Walkabout Pub & Bar in Birmingham

Me and my partner had the bottomless brunch in the evening. The service was amazing! The waiter was so friendly and made sure we always had a drink in hand. The cocktails themselves were lovely, recommend the lifesaver cosmo to begin with. The value for money is really good. Portion sizes of the food were a little small which was good for the brunch but maybe not for dinner. The chicken parmi was delicious! Overall definitely recommend!

This is an absolutely cracking venue! We visited on a Wednesday night after a Slipknot gig. Free entry! Drinks were very reasonably priced, paid around £15 for a single jack n coke, a single vodka n coke and a pint of Guinness! Staff were lovely and very friendly! Dj was great and played requests. Music was very eclectic, playing everything from linkin park and rage against the machine to dance classics! Great vibe and people! Fantastic interior with awesome street art themed murals in the venue and loos! Places to sit and great area to dance. Would definitely return if ever back in Birmingham! ❤️🤘 Well done this definitely is the place to go ❤️ We got an uber outside after with no issues! Spot on 👌

Couldn’t find our booked table with our name on it for over 20 mins, the waiter was great and drinks came quickly and were very accommodating, however the table we were sat on was right underneath the speaker and was so loud.

Great atmosphere however over 20 minutes to get service such a shame they didn't have enough staff

Came for a bottomless brunch before a gig and Laura who served us tonight was fantastic! She made sure we were served quickly and was really friendly each time, absolute star.

We were served by Laura Kells! She was so lovely and her service was great! She was so friendly and offered speedy service. The next time we're in Birmingham we'd come back for another brunch if we could be served by Laura!

Had a brunch here on a Friday night that was busy. Laura saved our brunch, and made us all feel welcome and made sure we always had a drink in hand! Absolutely amazing!

Had a few drinks, watched football, played pool and shuffleboard. Nice place. Staff were friendly.

Booked bottomless brunch. The drinks were slow as was the food. There was 10 of us and the meals came out separately half the table had finished their food and half still waiting. Had a total of 5 drinks

Además de esto, no había absolutamente ningún ambiente en nuestra sección. Luces todo el camino hacia arriba como si fuera la mitad del día (estuvimos allí a las 7 pm) y no había música. Estábamos sentados en un silencio brillante, más como una entrevista de trabajo que como un sin fondo... El ÚNICO factor redentor de nuestra experiencia tiene que ser un muchacho llamado Tyler. Este hombre vino y corrió para ordenar la comida, ordenar las bebidas y tratar de hacer lo mejor de lo que fue, en otras palabras, un comienzo sambólico de nuestro tiempo allí. No fue ninguna de nuestras primeras veces sentado sin fondo y desafortunadamente este simplemente no resistió lo que otros lugares ofrecen a mis ojos

Pedí una hamburguesa sin salsa. Salió con salsa. Lo devolví y tomé dos bocados de lo que salió y me di cuenta de que todo lo que habían hecho era limpiar la salsa y servirme la misma hamburguesa. Desde entonces han estado enfermos para que Dios sepa qué más podrían haberle hecho. Un comportamiento absolutamente repugnante. Quienquiera que esté trabajando en la cocina y crea que es aceptable, debe ser despedido.

Charged me for someone else's drink. Asked for a refund. Rude bar staff member. Manager told me he had cancelled transaction. Clearly lied as payment was taken from account.

This used to be our local when we visit Birmingham. We went in on a rainy Thursday afternoon. The pub was quiet, as normal. we ordered our drinks on the app as we normally do. After waiting 15 minutes we had to go and ask the bar staff about our order. Even though there was four staff at the bar. They all where more concerned in chatting than dealing with us. Staff member brought us our drinks at a table. He was claiming the printer had run out of paper. Why? This issue has happened more than once when we go into walkabout Birmingham. We was going to order food but now the menu has changed it doesn't really suit us and we feel it's got more expensive. I also witnessed food that was sitting ready and staff were really slow to collect from the serving hatch and deliver to tables...

Amazing atmosphere nights time loved it

Great place to watch football. I went during the weekday in the afternoon and it's worth going if you want a cheap pint. 3 pound for a pint of Foster. I'll recommend going there for that price and football atmosphere when it's on. Great atmosphere and it was never quiet when I worked there all those years ago.

Perfect spot for after work socials. Staff are friendly and welcoming. New food menu is great especially the matchday platter. Amazing set up for Sport. Amazing all rounder for everyone

Came in to try the new food and was really impressed. Definitely recommend the hash burger. Was nice to be able to catch all the sport on over the weekend too on all the screens.

An Australian theme to this late night venue. Offering deals on beer and shots, loud music throughout, the outside smoking terrace was really the only place you could have a chat. Unless you wanted to dance, why come here at all?

Went last night for euro final & very mixed feelings tbh! Pre match music in my opinion was excessively loud bordering on dangerously loud & not pleasant tbh (DJ seemed to have certain songs on repeat which was a bit sad & strange tbh). On arrival was told “sorry your free drink voucher won’t work tonight” hmmmmm tad suspicious that, £12 for a 2 pint drink bordering on daylight robbery IMO. Would I visit the venue again….. NOT A CHANCE

Here watching the sports at 5pm on the weekend and they're booming music to the point my ear drums are rattling. I've read reviews stating "customers prefer the music" I highly doubt that as it's mainly sports fans in here right now.

Work colleagues and I have been attending the walkabout Broad st for about 12 months, for an afternoon beer after work! We continually visit as you have the luxury of the terrace in good weather, the booths in poor weather and all the sport to catch up on. We have got to the know the staff well as they are all very hospitable and nothing is too much trouble. However this niceness was far exceeded on Sat 29th June when Jess helped me arrange a 60th Birthday Party for about 30-35guests From the moment we arrived at 2pm everything was ready us - we stayed until way beyond our scheduled time, leaving around 10.30pm. During this time we had nothing but praise for all the staff and the buffet food was excellent. Jess and her able team made our afternoon and evening a night to remember. There was only praise and positive comments from all that attended. Lovely memories created, made even more enjoyable by an excellent team of staff!

Could be friendlier. Chatting between employees is more important than the well-being of the customers.

The atmosphere inside was great, even for a Wednesday afternoon. They had a great happy hour deal on some drinks. Had an amazing server beheld the bar who was very sociable and chatted to us whenever we went up to the bar to get the drinks. The server’s name was Mitchell

Euro round of 16 for England Game. Mitchell the waiter was absolutely superb, so so helpful and was very kind. As someone who works in customer service, he delivered absolutely excellent service! Deserves all the praise

We had the most phenomenal and hospitable bartender in the whole of Birmingham, named Mitchell. Thank you for suggesting which drinks to go for because I wasn't sure. There's a large selection to choose from. The atmosphere inside walkabout is electric and staff were friendly Mitchell was the loveliest of them all. Superb place.

Unbelievable. We came to watch the football, but we couldn't hear anything because of the deafening music from the DJ.. Do not come here to watch sports..Staff said people prefer it this way.

Charging £5 entry to watch the England game is scandalous. We went Brasshouse across the road instead, they didn't feel the need to rip off football fans.

A typical sports bar to have a few drinks at. Has a few screens to watch the footy. I didn't eat there but the food looked reasonable priced.

Great venue for watching sport but can you explain your fee on the door to watch England when other venues along the same street Heidi's etc are not great atmosphere great staff and very welcoming I just don't understand your fee procedure when your customers will be spending at the bar during their time with you KRO

Loved it. Great vibes. Good food. Good selection of entertainment... we went from watching the footy to a karaoke... EDIT: MAY 2024: Ladies be very careful whilst you are here. Keep you eyes open, stay with your mates and don't accept drinks from strangers. I won't go into detail on here but an incident happened.

Visited here last week for a couple of pints and a bite to eat. Food was really good. Great value for money and the service from Mitchell was incredible. Very professional and he is a credit to the establishment

Potentially a great place for a drink and meal. Unfortunately it took nearly 40 minutes to get served due to a lack of staff.

Loved watching the f1 here. Had gone to watch at f1 experience to be told it was fully booked. Looked in walkabout could still book I think jeans was an issue on a Sunday afternoon . The staff member was interested in parties for playing the actual races. We must have looked like we weren't Monaco race ready !! Walkabout was good got there half an hour before ordered food which was fab and had drinks watching the race with commentary .Staff were lovely as was busy with a playoff final on as well. The hail and thunder ⛈️ arrived but wasn't an issue. Love commentary in toilets so you don't miss anything !! Fish and chips and club sandwich and onion rings perfect 👌 Sarah Smith

Excellent public house on the canal renamed Botanicals as they are specialising in gins and cocktails Fabulous interior with interesting artefacts Clean toilets Nice staff Fab outside area and a first floor balcony overlooking the canal

Came for a family meal on the balcony in the sun and the views of the Birmingham canal were exceptional would definitely recommend, affordable, good quality and all around great atmosphere! Cheers walkabout

They used to have a much better menu kangaroo burgers ostrich steaks. The food is now very middle of the road. My burger bun was burnt and the burger seemed like it was cheap and frozen. The drinks were good but I was a little disappointed walkabout. You were much better with a much better menu. It's very dark in there.

Worst barman I've ever encountered, people all over the globe desperate for work and your paying this guy wow. The most bone ideal lazy man I've met in my life he wouldn't last 5 minutes at my work totally unbelievable.

I recently tried the burger at Walkabout, and unfortunately, it was quite ordinary and dry. Additionally, the fries were not crispy enough, leaving much to be desired from the meal.

Big thank you to Jess and the team at Walkabout Birmingham. We booked Walkabout & Felson's for a private party, which had to be arranged very last minute. Jess and the team were absolutely incredible. They responded so quickly to my enquiry and worked with me to build our ideal booking. On the night, the bar staff were fantastic; they were helpful and friendly throughout, despite it being very busy for them with such a large group. All of the attendees had an amazing time, saying that the venue was the perfect mix of vibes, for a more chill & chat downstairs in the Felson's, or for party & dancing in the club upstairs. Highly recommended if you are looking for somewhere for a group booking, or just for a great night out in Birmingham. We will definitely be returning!!

It was felsons, downstairs we ordered cocktails which were the worst I've seen made an completely different even tho it was memt to be the same drink, the barman clearly had no experience an when questioned he just said it was ment to be like that? The food was by the far the worst I've experienced ordered a double chicken burger which only had 1 on it , when asked they told me it was a bigger chicken burger than normal so it counts as 1 🤦‍♂️. ( god knows what would of happened if I order the triple).The pork nachos had next to no meat in. There customers service , well there was none ,they didn't care at all.the pool table was dated and rough , the 1 cue had a broke tip, even the bar its self had open electrical work on show , whole place was a joke, 100% never going back there!!!!

We came here last Friday for the WKD night, was a great atmosphere and the staff behind the bar are very attentive and polite. They deserve a pay rise! Would reccomend 😊

This used to be our venue of choice for Super Saturday. Now it Sux Nations, with NO atmosphere, the drink and food options are beaten by my corner shop. I'd love it if the staff were rude but they need to be engaged and interested to at least get up to that level. Pathetic and uninvolved is the closest to a complement I can get. The best reaction I could have got would have been if the doormen had refused us entry. Not even they could do their job

Bouncer physically assaulted me by strangulation, so brutal the vessels above my eyes burst. Incident occurred in the men’s toilet, bouncer followed me into cubical and grabbed me from behind in a choke hold then proceeded to strangle me around the neck. The management staff were fully aware of this unprovoked attack so don’t act all shocked.

Attended this establishment with a group of 8 to watch the football, atmosphere was decent unfortunately everytime any of us went up to the bar to order a drink off the bar we were met with unnecessary ignorance, the bar man was unhappy to serve us drinks and was grumpy anytime we ordered a drink. Spent a considerable amount of money between the group but unfortunately felt like we were not welcome.

Was there on a Thursday night, pretty quiet but okay. Staff were friendly enough. Although the bar area has had a lot of improvements, the toilet is rank! Not been changed in about 20 years! They absolutely stink.

It's a bit meh. They say they have student deals on, however, they still charge a lot. Music is okay but the spray man seems a bit pushy and it always seems a bit empty for a "trendy" place. Smoking area is tiny and it's hard to get past literally anyone. Last time I went at some point around 2am, my friends and I were escorted out without a reason as to why. Trust Regency doorstaff agency to ruin a night out. If you're looking for a place to go out, O'Neill's Broad Street would be a better alternative

2 girls working behind the bar, one was clearly new, which is fine, but the moment you walk in you don’t get a greeting or a smile, absolutely disgusting, any normal greeting with a normal person would’ve been better than walking in here as a paying customer only wanting a drink. i didn’t ask for the world, i asked for 2 drinks, at 2pm on a thursday afternoon, not rushed off their feet, we seemed like inconvenience.

Went here on 23rd December with 4 friends of mine who were all women. As I was being checked by the bouncer on the door, I was told that I had to pay to get in, however the four girls I was in were getting in for free. I asked why this was as felt this wasn’t right but was told “because the boxing is on”. So they all walked in and was forced to pay to gain entry. I don’t mind paying to get into a place, but to say that I have to pay because I’m a man felt very discriminative. It just seemed to be a bit of joke for the bouncers and staff on the entry and tbh just didn’t feel very welcomed there at all.

A decent bar, a bit too dark inside for my liking. Seemed way quieter than the other pubs we went to for a Friday night. But a decent pint nonetheless.

The place to be. Good beer, great burgers and live sport on a ridiculous amount of screens. Followed by an epic party afterwards.

Cheesy but had a great night. Floor was really sticky! Punters rude not walkabouts fault. DJ was blasting out some old cheesy tunes.. and even gave a shout out for my cousins 21st. Photo booth in the entry was a nice touch!!
