My husband and I went for lunch there after seeing the ‘2 courses for £14’ offer. The menu had plenty of choices of mains, 4 choices of starter and 3 choices of puddings. The service was excellent; our drinks, then our starters came quickly. Our main courses came within 10 minutes of the starters being removed. The food was tasty; had fresh ingredients and the servings were generous. The server was friendly and polite. All in all it was a delightful experience!

Food was absolutely terrific and fast. However, the two young ladies serving us were awful. The first just couldn’t get the order correct and came back twice to check her confusion being had we ordered the correct number of meals - 7 people, 7 meals ordered….. it didn’t really take the brain of Britain to work out that it was correct! The second was rude and just generally not very interested! I am absolutely in favour of establishments employing local young people, however, perhaps more training or better selection is needed. Clearly both of these girls were not cut out for customer service, disinterested and also very young!

Excellent value for money (for staying as well as dining). Lovely views. Strongly recommended. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Plus points · Squeaky clean premises. Large living/dining/kitchen room, with a large TV. Clean, fresh linen. Although we could not take advantage of it, the Inn being right below the rooms would have meant we could have had food and drinks at our convenience. The place is within a short walking distance of SPAR, a reasonably well stocked grocery store for essentials. Fresh milk in the fridge! Could have been better: · Well, there was just one pan and one pot in the kitchen. I sincerely feel a few more of these would be very useful for future guests. There are excellent electric radiators everywhere, but the choice of timer settings should be preferably left to the guests. A mixer tap for the hot and cold water in the bathroom would be extremely useful. The bathroom door bolt (from inside) needs attention. We went with close friends, but not close enough for people to walk in freely when one is using the bathroom! In today's times, segregation of trash is a must. We felt bad dumping all our trash in the same bin

Went in for a family lunch. Drinks ordered and arrived promptly. Ordered food and the starters arrived soon after. The main course took longer to come out, the roast beef was very good. The fish and chicken burger were a bit over done. Waited for staff to clear table so we could order puddings. Waited, and waited. The table next to us came in, they give their drinks order, drinks were taken out. They then ordered food. Another table who came in after us had their main course plates cleared. The staff who were standing by the till looked over several times. It was clear we had finished eating, I had started to put the plates together for collection. Anyway, nearly 30mins later we left and went for ice-cream else where. Would recommended if not in a hurry.

We have been blessed over the years with good restaurants on the Black Isle - the Culbokie Inn is keeping that high standard flourishing. The menu is varied, the staff are delightful, the food is well prepared and beautifully presented - personally, their seafood platters are top of my list - great selection of seafood - you won't get better. Their desserts carry a calorie warning but are to die for - especially the home made cheesecakes. If you have not been - get it onto your bucket list. If you have been you will no doubt have been back.

My wife and I had a lovely meal there last Sunday . I heard it was very good an got quite busy as a result . Being a Sunday - I thought we better book in advance (earlier that day) . We booked at five p.m. hoping to miss the busy lunch time . They have an adequate number of staff . Many places have too few staff , and this just spoils things . We would certainly recommend the Culbokie Inn for a meal , and you can have a drink if you wish .

Welcoming atmosphere, and staff were very polite and friendly, but slow service to offer drinks. Starter was lovely but main was appalling! Roast beef raw cold and chewy. Mash over heated in microwave and horrible lumps. Chips over cooked and dry. Waitress apologised but there was no offer of a discount or refund. We love to eat out, and take family/friends to enjoy. Sadly this won’t be one of those places we return to. 👎

Visited tonight and asked for Vegan options. These were written on a piece of paper and read out by the owner but when I politely requested for it to be left with me to choose at my leisure she seemed to take offence to this. My daughter ordered sausages and they were burnt so she left most of them and I informed the very pleasant waitress when she came to clear our table of this. Upon leaving the owner (Anne) gave us the bill, I quickly scanned it and asked if she had missed out the sausages as they didn’t appear on the bill, she abruptly, and without eye contact said “you said they were burnt so we didn’t charge you” to which I thanked her, however, she did not mention this until I brought it up and there was no further comment regarding it. I didn’t feel our custom was appreciated. She should have acknowledged the fact and apologised and advised that she had not charged us - but nothing! Because of this I will not recommend (as I did previously) nor will I go back. It is not chesp to eat out as a family of four and I expect to be treated well when we do. Such a shame as her staff are faultless and the food is good.

I visited last year after the buzz of the tourist season with my daughter and her partner. We went for the Sunday roast and it was like the cold roast beef you would buy from a supermarket. Thinly sliced, cold with a bistro gravy on top! Tea was in a small cup and when I asked for hot water to top it up as it got cold quick, I was given a jug of hot water!!! How can anyone serve meat like that and claim it is the Sunday Roast! Won't be back. I had previously visited months before during the tourist season and had tasted the Sunday roast which was good, but obviously after the rush of visitors, shop bought appeared to be the best they could offer locals.

We managed to try something a little different (Pigeon Breast Salad), which was very tasty. We had the steak and ale pie and salmon for mains and both were delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the whole place had a warm cosy feel. There was a mix of couples and families. Only recommendation is to make a booking in advance and it's not a big restaurant. We'd definitely eat there again.

Lovely food, really nice place and staff really friendly. Even better the bar is dog friendly. Will go there again if I'm in the area.

I could have done my entire dinner on butternut squash soup, it was just too good! plus macaroni cheese was quite good also. Servise was quite hospitable, highly recommended

Recomendable.

Haven't been back at Culbokie Inn for a few months, so decided to give it a go yesterday evening. If anything, the quality of the food was even better than last time, and the service was quick and friendly. The Inn was busy when we arrived, but we were the last diners. However, everything was just excellent. I had the sirloin steak, which was first class. Looking forward to a return visit soon! Best to make a reservation in advance during the busy summer season.

We had a lovely sit in the garden while enjoying our coffee, hot chocolate and cake. The owner was lovely and turned out to be Belgian (we are Dutch), so we had a nice chat. If we're ever in the area again we will surely drop in again!

Spectacular sea bass dish, prompt friendly funny service and nice birthday celebration atmosphere - ideal dinner stay up North, well done Wick.

Don't normally do this as I read far too many negative reviews and, tbh, wonder why some folk bother. I would stay and eat here again in a heartbeat. Excellent food, the scrambled eggs is probably the best I've ever had (& I've had plenty), but the overall experience of staying at eating at LT is beyond words.

We booked online for a party of 14 and revived a very quick response and confirmation. The atmosphere and service was great, the food however was absolutely spectacular. The specials of scallops were enjoyed by a lot of my colleagues and the tuna with tempura prawns were absolutely fantastic. The kitchen was also able to cater for my colleague who is gluten free and they also enjoyed their meal!

Just brilliant. Every bite was fantastic, service pleasant and always there, but not imposing
