I was at the Golf Club with friends for a Christmas dinner. The food was excellent and the staff attentive but not overpoweringly so. It was very enjoyable and I do recommend it as a dining out experience. However, there was one thing missing. No disabled access. I realise that generally speaking, those who frequent a golf club will be fairly fit and mobile, but for the mobility challenged visitor, entry to the building is awkward to say the least. I am disappointed that I will be unlikely to visit again, solely for that reason.

Liberton Golf club is extremely well manicured and looked after. The layout is challenging, and is a test for all golfers. Very enjoyable day.

A superbly presented golf course, and in the past few summers the greens have been like velvet. The professional is ever helpful and knowledgeable. The Clubhouse is vastly improved and now a lot more friendly with the addition of a new Club Manageress (Angie), (the previous Manager could not even ask if you'd had a good round/bad round, nice day/bad day, not very welcoming). She is like a breath of fresh air. Always there with a smile and adding little touches that make it a friendly welcome. I'll certainly be back!

Excellent facilities for function hire. Although music was turned off sharp at 11pm. Bar not too expensive

Course is neat. Good for beginners as the holes arnt too long. Its fun without being overly challenging. The greens were running really fast the day we played. Its in a fair condition. The views are nothing special but the course itself is nice enough. Would play here again.

Great food and great value as the title says. Four of us had fish and chips with salad, two tea's and two bottles of lucozade and came to £37. Then ordered four slices of red velvet cake and a black coffee which came to £9.90. The fish was breaded and not greasy at all and neither were the chips. Also came with a pot of tartar and a wedge of lemon. They even keep glasses in the fridge for with your juice so it's nice and cold which is a really nice touch. The staff were very friendly and I will definitely be back!

Stopped off here between Edinburgh Fringe Festival shows for a spot of late lunch (it is near the Cameo cinema where the Film Festival is hosted). What a treat! Friendly, welcoming staff and an appealing menu with a mild Turkish slant. The vegetable soup was outstanding, the goat's cheese salad was fresh, tasty and generously sprinkled with a variety of seeds and my partner raved about the bacon roll and tea. What's not to like.? Everything on the menu looked equally delicious. The prices were frankly modest. A most enjoyable light lunch.

We visited this beautiful wee gem tucked away in this pleasant suburb of Edinburgh: Newington. The lovely couple who own it ( and two sister restaurants in the city) explained they have changed their emphasis to wine by the glass or bottle with upmarket snacks from local high quality suppliers such as Iain Mellis cheese. We loved the cosy autumn into winter vibe: beautiful tasteful lighting enhanced this. They have a truly fabulous selection of wine to suit all tastes. We can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I came for the 7-course dinner almost a year ago, and were so blown away by the food that we wanted to bring our daughters back to enjoy the experience. Having raved about the food, we then thought that we might have over-hyped it and they would be disappointed. We needn't have worried. The 7-course meal, accompanied by the phenomenal flight of wines, was as delicious, unfussy, and indulgent as we had remembered it, set in relaxed and unpretentious surroundings, with wonderfully friendly and attentive staff. And worth every penny - we've paid a lot more for far less. Definitely our most memorable meal in a long time, for all the right reasons - Purslane alone is worth a trip to this beautiful city.

Food was good value for the price but let down by lack of decor and lack of drinks available. Wouldn’t go back.
