Highwayman in Shropshire

Tyler does a great job of making everyone feel welcome, he promotes everything in a really professional way and is really nice to the rest of his team, I go often to play darts and board games with my friends. I also go for a family meal with my 16 month dog and he is just great for both occasions.

This place is next door to mtly aunts care home. She has dementia but she absolutely raves about this pub - from the food to the accommodations! I havent been there in person as i live in canada, but hearing her be so happy and excited tells me that its great. Thanks to all the team for giving her good memories.

Jess was absolutely amazing she is an asset to the company. Brought my dog a water bowl she deserves a pay rise.

Great place to meet up with friends, really good menu choices and reasonable prices, good selection of drinks. Warm and comfortable environment, staff are really friendly too. Well worth a visit, I will be going back soon..

Jess was very welcoming as we came in, and showed us to our table. A party of 16 had just ordered, so she advised us of a longer cooking time than usual before we ordered. As we were in no rush, that was fine, and we appreciate her transparency. The food was worth waiting for.

My friend & I were shown to our table by a very friendly member of staff. The menu was excellent,plenty to choose from. Ordering at the bar was very straightforward,no queue even though the pub was busy. The food arrived within 10minutes & was excellent & piping hot. We followed this with coffee which was good quality & also nice & hot. Prices were very reasonable. A very pleasant experience overall.

Last time we came Sunday lunch and service was just ok. We have been going here every year for the last 18 years as it was the first place we dined. We have noticed over the last few years it's gone down hill, but yesterday's experience was definitely the worst, upon arrival we found seats, the table had dishes on it which I moved after 20 minutes.starters where ok but took 45 minutes, the mains where rubbish. My wife's food was cold and my burger was poor. After 18 years of regular visits I can say it was my last pound spent there. On another point last time the glasses were blamed for my awful pint but the same happened again yesterday. It's a shame but I will never go back.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch. It's a new menu with plenty of choice. Ffion was very friendly. I would recommend the food. Plenty of parking space now they have two carparks, and a play area for children

Had a very warm welcome as always. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. The gluten free ultimate spicy burger was mouthwatering and I could not fault the service we recieved from Tyler. We sat in the doggy section and even our pup felt spoilt by the service

Rather unimpressed. The outside of the place is very shabby. Rotten wood everywhere. The meat and yorkshires on the carvery were dried out. The soup came in the tiniest bowl I have ever seen. In my opinion I thought it was a bit overpriced. Staff were brilliant though. Get rid of the faded, artificial flowers in the garden. Tacky.

I loved my mixed grill, steak was divine I recommend it cooked rare Chicken was amazing. And Caroline was the cherry on top of our wonderfully night out.

Came to The Highwayman to celebrate passing my driving test with my partner, we were greeted at the door by the wonderful Jess, she was very bubbly and happy to help at any point, it was also nice that she came over to check if our food was ok for us and to see if we needed anything.

Came to The Highwayman for a celebratory meal. Food was excellent, was served quickly and efficiently, and staff were polite. Menu had a great variety of dishes and there seemed to be specials on every night.

Excellent food, Sunday lunch, steak and Ale pie lovely. Staff nice and friendly. Place is light and airy with a number of different seating areas. Dogs welcome and plenty of parking.

First time visitors at The Highwayman as we were staying in Oswestry. Lovely relaxed pub restaurant with a reasonable Vegetarian menu and what we chose was tasty, well cooked and good portions. The staff were relaxed and polite and we would definitely visit again when in the area.

All staff always friendly and welcoming. Good food great service, comfortable, clean and modern what’s not to like.

Came for my sister's birthday, Caroline made sure it was special. Going the extra step to make it perfect.

Came to the pub today and Tyler looked after all of us. We had breakfast it was all cooked to perfection and I had the ultimate breakfast and beat it. 10/10 would recommend to anyone

The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the food is good and the portions a good size.... the menu is 'typical' pub. The pub itself is what it is, 1970s building near a large estate, lacks any soul or character but the staff make up for that 😉

Ffion, Harry, Martyn, Jed, and Tyler create a lovely atmosphere perfect for eating, drinking, doing work or socialising. Generally making the pub a lovely space to be in with a homey, family vibe (also they have amazing doughballs so its a double win really)🥰

Fantastic service from start to finish

Order arrived with items missing, southern fried chicken burger overcooked and was really dry and hard. The scampi was soggy and undercooked thd only thing that was nicd was the chips and onion rings very disappointed with the meal, wouldn't go again.

It was very busy on the night with the staff working hard. The service was prompt and in particular Caroline was most pleasant snd professional. Given how busy it was we did not have to wait too long for our food which we enjoyed. Well done. Gareth

We were here with our drama group and the service from Martyn and team was wonderful. Food was great and everyone enjoyed the evening.

I am writing this review on a staff member at the Highwayman in Oswestry as my phone has refused to work there. I eat at the highwayman approx 3 days a week. The staff and food is brilliant. Caroline at the highwayman is an absolute asset to the company, she is incredibly efficient and so so naturally pleasant. We will keep coming here as we can guarantee a pleasant experience with lovely staff there. Well done to them all especially caroline

Family live in Oswestry and live nearby to the Highwayman so convenient when we visit. We have been a few times and Sunday being the most recent. The staff were friendly, efficient and love that they are dog friendly throughout. Ordered at the bar and Caroline was lovely, very helpful and clear regarding menu choices. The food was served very promptly and was hot and very tasty. We were checked throughout the meal ensuring that the meal was up to standard. I would definitely recommend eating at the highwayman

We have been to The Highway Man, Oswestry several times. Martin is always pleasant and polite. Food - we all had pizza, which are freshly made on site and very good. Prices reasonable. There is a good selection of food available if pizza is not your preference.

My partner and I stopped in for a bite to eat on the way to the East Oawestry Community Centre. We were watching the wrestling there. Fantastic food, really friendly staff, and a lovely cosy aesthetic. Was thrilled. Our server forgot our onion rings but ran out with them when we mentioned it. If we are in Oswestry again we'll definitely come back.
