Disappointing meal after a very long wait. Wed be happy to wait if the good was as good as anticipated. I had the king prawn tagliatelle, which was supposed to come in a creamy white wine sauce with parsley and chilli. Although the prawns were good, there was no sauce to speak of, just buttery pasta with v few chilli flakes and no flavour. I fed this back politely to the waitress who spoke to the chef/owner and came back and said he put butter in the pasta! Yes, he did, but that was about all. Meanwhile my partner had "tempura" battered prawns with scallops, salad and chips. The batter was stodgy and undercooked and the salad really under par for a £20 meal. He also fed back politely to the waitress and there was no attempt to offer a discount or redress our disappointment in any way. All in all it was underwhelming and we've had better meals with standard pub grub. Reading the other low star reviews here, we're not impressed with the lack of customer service in the replies. The waiting staff were polite enough. The chef could have come down to hear our feedback in person

Not has good as some of the reviews. We tried it on the best reviews but the sausages was sub standard the eggs was still runny with gooey. And the coffee tasted burnt would not waste your money and it was expensive

We had the lunch special. It was the Chicken Breast with white wine sauce also served potatoes and vegetables. The chicken breast was cooked to perfection not dry just right and tender. Potatoes had a nice flavour. A little gem in the corner the waitress who served us was really attentive and served us well. Will recommend this place.

We'd been wanting to try the Japanese night for a while and finally had a night that we could go so we were looking forward to it. There were about 5 other tables of couples when we arrived. We were all crammed in to one end of the fairly large seating area, so we had to get to know our neighbours fairly quickly. We went for 3 courses thinking we could add the dessert if we had room. The sushi was dry and average. My starter was the gyoza, which turned out to be tuna gyoza. I was expecting a little more than tinned tuna in a dumpling, but that's what I got. My partner had the tempura prawn which were great - hot and crispy. Those 2 courses were served efficiently, but we had to wait about 25 minutes for the main to arrive. Mine was the white miso salmon. Again, I was expecting a little more than just a piece of salmon on plain rice. It was served with about 5 edamame beans and a spoonful of kimchi, but that was it. My partner had the fillet steak and opted for noodles. He offered me a piece of steak to try, but it was a small portion, so I didn't accept the offer. We did have room for dessert, but we decided against it. A bill of £70 was enough. I'm afraid we won't be going back and we won't be recommending it. I have to say that the two waitresses were brilliant though. Very sweet girls.

This is a very under rated restaurant! We’ve been many times now and have never had a bad meal or service. Friday fish nights are excellent but so are the other days. The food is amazing and great value. Tonight we had beef carpaccio as a stater each, and medley of fish and duck. Superb! Well done!

We had two wonderful meals at The Corner House. We enjoyed the Fish Feast enormously. The tempura prawns were delicate and crispy. The scallops and black pudding were tasty. We each chose 3 different fish for our mains. Beautifully cooked served with enhancing sauces. The next day we returned for an equally enjoyable Japanese meal. The staff were helpful and had just the right level of interaction. All in all we couldn't fault this establishment. Food was memorable, atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the service was delightful. Thank you!

Came across this place during a weekend stay in Ludlow and noticed that on Saturday nights they serve a fixed-price Japanese menu. Sushi, followed by several choices of starter and main, pus an optional dessert. And Japanese drinks such as Sake also available. Honestly, the best Japanese food we have had outside of Japan itself Fist class and highly recommended.

Wonderful food, freshly cooked and excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and helpful staff. The menu had a great choice with locally sourced ingredients. It was the culinary highlight of our short break in Shropshire.

I went to The Corner House last night with my partner who is a chef and can be quite critical. Our meal was delicious! The best we have had in quite some time. We had Fishcake topped with poached egg, and Scallops with black pudding for starters followed by Filet steak and the Fish medley. We were served by a charming and efficient young lady, nothing was too much trouble for her. The chef is a talented, adventurous young man and we wish him all the very best for the future.

We have been several times recently and am impressed with the quality of food. We’ve been twice for the Friday Fish and today for a duck and pork tenderloin. Great quality, reasonably priced and service good.

Three of us visited here before heading out over Brown Clee. It was just what we needed, only three mile from out start point. The Breakfast was brilliant, filled us up for the day ahead. Friendly staff, clean facilities highly recommended if visiting the area.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch. It's a new menu with plenty of choice. Ffion was very friendly. I would recommend the food. Plenty of parking space now they have two carparks, and a play area for children

We had met up with our daughter and her family and decided to go for something to eat before we went our separate ways. Having never been to The Royal Oak before and as it was a Monday night we had their special Monday night menu. The food was all well cooked and hot, the portion sizes were very generous and tasty and very good value for the money. I definitely recommend it.
