Came here for my freinds birthday meal as a group of 6. I had the salmon dish with grilled veg & potato's. It was delicious and I would recommend this dish. The veg were cooked to perfection. Quite a wait as food was freshly cooked. Relaxing atmosphere and freindly staff.

Me and my partner had a very pleasant experience. The place was very cosy vintage music Hungarian atmosphere, the owners were very welcoming, and the food was stunning! Everything so delicious from starter to dessert. You can even take away if you can’t eat all the food. We are a bit far from Bournemouth but we will definitely return whenever we are around the area, and we will definitely recommend to anyone! ❤️

This place is a great find. I have been here a couple of times now and the food, drinks and atmosphere are amazing. The staff are really nice and the venue is done really well (very traditional). I would definitely recommend trying this place is you find yourself in Bournemouth looking for nice food.

I have been here twice (both times I visited Bournemouth), if you want nice filling food, good drinks and a great traditional atmosphere, I can strongly recommend going to Paprika. I had a great evening here and left very full and satisfied. The staff are lovely people too.

We came to this amazing welcoming Hungarian restaurant while on a weekend beach trip. The owners Elvira & Géza are the best hosts you could wish for! We were greeted like regulars, even though it was our first time to dine here. We had the fish soup, bean beef goulash & chicken fried in rosti (grated potato). Everything tasted absolutely amazing, real home cooked food just like at your family in Hungary. We stayed beyond the regular opening hours on Saturday evening and we weren't rushed to leave, what was so nice - so we could really enjoy our meal. Had a lovely chat with the owners too. We will definitely come back - it is worth the drive from London! Real people, real fresh home cooked meals!

I was in this wonderful establishment together with my partner. We were pleasantly surprised! Everything is very tasty! Very friendly and hospitable owners! A cozy atmosphere is felt immediately upon entering. Really fresh home-made dishes like at mom's house! Be sure to try it! I recommend! This is now our favorite restaurant in Bournemouth ❤️🔥

What a fantastic restaurant! The hosts were so welcoming. I arrived late on Friday evening and they went above and beyond to entertain me. The food was absolutely delicious and I was made to feel like a special guest, they stayed open late for me and I was given extra goulash to take home with me. I highly recommend.

Twice I've been,I had the diffrent types of soups . Huge portions for the goulash. Homely family restaurant. Staff is super friendly and nice hungarian music. This is not a 5 star restaurant but if you woukd like to try new European food ,this is the place . 10 /10.

Had a fab time at the live music Friday! Amazing singer and guitarist and lovely atmosphere! The food (especially chicken soup) is very tasteful and you can tell it's been prepared with heart! As a Hungarian I can say that the food was amazing (tasted like my grandmother’s), good portion and fairly priced. We tried the beef stew (marhaporkolt nokedlivel) with dumplings and chicken in potato cover (matraaljai borzaska). The place is baby and kids friendly with baby change and play corner. It was an authentic Hungarian dinner experience. The owners are hardworking and nice people. The best Hungarian food in England, definitely recommend.

We visited the restaurant yesterday for dinner. The place looks worn down. They played old Hungarian music. The waitress was really friendly. The food wasnt the greatest but big portions.

We had three different dishes, they were all very tasty, great atmosphere, amazing service, highly recommended.

My second visit here to try some of the interesting Hungarian dishes with friends. We shared three different main courses - beef stew with dumplings, a spicy pork dish and chicken with cheese. Plus some roasted vegetables. All very good and we each had our own favourite. I would also recommend the paprikash from my previous visit. Lovely to chat with the owner. Relaxed atmosphere. Still lots on the menu to try so will be back to try more. Would like to be there when there's live music on!

Every time we come to Bournemouth we always pop in and say hi and have a meal here. The food is always fantastic and my partner should know she is Hungarian 😂. Service is lovely always friendly, we feel more like family than just customers. Prices are always so reasonable we don’t know how they do it but so lucky as many places are a rip off nowadays and this definitely isn’t one of them.

We returned after 6 years, but we were not disappointed the second time either. Friendly service, divinely delicious food, cozy place. :) we warmly recommend it!

My boyfriend and I visited this authentic Hungarian restaurant in Bournemouth several weeks ago. We had been looking up good places to eat dinner in the area without spending a fortune and preferred a more independent restaurant, when we discovered this Hungarian restaurant only five minutes down the road from us. My boyfriend is Hungarian and we visited Hungary together in December so we were excited to try this new place and hopefully make it a regular place to eat. We stayed in Budapest but found it difficult to find proper Hungarian restaurants in the area so we had high hopes for this place in Bournemouth. We were welcomed by a lovely polite man, one of the owners of the restaurant who ensured we were comfortable and went above and beyond to make us feel happy, such as by offering us the warmest seats in the place and asking what music we would prefer to listen to. His wife later joined to serve us as well and was just as lovely and caring as him. The atmosphere was warm and the lighting was soft. We placed our order and were surprised at the amount of food that came out! This place is such great value for money as we received more food than we could imagine, all freshly prepared in a very clean setting. We ate soup which was incredibly delicious, some of the best tasting chicken we have ever had, and amazing cucumber salad. Even writing this now makes me eager to go back because the food was just that excellent. We are in the process of currently trying to convince our families to make the journey from London to Bournemouth just to visit this restaurant. Thank you so much for our lovely visit! We will certainly be back to dine with you again soon!

Revisited Paprika for my birthday with friends. We had a lovely time, the atmosphere and the owners were very friendly. We love meals at Paprika, they are home made and truly made with love, high quality and tasty. We will go back very soon again. P.S. sorry that somebody was upset, (as she expressed in her teview), it was my birthday and I did ask the owner to take a few photos of us, which she kindly did. Nothing wrong with that I think?? Maybe some youngsters need to learn good manners and tame their inflated ego.

I honestly cannot believe how bad the experience was. We waited over an hour for our starter and then another 45 mins for the main which was cold. When I told the chef this, he didn't apologise but told me he "heated it himself" and grudgingly reheated it. It came back sloppily on a different plate. We then had to ask for the bill twice because the lady was too busy talking to a group of customers and taking photos for them. Not a single apology was offered and the restaurant wasn't even half full. None of it made sense. I was genuinely shaking with anger and had to get out of there before I blew my top. Just astounding.

Our first experience of Paprika was from stepping inside from a dark, wet, windy street to a warm and very welcome space with amazing energy. A peaceful relaxed atmosphere with a genuine homely feel, very appreciative friendly staff, a selection of amazing food and nice wines and a cool bluesy guitarist playing. Leave all your previous experiences of other restaurants at the door and just enjoy the feeling that this wonderful family run restaurant and much needed sanctuary from a busy world has to offer. Most pleasant dining experience ever. The lady running the place is incredibly warm and friendly and you will leave the place full and satisfied. Food is incredible and served hot and on time, the service feels personal. Expect live music and to have your picture taken with you and all of your friends.

The place feels very homely, it’s run by a family which have been friendly throughout our stay. The food was really enjoyable as well as the overall atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it if you want to try something different in Bournemouth!

Az ételek nagyon finomak és izletesek plusz nagyon nagy adagot kaptunk, amivel abszolút jó lehet lakni. Kellemes magyar zene a háttérben. Jó reggelt kedves paprika étterem, Hajnali hat óra. Miután pontoztam éttermüket, letettem telefonom és nem szorongattam, arra várva, hogy írjanak. Arra főleg nem számítottam, hogy az étterem tulajdonosa a Facebook oldalán keresi fel páromat és engem, és miután nem reagáltam egyből, törli az üzenetet majd újra ír, hogy biztos lássam?! Elnézést kérek de milyen jogon zaklatni minket?! Véleményt formáltunk, ami nem tetszett őnöknek és ezt az egész család elkezdte ellensúlyozni 5csillagos értékeléssel.. Biztos lesznek még vendégek, akik ízletesnek találják az ételeket és jönni fognak a pozitív visszajelzések. Az otthoni ízek reményében rendeltünk önöktől, és ha előbb olvasunk utána biztos máshogy döntünk. 19:14 kor adtuk le rendelésünk, amit este 10 órakor vehettem át.. Olyan kifogásokkal, hogy tele volt az étterem, illetve sok rendeléssel kellett foglalkozni, kérem ne is próbálkozzon, (étterem managerként tudom, hogy) ha ilyet írnék a vendégnek a fönököm körberöhögne. Amennyiben mégis így alakult, ki kellett volna kapcsolni a rendelés elfogadását, és/vagy a vendéget informálni, hogy sajnos nem tudják teljesíteni.. Az ételről korábbi kritikák/vélemények olvashatóak, kicsivel egészíteném ki, a gulyás levesben ugyanaz a túlfőtt ízetlen hús volt mint a marha pörköltben (sajnálom szegény állatot, hogy áldozata értelmetlen volt) a mátrai borzaska elázott a párától a petrezselymes krumpli hideg és ehetetlen volt.. Tudom... A séf új vagy,rossz napja volt, vagy kevesen voltak,(vagy valami hasonló) megértem, tudom nehéz a vendéglátás 10 éve vagyok a szakmában, de kérem, a mirelit túróval töltött valamit ne fokhagymás tejföllel adjuk a vendégnek. Nem akartam rosszat írni, de mindennek van egy határa. Köszönöm, hogy elolvasta a kifejtett véleményemet, választ nem várok(nem is szeretnék, amennyiben érkezik azt figyelmen kívül hagyom) kár lenne a drága idejét egy " fake profilra" pazarolni 😉 😉 Tisztelettel

A környezet szép volt,hangulatos jó zene szólt. Az ételek nem voltak rosszak de a krumpli es a desszert is bolti volt. Ahhoz képest mikyen sokat kellett várni másra számítottunk. Volt hogy bejöttek vendégek de 10 perc utan elmentek mert senki nem jött feléjük hogy fel vegye a rendelést.

All the food we tried was absolutely amazing!!! For starters we shared goulash with beans, for mains we had a sharing platter where we chose breaded cheese, cordon bleu and pork with some salad, fries and buttered potatoes with parsley, for dessert we had somloi galuska ( I hope that's the right way to write it). I don't usually write reviews but all this food felt like it was made by my mom/grandma, all home made and soooooooooooooooooooooo delicious. Honestly if you like central/eastern european kitchen this is definitely the place to go ASAP. Our visit was postponed for about 2 or 3 years for different reasons and that was the biggest mistake. We almost stopped going to the restaurants as we are fed up with the quality of food in most of the places but here you get quality for a great price, cheaper than most of the restaurants in Bournemouth and taste and quality much better and higher than what you get anywhere else around. We visited it on Wednesday evening and there was another table when we arrived but for most of our stay we were there alone and I believe this is a mistake, this place should be full and buzzing, they honestly deserve it!!! If you love good food, honest and nice service book yourself in, we are going to come back again soon! Thanks for great food and experience

We wanted to go to for a long time to Paprika and we couldn't We regret so much we didn't go before the food is amazing it makes you feel at home, and the service is the best service I ever have had in the UK, she is so lovely kind and nice person. We had goulash as a starters and as a Main, we had platers for 2 and red wine marinated. Food is 10/10

Este 7-re volt foglalasunk, 6 fos tarsasag. 8 orara vegre felvettek a rendelesunket es kaptunk inni. A rendelesfelvetel egy vicc volt, ketszer szakitott felbe minket a kedves hölgy mert inkabb elment szőnyeget igazitani. Majd mondta h kb 30-40 percet kell az etelre varni. Tobb mint ket ora varakozas utan kihoztak az etelt, bar nem azt amit mi rendeltunk. Nem lettunk tajekoztatva arrol h nincs feherhal vagy elfogyott a disznohus es emiatt mast kellene valasztanunk. Nem is ez a problema hogy elfogyott es nem tudnak ilyen etelt talalni, hanem azzal hogy NEM LETTUNK MEGKERDEZVE! Ehelyett ok eldontottek hogy mit egyunk es lerakták elenk egy “ bocsanat de nincs disznohus ezert csak ezzel tudunk szolgalni” mondattal. Ezutan mi szova tettuk hogy ez a hozza allas megis mi? Erre ok elkezdtek velunk veszekedni, szemelyeskedni es nagyon bunkok voltak. A hölgy meg visszajott ketszer az asztalunkhoz es elkezdte mondani a hulyesegeket anelkul hogy barki odahivta volna es igy aki enni akart sem tudott enni. En nem ettem az etelbol mivel a hus savanyu volt , a sultkrumpli hideg es el volt azva. Baratnom szinten igy jart. 6 emberbol ketto hozza sem nyult az etelhez, ketto pedig a felet sem ette meg… szoval cirka 3 ora utan éhesen es mergesen tavoztunk errol a helyrol. ez az etteremnek nevezett hely egy vicc, a kiszolgalas kritikan aluli, a szemelyzet hozza allasa szornyu es bunko! Az illemhelyrol ne is beszeljunk, ajtot nem lehet zarni, es se wc papir nem volt, se szappan se keztorlo. Soha tobbet a kozelebe sem megyunk ennek a helynek…

If you want an authentic hungarian experience with a homely feel, come here! They're extremely welcoming with great food. I will go again when I'm back in the area for sure! There's lots on the menu but I wish I asked whether they did the potato pancakes or the poppy seed cakes.

The owner made us welcome from the moment he sąw us walking into his restaurant. Such a warm friendly atmosphere. He took the time to explain the menue and the various regions of where the food came from. We must say what we had was delicious! Garlic pork with bacon, red wine beef stew with cucumber and tomato salad, mouthwatering. If you are wondering if we stayed for a dessert...... Well of course we did. A sponge pudding, with rum, walnuts, chocolate sauce with whipped cream OMG! So yummy!! We'll be back!

Only ordered. Food, very far from Hungarian taste or cuisine. The gulyás soup full with cartilages, and chewy bits, no gulyás soup taste whatsoever, blend and barely tastes as anything..... I tried the quark dumplings, they supposed to be light and fluffy, this ones were hard like a grenade, chewy and I couldn't find the quark cheese anywhere, the breadcrumbs tasted rancid,and the soured cream on top of it garlicky. (I had better ones what was frozen)....God awfull. A disgrace and a bad joke of Hungarian cuisine and tastes. My daughter had the Bolognese, it was edible but not great, also not Hungarian...My partner got the Gordon bleu not seasoned at all, had not much taste, and didn't looked like a Gordon bleu either, also it's isn't Hungarian...... All in one, it's not great food. Avoid this restaurant, don't waste your money.

We’ve been today in the Restaurant and had Goulash Souo for starter which was authentic & delicious, similar how my Grandma cooked . Than We had Chicken with potato which was tasty too. And for dessert We had the cottage cheese dumplings which was very sof and tasty. We really recommend this Restaurant and looking foreward to come back again soon.

My first time eating Hungrier Food and was good looks like this restaurant is run by a couple (family) the first impression I have wasn’t pleasant as the entrance have a lot of unnecessary stuff (kids toys plastic flowers books that not to be there) and they are all over (very messy) as you are going to eat and enjoying some traditional dishes not to some one’s home. So for me that was very disappointing looking at all those things. Service. Very slow so that was another down side. Facilities. Not up to a good standers of cleaning as I said the place looks like kindergarten and Not a Restaurant so that means looks more messy Food. was enjoyable but but for me it miss that wow factor. Do I recommend this place? Well looks like they do have a lot of positive reviews and some people like it. But if you are a first time enjoy a good meal and feel like you are in a traditional Restaurant and don’t have to looks at toys in the floor and plastic well guess you will be a bit disappointed. Do I will return? I guess Not ( and Remember Paprika learn how to take a criticism some times a customer have the rights to make a bad comment )

After few recommendations form our friends after long day at work we decided to have a dinner at paprika I'm not a big fan of writing bad reviews but just want to share our opinion about the food as we were really disappointed Gulash well this should be nr 1 dish in Hungarian restaurant Blunt greasy probably reheated in microwave no taste of paprika at all neither any spices or herbs cheap meet mush plus served with tiger bread from Tesco🤦 Cordon blue sliced in weird flat style no spices cheap potatoes no salt or butter to be fair only positive was a bowl of water with sliced cucumber cream salad Really sorry as we are big fans of Hungarian cusine but even whole bottle of palinka wouldn't help us to forget our disappointment Hope place will improve and we can give it one more chance in the future
