The best restaurants serving Other european-cuisines food in Highlands and Islands

We were lucky that they were still open for a very late lunch as we came from remote Loch Quoich. Hospitality was superb as well as the food. Ambiance is nice having tables alongside the shop shelves and the terrace on the porch looking over green

I went there for lunch with my husband, daughter and two friends. The garden is gorgeous, the barn is cosy and imaculate, with an amazing view over Little Loch Broom and with a wooden fire. Linda and Mike were extremely friendly. The pancakes were delicious, big portions and they all arrived at the same time. The chocolates were scruptious and they had some toys and colouring for our 5 year-old. We will definitely cine back!

Had a burger here and it was delicious. Van is sighted by the sea and you can sit at a table overlooking the loch and enjoy your food, excellent.

I had the most delicious onion soup. A little bit pricey but for a treat, totally worth it. Most of the menu is best for sharing. But there’s a few bits you can enjoy on your own. Super friendly staff and a cosy atmosphere.

Delicious food BUT - not happy being charged £7 for 2 glasses of water, and a little more effort could have been put into the background music which sounded like radio one despite none of the customers looking like they were under 50.

I enjoyed a Friday evening meal with friends. We had 3 courses and coffee. Food was delicious and staff friendly. A good range of dishes to suit all tastes and they even had AF beer. Though quite busy, we were able to enjoy conversation. Highly recommended!

The freshly baked goods here are very delicious and quite well made. The coffees were a delight. The service was friendly and I enjoyed my time here.

Een echt schots bistro’tje. En wat een lieve man staat er in de bediening. Enorm mee gelachen, ontzettend gastvrij en heerlijk makkelijk, maar lekker eten. In Forse konden we niet zoveel vinden qua lekkere restaurants, dus het was de moeite waard om 20 minuutjes omhoog te rijden voor dit restaurantje!

Loved it. A step above pub grub in a brilliant way. Excellent choice in the menu and the food was tasty, well cooked and plentiful. The staff were very friendly and Sunday lunch a dream. We had a very acceptable Sunday lunch. The beef was so nicely cooked and all fresh ingredients. Will definitely be back. Sssh. New best local.

We didn’t eat at the restaurant but we we’re lucky enough to have Rupert come and cook for us for our wedding. It was an absolutely amazing display of chef work with a 5 course menu which highlighted the west coasts spectacular produce. Each course was extremely well thought through and we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding meal. Rupert is also a genuinely lovely bloke who is passionate about serving what is local and at its very best. Can’t wait to stop by at the Gorse Bush at the next opportunity.

With friends for afternoon tea, welcome when we went into the hotel.also chef came and acknowedged us and welcomed us in to the diningroom,food was fabolous lovely selection and plenty of it ,refills of tea and coffee were no problem ,definately the best afternoon tea we have had for a long time 👏👏

La comida es digna de 5 estrellas. La ubicación es preciosa y justo en el río Ness. Teníamos una mesa preciosa justo en la ventana. Pero, solo puedo darle a este restaurante 4 estrellas, sin embargo, porque estuvimos literalmente allí durante 3 horas. Nuestra reserva fue a las 7 p.m. y no salimos hasta las 10 p.m. El tiempo entre cursos era increíble e innecesariamente largo. Estuvimos allí tanto tiempo que realmente no tuvimos tiempo para nada más después de la cena, que fue desafortunado.

We had a lovely sit in the garden while enjoying our coffee, hot chocolate and cake. The owner was lovely and turned out to be Belgian (we are Dutch), so we had a nice chat. If we're ever in the area again we will surely drop in again!

Pierre is a talented chef and prepares beautiful food using local ingredients to a fixed daily menu.
