Decided to come back to Roxy as the first visit was so good but turned out to be quite disappointing. We ordered the white bait and it's probably the worst I've ever had. Seemed to have been sitting on a plate all day - dry. My main of pork belly was also nowhere near as good as I experienced previously. Mostly gristle. I probably should have sent the starter back but didn't want to make a fuss. Not sure if there's a new chef but something has changed.

Today 17.07.2024 I served a belly soup at Roxi Bistro Bar and I was not surprised by the quality of the food at this location, it was exceptional, pleasant atmosphere, prompt service, I highly recommend it!!!!

Well, well… I am definitely thrilled! I must tell you that I LOVE this place! It gives me a really good vibe, first of all thanks to the staff, lady Simona at the bar and lady Sorina in the kitchen( they are so so kind, polite and friendly that makes you feel like home!) and then the food is AMAZING! I feel like my mom is cooking for me! The restaurant looks nice, clean and tidy and everything makes you feel welcomed and very comfy! Thank you and I love you! ♥️

I had to be in Bournemouth for a funeral and as we were early we stopped for a bite to eat.lovely food and really good service . I left a cardigan there and the owner went out of her way to post it back to me…lovely atmosphere…. Will definitely pop back if I go to Bournemouth again

I was just looking for an afternoon late lunch and spotted Roxy's Bistro. The omelette was very good and made a nice meal with chips and a balsamic dressing on the salad. The home made dessert, a very chocolate-covered doughnut and doughball, was great with a nice coffee. Would recommend that you give Roxy's a try.

Great food cooked all fresh and from scratch. Great choices on the menu. Eat there all the time. Not expensive. All the staff really freindly. Definetly recommend get tired of big chains these days.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Today I want to share with you some things from my experience at Roxy's Bistro. The whole adventure started on January 15, 2024. Hygiene raiting 2!!! which is not displayed according to UK law.. you have the possibility of getting sick! because he doesn't follow the hygiene rules, it's a disaster, I worked for 3 months and I was paid 1, I was kicked out of the house like a dog without the money and the phone. And since these weren't enough, keep using the menu and pictures of my creations I hope you take note and don't end up in my situation.

Terrible restaurant if it can be called that, lack of politeness and the kitchen is a disaster. Take this as a major warning, they charged 9 pounds just for the bread..... You can see the rest of the prices too, big shame.

Absolutely delicious ☺ we tried the Tagitelle with prawns & Tower burger, roast beef & chocolate cake for desert (to die for) .They offer a delicious menu to suit everyone with an amazing presentacion well recommended, lovely friendly staff, spotless & excellent value,,, we will be back ☺.

We visited today for brunch. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed and appealing. My husband had full English, and My mum and I had the plant-based full English. We also ordered tea, which arrived in a lovely big pot with plenty of milk. The food was delicious, freshly made and tasty. We will return and also plan to visit on an evening for dinner. Highly recommend.

We drive 1hour and 15 minutes just to have my favourite Papanași, they never disappoint us, this time I'm sure it was even big than before! Absolutely fantastic, worth the travel.

Food was excellent, friendly service, but waiting time for the food to be serve is too long. All I see is 3 tables at that time.

Always great food and service. They looked after us particularly well even during a power cut that paused or food being prepared for about an hour but they kept us fueled with drink and snacks.

Wonderful food & service but very, very quiet which affected atmosphere

Lamb's liver, bacon strips, mashed potatoes and peas. One of the first meals I had at Roxy's Bistro Bar was with chicken's liver that I've never tried before. It was delicious. I'm a creature of habit and I usually go for cod with hand-cut chips and peas. It was cold and rainy so I thought to have something wholesome like beef stew with dumplings or a Romanian soup, very heart warming during wintery weather. Lamb's liver, bacon strips, mashed potatoes and peas was on the Specials board. Succulent tender liver with gravy on a bed of mashed potatoes surrounded by peas in a round dish. This was a substantial meal and I had no room for a dessert. This went down with a pot of tea. A Guinness just wasn't the ticket. The lamb's liver is reminiscent of that made by my grandma way back on weekly visits to her home in the Poole. A credit to the chef demonstrating the skills to prepare English food. Highly recommended.

A lovely bistro and café. Clean, light and airy with pleasant background music. Excellent quality food, beautifully cooked and excellent service. Coffee is excellent quality to. Highly recommended.

Went to Roxy's on a recommendation. Ordered the 9 item breakfast. When it came I was a bit surprised that the sausages were barely cooked though edible. The beans were in the smallest container ever. I asked for a slice of bread & butter which came as pieces of bagette So I asked again & out came a slice of bread. When I asked for some butter it came out frozen so couldn't put it on the bread without trying to thaw it out on the teapot. I was also overcharged for the bread as I assumed it was one of the 9 items. Food was OK but wouldn't rush back.

Ordered grilled chicken breast and fries. The chicken was smelling bad and it looked like it was not cooked properly, I was unable to eat it. The fries were not cooked properly either. Service was good, nothing to complain, but food quality still needs adjusting.

Good food with incredibly friendly staff

You can find here traditional romanian plates. The staff is really friendly and make you feel comfortable. The food is excellent. I have now been many times here and I would definitely highly recommend this place. You will not regret it.

We pop-in here today and we ate the most balanced prawn cocktail, and some amazingly fluffy and tasty papanasi. The main courses were also good. It takes some time until you're served but the waiting it worth.

Love the atmosphere at Roxys. Visit here regularly. Good service as well.

Excellent small Bistro with a Romanian twist. The main menu has a good range of classic dishes, but the adventurous should ask for the "secret" Romanian specialities.

Din păcate gramajul nu este afișat nicăieri iar când am sunat mi s-a spus ca are 180grame portia de ciulama cu tot cu mămăliga. Raportul cantitate-pret este cam exagerat in condițiile in care nu se specifica . Și 180 de grame in total este foarte puțin pentru o persoana care mănâncă normal(porție normala) - prețul porției care e de £12. Altfel, n as mai fi comandat de la restaurantul asta ,fiind și însărcinată(vorba aia).

Popped in here on a Sunday midday feeling a little “hangry”. Lovely welcome. Really nice menu. Ate one of the tastiest and well presented burger that I have had in a very long time . Will be back and hope to sample some of the dishes in the Dracula part of the menu! Thank you so much !

Roxy's last night - three lifelong friends for a catch-up Supper. Good food at reasonable prices. My chips were only luke-warm, but otherwise all fine. Our waitress was astonishing. Very, very welcoming, and 'efficient' doesn't even come close to describing her. Somehow my body language signalled I was about to order a second drink - I turned round and she was already there, arm outstretched to take my glass. Brilliant. Bill split & prepared before we'd asked (she had spotted the shifting about, patting pockets for wallets, no doubt). That woman should be training across Dorset how to do it properly! Weirdly, sometimes three, sometimes two tough, vaguely angry looking guys would sit at the bar - turn to glance and they'll scowl at you - like in TV movies. At different times, one or both would walk outside to the pavement, where four of them would stand in a huddle and scowl at the traffic. Then they'd come back, different ones, to the bar. No food. I love Roxys, perhaps not all the visitors.

An absolute pleasure to eat at roxy's bistro bar. The menu is minimalistic... But boy what's on offer is of the upmost quality and flavour. Serving dishes from various countries of classic cuisine.... All in a relaxing, ambient atmosphere.

The staff were attentive friendly and really knew there food. You can tell there generally interested in what they do. The food was delicious you get a real authentic feel. Can not wait to go again brilliant job guys thank you very much!

Was in Bournemouth for a 2 day flying visit, discovered Roxy's on day 1, had a wonderful breakfast, all 4 of us loved our meals & the service & atmosphere was friendly & welcoming, music & decor really gave it a holiday feel too. We enjoyed it so much we returned on day 2 & once again all loved the food we chose, will definately be returning next time we're in town :)

It's OK. Been wanting to eat for awhile but finally went and honestly not sure if I go back. Staff not paid much attention and food was ment to come with salad didn’t only got leafs. Asked to pay took awhile and trying pay staff made you feel you was in a pain. Cos staff had to move. Made me feel unwelcome and was more excited to see a dog and other customers that just turned up.

Fresh Romanian food like momy used to cook. Amazing

Food is ok, but the waiter was not speaking English very well and so made mistakes when taking our order. Ended up with one cold food and one club sandwich with way too much sauce.

Went for breakfast and everything was cold. I threw up outside. Never going again

I hadn't visited Roxy's Bistro since the Covid-19 lockdown. I popped in with a lifelong friend on the spur of the moment around noon with the intention of having a drink. We were delighted to see Roxy and she attended our table. Naturally, we were offered a menu. We ordered drinks. The menu whetted our appetite and we were selecting items for a hearty late English breakfast, which has always been a tasty and filling nourishing no grease meal. The locally made sausages are especially tasty. My friend saw Roxy come from her kitchen with a plate of fish and chips, which tempted him because the price was £8 which is comparable with the breakfast with the number of items he planned ordering. We ordered fish and chips when Roxy returned with our drinks. The fish and chips warrants a separate paragraph. My friend wasn't exaggerating about the size of the fish. This golden battered fish from end to end virtually overlapped the edge of the plate which was thicker than I've had from a fish and chip shop. The fish was on a bed of handmade chips, accompanied by a mini of peas and tartare sauce. It tasted as good as it looks and was very filling. Highly recommended! Roxy has maintained her high standards of high quality meals, competitive prices, impeccable service and with a 5 star hygiene rating you can't go wrong. I'm very tempted if I have sufficient funds to hire Roxy's Bistro for a private birthday party to celebrate my retirement. I'm more inclined to have a buffet than a sit down table meal because many of my friends know each other and can circulate. As a final thought it's great when you are served by the owner.

Quaint place with Southern Europe vibe. Atmosphere is beautiful due to tasteful music. Food very nice,we had traditional Romanian food but the place offers wonderful British quisine and more at decent prices. Service is quick and not too much fuss. Liked the place. Tripe soup ,traditional food,an acquired taste . Sarmale cu mamaliga which are a staple of Romanian and balkanic food(stuffed cabbage leaves with polenta and to end papanasi(sweet fried dough with cheese,lovely)

Such a shame, we went for Christmas dinner. The starters were good & came out quite quickly, we then waited for over an hour for our main course which was... Cold/hard potatoes Frozen mixed veg Frozen Yorkshire puddings Cold cauliflower cheese that was obviously cut out of a tray, the cheese sauce was more a congealed mess! The only nice things were the turkey, pigs in blankets & the gravy. They clearly aren't prepared for roast dinners!

Not visited this restaurant before and decided to book something different for our sons birthday. We were not disappointed. The waitress was lovely and nothing was to much. The food selection was ample and suited everyone. The food was so good and portion sizes were more than enough. All in all a great place to go for good food. We will definitely be returning

We had very high expectations heading into roxys. However, it was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Ever. We were EXTREMELY disappointed by the very poor quality of food, the French toast was literally just a piece of cheap old normal bread that come from the toaster, powdered with a bit of sugar, no heart, where is the passion?? The scrambled eggs was literally like sickly white diarrhoea (it was that disgusting) and I’m not sure what was worse, the way the scrambled eggs looked or how they smelt which was like the smell of rotten sulfur burps. They put extra salt on our bacon. Why? The coffee was just cheap insta coffee with filthy cups, even the plates was pretty filthy. Tables was dirty, seats was dirty. The staff gave us the evil looks, kept staring at me angrily, as if they thought I was inferior. You know you should never judge a book by its cover. The list is endless here. It was honestly embarrassing. I love to talk about restaurants with my family, friends, work colleagues, it is a passion of mine and they won’t be hearing good things. Sort it out…..

Mostly everytime I've been in other than when Roxy is actually in, I've either had cold food or they've forgotten something on the breakfast, or not added it entirely, did have a bad experience just after covid with a glass that had not been cleaned and still had lipstick on, and I was sadly drinking from it before I even noticed it. ( I don't wear any make up )

I haven't been able to visit lower Charminster for a couple of years or so. I was very hungry early evening on Tuesday 17th August 2021 and I went that way to order a favourite of mine, which is a chicken korma curry at the Curry Master. I was disappointed to find it closed. This turned into a lucky day! Roxy's Bistro Bar was open. I went in and I was overjoyed to see Roxy herself on duty. Years ago I was a regular at Roxy's and virtually every time I went in Roxy was often working alone. I always enjoyed the food and a few pints of Becks. I mentioned to Roxy that my favourite pint is a Guinness. Much to my delight Roxy took note and announced on my next visit that canned Guinness with a widget inside was now on the drinks menu. It was delicious surprise from a can. Roxy has upstaged this can since then. Now another type of can is available. The Guinness is first poured into a glass and then placed on what appears to be an ultrasonic plate for a period of time. The result is as if it was poured from the traditional nitrogen gas hand pump. It's so close, it's not worth mentioning the subtle difference. I mentioned to Roxy I was starving and I would like to see the menu. Bless Roxy for remembering my preference for meat and fries. I went for Roxy's suggestion of a Today's Special of BBQ ribs with fries. The fries were unlike any I have had before, they were not out of fat frier for sure. They were delicious! The meat on the ribs was succulent and melted in my mouth with a wonderful tasting glazed sauce as a compliment. I enjoyed the fries even more when I dipped them in a pot of sauce which accompanied the me. No surprises for getting a great drink and a meal. What was really great is to find Roxy is back in her Bistro after taking a break from the restaurant to bring two lovely girls into the world. I recommended the Bistro years ago and I endorse the Bistro today. Do pop in and see for yourself. If you have a favourite and it's not on the menu - mention it to Roxy and perhaps you'll find it available next time you visit? WELCOME BACK ROXY!

Marți 21 iulie am vizitat Bournemouth beach, și după amiaza m am gândit sa mănânc ceva mâncare tradițională! După o zi torida am cerut 2 beri, care erau la temperatura camerei, nu le a deschis în fata noastră ci în bar, la ce le servești dacă s calde, în fine a adus berile nici nu ne-am atins de ele, bineînțeles au fost pe nota de plata, ciorba de burta bună dar micii dezamagitori și puțin arși, nu a-și reveni din nou în aceasta locație!

Mancarea foarte buna si personalul foarte amabil!! Recomand cu mare incredere !!!

One of our hot drinks were cold, food took nearly an hour for eggs royal and sausage and bacon sandwich which turned up cold, and the plates were so hot you'd burn yourself if you touched them. Wouldn't recommend
