Wow - what a great evening and experience we had last night at Roots in Southbourne, Dorset. An unusual and delicious tasting menu and fantastic cooking and hospitality from Jan and his team. Starting with Quails egg and Watermelon salad canapés the early courses included new forest asparagus, truffle sourdough bread dumpling, and a countryside supper of warm rye bread, cured meats and melt in your mouth home smoked salmon. Then onto the fish courses of Japanese mackerel and scallop in a Thai curry broth - fantastic! The main course of Quail was rich and delicious and the chocolate covered blueberry compote and lemongrass and coconut icecream was the perfect end to a truly memorable evening. I definitely recommend a visit - thank you Jan and team for your wonderful food and hospitality. We will be sure to visit again.

This small non-fancy restaurant is situated in Westbourne arcade. Its decor is basic but the food is anything but. We went for the Sunday roast and were delighted with the quantity and quality of the food. We will be returning for the tagine which looks mouthwatering. Definitely recommend.

Went for lunch at this cafe. It was at the end of the sovereign centre that we don't normally visit. We found this cafe and first impressions were good. Clean and tidy inside and plenty of info about the food. We both had a jacket potato, salad and filling. Fantastic .I had a smoothie which was very refreshing and tasty.

What a lovely little gem! My partner I went there last night and we had a real treat. I'm Hungarian and the freshly prepared home cooked food brought back childhood memories. My partner is English and he was blown away with the fresh ingredients and fantastic flavours. Lovely atmosphere and the owners are so lovely and welcoming. Thay made us feel like we are part of their family. Thank you so much we will definitely come back. Please if you're in the area go an try these delicious foods. 😊 ❤️

We visited here when on holiday. Food was fresh, home cooked and excellent value. We returned 3 nights in a row! Portion sizes large, good selection of choice. Good, home cooked, honest food.

Absolutely disgusted with nandos! I ordered a delivery and it never turned up, they claimed they did, I was waiting outside for the delivery driver and noone ever showed up. Noone called me and you're refusing to refund me! Absolutely disgusting!

I had a takeaway for this last night and we ordered the 10 bits of chicken, chicken twister, cheesy chips and cheesy garlic bread and I woke up with morning and with vomiting and diarrhea will not be ordering from here again

Pedimos 2 porciones de comida, pollo a la parrilla y chuletas. Desafortunadamente, no podíamos creer lo que vimos. Solo había 2 piezas de pollo y 3 piezas de chuletas, y la cuenta que pagamos fue de £ 33. 00 . Con esta orden, dos personas normalmente deberían estar llenas, pero con lo que recibimos, ni siquiera una persona podría estar satisfecha. Están estafando a la gente.
