argentinian dishes not made traditionally. They serve salsa criolla and call it chimichurri, their empanadas are quite tasteless, their parrillada is served on a normal plate and gets cold quickly. It's a shame as it seems like the meat is good quality, but it's not traditional food. It's also very expensive for what it is.

Perfect in every way. We visited the restaurant last night and it’s the best steak and prawns we have had. The ribeye was cooked to perfection. The staff were excellent. Nothing was at fault from the staff, the surroundings and most importantly the food. We will be visiting again

A true gem in Edinburgh! This is a beautiful location with excellent food and service. The steaks were cooked perfectly, food well-seasoned, and wine selection was great. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The owner was also very friendly and kind. You could tell he truly went above and beyond to ensure everyone in the restaurant had a fabulous experience. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

This is not one of your fancy posh steak restaurants.The setting is fun, but fairly basic. The restaurant was full when we arrived at 7pm on a Saturday evening, which was a good sign. Husband and son enjoyed their starters of grilled prawns and calamari, but I wanted to save myself for my main course. All our steaks were delicious. I had the fillet with grilled king prawns, husband had the T-bone which had a huge amount of meat and son had the sirloin. We all loved our steaks, excellent quality. Sauces and sides were ok, my grilled veggies were mostly tomato and peppers, but really come here for the steak- you won’t be disappointed. No automatic service charge added to the bill, which is nice as this is becoming too common in Edinburgh.

Went there on Hogmanay. I had been once before so pleased they managed to make table available for my family to enjoy. They enjoyed everything staff service and of course food. Definitely returning.

Amazing food, excellent service. We’ve been there on Christmas Day. Instead of having lunch at the hotel we were looking for somewhere else to eat. I know we had to book in advance but we didn’t. Luckily we found that place. Everything was amazing food, wine, deserts the people. I can’t recommend more. If we visit Edinburgh again, we are definitely going back there. To be honest i looked for directions to see if there is another restaurant like this in the uk.

We came on a whim, as the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed, and it turned out to be the best decision! Everything we ordered was delicious, from the calamari, the steak, and we got a variety of sides from corn on the cob, garlic bread, sweet potato fries, which were all amazing with the chimichurri sauce. For non-meat eaters, there is also a variety of grilled seafood on the menu. You can also order extra sauces on the side, which we all enjoyed. Friendly service and very warm ambiance - thank you!

Wow wow wow!!! I brought my mom(from South Africa) to Edinburgh for 2days and we craved steak on our 2nd night, so I found this BEAUT around the corner from where we stayed. From the calamari starter, the chimichurri side, to the sauces, the wine... everything was just amazing. Our steaks were cooked beautifully, rare, and was SO soft. We went for the ribeye. The service was amazing, our waiters were so friendly and helpful, and passionate about their customers leaving happy. I can not recommend this restaurant enough. I wish it was closer to home(Gloucestershire) Thank you for a fantastic night!

We go quite often and the quality of the food never falters. Staff are always very friendly too. They know all the courses and matching numbers. Just say the number when ordering and they always get it right!

Service was unprofessional, the young boys seemed like still in training. Once the boss got involved, it was OK. Overpriced wine. 13.5% Mabec? I'm sorry, get a proper one on your wine list. Food (we were a large party) of various quality. Filet steak and Sirloin were nice. Tomahawk steak a total disappointment. Bunt on the surface but raw inside (close to the bone). Obviously temperatures of the meat were not taken.

Lovely meal- grilled chicken was lovely as well as the peppercorn sauce. Complementary house sauce was also very nice. Great service and friendly staff. Restaurants very clean. Will definitely return when back in Edinburgh

There was a good grill char for sure, but that was the only flavour. The chips tasted like the cheapest frozen chips that had been cooked in a microwave. For £80 for two people, I'd expect a good, tasty meal served with respect. This was none of those. I'll never go back.

Food 4/5 Service 3/5 Atmosphere 3/5 For an affordable steakhouse the food is actually good with pretty big cuts 350g+ available for an affordable price which is comforting. However the staff just aren't very trained to make it a memorable experience. They can be abrupt and you don't feel welcomed, not because they are rude by nature but simply because they aren't trained to in being hospitable like at higher end places. So if you're just planning to have to have casual dinner this would probably suffice but avoid if looking for special date nights or occasions.

About a mile from Royal Mile but well worth the dander. Staff were so friendly & helpful even congratulating my wife for drinking a bottle of wine! The steaks were amazing and probably half the price that you would pay in the heart of Edinburgh. Highly recommended

We had a rump steak and a ribeye steak, they were both cooked perfectly (medium for me and medium rare for my partner) the restaurant itself is very intimate and perfect for dates. Service was amazing and drinks were nice too.

Had the sharing meat platter. Our waiter didn't point out which steak was which. It became obvious. The rump was extremely tough and chewy. The other two were tender enough, but I couldn't tell what cut of meat they were. The place was loud and busy and we were stuck in a corner, it felt a bit restricted.

We were out for some good meat and the meat was fantastic 🤩. The staff was great and came to the table many times just to check if everything was ok. We ordered different meat and different cooking and it was just perfect 👍. We hade a great evening and ended with same good desserts. We recommend this restaurant for the best food and great staff.

Poor steak, bad service, dead restaurant. Went on Saturday night, absolutely dead in the restaurant. Ordered a steak rare that was clearly medium well. After sending it back, the waiter came back to tell me they’d redo my steak but also that the chef disagreed with me which a bit rude and weird? I don’t know why they blame me as the customer for it being overdone, it’s poor service and the steak was super tough and too done. Then I got back the most extreme blue, tasteless steak clearly as revenge from the chef. No fresh cutlery after the starter and the chimichuri sauce was forgotten. I hated this place and it ruined my night.

One of the tastiest stakes we have had. Service was spot on as well I think the place can benefit from a few degrees higher temperature as it was a bit chilly.

Lovely visit here and was packed. Steak was lovely,. Sauces a bit on the stingy side. Found one of the waiters a bit abrupt and very stressed but all the other staff were lovely. No complaints abiut the food and woukd definitely return.

Had a mixed grill the steaks where absolutely lovey the chips and onion rings where rather small but the beef was something else 😋

Friendly accommodating staff with fantastic quick service. Steaks are tasty, squid was superb. Peppercorn sauce very peppery makes you enjoy the wine even more. Chips are really good too.

Fantastic food excellent service super friendly if you have allergies like me with gluten and eggs ask the staff. I took a boiled steak with boiled potato with a vegetable dish☺️I super recommend it

We visited for my birthday in late august this year, despite the fringe festival being on the restaurant want too busy but had a nice buzz and atmosphere to it. We were recommended a beautiful bottle of red wine by our host and sat down...

Been twice- first time the service was excellent although the second it was a wee bit slow. It was during the Festival so no big deal. But the steaks were juicy - chips good and the Mixed Grill large and tasty. Pricing good and service friendly. If you enjoy Chimichurri enhanced with onions and curry powder then go for it.

Que decepción… Lo mas argentino de este lugar era una foto de Messi en la esquina mas recóndita del restaurante. Además que nos hicieron esperar mas de 10 minutos teniendo una reserva (diciendo que es un error de su sistema por haber hecho la reserva luego de las 4), y además que su “chorizo casero” es una salchicha comprada del Tesco, y además que su chimichurri era una salsa criolla, y además que la comida no tenía nada de Argentino, NADIE del staff del restaurante “LOS ARGENTINOS” era latino o al menos hablaba español… Como verdadero Argentino, este lugar es una mentira. Es un simple y muy fallido intento de la gran gastronomía de mi país, ademas que el precio es muy alto en comparación a la calidad de la comida.
