Fuimos al concierto de los reyes de León en la arena utilita, pero al no ser de la zona, ingenuamente pensé que estaría bien no reservar una mesa con esa cantidad de restaurantes en Birmingham! Obviamente equivocado, el personal en la calle de gas nos encajaron a pesar de no tener una reserva. Nuestro servidor Ben era rápido y amable. La comida era deliciosa, al igual que los cócteles.

We turned up unannounced hoping to get served, the lady saud we were welcome to sit outside, Met up with our friend from Australia, wicked service from Jason, he's the man!

Avoid! I booked a table for a birthday night out and they took a deposit from my account. When we got there, the place was closed! I have messaged them and commented on their social media and they haven't responded.

Thank you for a great night last time we were celebrating my sister's 40th. It was a really great atmosphere and @Simon Boswell was excellent!. We thoroughly enjoyed the night thanks for a truly memorable night!. It was a really friendly vibe and would definitely recommend 👌

Visited here for some drinks for the first time, very disorganised, cocktails had hardly no measures in, ordered a Long Island iced tea and cosmopolitan, one tasted like coke and the other just cranberry juice. There were even people walking out because it took so long for drinks to arrive/get ordered. Shame because it has the potential to be a really good canal side bar!

The only positive thing is, we had a table booked and only had to wait 5 minutes to be seated. The host/ bouncer did advise us on whether to order drinks online or with a server. We ended up ordering drinks after 20 minutes due to slow service. The drinks didn’t had any alcohol in it, and were therefore overpriced.

Complete waste of your life... Waited half an hour to be served, having already complained to security who seemed more interested in starting trouble than the feedback... Only to wait at least another 20 mins with no sign of drinks so just left .. All tables around us in same boat getting more fed up. Waiter sauntering around achieving naff all and other staff busy sorting out their own roll ups... Avoid

We managed to walk in and get a table as most places in the mailbox area were booked. The bar was good at accommodating this. However the bar can do with refurb. The music& decor is questionable, card machines not working (took over 4 attempts abs 3 card machines to pay successfully), staff were chaotic as there’s no proper way to key in orders as done all on paper. We ordered drinks and we still hadn’t received for over 45 mins cos the gentleman had forgotten to write down. Wouldn’t go again purely due to the mayhem. Security on door were great.

We happened to pass by this place on our way to the main (overcrowded and impersonal) bars, and saw karaoke - so of course we had to pop in for a nosy. It was quiet when we arrived, but grew busier as the night went on. The drink selection was good for a fussy drinker, with DIET LEMONADE which seems impossible to find anywhere else. We had beer, 2 for 1 cocktails, spirits - all of which we were happy with. The staff were fantastic, friendly, down to earth and enjoying their night at work as much as we were enjoying ours out. The owners seemed to have a real respect for their staff that you wouldn't find in a larger chain of bars. The toilets were even lovely. We chose to stay there and didn't move on until bedtime and we'd certainly return when we're next in Birmingham (if the karaoke is on again!)

Friday night and most of hteir beers were off and nothing in the cellar! Nice place let down by the cellerman! Not the best.

Been a couple of times now to 52 Gas St, good clean and friendly place. One of those places you don’t feel out of place and nice to feel one of the in crowd. Be a nice place to meet friends in the summer by the canal

We had our work Christmas party here. Lovely venue, great atmosphere. Large selection of drinks and the food was excellent. I have never eaten so well at a work Christmas party - a tasty and plentiful selection of hot and cold food and deserts. I was really impressed! Many people enjoyed the karaoke too! This was my first visit to 52 Gas Street but I would certainly return!

Huge thanks for how this venue accommodated about 40 of us - the cast of a Christmas Carol - and put on kareoke at short notice. They staff were wonderful.

First off we have only visited once so it would be unfair to say it's fantastic or decidely average. Me and my friend popped in early on a Monday evening so it was never going to be full or display it's true level of ambience. What we found was a lovely warm prodiminately wooden decor with some great textures. Very welcoming staff and some great beers. The place was very clean, toilets (the gents anyway) were really nicely finished. Will have to return at a busier time to get a true feel for the place, which we will do before long. It's in a good location and sits nicely beside the canal, looking forward to sitting outside in the warmer months ahead. It hasn't been trading long but Billy, the owner (apologies if I'm wrong there) was telling us there are plans in the pipeline that sounded good to us-sorry, no spoilers. As I say,we will be back and I look forward to introducing my friends to the venue.
