Lovely food and attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble! The activities they had outside for the kids were brill and the staff interacted so brilliantly.

Staff rude. Food 1/10. Food missing of a roast dinner. When missing roast potatoes arrived they were like 4 thin chips. When asked for more staff said it’s 2 each so that’s enough. Food isn’t worth spending money on. DO NOT EAT AT THIS PUB.

We, a local learning difficulties drama club visit most weeks on a Tuesday night, when the drama club is on a close season. The pub allows us to book a section for a large group and we order food and drinks each time, encouraging each of our guys to place their order themselves. The staff (particularly Adam) are very patient and understanding each evening. The food is of good quality and all of our guys look forward to and enjoy their night out. Long may it continue!

Jess has smashing customer service… her around passion around dough balls is magic and her details to conversations around the standard where magic.

Tables were sticky,Women's toilets poor , paint coming off in a number of places,all looking very tired whole place needs a complete uplift.

We came for the kids party. It was okay. My son enjoyed the playground and his burger and chips lunch. Reasonably priced food. Good portions and speed of service was good

lovely atmosphere as you walk in, very friendly and welcoming. it was a hot day and there was free cold water from a dispenser on the bar. Dog friendly with bowls for their food and water. Large garden with plenty of tables. good sized adventure playground for the children. A wide choice of beer, lager and stouts on tap. good food choice including themed nights. meal and a drink special offers. food came quickly and was tasty and plentiful. very pleasant experiences, we went three nights, with helpful friendly staff.

Really enjoyed our meal here. First visit enroute to Chester. Caroline greeted us and was friendly and helpful.

I've been here twice now. Each time, there were items I wanted that were not available. Went as a family of 6 for my grandsons birthday. Megamix grill sold out. Mix grill sold out. Ended up having gammon that was undercooked. The staff were friendly and apologetic. I understand it is a popular place to go and gets very busy on occasions. But this wasn't one of those times. I will save myself the hour and a half to get there. Won't be going again.

Cheap prices, good quality, Fish was mostly batter, place requires refurbishment desperately.

we arrived here at 8:47pm hoping to get some food we asked if they were still serving they said no and they had shut early because it was quiet I get it if u want to shut early on a Sunday go ahead but don't advertise that you are open until 9pm if you aren't this was an absolute disappointment!!!!

Wrong place on Google maps, not their fault, but not helpful. Friendly greeting on arrival, that was the highlight. Ordered food through a QR code linked to an online system, seemed reasonably straightforward at first. Some of the order turned up then two attempts to get the rest, eventually turning up after the main was finished , and this was just for one person. One friend had to go through the ordering process three times but only found out the dish wasn't available at the end of the process the first two times and had to start again. Several of the drinks we ordered at the bar on arrival weren't on the online menu. The pie was described as heaving a short crust base and crispy flaky pastry top. As it had been microwaved, all of it was very soggy. Sweet potato fries were OK, peas overcooked, onion rings greasy (and late), cheesy garlic bread very light on the garlic part (and also late). As we were outside, we had to pick up our own cutlery. Not normally an issue, but the first attempt only got us one fork. We asked the staff, who said he would get it filled up. Our second attempt (about 5 minutes later) got us 0 forks. Another reminder and a couple more minutes, we eventually found some on a table inside that was reserved.... sorry to the people when they turned up to their reserved table that they would have been four forks short! Wouldn't really recommend it. The food at the Premier Inn (where we were staying) was better, but we should have made the effort to go into town to find something half decent.

Food was fair, burger overcooked and pie crust a bit tough but otherwise good for the price.

Nice and quiet time 2pm Monday. Decided to drop in to see Martin who gave us a warm welcome food served in 5-6 mins hot really tasty lasagne / chips and salad. Was only there 40 mins a couple of drinks and hope everything was alright for you and see you soon from Martin finished our visit. I totally recommend the pub and the staff giving a friendly atmosphere. Good honest food reasonably priced.

We arrived and had accidentally booked a table for 2 online, but there was 4 and a baby. Caroline was fab. She quickly found us a table and informed myself to check the allergen filter on the website and then to order at the bar with herself.

Just wanted to say how staff member ‘Jess’ was really helpful, she was attentive and approachable and took the time to see to what we wanted & needed. Great communication skills, smiley and professional.

I travel over from Shrewsbury most weekends to have a drink here at the highwayman. And the service we get from Adam and the team here is incredible.He sure makes us feel welcome and always helps us with any queries we may have. He delivers a excellent customer service.

We live close to The Highwayman and go there quite often, 5 times in the last few weeks.The food is always good and staff always pleasant and helpful. We don't mind having to wait awhile sometimes to be served food as it is is freshly cooked and hot. We are not pub people but like the atmosphere here. Keep up the good work.
