Great small restaurant with an interesting lunch menu. The food is described fined for sharing and 2 or 3 plates are recommended. I had Danish frikkedellar, my husband had pork belly. Both beautifully presented small lunch portions. The coffee was good, the service unobtrusive and the views from the outside terrace are also good. Not fast food, but stunnngly good food. Also. A good stop for coffee and cake, or Fika.

What a sunday lunch, fixed price for three courses generous courses plus a homemade bread appetiser with honey butter and marmite butter - delicious. Choice of three starters, three main courses and three desserts. The mains came with 5 vegetables and a yorkshire. The portions were amble so in the end ended up with extras as a takeaway. Service was attentive.

This was our second long awaited visit - last time it was to celebrate the anniversary of our first date - this time both our birthdays. I mention this because we were greeted with a card each and an additional surprise at the end. The whole experience is an absolute joy, the atmosphere, service and wonderful food. Some of the courses challenged my palate - in a very positive way. The attention to detail and the flavours are outstanding. This makes it great value for money - not cheap but very good value. Deservedly fully booked

I was treated to a birthday lunch here. We chose from the three course set menu. The main course [we had cod with seafood and beans] was quite filling but the other two courses were smaller. The desserts were sticky toffee or chocolate or cheese. There was a vegetarian option in each course. The food was all delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were pleasant and professional. My husband has a food intolerance and the menu was modified for him. I throughly enjoyed my birthday lunch.

Wish we'd read ths recent reviews and saved our money. We were recommended this place and the photos on the website were impressive. Also, it's in the Michelin Guide. But that was all based on the previous restaurant, not the current one. Same name, but different management. They still charge 'fine dining' prices but the meal was very average. A rather strange and oily 'amuse bouche' consisted of a cheese and bacon doughnut. My starter was 3 teeny sardines awash in oil plus a teeny bit of focaccia. No discernible seasoning. Main was a slab of trout (which was nice, but no different from what we would cook at home) plus four little florets of cauliflower which had been 'charred', and two teaspoons of puree smeared on the plate. All very dry and very basic seasoning. I had asked for some green veg on the side, and although the waitress smiled and nodded I wasn't convinced she understood. (The green veg never came). She seemed confused about the wines so we had to point at the one we wanted on the menu. My husband's beef was overly salty and instead of the 'fondant potato' he got a blob of mash. Two courses for £45 was little short of a ripoff. Even the two pot plants were dead in that sad conservatory. And no, I didn't complain, to save my husband's embarrassment, and in an effort to salvage the evening we just laughed (and wrote) it off.

We'd been wanting to try the Japanese night for a while and finally had a night that we could go so we were looking forward to it. There were about 5 other tables of couples when we arrived. We were all crammed in to one end of the fairly large seating area, so we had to get to know our neighbours fairly quickly. We went for 3 courses thinking we could add the dessert if we had room. The sushi was dry and average. My starter was the gyoza, which turned out to be tuna gyoza. I was expecting a little more than tinned tuna in a dumpling, but that's what I got. My partner had the tempura prawn which were great - hot and crispy. Those 2 courses were served efficiently, but we had to wait about 25 minutes for the main to arrive. Mine was the white miso salmon. Again, I was expecting a little more than just a piece of salmon on plain rice. It was served with about 5 edamame beans and a spoonful of kimchi, but that was it. My partner had the fillet steak and opted for noodles. He offered me a piece of steak to try, but it was a small portion, so I didn't accept the offer. We did have room for dessert, but we decided against it. A bill of £70 was enough. I'm afraid we won't be going back and we won't be recommending it. I have to say that the two waitresses were brilliant though. Very sweet girls.

Lovely people producing high quality meats. It’s difficult to pick a favourite as everything we bought here was delicious. Really well flavoured salamis, prosciutto and coppa and definitely try the black bacon cured in molasses for a really top notch breakfast. Also stocks a small range of good, mostly local preserves, cheeses and eggs.

We got married here 13 years ago and had fantastic food and service then but for some unknown reason we have never returned-until tonight. It was hubby’s 70th birthday and so as we had an appointment later in Telford we decided to revisit Butlers at the Park House Hotel on a Monday evening in July. Despite previous reviews about slow service, we found the staff extremely attentive and we weren’t kept waiting huge amounts of time for any courses. The food was all extremely nice, well cooked, tasty and very reasonably priced in today’s economic climate. It appears many restaurants now have limited opening times during early week but as a hotel Butlers is still open every evening. The restaurant itself appears to have been refurbished recently and has a contemporary feel to it which is very pleasant and all furniture appears very new. It was lovely to revisit this hotel/restaurant which holds many precious memories and a delight to see that the food and service is still as good as we remember. We definitely won’t wait another 13 years to revisit.
