Visited Mellows tonight. I ordered jerk chicken, rice and peas with spinach with a pineapple salsa. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Nice friendly staff that made us feel welcome. Definitely will visit again soon.

I hadn't been to Bodega for at least 5 years but I was disappointed in this recent visit. I used to think it was exceptional and don't know why I hadn't been for so long but now I have a reason to not visit again. The food was poor and took a long time to come but we did clear our plates because we were hungry. It looked like the whole meal was put together in a panic, for example, the nachos came with random ingredients and not much cheese, no guacamole or sour cream. I had to ask where our food was before it came out and then was told that what we had ordered wasn't available after at least 45 minutes after ordering. The service wasn't awful but just didn't make us feel that they cared, our waiter seemed more disappointed that we asked for the service charge to be removed rather than why we weren't overly happy. We were also told that the kitchen made no prep so that's the reason for our food not being spot on but didn't feel like we got an apology as such. It may have just been an off day but there are so many other good places in Birmingham so will avoid Bodega in future.

Really dissapointed! The quality of the chicken and the portion size was really poor. Fried chicken for over £14 which was smaller than the palm of your hand, we asked for more chicken and got refused and asked if we would like anything else off the menu. The drum stick was the size of my thumb and it was poorest jamaican fried chicken iv ever seen. Coating was bland and greasey. My other 2 friends had the same fish but one was a sardine size and the other 3 times the size which is the size it should be. Asked for more fish and explained comparing the fish size and they refused again and asked if you would prefer anthing else. So they threw 2 main cousres away instead of topping them up. Crazy! Tasted my friends mutton curry, again bland in taste but meat was salty. All had small portion sizes. Even the coleslaw was poor. Also sell shots but have no shot glasses. Watch out for the 10% service charge aswell. I felt sorry for the young waitress who done her very best for us. But it was beyond her control. She was great.

Me and my partner had the bottomless brunch in the evening. The service was amazing! The waiter was so friendly and made sure we always had a drink in hand. The cocktails themselves were lovely, recommend the lifesaver cosmo to begin with. The value for money is really good. Portion sizes of the food were a little small which was good for the brunch but maybe not for dinner. The chicken parmi was delicious! Overall definitely recommend!

Fuimos al concierto de los reyes de León en la arena utilita, pero al no ser de la zona, ingenuamente pensé que estaría bien no reservar una mesa con esa cantidad de restaurantes en Birmingham! Obviamente equivocado, el personal en la calle de gas nos encajaron a pesar de no tener una reserva. Nuestro servidor Ben era rápido y amable. La comida era deliciosa, al igual que los cócteles.

What a complete shambles! Very poor communication throughout. After weeks of trying, we eventually managed to book a time to use a Groupon voucher, bought for us as a gift. We travelled nearly an hour to get there, and when we arrived, the place was closed. Gates were padlocked shut and no-one was answering the mobile phone number on thier contact details. An absolute sh1t-show that should be avoided. BEWARE!
