We visited here when on holiday. Food was fresh, home cooked and excellent value. We returned 3 nights in a row! Portion sizes large, good selection of choice. Good, home cooked, honest food.

We visited the place for todays lunch. When received our meal we realised why the name is "Full Plate": the portions are huge and the quality of food is excellent. Pierogi were homemade, delicious! Zurek soup was rich and aromatic, served with sourdough. We are looking forward to going back to try their Vienna cheesecake and other polish dishes.

We visited this place last Friday. Had a good time with good quality food. So if you looking for good meat with reasonable prices this place is for you.

I have found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. Restaurant is in town centre, easy to find. Staff was very polite and helpful. Food came on in good time and it was amazing. I will definitely come back there. Highly recommend

So glad that we found and booked this charming Polish restaurant for our recent day trip to Bournemouth.-Located down a flight of stairs from the entrance, the dining space still feels contemporary, airy and spacious. Our host was very welcoming, polite and he helpfully explained anything that we were unsure about (and his recommended favourite beer was beautifully smooth)-The menu is typically Polish and we found the quality of the food to be really good – certainly this would be a good place to introduce someone to Polish food. -For STARTERS: Heartily recommend the RUSSIAN DUMPLIINGS (PIEROGI with CHEESE). The ZUREK soup was delicious - a thin soup combining fresh herbs, smokey sausage and a gently sour undercurrent of rye that really sets up the taste buds for the next course. -FOR MAINS: We asked about the XL MIX GRILL and was advised “Its big!” Luckily he skipped the starter as his plate was the same size as the menu! It was a lot of meat but perfectly cooked and it clearly went down well! The spicily seasoned BEEF STEW served with the KOPYTKA (potato dumplings) was also a winner for one of my other friends, as were the POTATO PANCAKES with the mushroom sauce the base of which is a little like rosti, but better. One of the SPECIALS was MEAT STUFFED CABBAGE and this was the best rendition of one of my personal favourite Polish dishes as the meat filling was firm and not padded out with rice as is so often the case and the accompanying MASHED POTATO was firm and creamy.-Sadly by this point we were all feeling rather well fed, so we had to put a rain check on any aspirations for a desert until next time. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food and friendly service at The Full Plate. We would gladly return and, if we lived locally, this would become a regular place to eat.

Incredible food - so tasty. The portions are huge and very good value for money. Staff are attentive and helpful with recommendations. Definitely recommend and looking forward to coming back.

The food here was absolutely delicious & both my husband and I enjoyed it. However, what let the restaurant down was the fact that even though it’s small & downstairs, they still let dogs in. This put us off returning which is a shame.

Este restaurante es una pequeña joya y vale la pena visitarlo, la cocina polaca era increíble, una buena variedad de platos, y el pan de ajo estaba increíblemente con ajo. ¡Me encantó!Luego comí pollo envuelto en tocino con una selección de ensaladas y papas que estaba muy bien presentado y lleno de sabor, todos disfrutamos nuestras comidas y tomamos un par de tragos de vodka polaco después, lo cual fue encantador, definitivamente volveremos.

Realmente recomiendo ese restaurante. La comida estaba deliciosa. La sopa polaca? Urek y el filete de lomo de cerdo empanizado con ensalada y patatas tiernas estaban deliciosos. Al final, he pedido la tarta de manzana que también estaba muy rica. Al final, me gustaría agregar que agradecí mucho ver a mi selección nacional de fútbol en vivo. Una vez mas, muchas gracias.

Un buen lugar si tienes hambre, no se llama plato completo por nada. Relativamente barato también, debajo de un pub había dos tipos diferentes de música. Probé las albóndigas rusas que eran preciosas. Pollo al ajillo un poco seco para mi gusto pero agradezco que todos sean diferentes. Vale la pena alejarse de la avenida principal para probar este.

Over the course of the last few months a group of us have been using this restaurant. Over this period the quality of the food keeps improving. Make certain you are hungry as the portions are very large. A favourite of our group.

Aunque en realidad no he estado en el restaurante principal, he comido su comida en el bar Downes, justo encima de tres veces, ahora, en el camino de regreso del trabajo.La comida es excelente, estilo casero de calidad, grandes porciones y todo a un precio extremadamente razonable; para mí siempre fue por debajo de 10 para una comida principal. Nunca antes había probado la comida polaca y este lugar ahora me engancha, ¡incluso estoy probando mis propias versiones de sus comidas en casa ahora! También ha demostrado ser un éxito entre mis compañeros de trabajo y se está convirtiendo en una parada regular cada semana.El bar Downes también merece la pena una visita. Recientemente, cuenta con un personal muy amable que lo hace sentir bienvenido en segundos, con un ambiente agradable y no muy ocupado. Combinado con la comida Full Plate, no puedes equivocarte.

Hemos descubierto este restaurante en nuestra última estancia en Bournemouth en mayo. Tienen buffet en sábado a domingo por 15 por persona y restaurante normal de lunes a viernes. ¡Hemos tenido la oportunidad de probar la mayoría de las comidas y son increíblemente sabrosas! La comida en el Full Plate es siempre deliciosa y de excelente calidad. Está claro que la comida es de la cocina casera, aunque puede que no esté clasificada como "chic". Es honesto, delicioso y muy abundante. El personal es extremadamente amable y eficiente. El vino y la cerveza también son buenos. Tenga en cuenta las porciones muy grandes!

Después de haber comido un montón de comida polaca y leer las críticas, pensé que estábamos en un capricho. Pagamos 15 cada uno por el buffet. We use this place quite regularly and are always pleased with the food. At weekends they run a buffet style which gives you the chance to try many dishes. Always very clean and staff are very polite.

La comida es etiquetada en polaco y en inglés, así que es fácil saber qué platos son. Teníamos un estilo buffet. En ciertos momentos el sábado y el domingo se paga por peso, así que si hay personas que no comen mucho que pagar menos. Una muy buena idea. Hay un aparcamiento cerca. Los fines de semana vale la pena reservar. Realmente recomiendo este restaurante polaco.

Esta noche tuve la suerte de ser invitado a esta maravillosa joya de restaurante en Landsdowne. No es saludable. No es complicado. Es simplemente un estilo de buffet sencillo creado con comida realmente deliciosa, buena cerveza y una cálida bienvenida. Parpadea y lo perderás (está escondido debajo de Downes Bar) pero deberías buscarlo pulir o no. Probablemente no sea el mejor para vegetarianos, pero no vi a la carta así que no lo tomes como leído.

The food was a very high standard which is usually un common for a buffet. They topped up the food constantly and it was nice to see a lot of Polish people eating here which is a good sign. Would definately vusit again. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

That was my second visit with friends here. I was surprised about wide range of food so it wasn't easy to choose. My meal was delivered pretty quick... and I need to admit that's really 'full plate' !!! Staff was also proffesional, helpful and attentive....

Only experience prior to this of Polish food was from a uni pal. This place is amazing, and prepares me for my trip to Krakow! FYI we found best value nearby parking at St Paul's Lane, BH8 8AJ!

I have been there few times and every visit the food taste amazing! Very nice place with absolutely amazing Polish food.

This is a really traditional polish restaurant the food is wholesome and taste just like your mum's home cooking and that is a compliment. The food portions were very large, your starters, well they were the size of the mains! Really good value food. Really welcoming staff, loved the pea soup to start, ham hock, sauerkraut and mash for main, followed by a fabulous complimentary homebrewed lemon vodka shot, a great end to the fabulous dinner. We shall return.

Most delighted polish food in town :) 2 people sunday lunch for 15£ incl drinks! Absolutely full plates! highly recomended!

Quick as you help yourself. You see what you take, do not need to know names of courses. You pay after your course is weighted, you can check before, the plate is not taken into account of course. I visited it while on the road towards Cornwall, the only "against" was to find a parking.

Food was beautiful, staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Don't think they know portion control as there was so much food lol. Think next time we go I'll just have a starter and a pudding. Highly recommend the full plate.

The food was delicious and great value for money. We spent a few hours here relaxing and eating with our young daughter. Three courses and two drinks each came to £40 which was very reasonable. We will definitely be returning.

We went to this restaurant with our polish friends. We phoned to book a table for Saturday night and were told it was buffet night . The food was very tasty and plenty to choose from nice home cooked food . You pay for your plate by weighing your plate and we found the price very reasonable. The desserts were lovely Apple cake was fab. I will definitely recommend this place to my English friends and family .

The place is little bit strange. They do server polish meals, but they are very average, it's not the best of polish kitchen specials. It serves average food for average prices. Don't get me wrong, if you are not polish definitely visit this place and try polish meals. I myself am polish and I rate the place just an average.

We were staying for a few days in Bournemouth and found this Polish restaurant. I really loved it (am of Polish origin) for the quality of its food and friendly helpful staff. The atmosphere was really good to - relaxed and unhurried. I had the pierogi(two sorts -cabbage and mushrooms and also the cheese and potatoes). They were delicious. As a Pole I couldn't resist the potato pancakes with sugar & cream (I remember the hours I used to spend making them when I was growing up). They were delicious and not on the menu as a pudding but I was so pleased that I was able to order them. We also had some delicious vodka (Wisniowka - cherry) to finish the meal. Really good meal and excellent value. The restaurant was busy - a really good sign that this is an excellant place to visit.

We went there to have a nice dinner, celebrating our wedding anniversary with my wife. I remembered I had been there in 2012 and had an excellent lunch with massive portions, great beverages and peaceful atmosphere..... No disappointment, both the food and service was still lovely, for a reasonable price, in a fabulous cellar-like venue. Highly recommended to anyone who loves middle-European dishes in best quality. Visited several times with friends and family and there was nothing I could complain about. Lovely food, nice atmosphere, friendly service. The only con is lack of outdoor sitting space. But still, worth to visit.

First time we went there on a Friday and we were disappointed as only buffet was available, no a la carte menu. We went again the other day and tried food from the menu. It was ok but there was nothing special about it. Our devolays were rather dry and we didn't get any ice with our drinks. Side salads were good. Also we were the only diners at the time but the staff were not very interested in our presence. They brought us our meals but from that point onwards they were either nowhere to be found or texting behind the counter.

Bardzo dobre, tradycyjne polskie jedzonko, jak u mamy. Smacznie, nie drogo, przepyszne mięsa. Polecam i na pewno tam wrócę. Very good traditional Polish food, like at home. Tasty, not expensive , delicious meat. I recommend and I will definitely going back there.

They serve a buffet style so that you can try a little of everything to find your favourites. The dishes are all very meaty and hearty which I guess might reflect the colder climate of Poland. On a winters day over here it made for a very filling meal!The dumplings were lovely and definitely recommended and the fried breaded pork was a very popular choice. If you have never tried this type of cuisine then I recommend. Don't expect complex dishes but if you want simple and tasty then they do a great choice.

My wife visited for lunch with her friends and they all chose the buffet lunch and my wife chose to bring some home for me as I was looking after our baby girl. Whilst the buffet food was good (as all Polish food is), it was charged at £1.19 per 100 grams. My small take out portions came to over £13 which is far too expensive for traditional Polish food. This review would have been 4 stars if it were not for the high cost of the traditional food.

I'm polish so its easy for me to check if the food in polish restaurant here in the UK tastes like real polish home made food and it almost does apart from breaded pork escalope that tasted weird... like they would keep it in the freezer and the straight out to the deep frier ... but meat balls were delicious, salads really good, mashed beetroot and bigos ...mmmm really liked it. I went there with my friends to give them a bit of Poland to taste and they really liked it so if you want to try some good polish food - I really can recommend this restaurant. I would just avoid that pork escalope and instead od it take breaded chicken breast escalope - should taste way better !

Tasty food and nice atmosfphere. My children love it. We been there so many times: friends or family meetings, birthdays parties and wedding party - always was great.

I haven't been to a Polish restaurant before and our friend, who is Polish, recommended this restaurant on a night out. The decor was not to my liking and it was in the basement and I felt it was a bit dark. Seated opposite the buffet table made my face hot but all this did n't bother me when I am with my friends and we had a plenty to talk about. The food was tasty and filling. It's good value for money and my advice is to fill your plate up first time and not go for seconds as it works out more money (the weight of the plate regardless of the little portions). The dumplings were a hit and I enjoyed the ribs, sauerkraut and beetroot and the Polish beer. The staff ran it efficiently and food was topped up often. We would come back.

This a bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing. Doesn't look that special and may not have the best decor but it's comfortable, efficient staff, friendly and great food!It's a buffet style and the selection and quality is superb, we really enjoyed it...Nice!

This little gem has the best east European food at a good price. We usually go on Sundays when they have a buffet. I would strongly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

Decor is not great, but try the food. I tried pierogi and I have to tell you, I don't remember when I had pierogi done so well. We also ordered gulasz with potato pancakes and dumplings. All very nice indeed. Delicious!!!!!!!!!Massive portions (excessive I would say), meals done to perfections. I can easily recommend it.

We arrives at about 7:50 on Sunday evening not knowing two keys bits of information. The first was they close at 8:00 on a Sunday evening and secondly that they only have a buffett at the weekends.Despite being close to closing they were very accommodating suggesting we could visit the buffet then take our food upstairs into the wine bar to eat it. We did this with a waiter following us upstairs with our drinks. The price was very fair.The buffet was a mix of meats, vegetables etc, with the cost being based on the weight of food selected as indicated by the electronic scales at the end of the buffet. I enjoyed some pork meat balls in a mushroom sauce and some beef goulash too. Both were great tasting, though not surprisingly the veg were past their best.Next time we’re in Bournemouth we’ll make sure we get their sooner!

The place doesn't look great itself, but it is nice and tidy. The food is excellent!! Always great choice, big portions,good selection of salads and drinks. I was never disappointed when dining there. I will definitely be back soon.

Eaten here several times and never disappointed. The service is always quick and polite. Food is mainly Polish (unsurprisingly) which means its simple, wholesome and filling. Prices and portions excellent. If you are not Polish then give it a go! If you are Polish you have probably already eaten there.

Great no thrills basement restaurant that serves big plates of traditional polish home cooked food, Sunday is a wide spread of buffet that is paid by weight, 99p per 100 grams, so you get a decent meal cheaply, go there often with the kids..

I think it's a high time to try sth. different. As for dishes- i love dumplings and "golonka" (huuuuge!) but they also serve lovely soups i.e. "zurek" with traditional polish sausage and egg. If you like to test more than just one main course- pop in during weekend when they have this buffet thing (you pay 99pence for 100grams of food) so you can mix-and-match your perfect lunch.Make sure you order some polish lagers (lech!, perla!), and speaking bout liquors- did you know that vodka is actually polish invention? They serve crazy "herbs vodka-sprite-cucumber(yes!)-lemon-drink" which is pretty delicious. Grab your friends/fam and give them a shot.

If you are looking for traditional Polish food that is the place where you can safely go. The selection in menu is excellent and in both languages giving you opportunity to try famous pierogi, placki ziemniaczane, kotlet schabowy, kotlet mielony or bigos. During the weekends they have buffet with a different menu, so you can try a bit of everything. It might be quite busy during the day though. The prices are very affordable and the portions have good size, so it is definitely worth the money. They are selling Polish beers too, so you can enjoy a bit of Lech, Zywiec, Warka or Tyskie with your meal. There is no problem with take away too.You pay at the counter at the end of your meal, so do not wait for the bill at the table. They are also supporting events like Christening, birthdays etc. with the food while the party is upstairs. Strongly recommended.

I have been here several times now and the food has been mouth watering delicious every time! The staff are very friendly and welcoming every time I go here. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the size of the portion. Everything right down to the decor and the atmosphere is just lovely. Would highly recommend every time.

As everyone has mentioned you get very big portions which is great. It used to be a bit cheaper but some, of the prices have just gone up, but is still good value for money. I have never had a bad meal here and have been over 20 times. Don't expect gourmet food and you will not be disappointed. For anyone looking for a large "home cooked" style meal this place is highly recommended.

As I commute to Bournemouth by train, this place (downstairs from Downes Bar) is very handy, being on my route from work to the station. I regularly stop at Downes for a drink on my way home, and often call in at lunchtime to enjoy lunch. The meals are excellent quality, with large portions at extremely reasonable prices. The food is not all Polish, and both Polish and English dishes are highly recommended. Give it a go.

typical polish food.staff happy and always willing to help. Very big portions:) tasty homemade Polish food. Regarding we are in England well done for the chefs. i recommend 'russian dumplings' its treat:)

This place used to be great for casual dinner for all family. Everyone used to love it. Went yesterday evening and was disappointed that only the Buffet style was available. We stayed anyway as we had no other dinner plans. Food was not great, lots of the dishes were cold and dried out. Potato pancakes were cold and chewy. Salads were nice but didn't help improve the whole experience. Really hoping the owners do check the reviews, would love this place to go back the way it used to be and serve dinners a la carte on Saturdays and Sundays. Buffet is ok for lunch but not dinner and it needs to be fresh. While I'm reviewing....less TV, it doesn't help the atmosphere.

The portions are massive and the prices are low. I loved every single thing I tried. We usually go for the Sunday Buffet style meal. You pick what you want and it's £0.99 / 100g. I love the Polish salad, the pork loins in breadcrumbs.. the hock. YUM! Can't get enough of this place. :)

Love this place. Good home cooked food which always taste great. Their prices are very reasonable and the service was first rate. Each meal come with a side of potatoes(or chips/potato wadges) and cabbage/green salad. The portions are massive so make sure you come hungry. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, especially try Roast Pork!ROAST PORK IN RICH GRAVY

The Full Plate is in the basement of a wine bar - look for the stairs down. It's a large room tastefully decorated with photos of Poland and pretty little tables with red tablecloths. A big TV was quietly on with Polish news showing.The food was classic Polish, well presented and tasty. The name describes the portion size but at a very reasonable price. Ou biggest disappointment was that it was virtually empty - maybe their buffet evening on a Sunday packs the place out?If we lived nearby we'd certainly go back again.
