IV10 Cafe Bar Deli in Highland

A total gem of a restaurant….so lucky to have it on our doorstep. Food is incredible….the Asian beef is butter soft and the wide selection of small plates ensure there is something for everyone. Staff are very attentive and make it feel like a special occasion every time. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Our first visit while staying on the Black Isle, we called in for a coffee and cake. The bill was £23.60 for two drinks and chocolate brownies. The quality was good as expected, but £8.50 each for a brownie was excessive. Also the drinks were served first and then after we finished them the brownies arrived. It would have been nice to have them served together but the service coordination seemed at odds. Would not recommend for casual afternoon tea.

Superb address for tea time... in this case a cappuccino and a slice of carrot cake, a delight!

We've been here several times and always enjoyed the meal! Emma, the owner, always looks after the customers and makes sure everything is going well. It has a lovely atmosphere and the service is always fast and smooth. And the food is always delicious!

We arrived when the kitchen was closed but they offered us other equally delicious alternatives. The attention of the girl who attended us was excellent, worrying at all times about what she could prepare us, she also detected that we were Spanish and changed to our language.

Lovely spot for a meal or sweet treats. Good service and great interior. Wonderful cocktails and vegetarian choices.

A place for those who eat little but undoubtedly high-end products. A BoBo style. I chose a Marguarita pizza. I had mini pizza with almost no toppings and a taste of burnt dough. My partner's pie was good. Beers in cans. Good cakes but nothing more. All for a completely exaggerated total. They are nice but 1h30 to eat so little... In short, to be avoided but there is little competition in the area.

Good food, nice atmosphere, everything very modern. Something for every taste! There is also a large selection of dishes of different sizes depending on your hunger. Very courteous service.

Tucked away in the sleepy Black Isle coastal village of Fortrose IV10 is an unexpected pleasure. Small from the outside it’s deceptively large and once you open the door it’s a feast for the eyes, nose and mouth. So many amazing dishes and they truly tantalise the tastebuds. Most locally sourced, all fresh and seasonal. The service was brilliant the team obviously passionate and took time to explain, chat and make you feel so welcomed. There was food for every palate and every dish was both generous, flavourful and beautifully presented. I cannot recommend IV10 highly enough, go visit. It’s sublime! Oh and they even have a deli. What’s not to love.

We had a fantastic lunch at IV10 today with our children and friends. The food was exceptional, full of flavour, filling and varied. We shared most of the vegetarian dishes so tried a range of things- my favourites were the Asian aubergine, the corn ribs and the chocolate brownie. The place was lovely with sound dampening overhead so we could hear each other, which I appreciated. All the staff were super helpful and friendly. I will definitely come back.

Gorgeous food and cafe. Everything in the menu was delicious. I definitely recommend the tenderstem and asparagus sourdough with goat curd and hot honey! Parking down the street is available.

A lovely restaurant with great food and friendly staff. It was a shame we left going there until the last day of our trip. The food was amazing - you need to try the BBQ Korean Steak! They also have the deli counter to take away some nice nibbles :).

Fabulous place for either a hot snack, padron peppers were perfect, plus delicious cake and coffee!

So grateful for the recommendation we got for IV10. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The food was so tasty and perfectly cooked and presented. Would recommend to anyone who can get to Fortress, book to save disappointment.

Our party of four were so happy we found this little gem. Staff were friendly and efficient. The dishes were all excellent, especially the ploughman's platter, the aubergine and the charred potatoes. Our deserts were wonderful. The cakes were so light and delicious. This is not an inexpensive place but we thought it was great value. We're still talking about it a day later.

The staff can't do enough to make your meal and visit a fantastic experience.

Such an eclectic, varied menu (that changes frequently) and all of it is incredible. Something for absolutely everyone. Also a special mention to the staff who are a delight.

Visited IV10 this afternoon for a quick coffee with my son - not our first visit but felt compelled to write a review after having such a nice experience (& the most perfect flat white in the most gorgeous stoneware mug!). We immediately felt welcomed and relaxed, and we were looked after with care from start to finish. It was only after we left that I realised we must have arrived just before closing - but we weren't made to feel rushed at all. Thank you for giving us such a lovely energy boost in our day, we really appreciated it.

Another excellent meal at IV10, my favourite place locally for a genuinely relaxed lunch. Highlights this time included corn ribs with miso butter and wasabi salt, and the saffron-poached pear with Cashel Blue, but all great. Service as efficient and friendly as ever.

Utterly fabulous evening meal here. Service absolutely exemplary. Atmosphere casual, quirky, relaxed and styleeee. And the food - just fantastic. The sharing plates idea 😍 We had the houmous with lamb, sumac chicken and whipped feta - just delicious. And the dessert of saffron pear with blue cheese was to die for. Cannot recommend IV10 highly enough. Stylish, sophisticated yet casual dining done REALLY well.

Very attentive and considerate staff, food portions just right. So tasty no need for extra seasoning, Korean BBQ steak a must try.

We were lucky enough to get a reservation in the wee bothy outside with our dog. Absolutely made our wedding anniversary so special. Amazing food. We recommend the veggie options. Aubergine dish was spectacular, go for the masala crushed potatoes, goats cheese salad was so yummy and the deserts were all to die for. This was probably one of the best meals we’ve had in Scotland. Innovative and exciting menu, brilliantly executed and everything we had was amazing. Excellent wine list and draft beers. Service was fabulous and there was a lovely atmosphere. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly - what a find!

Coffee was great food a bit expensive compared to other coffee shops in UK. Still service was excellent but need to remember service is key to longevity.

Came here for the first time this morning and had the small cheese board, flat bread and houmous and the fresh orange juice. And it was all absolutely delicious. You can tell that everything has been done with love and it totally shows!! I didn't catch the kind ladies name who helped us pick a bottle of wine to take home but her customer service was outstanding and I would come back not just for the incredible food but just to see her again! Thank you so much!

I love this cafe! It has the perfect atmosphere for whatever you're looking for. At family evening meals, the pizzas have been fan-favourites highlights, though I love sharing a bunch of the thoughtful, local smaller dishes even more! The range of options is excellent, and it's clear the owners care about their dishes, and staying authentic to the ingredients that the local area has to offer through the seasons. I would highly recommend any of their handcrafted hot drinks: the vanilla lattes I tried were smooth and perfectly sweet; the hot chocolate was bittersweet and comforting; in midwinter, their hot apple juice and rum mix is just perfectly warming. Their seasonal sweet-treats are also lovely, especially the rhubarb and raspberry almond crumble in the spring. They serve it with Greek yogurt which I was sceptical about - but I've learned my lesson to trust the chefs more than myself. For anyone going for lunch, you should know that they print the menus every day exactly at 12pm, so if you're in a rush to order and eat, let any one of the attentive staff know that you'd like the menu asap. That said, I would say it only added to my experience to know that they literally update the menu every day (I went two days in a row for lunch). The food is great, but it's the added pleasure of kind, happy staff that make it. Every time I've been, I have overheard the owner and waiting staff alike greeting and conversing with the locals and regulars. It adds a genuine village charm to what is otherwise a very modern, lively business!

Hugely impressive range and quality of food on offer - there are plenty of much larger towns in Scotland without anything as carefully curated as this. Head chef was kind enough to take time out of a busy lunch service to talk through allergens directly, and even pop back out later to check we were enjoying our meal, which is always a nice touch. Obviously a talented team who care about what they're putting out.

My wife and i stopped here for lunch whilst exploring the black isle. It was superb. Fantastic menu with a great variety. We had a number of sharing plates which are not too small. It was so good we went back the next day for lunch. All the food we tried was excellent but if you like pizza would strongly recommend trying one, wow amazing.

We haven't tasted food as flavoursome and interesting as this in many years. It was so good we went back the next day and also brought home some tasty treats from the deli.You can share as tapas or keep a whole portion to yourself. I highly recommend the padron peppers with sticky tamarind sauce,the pork belly and blade steak, also the coffee walnut cake was delicious too, and a great range of beers and wine plus locally sourced coffee.Do not pass without going in as the team are amazing too.

Fantastic! Attentive, friendly service- with plenty of laughter- and innovative food. We love the sharing plates, starters and inventive sides like the chargrilled whole cabbage heart with marmite tahini.. who'd've thought! Mains are delicious... we tried tender succulent buttermilk chicken, hake and pork. We didn't have room for dessert this time but have had the homemade brownies and rhubarb parfait on other occasions. A reasonably-priced restaurant that's really not to be missed...just a couple of minutes from Chanonry Point - you might not see the dolphins but you will have a meal to remember- thanks Emma, and all the team!

Honestly the most exciting food in the highlands. There is always something amazing and different on the menu. I am so grateful to have such a gem on the Black Isle. Plus the service and wine list are bar none. You guys are amazing.

This was recommended by my son and he was spot on, great service, delicious food and a great wee deli all rolled into one superb night out. We had a selection of 5 dishes plus a pizza, (who knew cauli cheese with pancetta could be great on a pizza), which was enough food for 4 hungry adults. About a 25 min trip from Inverness city centre but do yourself a favour and go.

My mother comes here with all her visitors. This day was with me. We had found it together, today was my third visit. The menu changes in small ways but always enticing. We ordered several dishes. The only negative was our crispy prawns, were not crispy, the batter around them was crispy. This was mentioned to the waitress, moments later the manager came out to say they would update the menu to make it clearer. Our favourite dish this day was the aubergine. We love this restaurant.

One of my favourite restaurants to eat in the Highlands. The food is imaginative and different and the staff are always friendly. Great for lunch or dinner. Lovely delicatessen too with a great range of meats and cheeses and local produce too. I love this place. I just wish I lived in Fortrose to visit more.

Not a bar, nor deli, nor cafe shop. This is an amazing restaurant. Quality ingredients produce varied dishes filled with fresh flavor. Plates are intended to share. We were 4 adults and ordered 8 dishes. A week in the UK and thus far this is without doubt the best meal I’ve had in the UK! Suitable for more adventurous foodie types. Great for veggies too. But they also have good pizza.

We had a fantastic lunch at IV10 the , the menu is full of so much to choose from but the staff helped us and were excellent. The food was excellent and I would recommend it to everyone I cannot wait until we go again .

A last minute decision to have lunch in Fortrose saw us in IV10. Luck was on our side, a great restaurant, lovely staff and a menu which was amazing.

Absolutely magnificent place. Staff were so so friendly and helpful (even in the face of our baby throwing up all over himself). Incredible food. Best cabbage I’ve ever had (wood roasted, with marmite tahini and a crumb). Amazing Korean BBQ short rib. Lovely salad. A must visit.

We eat here whenever we are in this area. Probably my favourite food place. Their delicious food is always utterly rammed with flavour. We have never had a bad experience here, it is consistently excellent. We tend to have a few "mains" and share. It's that kind of place - you can eat in a "tapas" kind of way. Edited: been eating here for 3 years now and never a bad experience- the last time however - yesterday - probably the best yet. How can you get better? I don't know but I simply didn't want the meal to end it was that good and I also took some of the Hummus away as a takeaway and had it for breakfast the next morning with toast. Simply delicious!! Just stopped in here for a coffee and cake. Dogs not allowed inside but seating outside. Really good coffee and chocolate but small portions of ordinary cake. Expensive. Staff friendly.

Fantastic lunch! Spotted IV10 while out on a motorcycle run earlier this year and thought it looked like a worthwhile stop sometime in the future. At a loose end we decided to take a drive over to the Black Isle for a spot of lunch today. Stupidly, we never booked in advance and it looked at first like we'd have to wait for a table. Luckily though one became free as we asked. The staff were all very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. Amazingly varied menu which made it hard to choose from. Everything that we ordered was beautifully presented and very tasty. Finished off with a cracking flat white. You can have everything from coffee and cake to full sit down menus and they serve alcohol too. Definitely a go to place if you are in the area.

We visited this place with a dog. It was not a problem at all, they have cute little extra garden house outside with a heater. Staff was helpful and pleasant. We liked the food a lot, we tried pizza with chorizo, charred potatoes and hummus. Everything was really delicious and we were super happy

It is a very long time since I have been so excited about a meal. The food was delicious, tasted fresh and the combination of flavours was just inspired. The plates are much larger than tapas and what you can't finish they very kindly pack up for you to take home. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Amazing food throughout the whole menu! Superb service from lovely humans. Inventive and refreshing while cleverly utilizing the seasonal ingredients. Dishes include: corn ribs, lamp and hummus, pumpkin seed pesto red onion pizza, blue maize aubergine, chorizo, potatoes with salsa Verde. Soft drink was excellent: blackcurrant and basil. Not pictured excellent cakes: bram-brac and carrot cake.

Food and service was very good. If I am bring very picky, I would have liked some rock salt on the padron peppers and the coulis with the pannacotta could have been a little sweeter to offset the slightly bitter blackcurrants.

Love what the owners of IV10 have done with this place. I've eaten here previously under different incarnations (The Tea Cosy in 1990s and then more recently Eilean Dubh). Although the bones of the building are the same, everything else about IV10 is a radical departure from its past lives. Food is excellent with loads of tapas style small plate options, along with a great cheese and charcuterie boards..also honourable mentions for the chilli chips, and lemon tart! The decor is smart and modern, and the staff are friendly and clearly happy in their work I'll definitely be back sooner rather than later.
