Bra ställe, snygg kille i baren. Fräscha toaletter men lite dåligt tryck i kranen. Goda drinkar men förväntade oss roligare dricksglas. Ok Tiki-inredning men kunde varit roligare.

We went twice one during the week and once on the weekend. I would recommend weekday. Staff has more time to make kickass drinks and there’s less college kids!

Louise is the bomb diggity. What a babe!! Ross has the best duck down signet hair times town. Make it your duty to stop by for a photo bomb by Lou Lou.

I've been to many tiki bars in the U.S. This is not tiki. First, the music was salsa...not Hawiian... not carribian either... Every advertisement, poster, and sign pushed Guinness for the Scottish game in Japan...There were eclectic decorations without a real cohesive tiki feel.However the ambiance was good. The drinks were tasty, staff was friendly, but the drinks seemed weak. Okay, but won't return. A tiki bar should sell an experience, not just sweet drinks.

I think initially the place is nice, however it isn’t the friendiest place, which is a right shame. Having drank there as a student, I think the staff could be much more welcoming - especially the on duty manager, who couldn’t have been any unfriendlier if he tried. Such a shame.

Went in as it hosted some fringe events. Had a quick drink but out of date drinks info displayed and staff couldn't really care.

After a couple of drinks, got the offer of a free comedy fringe event, so glad we did! Venue held 20, though 30 got into the second event an hour later, sweaty, close and hilarious, we had a great evening. Emir is downstairs, on benches and next to the toilet - raw fringe! Go for the experience!

We wanted an after dinner drink and stumbled upon this bar. I thought it looked rather rough but we went in because I really fancied a cocktail and I saw they had a list. There was one cocktail that I liked the look of one of them but didn’t fancy the strawberry purée in it. The barman was very helpful and friendly and was very willing to substitute the strawberry purée for passion fruit. He did and it was delicious. The bar had a Hawaiian theme and there were lots of Hawaiian memorabilia in there which made it quite fun. It was a bit rough and ready but welcoming and we had a good service and a lovely cocktail.

Barmen are more than unfriendly . In fact in all my life I have never experienced such complete tossers behind the bar . Some people shouldn’t be near customers . Bad bad bad .

Dropped in for a cocktail which turned out to be very, very good. Then found out there was an open mic comedy night in the basement, and that was even better!

Hallo. Sind hier zu zweit auf einen Samstag abend eingekehrt. Obwohl die Bar recht klein ist und voll war, haben wir zwei Plätze an der Bar bekommen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und haben die Cocktails perfekt zubereitet. Mein Highlight war der Mai Tai. Er ist einer meiner lieblings Cocktails. So gut wie hier habe ich ihn noch nicht bekommen. Perfekter Geschmack mit keiner Show serviert (getrocknete Citrus Frucht on top, Zucker drauf, Rum drauf, angezündet).

Cool bar with tasty cocktails. Staff are friendly and the bar has a cool atmosphere. Not too pricey. Would recommend for whatever the occasion.

This is a wee diamond of a place, the staff were so welcoming and pleasent and the food was lovely. Really impressed and can't wait to go back.

My boyfriend and I were visiting Edinburgh so we decided to pop in for a drink, we walked into a fairly busy place, but no queue at the bar. We went to the bar and they asked my boyfriend what we would like; my boyfriend answered with a cider black and I took about 15 seconds to decide after looking at what was on offer, at this point the barman who asked us walked off with a bucket in his hand, and the other Bar man proceeded to serve the guy behind us, I went and sat and left my boyfriend at the bar. The guy with the bucket then returned and asked what we would like again, at the point the other bar man had finished serving the other guy and after clarifying what’s a cider black was, he poured my Diet Coke, did not do the cider and then preceded to serve the other guy behind us in the queue.

Place had a great atmosphere and everyone in it seemed friendly and made small talk from table to table. Cocktails were a bit on the iffy side but over all this was one of the better bars we visited in Edinburgh

We loved the decor here and how they wanted a tropical feel and so they threw it all out there, tiki, skeletons, grass skirt trim, coconuts, palms, canoes, surfing, and RUM RUM RUM! It is really fun. The bartender from Portugal was very friendly and interesting. Their drinks are quite artistic. ENJOY!

Viele Biersorten, Cocktails, Rum und Whiskey zu bezahlbaren Preisen. Die Jungs an der Bar waren super nett und gastfreundlich. Wir - 45+ aber junggeblieben - haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Musik war non-Mainstream, aber hat man trotzdem schon mal gehört - eher rockig. Gerade beim Vergleich zu den überfüllten teuren Läden 150m weiter am Grassmarket ein echter Geheimtipp!!!

Popped in for cocktails while out in Edinburgh. This is a cool wee bar & the cocktails were awesome - especially the Mai Tai served in a skull mug. Will be back in future when we can

We stumbled upon this place one night and really enjoyed the atmosphere and chatting with Alex, our awesome bartender! When we left our vest behind, Alex was quick to respond to our email the next morning! We then had the opportunity to stop in a second time for another fun visit! If we lived closer, this would definitely be our favorite neighborhood pub.

Visited 52 Canoes whilst on holidays and ended up returning multiple times. The coctails were brilliant and staff were very helpful and friendly especially Dan. Would reccomend to anyone looking for some tasty tikki coctails :)

Good points: the dog was allowed in, the barmaid lovely, beer excellent, an oasis amongst the tourist fest that is the festival and free comedy downstairs. Bad points: the food was dreadfully expensive for a rubbish veggie burger and some thin fries.

Wir sind durch Zufall über diese kleine Bar gestolpert. Das Essen ist hier durchweg gut und die IPA-Sorten gut ausgewählt. Es läuft nette Musik im Hintergrund. Von old School Hip Hop bis alten Alternative Sachen. Irgendwie ist das Teil zu unserem Stammschuppen für einen Absacker geworden, obwohl es hier echt genügend Pubs gibt. Der Laden ist gemütlich und schön bunt. Hier kann man gut an der Bar versacken.

We went there to have a beer and we ended up enjoying a fantastic comedy show, since it was the fringe festival. The place is very originally decorated, staff is nice and the vibe is great!

El hombre del bar que nos sirvió bien grosero y arrogante y las bebidas eran horribles. El peor margarita he tenido incluyendo mi amigo dejó un montón de sal. Cuando nos quejamos, nos dijeron que no sabían lo que estaban hablando. Mis amigos me reacio tendían margarita y mis otros amigos strawberry cóctel (no recuerdo su nombre), aunque me dijeron que eran ambas bien. El Strawberry uno sabe mejor la segunda vez. Margaritas aún estaban horrible. Además mi otro amigo preguntó qué ron oscuro tenían y descuidó decirle que era café con sabores (de hecho sabía bien pero parece algo que diría a un cliente).

Llamamos a shelter de líquido sol algunas pesadas escocés". El personal era amable y atento y recomiendo la cerveza y el chocolate caliente. Visitamos de nuevo en mejor tiempo y me encantó de nuevo, volveremos a probar la comida la próxima vez que estemos en Edimburgo.

I’ll get straight to the point here, I like my cocktails to taste of alcohol and this place delivers! Even the frozen daiquiri’s that we had on a warm summers night were strong and hit the spot!

Stopped in for chicken and waffles and rum punch. Delicious but I mainly remember loving the rum punch most of all. Friendly staff.

Drank in this little place Saturday afternoon and was impressed with its little interior and reasonable priced drinks , with it been so close to Grassmarket square . Special cocktails available , also , various board games free to play if you liked .

Visited one Sunday night for a quick bite before the Cinema. It’s such a quirky little place. There are loads of board games you can play at your table.

This is a super cool little bar with all the best drinks. Music is great and the staff were lots of fun. The zombie head cocktail was a particular favourite and worth the visit alone. Definitely one of my fav bars in Edinburgh. Didn't eat here but the menu and food we saw looked tasty. We visited twice during our trip and will definitely return again!

Frozen pint glases 100% Awesome. Food had big portions. The servers couldnt do enough for us. Had a good hearty meal before we had a day out drinking in Edinburgh and this would be my first place to start.

Estado aquí un par de veces y me encantó este lugar, estaba muy decepcionado, esta vez el lugar parecía muy deteriorado. Sólo tenían unas cervezas de barril para el valentín! El menú era simplemente una hoja de hamburguesas o nachos que solía ser un excelente menú para elegir cuando llegó nuestro nachos eran todos frío! Pero esperamos que nos lo pasamos de largo no podía ser molestada para enviarlos de vuelta. Como para que que era horrible para Prosecco £25! Un tornillo debe de distancia. No volveremos aquí de nuevo!

Visité 52 Canoas en el Grassmarket cuando en un largo fin de semana en Edimburgo y, aunque estaba cerca de la medianoche el domingo, este lugar no era tan bueno como esperábamos.

Siempre me viene a este bar con amigos para un cóctel, ya que tan delicioso y también si te apetece suculenta comida sabrosa os va a encantar lo que tienen en el menú! ! ! ! ! Y los postres son irresistibles! ! ! ! !

Stopped by after seeing Jack Savoretti in Usher Hall, great seat at the bar, good friendly service, wide range of craft beers and cider - also serve cocktails. A genuinely good all round pub on the edge of Grassmarket, Edinburgh. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

Friends had booked two tables at the Grassmarket pub for my hen party. The staff hadn't bothered putting reservation signs on them. The customers would not move when we asked them to and the manager was awful. Friends had called to confirm the booking (for 30) since the rugby was on and were told everything was fine. As we waited to find out what was happening with the reservation the door staff kept letting people in the crammed pub. Terrible customer service.

So much choice of food and drink etc. we had cocktails all night and they're all very exotic and tasty. It's quite a small place though! I would recommend booking a table!

my boyfriend and me stopped here when we were moving flat to have a bit of a break. We were really up for a drink by that point(!) and were not disappointed by the well presented cocktails served here. The nachos were amazing and really generously sized.

We went for a post Christmas girly lunch yesterday. Gem of a place. There were about 15 of us. Staff were great kept the drinks flowing. Food was very good. However the place was freezing. We ended up moving to another part of the bar where it was slightly warmer but not much. Great place and would go back but guys you need to get the heating sorted. Would have been 4* but heating let you down.

Tried to visit this place but they effectively forced us to leave, there was a private booking in the place although no mention of this at the door, unexpected for a Saturday night, won't be back

Well where do I start! We had booked on the 21st to come, we got a phone call and there had been a mix up long story short we had to change to another date. So glad we did. It was the worst weather ever and we arrived 2 adults and 5 hungry kids to be greeted with such a warm welcome, complimentary drinks, to gin punch for the adult absolutely amazing and non-alcoholic punch for the kids , then complimentary platters which were also outstanding, tasty and well received by us all (kids very fussy) ate the lot, because we were so accosting with our change they really pulled out all the stops!! We went on to have the burgers which we delicious, can't thank the guy enough. Will definitely be back what a wonderful find. Thank you.

We made a booking 3 weeks ago for our Christmas night out. We booked a couple tables for 15 people. On the night we arrived and our tables had been given away as they screwed up the booking. Whilst the staff were looking through their planner, I couldn't help but notice the scribble all over it. It was as if a child had been in control of the bookings. After they informed us that our booking wasn't there, the staff walked away and continued to serve other punters, completely ignoring us. Piss poor.

I came here late on Saturday night and we luckily managed to get a table. The menu was extensive with a good range of cocktails (priced around £8), there was also a good range of other drinks - beers/whisky etc - the member of staff we spoke to was very knowledgeable about all the drinks and very friendly.

Delicious food, reasonable prices. Quirky bar and I always see something new on the walls everytime I go! Drinks (especially the cocktails) are great and again reasonable for such a central location.

Went twice whilst in Edinburgh. Both times for cocktails. Both were lovely! Bit pricey but still lovely. Food smelt amazing but we didn't have any. Staff very welcoming, friendly and accommodating!

Staff very friendly and warm, service very efficient, food was quite basic but excellent value, relaxed vibe about the place. You wouldn't go there if you're looking for haute cuisine but if you want good sized portions that'll fill you up it's great for that.

The atmosphere is very laid back. I was there on a quiet afternoon, but I hear it gets quite busy on weekends. The food was good and the drinks were great!

BOOZY MILKSHAKES, I don't have to say more, I will though. The food was very nice, maybe a little pricey for what it was. The drink was also very good, again maybe a little overpriced, which would be my only complaint. The decor was brilliant and the staff were lovely. The atmosphere here is casual and comfortable. I was in Edinburgh visiting a friend and this happens to be one of her favorite neighborhood haunts. I was just hungry for a burger and this was one of the best ever!!! The drinks are especially fun too so... don't hesitate to go out of your way to check this place out!!

Came as part of a hen do, there were around 15 of us. Paid £25 and that was a meal from a selected menu, a cocktail jug on the table on arrival (served in pretty cool skull mugs) and then cocktail making a pina colada and another vodka based cocktail. We were taken up 2 at a time and shown how to make the cocktails, was good fun and we all enjoyed ourselves. The cocktails were really yummy too! The food was gorgeous, well worth the money! The only complaint I would have is it would be better to have the cocktail making in a separate room as it's just done in the main bar area and we would have liked a little more privacy. The stairs down to the toilets are steep so watch for them. Bar staff were all extremely helpful and one even gave us his pass for getting into one of the clubs at a discounted price was a real nice touch!

We dropped in one afternoon for a few cocktails and were really pleasantly surprised! Great fun cocktails, really lovely & approachable staff, and a relaxed and happy atmosphere! We stayed for a couple of rounds and had a fab time. Would definitely come back! We didn't eat there on this trip, but the food we saw looked and smelled good :)

Very quick and really friendly service, fantastic food especially chicken nachos are to die for!! And cocktails omg I never had most amazing and delicious rum cocktails in my life considering even expensive places! Plus milkshakes taste like sweet heaven! Love it!!!!!

Visited over the weekend with 3 friends. the layout of the bar is so quirky and different. The service was brillianr. Out waitress (an australian girl i think) was so attentive and helpful. The food was great value and really well presented. I recommend the pulled pork burrito. The cocktail menu is endless. Some of the nicest cocktails i've had to date. Price is very reasonable, good value for money. I would highly recommend!!

Visited on a busy Friday evening. Staff were really friendly and service was good. Drinks were great, reasonably priced. There is a big rum menu so be sure to check that out and ask the staff about the rums. The decor is cool and the place has a good atmosphere. We had food and unfortunately this was not great, felt microwaved/heated up in the oven rather than fresh. The chicken Parma and wedges felt this way and the steak fries was spicy which the menu didn't state. Would come back but only for drinks.

Visited here, two mums and our daughters for a day out. We went in for cocktails and they were so good we decided to have some food as we began to feel hungry. We chose to share Nachos to begin and I can say they were amazing loved them and there were loads! Mains were also very good, huge portions! and freshly made. Not sure I would go for an evening out to specifically eat there but for an informal day out and about it is perfect. Service was great the guy who served us was hilarious and he made our day. We all said we would definitely go back. Singapore Slings were amazing!!!

The place looked great, a little cheesy but done well, and staff were very friendly.Is billed as a "Polynesian" place, but instead was just a pretty common texmex/American style food, which is fine, but not what the bar is billed as.52 Canoe Zombie cocktail was pretty awesome both visually and taste-wiseFood was ok. Nothing bad, nothing great. The cheese and bacon balls were the only stand out.

I met my friend here and absolutely loved the atmosphere and the drinks. They have special events and reggae night every Sunday. The bar tenders and servers were very nice... and good looking! The bat cave is a fun place to relax or cuddle with your lover. I would totally go back! And, not only are their mixed drinks amazing, the cider they have on tap is pretty good too!!

Had a groupon deal and was not expecting much but delightfully surprised! Had lovely fluffy buttermilk waffles topped with southern fried chicken and maple syrup and a very tasty tequila based punch. Definitely recommend the lunch menu. The guys serving were also really friendly and welcoming X

We had a voucher for 52 canoes and I'm glad. The burgers are nice and meaty but even fries are extra which we're not used to. We also had their own ginger beer. I love ginger but not this it was totally yukky and almost put me off the stuff for life. Tastes brutal doubt we'll be back.

This was The first stop for us in Edinburgh, was not disappointed. Food was excellent and the cocktails were top. Will be back as often as possible.

This is a Hawaii themed bar serving a range of cocktails. It's a good fun bar that serve decent measures and a lot of rum to choose from!

Recently went on a trip to Edinburgh for my stag do. We saw online that this place played beer pong (ring ahead recommended). To say we were well looked after was an understatement! The staff were fantastic as were the cocktails. Few of the lads ate and said the food was unreal!

Recently visited this bar with my partner and if the decor (some of which seems totally unrelated to tiki culture) won't put you off, the food and service sure will.Waited about 15 minutes for 2 drinks on a quiet night, then an exceptionally long time for 2 little burgers that were dry and served along with a pitiful portion of chips that looked like they were bought from the frozen section at a supermarket. The menu didn't list the fact that there was tomato on the burger when my partner is allergic to them.The staff were generally friendly but nobody came back to check whether we needed anything else or queried about the quality of our meal.The restaurant itself is a tacky mess and the food was below the standards I would expect of the west end. I will not be back.

They have a Spanish bartender that really knows his stuff, he made us some cocktails of his own that were amazing, food was good but not great, and service in general, A+Great place I'll definitely come back

The staff are really friendly and there is a grrat selectuin of drinks and food. It is decorated quite well and the atmosphere is great. I would recommend going here for drinks but not food. The portion are good but the food is distinctly average. It is quite cheap for food so I suppose if you were really drunk and needed to sober up then it might be okay. Otherwise I would suggest going elsewhere for food.

Look out, the address is technically on Queensferry Street just past Melville Street. Once we found it, it was so lovely. A nice little spot. Delicious rum punch, amazing chicken and waffles, and great staff!
