Aspendos in Highland

Nice at restaurants and good clean in washroom but I was eat grill salmon lot of oil much much not dry not good need in oven not fry.

Service was wonderful. The food was great.

There’s no doubt that Aspendos offers fabulous food, great prices, and a pleasant ambiance. However, all of this is overshadowed by a server named Robert, who is extremely rude and impatient. He speaks to customers as if we’re a burden that he needs to get rid of. When my colleague asked for a vegetarian recommendation, Robert responded rudely, saying, “I can’t recommend one, I like them all!” Unfortunately for him, we weren’t ordering for his preference, and it’s perfectly normal for a customer to ask for a recommendation. His attitude really needs improvement, and we’ve decided not to visit the restaurant again. My suggestion is to speak with the other servers and avoid Robert.

Beautiful food and wonderful staff, so attentive and polite. The owner, Mustafa, is especially generous, friendly, and welcoming. The mezze platter and seafood is what we always get and it has always impressed us!

And I have much to compare as I have visited Turkey many times. Therefore, yes, I can say that the food was even better than în some places in Turkey. Fast service despite the fact that the place was very busy. I barely found a small table for me. That says a lot. Friendly staff. I had the mix grill platter. That was a lot for a person and it was delicious. Picture attached. I suggest to book in advance as this restaurant is packed.

Best dinner I had in all my trip around Scotland. So delicious, everything so well prepared. Lovely and comfortable atmosphere. Fast service. Tried Turkish before but THIS WAS SOME OTHER LEVEL. You need to try it. The guide from our tour recommended it and I was so grateful after I tried it.

I would recommend this restaurant, the atmosphere is great, the traditional cuisine is delicious, I visited with my daughter, she was impressed, the fillet chicken , I was very surprised by the taste of the dessert. Thank you, we will definitely come back

Do not go. The boss/manager needs need to be trained how to provide good service. Extremely rude.

The owner's attitude was incredibly rude and dismissive, making the experience uncomfortable and uninviting. I won't be returning after such poor customer service.

Really terrible owner. He was awful - wears glasses and an elderly gentleman. Do not go to them!

Good food, comfortable location, quick service.

This place was recommended to me. Welcome was good, starter of hummus was lovely but the Turkish bread was mostly too hard, main dishes were excellent then we were forgotten about, ☺️ had to ask for dessert of which there was choice !!! Of one! , we asked for coffee which never arrived. Will give a miss next time in Inverness.

An amazing and unexpected find. The food was delicious and authentic.

Basic courtesy was missing with this people , food was average ! They were interested in getting next customer with bigger drink and food order and chose to disregard customer sitting in front of them ! It was a pathetic experience in short !!

Wonderful! I have been here with a group of 10 people! On Thursday evening spontaneous- incredible friendly owner Mustafa served delicious food for us. Beautiful atmosphere- music - Excellent food! Excellent service! Absolutely recommended!

It is compulsory to order meals, and each person must take a main course. The vegetables are salty, a lot of oil, and the quantity is small. I don’t recommend it.

Avoid if you have a baby as they are not very child friendly or if you want to split the bill ! We came with our toddler and she wasn’t welcome. We were asked to keep the pram outside to make space in the restaurant (although we were the only customer present at the time in that area) and we could tell the owner wasn’t happy at all with the little one. Food was okay but we were surprised as we were not allowed to split the bill at the end because the owner has to pay “fees” and it’s not convenient for him… ok well it wasn’t convenient for us either.

Excellent food good value. If you can't go to Turkey then going to Aspendos is next best thing!

Food was just fine but definitely overpriced. We were not offered their “special” menu while everyone else in the restaurant was being offered. We were the only two brown people (women) in the restaurant and it soon became quite evident that we were being treated differently than other patrons in the restaurant. Once we put our order we were barely noticed and had to check on our order ourselves.It was quite a disappointing experience. Looking at other reviews here, it is quite clear that this is not the first time this restaurant has been called out for this behavior. It’s a shame this still happens in 2024!!

Food was oily and not particularly tasty given the price. They seem to have a racist seating policy - anyone non-white was placed at the back of the restaurant away from the windows to the street. Maybe a coincidence but seemed strange that 3 tables of Asians (who arrived separately) were all seated at the rear of the restaurant. While white couples and families were placed at the front.

This Turkish restaurant in Inverness is top-notch! Five stars for delicious, authentic dishes and excellent service. The variety and quality truly set them apart. Highly recommend!

Very good and excellent welcome

This was so good, as an American I wish I could find something like this in the states. The service was excellent the starters, the main course. Everything. I can’t thank Aspendos enough for this amazing experience, so nicely decorated and everyone ended up dancing to songs. I cannot wait to come back here next time I visit.

Delicious food, we had grilled chicken , falafel, tarator and Turkish bread. Really satisfying dinner, served with a smile. Would definitely eat here again.

Delicious food, especially the falafel which was the best we've had in a long time. The group menu was perfect for 5 people and it was all so tasty. The manager did complain loudly about guests who didn't like their food which was an odd experience for those dining.

The decoration of the restaurant is pretty good and the food is good, but I got a little tired at the end of the meal and the portions are huge.

As Chinese, my friends (two adult men) and I don't seem to feel unfairly treated, maybe they have changed, or maybe they can't identify where you are from. Especially, I don 't think they know the big difference between China, Japan, and Korea.)

Amazing food, nice atmosphere and super friendly waiter! One of the best turkish food we’ve had (and we are from Berlin…) !! Deserts were delicious too (Baklava and fresh Kunefe)!

Outstanding service and obvious pride in food preparation and presentation.

I do not recommend this place. Food is expensive and poor customer service.I was given beef sausage on a platter of chicken. The owner confirmed that the red meat was actually beef when I approached him about it after the server had told me it was chicken. I mentioned him that for religious reasons I was unable to eat beef but ignored me and insisted that I pay for the dish, which I hardly ate, and refused to give me a replacement.

We ate off the 'special offer' menu and enjoyed a very good shared meze starter, followed by a chicken sis (shish) and a lamb casserole (apologies for not remembering the correct name of the dish). The service was attentive and friendly. We were near the kitchen and at times there was a little Mediterranean 'exuberance' in the exchanges as larger tables were being served, but not a problem in the scheme of things. If you get the option to try some of the Turkish wine then do, it's superb and compliments the wonderful food nicely.

One of the best Turkish meals I’ve ever had, and one of the best meals in Scotland overall. Visited with my family, every dish was delicious, fresh, and prepared with care. Great team who clearly took pride in what they do.

Everyone working at this restaurant clearly takes pride in their craft. The food was amazing, everything was fresh and seasoned well. I got the vegetarian mezze and my cousin really enjoyed the salmon. The service was great - polite, friendly and efficient (a special shout out to Mauro). The dining room is tastefully decorated. All around pleasant experience.

Had dinner here tonight. We were starving after a long journey and needed something delicious and filling. This delivered on both fronts- fantastic food coupled with great service. Highly recommended.

Rushed here on a night past 9 pm in hope to grab a dinner before shops closed. The team was very helpful and assisted to take the order before the kitchen was closed. We had a very nice Lamb shank. The team was very accommodating. The place was very nice and clean. Food was nice and warm and well marinated. We enjoyed dinner. Highly recommend this place if you are around.

A lovely restaurant with great food and service. 4 of us went for lunch recently and ordered from the set lunch menu for £27.99pp which we all felt was great value. All of the food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!

9 of us went here for a dinner, service was fantastic the guy serving us was brilliant, he was really good crack. The food Ia outstanding we got to share so many starters and then choose a main for only 27.95 each, huge portions and all cooked so fresh. When we were leaving the gentleman that dealt with us on the night gave us a bottle of wine to enjoy, to say thank you. Highly recommend this place they really value their customers. Very tasty food we will all be back. Thank you again

Gorgeous atmosphere as soon as you enter the door, very welcoming staff and the decor is stunning, the place is well decorated in theme. The staff and service were second to none and the food was gorgeous with a great value. I hope to see this place get more busy with time as it would be well deserved!

Na dagen Schotse cuisine was het eten bij Aspendos een welkome verrassing. Heerlijke frisse Turkse keuken, goede porties, alle gerechten zorgvuldig bereid, kruidig en precies goed. Service was super, de gastheer bediende alleen het hele restaurant, maar gaf iedereen voldoende aandacht. Wat heeft die man hard gewerkt! Wij vonden het echt super!

The service is nasty, the staff was disrespectful and needs a course in hospitality. Left the restaurant halfway due to the rude staff and bad service. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Expensive, though the food was nice and portions were good. The service from the manager however was not good. Firstly he attempted to pressure the table into ordering more food when we were wanting to share (and if this was within the busy season, based on other reviews I'm sure he would have asked us to leave). Secondly he doubled down on this by saying that it's not possible to order more food after (I have never heard of this in any restaurant). Thirdly he was condescending when asking questions about the menu items.

Brilliant food. Great atmosphere. Book in advance. For large groups ask the owner to just give you a selection, you will not be disappointed.

Extremely welcoming staff and quick service - there were five of us and we didn't wait longer than 10 minutes for our meals. Everything was perfectly prepared and wonderfully flavourful. There is quiet music and tasteful decor, overall a 5/5 experience.

Stopped here after every restaurant’s kitchen in town was closed past 9pm. Our server was very friendly and helped us with the pronunciation of the dishes. The food was absolutely delicious. We had hummus, garlic dip, and minced lamb. Would highly recommend!

Great spot if you need a break from local fare

First time visiting here, recommend by friends. Its beautiful food, nicely presented and service was very polite and friendly. The sharing platter was perfect for six of us. Definitely will be back again.
