So Nice Caribbean Takeaway & Restaurant. in Birmingham

I Went to get soup at 4.15 pm I was told the soup had just finished so I decided to have ox tail with food What a big disappointment the food had no taste the ox tail didn't look like ox tail and it certainly didn't taste like ox tail. I called the shop up and told him the ox tail was not good what a waste of money I won't be going back. It is very hard to find a food shop that comes close to BINGS... The joke is my husband went to the same shop after he had finished work at 7pm to buy me soup he was told the soup had just finished so did the soup finish at 4 or 7 if you didn't have any just say you don't have any left.

Open Early, lots of choices, very clean and authentic caribbean food

So my son ordered me Rice & Peas and Curried Mutton plus his own food. I was hungry and ready for a nice Caribbean meal. Omg, I put some mutton in my mouth and almost choked on the fat and gristle ( if you are buying ‘mixed mutton’ at least cut the fat off) Rice & Peas was ok ‘at least better than the mutton’. Iwas so disappointed but needed to eat so I ate the dry rice and peas., there wasn’t much gravy at all… Absolutely gutted

After a night shift i went to buy a small peanut porridge....when i got home the porridge was not thick, i tried to thicken it with flour in the end i had to throw it away, i just remembered why i went once before and never again 🙄🙄🙄

Haven’t had coco bread for a long time. So I tried it and it was really good, soft and a little sweet. Perfect

The food here is absolutely amazing especially the curry goat rice & peas with steamed veg. It is reasonably priced & the staff are very polite & the service they give is exceptional. I'd give ten stars across the board. Long may it continue this way

Amazing food and friendly staff

AWFUL and a complete rip off. First time trying this place and can confidently say we will not be returning. Ordered 2 large mutton curry and rice portion was questionable(had to have white rice as they were out of rice and peas) seeing as rice and peas is a staple of carribean cuisine this is pretty poor as should have this available at all times, it's like going into a south asian restuarant and them saying they are out of chapattis. The only saving grace the mutton was tender however it lacked flavour and the gravy/sauce was diluted to within an inch of its existence. I wouldn't have minded paying the £30 had it been to standard but this was well below what we have had from anywhere else. I had to write this review because this place is most definitely not what it should be. Make it better not acceptable to serve your customers this.

Had a sub par experience after being excited from the radio jingle and positive online reviews. The jerk chicken tasted stale. Festival tasted of pure cornmeal not my taste. Tasted much better.Customer service was great but it food didn't match up. Disappointed. Make your own judgement

This is the worst Caribbean take away in Birmingham, The food was utterly disgusting, The West Indian lady not sure if she was the manager as she addressed me as Hey with no introduction, and very unhappy that I returned the sloppy greasy food, following my phone call (sloppy curry goat and grainy rice) Mac and Cheese turned out to be pasta and melted cheese, it was absolutely tasteless…and definitely not Mac and Cheese, Food presentation again sloppy looked like like a 2 year old child had been playing with the food, the price is outrageous, food served in small containers, total wast of money. We will never visit this venue again, I have also advised my friends not to waste time or money here, service was also very slow to add insult to injury. I hope the owner reads this review as he/she needs to make serious changes. I am sorry i forgot to take images to show how disgusting the food looked not to mention the flavourless food…YUK!POOR CUSTOMER SERVICES I JUST ABOUT MANAGED TO OBTAIN MY REFUND.

Customer service is appalling, prices are extortionate would possibly be justifiable if the food was actually nice. They do not listen to customers request, they completely ignore you, do their own thing & charge prices out of thin air. I used to eat from here occasionally, but NEVER again. This womans attitude makes the very few dishes that are decent UNENJOYABLE.

I would like to say how impressed I am with So Nice take away business. I decided to introduce my work colleagues to the taste of Caribbean food. From start to finish the service was second to none, 21 orders all received and every mouth full was so enjoyable and tasty, through to the last spoonful. I think we had nearly everything on the menu. The staff were so helpful and even created a veg curry dish for the vegetarians which was not on the menu. So happy I chose them to impress my colleagues who will not foget the great taste of Caribbean food and the "Sexy juice" really got them talking 😋 😀 Will definitely be visiting again soon. Thank you all and we appreciate your great work 💕

Had a portion of fried chicken by itself which was ok. I was happy with the portion size too for what I paid, and happy that he was open really early in the morning!

£5 for one piece of chicken cut up into pieces, not saying nothing else, I woulda rather check the chip shop where I'm not getting ripped off. She tried to call it a portion but when I put it back together it was just one chicken wing. ABSOLUTE LIBERTY selfish fritter needs some dam selfish aswell never again will I spend my money here

I ordered from here although I am not from the area and the gentleman who runs the business on his own is beyond lovely. He was so friendly and kind and had my food ready for me as soon as I stepped through the door. The food is INCREDIBLE and I can’t wait to go back for more. :)

Absolutely appalled. Got soup and there’s was hardly any food in there, the chicken looked like it wasn’t meant to be apart of the soup, looks like they just got another piece of chicken, cut it up and put it in the container. Not only that ordered a steamed fish with rice and peas and the WHOLE THING. WAS COVERED IN OIL! There was so much oil the rice was drenched. And it was £12. Disgraceful. I used to eat from here but never again!

Went today had some curry goat and white rice. Wow food was absolutely amazing the meat was tender and juicy not dry at all and not greasy and the rice has a sweet taste to it (I need to know where they buy their rice from) Food is exceptional nice and its worth my travelling time. Well done So Nice you are my first and only choice of takeaway food when I don't want to cook. Please don't change your chef👍🏽👍🏽

Good food well priced and open really early for breakfast I think from 5-6am.

The food is nice and the staff are nice and pleasant but they are terribly slow. If there is more than one person in the shop I go elsewhere as I know it's going to be 10 mins to get served. They run out of some food early so if you have waited in the queue they may not have what you want so you have to put up with what they have or go without.

The quality of the food is good however my aunt booked them for catering for 300 people. Let me tell you she was robbed. The man Trevor said to my Aunt he cooked one whole of goat. This establishment charged nearer 3k for this Occasion a death of a loved one. The family have been left embarrassed my Aunt will never forgive Trevor for this. They are not caterers they don’t know how to measure portions. This is because they are only a dumpling Shop. Leave the catering to proper caterers. Shame on you Trevor of So Nice you let Us down big time.. DO NOT USE THIS FOOD SHOP FOR CATERING THEY ARE CLUELESS. WE WERE LEFT WITH NO FOOD UNDER 200 PEOPLE WERE THERE FOOD RAN OUT THEY ARE A DISGRACE.

I have been a customer of So Nice Takeaway from day one and has always enjoyed the food and the majority of times the service. The food is always a good standard and the kitchen area always appears clean and tidy. The atmosphere can be good depending on who’s serving. What I used to like best about this takeaway was the consistency with the standard of the food. The owner as I know him to be friendly and honest. With that thought and being a loyal customer I decided to use them for a very sad and personal loss within my family. We paid Thousands of pounds for them to cater for 300 family and close friends. However as nice as the food was So Nice did not cater for 300 people. 1 portion of chicken was chopped into 3 and 4 pieces Mutton ran out so quickly The soup ran out in fact everything ran out. The professional response to my humiliation of no food left was some people went up twice. If your a professional cater you would know that’s the normal behaviours of some guest, but not all of them. Considering there was way under 200 people in the hall. This establishment left us feeling embarrassed and robbed of my hard earned funds. The embarrassment didn’t stop there, no better quality plastic cutlery was available just those cheap white takeaway forks that you need to put 3 together so as not to break. Takeaway Napkins 1ply. The situation just got worst as the evening progressed. However So Nice were well packed up and gone. Nothing on the table for a few evening guest. I really understand the issue here so Nice is a good takeaway. They are not caterers and we have to be mindful of that when having special events that cost a lot of money. Don’t make the same mistake I did. I will say this my complaint to the owner fell on deaf ears. His response after my years of supporting him was I should have phoned him at the takeaway and he would of sorted something. But I had already informed his partner about the food. Do Not Use For Catering They are not experienced enough for sensitive and special family functions you can’t charge for 300 portions of soup when only 60 people received soup before it ran out. This has been my experience. I will never use them again and I will never forgive them. Fix up. MB

Quite popular Caribbean take away or eat in. Not only are the meals well prepared but they have obviously taken on board current healthy eating trends and have somehow managed to retain that Caribbean flavour to their dishes. Highly recommended and definitely worth a visit.
