We were looking for a real Argentinian experience but honestly this place is quite far from this, but even that we can’t complain about the food, we went directly to the main dishes and the meet was pretty good and taste (but it is not an asado argentino), anyway it is a good option for a nice peace of meat.

The food is very good and the value is excellent. I think it was one of the better value for money steak restaurants in Edinburgh. The staff are lovely.

I have never been to a steakhouse before where (apparently as I was told by the service staff) the chef refuse to cook a T-bone cut to medium! Service staff said that it is the chef’s decision only to cook to medium rare! I thought ok, I would give this place a try nonetheless (I could have simply walked out at that point but I didn't, only to realise later that I should have!). House wine by the glass was cheap (very limited option especially for by the glass). I had ordered grilled prawns as a starter and It was nothing like what you normally get in a steakhouse and it was just about decent. Steak itself was Ok-ish since it's not cooked to the way I would've wanted it, medium. The salad and sides were jerry-built. Front office and serving staff were friendly enough. This 3 star goes to the serving staff and a decent atmosphere. I must say, the menu prices are indeed very competitive, but it doesn’t justify compromising on quality though.

I think the correct name for this restaurant should be "Lost Argentinos". This is by no means an Argentinian restaurant. It is a very simple restaurant that serves various meat, chicken and seafood dishes with Argentinian names. We ate different starters and different main courses. Bife de lomo a la Bearnaise and Pollo a la Brasa. The chicken was dry and not very tasty. The steak was OK, but slightly overcooked (ordered medium rare) and the juice ran out of the piece of meat very quickly. Firstly, this was in no way tenderloin and it had not rested enough after grilling either. The appetizers were Empanadas de Carne and Pimiento Relleno de Carne. The empanadas were dry and unexciting, and the pimiento was actually decent enough. But no more. The side French Fries were OK, but the baked potato was at best made 2 days ago and heated in the microwave. I think that this is a restaurant that gets a lot of positive criticism that it absolutely does not deserve. We were very disappointed, but could not bear to discuss this with the waiters. In any case, it would not have been possible to bring this meal up to a level that can be defended in relation to the price level on the menu. The service was completely decent and pleasant. Nothing to complain about for this type of restaurant. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant to friends. Norwegian guests who visited the restaurant in March 2024.

Waiters congregated in the middle of the restaurant, fine for a spacious establishment however this is a compact setting, it isn’t conducive to a relaxed dining experience when waitors are standing so close by. Not much ambience, small portions and not the most flavourful steak we’ve had for the price.

This restaurant doesn't serve argentinian food. It serves argentinian dishes not made traditionally. They serve salsa criolla and call it chimichurri, their empanadas are quite tasteless, their parrillada is served on a normal plate and gets cold quickly. It's a shame as it seems like the meat is good quality, but it's not traditional food. It's also very expensive for what it is.

Perfect in every way. We visited the restaurant last night and it’s the best steak and prawns we have had. The ribeye was cooked to perfection. The staff were excellent. Nothing was at fault from the staff, the surroundings and most importantly the food. We will be visiting again

A true gem in Edinburgh! This is a beautiful location with excellent food and service. The steaks were cooked perfectly, food well-seasoned, and wine selection was great. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The owner was also very friendly and kind. You could tell he truly went above and beyond to ensure everyone in the restaurant had a fabulous experience. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

This is not one of your fancy posh steak restaurants.The setting is fun, but fairly basic. The restaurant was full when we arrived at 7pm on a Saturday evening, which was a good sign. Husband and son enjoyed their starters of grilled prawns and calamari, but I wanted to save myself for my main course. All our steaks were delicious. I had the fillet with grilled king prawns, husband had the T-bone which had a huge amount of meat and son had the sirloin. We all loved our steaks, excellent quality. Sauces and sides were ok, my grilled veggies were mostly tomato and peppers, but really come here for the steak- you won’t be disappointed. No automatic service charge added to the bill, which is nice as this is becoming too common in Edinburgh.

Went there on Hogmanay. I had been once before so pleased they managed to make table available for my family to enjoy. They enjoyed everything staff service and of course food. Definitely returning.

Amazing food, excellent service. We’ve been there on Christmas Day. Instead of having lunch at the hotel we were looking for somewhere else to eat. I know we had to book in advance but we didn’t. Luckily we found that place. Everything was amazing food, wine, deserts the people. I can’t recommend more. If we visit Edinburgh again, we are definitely going back there. To be honest i looked for directions to see if there is another restaurant like this in the uk.

We came on a whim, as the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed, and it turned out to be the best decision! Everything we ordered was delicious, from the calamari, the steak, and we got a variety of sides from corn on the cob, garlic bread, sweet potato fries, which were all amazing with the chimichurri sauce. For non-meat eaters, there is also a variety of grilled seafood on the menu. You can also order extra sauces on the side, which we all enjoyed. Friendly service and very warm ambiance - thank you!

Wow wow wow!!! I brought my mom(from South Africa) to Edinburgh for 2days and we craved steak on our 2nd night, so I found this BEAUT around the corner from where we stayed. From the calamari starter, the chimichurri side, to the sauces, the wine... everything was just amazing. Our steaks were cooked beautifully, rare, and was SO soft. We went for the ribeye. The service was amazing, our waiters were so friendly and helpful, and passionate about their customers leaving happy. I can not recommend this restaurant enough. I wish it was closer to home(Gloucestershire) Thank you for a fantastic night!

We go quite often and the quality of the food never falters. Staff are always very friendly too. They know all the courses and matching numbers. Just say the number when ordering and they always get it right!

Service was unprofessional, the young boys seemed like still in training. Once the boss got involved, it was OK. Overpriced wine. 13.5% Mabec? I'm sorry, get a proper one on your wine list. Food (we were a large party) of various quality. Filet steak and Sirloin were nice. Tomahawk steak a total disappointment. Bunt on the surface but raw inside (close to the bone). Obviously temperatures of the meat were not taken.

Lovely meal- grilled chicken was lovely as well as the peppercorn sauce. Complementary house sauce was also very nice. Great service and friendly staff. Restaurants very clean. Will definitely return when back in Edinburgh

Came to Los Agentinos years ago and had a great meal, from this last experience, I doubt they'll be in business much longer. Service was appalling. Food 4/5 Service 3/5 Atmosphere 3/5 For an affordable steakhouse the food is actually good with pretty big cuts 350g+ available for an affordable price which is comforting. However the staff just aren't very trained to make it a memorable experience. They can be abrupt and you don't feel welcomed, not because they are rude by nature but simply because they aren't trained to in being hospitable like at higher end places. So if you're just planning to have to have casual dinner this would probably suffice but avoid if looking for special date nights or occasions.

About a mile from Royal Mile but well worth the dander. Staff were so friendly & helpful even congratulating my wife for drinking a bottle of wine! The steaks were amazing and probably half the price that you would pay in the heart of Edinburgh. Highly recommended

Soy argentino y vine a Edimburgo a visitar a mi pareja y de paso mostrarle un poco de mi cultura gastronómica, sin ánimos de ofender la comida no tiene nada de argentino, pero estaba rico todo, los chicos muy atentos!. We had a rump steak and a ribeye steak, they were both cooked perfectly (medium for me and medium rare for my partner) the restaurant itself is very intimate and perfect for dates. Service was amazing and drinks were nice too.

Had the sharing meat platter. Our waiter didn't point out which steak was which. It became obvious. The rump was extremely tough and chewy. The other two were tender enough, but I couldn't tell what cut of meat they were. The place was loud and busy and we were stuck in a corner, it felt a bit restricted.

We were out for some good meat and the meat was fantastic 🤩. The staff was great and came to the table many times just to check if everything was ok. We ordered different meat and different cooking and it was just perfect 👍. We hade a great evening and ended with same good desserts. We recommend this restaurant for the best food and great staff.

Poor steak, bad service, dead restaurant. Went on Saturday night, absolutely dead in the restaurant. Ordered a steak rare that was clearly medium well. After sending it back, the waiter came back to tell me they’d redo my steak but also that the chef disagreed with me which a bit rude and weird? I don’t know why they blame me as the customer for it being overdone, it’s poor service and the steak was super tough and too done. Then I got back the most extreme blue, tasteless steak clearly as revenge from the chef. No fresh cutlery after the starter and the chimichuri sauce was forgotten. I hated this place and it ruined my night.

One of the tastiest stakes we have had. Service was spot on as well I think the place can benefit from a few degrees higher temperature as it was a bit chilly.

Lovely visit here and was packed. Steak was lovely,. Sauces a bit on the stingy side. Found one of the waiters a bit abrupt and very stressed but all the other staff were lovely. No complaints abiut the food and woukd definitely return.

Had a mixed grill the steaks where absolutely lovey the chips and onion rings where rather small but the beef was something else 😋

Brilliant steaks, reasonable prices!

Friendly accommodating staff with fantastic quick service. Steaks are tasty, squid was superb. Peppercorn sauce very peppery makes you enjoy the wine even more. Chips are really good too.

Fantastic food excellent service super friendly if you have allergies like me with gluten and eggs ask the staff. I took a boiled steak with boiled potato with a vegetable dish☺️I super recommend it

Been twice- first time the service was excellent although the second it was a wee bit slow. It was during the Festival so no big deal. But the steaks were juicy - chips good and the Mixed Grill large and tasty. Pricing good and service friendly. If you enjoy Chimichurri enhanced with onions and curry powder then go for it.

Que decepción… Lo mas argentino de este lugar era una foto de Messi en la esquina mas recóndita del restaurante. Además que nos hicieron esperar mas de 10 minutos teniendo una reserva (diciendo que es un error de su sistema por haber hecho la reserva luego de las 4), y además que su “chorizo casero” es una salchicha comprada del Tesco, y además que su chimichurri era una salsa criolla, y además que la comida no tenía nada de Argentino, NADIE del staff del restaurante “LOS ARGENTINOS” era latino o al menos hablaba español… Como verdadero Argentino, este lugar es una mentira. Es un simple y muy fallido intento de la gran gastronomía de mi país, ademas que el precio es muy alto en comparación a la calidad de la comida.

Experiencia muy mala. Primero, reservamos por Internet, y cuando llegamos, tuvimos que esperar más de 15 minutos en la calle. Dijeron que andaba mal el servicio de Internet. Segundo, en el restaurante "Los Argentinos", nadie hablaba español, y nadie era argentino. Sólo una foto de Mess, en una pared del fondo. Tercero, nos trajeron una "salsa criolla" por chimichurri. Cuarto, nos trajeron una "salchicha parrillera", por un chorizo casero, y una "provoleta" muy magra, como entradas. Quinto, en la elaboración de los platos, nada tenía "algún toque argentino". Sexto, y por último, no les funcionaba el posnet, cuando quisimos usar la tarjeta de crédito. Somos 4 argentinos, que nos retiramos decepcionados. Es para NO RECOMENDAR.

We really enjoyed our visit. My wife had the filet steak, and I had a rump steak. Both were excellent and very tender. We had baked potatoes. Mine was a little hard, but they replaced it immediately. The staff are friendly and effective. They serve ChiminChuri for the steaks, and it tastes good.

Service Very Poor: cutlery handed back to us after the starters to use again for the mains, no attempt to put the minimal effort in creating a nice atmosphere. Also (because the kitchen was very busy) we had to order everything at once (restaurant 50% busy) Timing awful: we were asked at the end if “everything” was ok, no offer of dessert menu Food: average. Although the meat (and meat only) was alright As a South American - and I do find every country there fascinating - I felt offended. I don’t think I’ll be going again or recommend it. Everything (including music - NOT Argentinian) was wrong. Won’t event comment on the toilets

NOT ARGENTINEAN AT ALL. as an argentinean i feel insulted. the chorizo starter was not good, nothing says argentinean there. Please dont mistake our cuisine for this ...thing. the older waiter is rude. i asked for bread for the 'chimichurri' they give you and they ga e the garlic bread.. i asked to swap the chips of my fish for salad and the rude waiter said no cause it was busy. Strange there was only more 2 couples at that time. wont go again

We visited Los Argentinos and the food was really good it would surely come back but we did need to ask 2 times for our meat to be cooked again when we ordered Medium Rare and it was red.

Food was fab , Steak cooked as wanted and very tasty . Only downfall was one of the waiters seamed so stressed was very abrupt and no time for customers. However the other waiter was lovely when asked how they made soemthing. Would defo return

OK. I ate there once. - Unwelcome initial surprises once seated: No Argentine wines by the glass. (Note the restaurant’s name.) Only beer available - despite the menu - was Stella draught. - Chorizo, not very chorizo-ey. Otherwise, meat was … fine. Unremarkable. + Staff...

We visited the restaurant once again and we were satisfied. Delicious food and nice service. We'll be back for sure.

Not thrilled about our visit yesterday, med stake was rare ( almost blue) , baked potato was horrible, wasn't fresh! Tasted like the 1s u got at school in the 90s yellow and mushy ! Heavy price tag for a below average meal. Better stake resturants around a won't be back . 1 positive sticky toffee pudding was great.

Visited last night with family for a birthday celebration. Steaks were excellent, chips were a let down and sauce pots were far too small - around a teaspoon of sauce (for which you pay extra). NO draught beer at all, no explanation why not. Service was very poor, they need to double the amount of staff on the floor. Consequently, no one enquires whether you are enjoying your meal and ordering dessert and drinks was very difficult, staff don’t have time to go around the tables to ask whether customers would like drinks or desserts and trying to catch a waiter was difficult and, often, we had to remind staff two of our party were without drinks as they simply had not been brought to the table. Really need to up their game if they want customers to return. Nowhere near as good as the fabulous steak house (Parrilla) in Musselburgh. Would not go again.

When we're away for a long weekend we always try to include a visit to an Argentinian restaurant in our itinerary. Argentinians certainly know a thing or two about steak. It was thus that we came to be in Los Argentinos on the evening on...

Delicious steak and nice chips. That's all. Sadly the service was lacking. First note was that I am Gluten intolerant, not allergic, but literally all I could eat was Steak, but informed the waiter that I can eat chips even if they are cross contaminated. But still a very limited choice, I could even eat the nachos(which should be made of corn flour if traditionally made). My wife ordered empanadas. When the food came the waiter check if we had cutlery on our table, but where in every other empty table, but we did not, so he said he would get some. I waited 5 minutes and saw him walk past us twice, which I then reminded him and eventually my wife could enjoy her starter. Then came time for us to enjoy our steaks. The cutlery was taken with my wife's plate but not replaced. This time I wait 1 minute and didn't even try to ask and took cutlery from one of the empty tables myself. Eating our steaks and discussing them we realised that the waiter after checking that my wife order medium rare and I had ordered medium that he had given each of us the wrong steaks. My wife notified another waiter of the mix up to which he first said that we should have noticed on the first pieces that we ate. (You don't pay someone to have to work this stuff out yourself, especially considering on the outside the steaks look the same). We couldn't swap as my wife had spread on her steak the pepper corn sauce provided (which has gluten in it). So they took her steak away and cooked it a bit longer and returned it. Not exactly an enjoyable experience. My wife and I have visited Argentina and enjoyed the steaks there along with the most common red wine, Malbec which goes great with steak. But it wasn't even a house wine choice, just a thought for what's on offer to be an authentic experience. We left, deciding to go elsewhere for a better Argentinian experience.

This place has really gone down hill over the last few years. The service isn’t great. The waiters rushed us and were quite unprofessional. They didn’t seem to care much. The food was okay, but nowhere near as good as it used to be. The steaks are nice but the sides aren’t and the portion of chips we had were ridiculous. Half a tiny bowl. The “chimichuri” seems to have changed over the years and is certainly not authentic. It basically consists of chopped onions in oil and vinegar without any fresh herb whatsoever. The worst part, they’ve still not replaced the chorizo sausage and instead they serve some other kind which is nowhere near as good.

everything is great, the only downside is that the smoke from the kitchen goes to the dining room..

Steak was excellent and service was amazing

Steaks were really good; one of them was a touch over-cooked (ordered medium rare, was fully medium on arrival) but it was so juicy and full of flavour that it wasn't worth making a fuss over. Nachos came kind of "deconstructed" with little pots of sour cream, guacamole and - weirdly - sweet chilli sauce instead of salsa (? lol). No jalapenos either. It was nice enough but not exactly what we'd call nachos. The prawns on the surf and turf, whilst tasty, were very difficult to separate from their shells. We're guessing they had perhaps been in the freezer a while. Two supposedly completely different cocktails - "Passoã sangria" and a Tequila sunrise - looked and tasted 100% identical (as in literally 100%) with the exception of the obviously different base spirit. Also the sunrise wasn't served as a sunrise, i.e. grenadine at the bottom; in fact if I'm honest I doubt it even contained any grenadine. The skin-on chips were top notch but the green side salad was a bit of a half-job; we had to load it up with chimichurri to give it some flavour. I was going to give four stars but, on reflection, and for the price we paid, too much of it was phoned in. The core mains were mostly spot on in terms of quality and flavour, the rest of it... just wasn't. Service was totally unfussed but still responsive; exactly how we like it. Would we go back? On balance yes, but we would confine ourselves to steak and chips.
