Very expensive drinks (£13 for my glass of wine!) - which has always been the case here but what was different this time was the service. Despite only turning up at 8.30pm, they called last orders at 9.30 and continued to make it very clear we weren't welcome any longer blowing out candles and very noisily clearing everything away around us. Despite raising this with the staff there were no apologies just pushed it back to us we should have checked their website to know it shut at 10pm. I definitely won't be returning there are much nicer and friendlier pubs in the area with nice drinks at a reasonable price. Such a shame, this pub should be busy on a weeknight but I'm not surprised it's not with the service and cost.

Very hard to rate accurately as the restaurant booking made in August didn't happen. No one contacted me to say the restaurant closed at 7pm (the time of our booking). This is the second time it has happened. There seems to be no link between the booking system and customer service. Not impressed.

I live in S. Wales but travel to the Kings Lynn area to stay with family once or twice a year. I like this pub very much because of it's lovely location, smart interior and a good choice of ale's. However I notice in some reviews people complain about the surliness of the landlord and landlady, well funny thing but I found this to be the case as well, a right pair of misery guts they are, but I do not care about this in the slightest degree as long as they do not have a go at me directly. So we will continue to leave our women in Downham to shop and call in for a few pint's. Oh I'm 74 now so I can get a bit crotchety myself... x

Mare Street Market at Coal Drop Yard. What a flipping gorgeous place! Lovely food, very lovely, chatty staff and excellent service! Even more - what a great location! I love the building and the whole model of collaboration between the food offer and the lovely neighbouring shops (plants, lighting etc). Everything about this place is modelling good practice. The staff are clearly proud of this venue - and rightly so! A gem!

The Living Room is located a 2 minutes' walk from Piccadilly station on a quiet street full of terraces that fill up with neighbors when the weather's good. The music is great and the prices are about average for beer, wine and cocktails. The staff is always very friendly and everyone is welcome!

Wow, I’m so happy with visiting this place , I felt so welcomed in this place , by the two people workings here ( Dennis and Dana) , they offer me a full menu of the cocktails and beers available and with the views of St Paul’s Cathedral, I couldn’t be happier with their services. I would definitely be coming back to this place.

We visited for 'old times sake' as its in a lovely location but were disappointed with the quality of the food. The beef and malbec pie was gravy with fatty bits - no pieces of meat. The green beans and peas were not cooked through. The ladies toilet was in need of some care - there are 4 - one had a loose seat and one had the seat propped up on a shelf behind the toilet. The hand drier wasn't working and there were no paper towels to use. This was reported to the staff. who were very pleasant and friendly.

I strongly recommend you don't go for the fishcake lunch. We were presented with just one measly fishcake with a sprig of parsley for £15 !! It was certainly nothing special and terrible value for money! -----------------------------------------------
