Lots of out of stock items at 7:15! Cocktails are fab. The cocktail waiter went to some trouble. Food not so much. Had a lovely waiter. Food a bit disappointing.

First time at the restaurant. I ordered the "300g" "ribeye steak". It certainly wasn't a ribeye steak and if it was, either it's a very poor quality ribeye or their meat supplier is robbing them. To be fair it was cooked medium as I asked for, and the whole meal was cooked right. But when I pay £36 for a rib eye steak I expect a rib eye steak of a very good qaulity. Also the peppercorn sauce tasted of just cream and green peppercorns, I could not taste jus in it, and the colour was very pale. When the waiter came to clear my table he asked me if everything was ok and he saw the plates where clean, (as I was hungry I did not bother to send it back) so he laughed and said "oh the plates look clean so it must have been good" so I could not help it, but to tell him about the steak and I even showed him the picture I took before I started to eat it. The steak was more of a rump steak than a ribeye but either way it was a poor quality steak even for weatherspoon's standards. In other posts on here I read quite a bit about their steak quality and the fact they're always out of something, in my case, as I don't like tap water I asked for a bottle of still water but they did not have any. Picture is attached so you can see for yourselves. For the whole meal I paid £65, 12.5% sc included just for myself. I did not ask for a refund nor for sc to be removed so I am being more than fair in my feedback.

 were visiting the area from the North and looking forward to a nice meal based on the reviews on here. However, on arrival, we were 'greeted' by a fairly miserable looking manager - this was not warm or inviting. We ordered a bottle of wine , to be told they hadn't got it and he recommended another. When it arrived, it was placed on the table and we were asked if we wanted him to pour it. In a restaurant that purports to 'not be a hotel restaurant', I would expect the waiter to pour the wine and in this instance offer a taste beforehand, considering it was recommended. The meal was ok -nothing spectacular. My husband also asked for vinegar and was given mayonnaise and wasn't given a steak knife for his steak. Noone returned to check we were ok. We were then asked twice in quick succession if we wanted dessert but needed time to let our mains settle first. There were only 3- 4 main items on the dessert menu and we both wanted the chocolate fondant. They had none of this either- particularly annoying when there weren't that many items on the dessert list for them to have pre-prepared. We were offered chocolate brownie instead- we declined. I saw another table order ice cream and it was served in its tub in a bowl! To add insult to injury, they then expected us to pay a 12.5% service charge, automatically added to the bill. I would not recommend or return.

Fabulous experience, the food was exquisite. The staff from the barman who made the cocktails to the attentive and friendly waiting staff and finally to the chearful Chefs who presented a beautiful meal. Looking forward to returning to this hidden gem in the near future.

We visited the restaurant for our Wedding Anniversary. We were so lucky to be served by Gabriele, who is originally from Italy (where we got married). He went above and beyond to make our lunch special. His recommend food was delicious and warm hospitality created authentic experience. In the times when travelling is so restricted, we felt like we were teleported back to Italy. Thank you Gabriele!

Love this place... Amazing steaks and the best olives around... But tonight I asked the chef to recommend. James and Jerry both recommended the lamb shank... Amazing, melt in the mouth and full of flavour the accompaniments finished it off perfectly and it looked fantastic. My wife had the stonebass.. Also amazing and I couldn't fit in a pudding but she managed a panacotta. The service was excellent.. Had to cut dinner short as our 10week old wanted to get home to bed... But will definitely be back

First of all, I’ll say the other reviews here are really good - but mostly breakfast and dinner bookings so not sure if it’s something to do with lunch service.. We originally had this booked for dinner today and we had to move it because of the football. We moved this to 2pm. Firstly we was greeted by Gabriele who was really friendly. We sat down and he explained the menu etc. I was shocked to see they only do two rosé and neither was a Provence. Anyway, the lunch menu is significantly different to dinner. Only offering salad, pizza, sandwiches or burgers. All bread focused.. whereas dinner was steaks and fresh fish! No fish option on the lunch menu which is what I was coming for. My fault for not looking before arriving. Service is very weird.. one waitress spent the whole time standing with the chef.. we joked that they was obviously a couple and more interested in speaking to eachother than guests. The “manager” took ages to ask us what we wanted to drink. First drink arrived ok. After that, it was a struggle. Gabriele noticed we had been waiting ages and tried to serve us, but the manager came storming over and stopped him mid conversation and snatched him off of us. I’ve never seen anything like that, I was completely gobsmacked… NOT the kind of manners I expect from a manager of a Hilton restaurant, completely unprofessional. After that I wanted to leave and we began searching for another restaurant and couldn’t find one close enough with a table at that time. We ordered food after a long wait and 2 drinks. My boyfriends drink turned up, mine didn’t. I chased it… it still didn’t come. I had to chase again, considering all I ordered was a bottle of tonic water that all they do is get out the fridge - not acceptable. Being a completely open kitchen, during covid I feel like the chef should consider not having his mask under his chink and keeping on wiping his nose on his hand and not washing them continuously. Although he seemed nice and professional and his food was good, it was slightly off putting. When my food came, I asked for some ketchup but the manager had already ran away from the table and completely ignored me. I have quite a loud voice, I can’t imagine she couldn’t have heard me. After all, her colleague heard me saying very sarcastically “here’s your food, is there anything else I can get you? Any ketchup, mayonnaise. Oh yes that would be lovely thank you” as when he walked past I said - can I have some ketchup and he acknowledged he had overheard me complain from a couple of tables away. So you can’t tell me she didn’t hear me! When they arrived, they were individual Heinz pots. My boyfriend went to open his……. Only to find it had already been opened, was half empty and been used by someone else!!!!! Disgusting.. someone has actually been putting their food that has been in their mouth in that pot and they happily served it to us. Complete COVID 19 breach! After all the madness settled down.. Gabrielle came back and apologised several times. How could he notice the service was bad, when he had been banished away from the tables, yet the manager couldn’t see that when working the floor? Wish the manager hadn’t shoo’d Gabriele away as I think I would have been more happy if he served us.

We had a reservation at tonic and social for boozy brunch but sadly the booking was messed up however. Anthony a Williams was amazing and sorted it all out for us so we were able to still have our afternoon of food and drinks. He even then sorted a table for us in the sky bar for drinks after. Came for my best friend's pre wedding day lunch, after a little miscommunication Antony sorted us a lovely table in the restaurant with complimentary prosecco. Gabriele was incredibly attentive at the table and bought us everything we needed including a wonderful rose for the bride. He really bought a personal touch to the service. Mi esposa y yo cenamos aquí en septiembre. Pedimos bistecs y nos dijeron que podíamos comerlos a medio, cocidos o bien hechos. Esta fue la primera vez para nosotros. Nunca antes nos hemos limitado a dos opciones y esto fue un problema de inmediato, ya que me gusta el mío raro y a mi esposa le gusta el medio de ella. Ambos pedimos medio - raro y ambos vinieron bien hechos. Los bistecs eran tan duros que si hubiera pedido algo raro, no habría sido comestible. Tal como estaban las cosas, apenas era comestible, lo habría dicho si el personal se hubiera molestado en preguntar. No volveremos a comer aquí.

We went there on Saturday of the Bank holiday (29th August) and may I just say how pleasantly surprised we were!! We originally come from Cape Town, which is a foodie's paradise so we are quite picky and critical with resturants. We were served by Laura and from the onset she was just delightful. Seated on time and made excellent wine pairing recommendations. The starters were off the hook. All plates cleared and mains were even better. I recommend the beef cheek, roast chicken, lamb shank and the pork belly. All done to perfection. All in all just a great night out. Could not stop raving about it the next day

Special treat for my friends birthday but sadly meal was very poor far to much salt and my other friend meal was so spicy she we could not eat them. We had the meal taken off the bill but would much rather have enjoyed a good meal.Then charged £10.50 for service charge which should be The choice of the customer if they wish to leave a tip. I was very surprised that the restaurant did not have trac and trace in place in times like this.

The service was brilliant (very attentive) and the food equalled the service. They’re running a reduced menu, but don’t let this put you off. We had the lamb kofta’s for starters and they were cooked to perfection. The mains were equal in quality and a good size, pizza and mushroom risotto. To round of the meal we had new forest strawberry cheesecake, it was exceptional! On a side note they’re adhering to all Covid requirements, which makes you feel at ease throughout your meal. I’d highly recommend!

We didn't get seen to until 25 minutes after we got seated. Our food came before our drinks. Portion sizes are incredibly small, the food was tasty and very well presented but almost kid size portions. Luckily it was £10 off because had it not been charging that much for such small amounts is very sneaky. Trying to get someone's attention was near impossible despite there seaming to be many staff. 12.5% service charge gets added ... We didn't receive any service! Although we understand restaurants are busy during this scheme, we have eaten out at many other busy places who didn't seem to struggle in such a way. If you can't look after your diners don't book so many tables.

Visited this evening for dinner. Service was very good, all the waiters friendly and polite . Food was delicious. Watching the kitchen staff from the table - looked a good team system. Didn’t have dessert as was too full. Thought cost was pretty reasonable. Would recommend and revisit if in the area again.

Very attentive staff with at least 3 different waiters. Pleasant environment with lovely decor and air con was perfect.Menu shown on main page of website when booking was slightly different to the one used at service and a little deceiving. The one online has different prices, I found out you need to click again on the main menu to bring up the actual menus used and prices charged.One of the main meals was not hot enough and as the evening progressed it was evident that all waiters seemed in a hurry for us to finish up, even though there was no time limit on the booking.Did not feel that the bill was correct and that we had been overcharged but due to the rush at the end I left the bill on the table and was unable to check when i got home. It was an average experience and would have been an extra star if the above had not occurred.

I have been visiting this restaurant since it first opened and backed by Matt Tebbutt. We visited with friends recently to celebrate a special occasion. Our table was not ready for our pre booked time. Not all the draught beers were available. We were shown to our table, then had a long wait. Eventually a waiter approached to take our order, but we had not been given our menus yet. Another long wait. Menu had been reduced ( due to COVID-19 ) but only 4 starters and 6 mains, - 3 meat no fish but no side orders. Our choice of wine not available.When meals arrived, waiter insisted on placing each meal in one place between two of our party and then we had to distribute it, but when it came to collect the dishes, wanted us to repeat the process between 2 others of our party. This was madness to us. Safety is one thing but this made no sense and was not consistent. The standard of food was poor, no offer of condiments to compliment dishes. The final straw was when the manager came to clear the table and I voiced my disappointment with the meal and service, he repeatedly talked over me to the.extent that I had to ask him to stop and let me speak. I willingly give good feedback when the service is memorable, but I will also give just and constructive criticism when due.

We visited the Schpoons & Fork to celebrate a birthday while away on a family break Parking The restaurant didn’t provide on site parking but we found a car park only 2 minutes from the restaurant with very good rates.Service The waiter we had on the night was very smart, polite & helpfully, saying that the service it’s self was vert slow.Drinks On our 1st round of drinks we order, cider, gins and a soft drink.After waiting 15 minutes for out drinks, the waiter the came over to inform us that the cider & gins were sold out, adding another 10 minutes on to our wait for our drinks.FoodThe staters came over very quickly and they were well presented and very tasty.The waiter even managed to get some chips out at the same for my 2 year old who had woke up after eating had ordered. The main course sounded mouthwatering and they didn’t disappoint, the blade of beef dish being one of the best dishes I have eaten in a long time.Puddings there was not much to chose from on the menu but these also came out quick and were very nice.Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant and if we ever come back to Bournemouth we will definitely revisit this restaurant.

We visited the restaurant for our first dinner during our weekend at Bournemouth. We were immediately seated even without a reservation. Staff were very friendly and the food was superb! My favorite was the barbeque glazed pork with mash. Eveything was nice except towards the end, when we were about to have the dessert, the waiter took our order but it seemed to might have been lost somewhere as we had to wait for around 20 mins for the dessert to arrive. We called the waiter's attention again to follow-up on the order and the food was immediately served then. Nevertheless, food and service was excellent.

Before we turned up at the restaurant we decided to peruse the menu online to make it a bit easier when we got there. When we turned up somebody was already complaining at the desk in front of us so we waited at the entrance to be seen to. A guy came over and let us know that they were quite busy (there were about 7 tables of people) and that he would be with us soon... fine. 10 minutes passed and he came back over and showed us to our seats where we were given the run down of how we would be served, which was plates to be served at one side of the table and we then collect them once the waiter had moved. He then took our drinks order and scurried off. As we had already decided on food since we’d looked previous to our arrival, we noticed that the accompaniments of the spaghetti carbonara were missing from the menu in the restaurant so I checked online and it did say that it was served with french fries, aioli and something else so I kept it on my phone to ask when he came back over. We were just chatting and wondering where our drinks were before the waiting scurried back over and asked, ‘How can I help?’ as though he had forgotten that he’d even spoken to us at all, we both looked at one another confused and I asked him about the spaghetti accompaniments in which he replied that it was wrong and needed to be taken off of the online menu. Not really an excuse in my eyes as everybody knows how simple that sort of thing is to correct in 2020. He also told us that due to the current pandemic, they had been told as a restaurant, they were not to use the fryer and therefore couldn’t cook fries. This did actually annoy me slightly as it is a blatant lie; how on earth are fast food chains operating if fryers are disallowed in restaurants? Since we’d both decided on that course as a main we let him know that we were going to look over the menu once again. Since we were still waiting for our drinks around 15 minutes later, we decided to leave and didn’t actually even have a drink in the restaurant, let alone food due to the extremely abysmal service. I can safely say that neither of us shall be heading back.

We visited Schpoons and Forx last night and enjoyed another superb meal. For starters we had the chicken satay and the asparagus and roquette salad and for mains we had short rib of beef and haddock and cod chowder. All the food was delicious and well cooked. We ate with the Governments help to eat out scheme, however, we have had a bar meal here before. All meals were listed if they were vegan, vegetarian or gluten free which was good and useful. The staff were friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Thank you for a wonderful ‘date night’.

Hard to give a proper review as restaurants and diners are coming to terms with the Covid situation. We have now been to three restaurants since lockdown has been relaxed, difficult to know what the guidelines are but all three did it differently. So, starting with the positives, all staff wore masks, we were greeted, shown to our table then given clear instructions on how the service would be managed. Drinks left on a table and we collected our food from the open plan kitchen. All very odd, I imagine they thought it reduced movement, but instead of the staff moving around the diners were moving around past other diners, so not sure it was thought through fully.The decor was modern and inventive, a nod to spoons and forks, the food was very good, as others have said our deal included cocktails which they couldn't make but it was still good value. I will probably go again as there were more pluses than negatives,

Our first meal out since March was a bit apprehensive. This was a Travelzoo deal which was great value. Waiter explained all the safety they had put in place. A little disappointed that they had limited cocktails which was included in the deal. All a bit strange having to collect your drinks from a table. Then having to collect your food from the chef but all to be expected at this time.However food was amazing really enjoyed it.

Excellent... A* Service! A* Food! A* Location... I’m not really sure what else to say - the server was smart, articulate & polite. The chef was talkative, talented and clean. The venue was Sombre, clean & fancy. Overall the BEST restaurant experience I have EVER had. And it was in a hotel! Think of this as a restaurant and not a hotel restaurant because the food was incredible. Our mains were Braised Beef Rib & BBQ Pork Belly. No fault in either of them. We WILL be back. Thank you ❤️

Sorry to say that again we had issues here I had the burger which was burnt on the outside not just a little but burnt like eating coal however it was very pink in the middle. Not as bad as my friends that was raw in the middle as she requested another one.Disappointed again I'm afraid will not be returning for a 3rd time

This was our second visit to Schpoons & Forx and we had another enjoyable evening. The food was very good, tasty and perfectly cooked, and we were well looked after by the staff who made sure we had everything we needed. My favourite dish of the evening has to be the dessert, Honeycomb and Biscuits, which was fantastic and I could have easily eaten another. The restaurant is ideally located in the centre of Bournemouth near to car parks and bus routes so is very convenient to get to, and is well worth a visit.

Our first impressions were good, nice ambiance , comfortable seating, attractive decor. However we were shown to our table and left. Throughout the evening the service was slow and inattentive and yet the restaurant only had a few tables occupied.The food was pleasant and nicely presented, but vegetables were mostly extra.We had bought a travelzoo voucher which made the evening good value but we would not have been happy to pay the full amount.

The food is superb, we had both had a generous portion of the duck, we had ordered potato bits knowing we really didn't need them but they are too delicious to miss. The deserts are all wonderful and we know because we had the selection which arrived with 4 small (not too small) all off the main menu. The kitchen is open so gives a great atmosphere to the evening watching the food prep. We love the informal style of the place as some hotel restaurants can be stuffy. We even got to tell one of the chefs how much we enjoyed the food as we were leaving. We had a meal here a few weeks ago when the service had been below standard from the very busy waiters but last night they were most certainly back on game watched over by Simone the manager. We are looking forward to returning soon.

Visited this restaurant with a set price voucher. Staff extremely friendly and attentive. Food excellent and with a great menu, it was difficult to choose as all looked tempting. The premises were very pleasant and the open kitchen was interesting to see the chefs doing their thing. Quite noisy from the bar area during our visit, but it is in a busy hotel. Recommended.

Bournemouth is full of places to eat but somewhere you might not think of booking is Schpoons & Forx a restaurant nestled in the Hilton Hotel. A great seasonal menu created by Executive Chef Matt Budden, if you go in a group choose a selection of starters and share. My husband bought a deal from Elite Living for a two-course meal including cocktail and coffee at the Hilton Hotel's Schpoons & Forx restaurant. We'd not been there before so weren't expecting much but we were amazed at the delicious meal we were given and the friendly, helpful and hard-working staff who waited on us, especially Teresa the lovely young lady from Portugal who helped make our evening a great success. We're looking forward to returning in the near future.

You would have thought the restaurant had newly opened from what a shambles the service was!!! To begin with I booked a table online two weeks prior to the date then rang up the day before to confirm. At this point they told me they couldn’t find the booking, after a while on the phone they said they would rebook the table and took all my details. On arrival again the manager told me there was no booking, I showed my booking reference and explained that I had spoken to someone on the phone the day before. We stood for 10 mins with my other 6 guests for a while until the manager finally gave us a table and made us feel very awkward for it. I had said on the phone the day before that we had livingelite vouchers and would bring them on our smart phones as the voucher describes to do so however on arrival the manager told us we had to have them printed and that it was wrongly documented on the vouchers. I explained this was not our issue and that we would all still wish to use them! All 7 guests then had to email our vouchers to the managers email which was not what we expected to do at the start of a meal on arrival with everyone on their mobiles! It all carried on in this manor. As we were looking at the menus a waitress came over and said they didn’t have enough so we would have to share one between two! They explained a number of cocktails and meals that had ran out. We asked if we could have a few water jugs but they told us they only had three for the restaurant so we would just have to keep asking! They made the cocktails up wrongly then rather than remake just told us that the barman apologised that he had done them incorrectly. The steaks were burnt and we had to ask for the sauces that were suppose to accompany them in the first place! It just seemed there was one thing after another. They added a 12% tip onto the bill to which we paid half as we thought the service was shocking to which they were extremely disgruntled at! There were many issues in the restaurant service which were all then made to feel like the customers issue! Would not recommend!

Whilst the food was good, not great we had a nice evening. When it came to ordering coffees we waited over 15 minutes to catch someone’s eye. We then ordered a cappuccino & a black coffee with a shot of rum (as they didn’t have some of the popular spirits). We then waited over 30 minutes before the cappuccino arrived, then over 10 minutes more before a coffee with cream came! This was returned & eventually we got the correct coffee over an hour after we had finished our meal. If the restaurant had been busy we would have understood but when we attempted to order coffee there were only 4 tables occupied, by the time we got the first coffee only 2 were!

We were staying at the Hilton in Bournemouth, so decided to try out Schpoons & Forx, located on the ground floor. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent. We shared the chateaubriand for a main and it was cooked to our liking in the clay oven. Service was good and we were not rushed in finishing our bottle of wine (we had enjoyed good-sized starters, so there was no room for dessert). Highly recommended.

Came here for a friends birthday and from entering the restaurant the service from Laura and a gentleman whose name I sadly didn't get was second to none. The menu choices were carefully explained with great knowledge and both staff members were very attentive but never intrusive. Highly recommend this restaurant, 5* thoroughly deserved. Lunch with family, limited menu and bang average. I've eaten in many high end restaurants, including Michelin star ones and even they dont charge 7.50 for a bottle of water. If the meal was good this wouldn't be an issue but after a poor meal this grated a little... wouldn't visit again. A friend told me it was poor but thought I'd give it a ok. Our waitress could barely speak english which was a struggle. In the end another waitress had to take over. Matt tebbut needs to spend less time on TV and more time sorting this disaster out...

We travelled from London for or Xmas celebration and were bitterly disappointed with our experience. Our starters were nice enough then the main course debacle began. Having been recommended the Tomahawk steak 750g by out server we ordered 2 of them medium rare. We watched as one of the chefs set the steak alight in the tandoor oven causing the restaurant to be filled with black acrid smoke and trigger the fire-alarm. We were evacuated, I understand that for safety reasons. We joked outside "imagine if they served us that meat". To our horror that is exactly what happened. It was burnt very well done and as touch as old boots. We complained and then had to wait 50 minutes for the next one. In the meantime we were offered a drink by the embarrassed waiter and got a token apology from a different chef.

Had a meal with friends came earlier in the year and was not disappointed again was given complementary bowl of olives which were gorgeous. Hallomi stater with hand made flat bread and carrot houmus which was more spicy than expected but lovely bubble and squash was a dream meal so different but beautifully cooked and desert of a bounty type with passion fruit. One of the party had the pork chop which was so big he was so happy to be so full. We will be coming back very soon for another special occasion.

Went in for a mid week dinner for a work dinner. There was a slight mix up with our booking but the staff fixed it quickly and the service was very good. Our waitress Laura was very friendly and helpful. I had the duck, which was delicious and cooked perfectly! Have also been in for roast dinners in the past and the food is always to a high standard.

Our company is often staying at the hotel this restaurant is located in and we can’t get enough of it. Several meals we had, many people commented on how good the food was weeks later. The service is prompt and knowledgeable, the wine list and sommelier is great, the open kitchen adds a touch of drama (and you can literally see your food being made the whole way) and the meals are exceptional. If you find yourself in Bournemouth, either for work or vacation, this is one of the best to go to!

The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. I loved the setting and the ambience, and would thoroughly recommend it. We'll definitely be back!

My last review of this place said how amazing their cocktails were but that seems to be very much dependent on who is serving you! Last time I was here I encountered a great bartender who made excellent cocktails, this time when I went to the bar I was greeted with “would you like to try one of our Christmas cocktails?” It’s still only November but I thought if these were even half as good as the last ones I had then they’d be great.

I came here on Saturday for my birthday with my boyfriend and unfortunately we didn’t have the best experience. The restaurant setting was everything I wanted when choosing somewhere for my birthday. Everyone who served us throughout the evening was very friendly however we ordered our drinks before our meal but didn’t receive them until half way through our meal (after having asked where our drinks were 3 times and even had to reorder off the drinks menu) my dish was cold so I had to send back. My boyfriend had finished his meal way before I received a new hot dish so he was sat there waiting for me to finish so I felt rushed. Disaster birthday meal out! :(

They do lovely Burgers, big boss . And the chips are delicious. Had a takeaway today ordered from Uber eats. Burgers were good but bread seemed to be not that fresh. Still was good but I had much better results before.

I took my girlfriend out to Neo for her birthday, and it was a truly splendid experience. From the start, the service was professional and attentive, making us feel welcome. I had a passion fruit martini, and she had a lychee bloom—both were exceptional. We started with the cheese soufflé, which was light and flavorful, and then each enjoyed the surf and turf, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. To top it off, my girlfriend was surprised with a beautifully crafted birthday dessert plate. We were both blown away by Neo, from the service to the food and cocktails. It’s a must-visit in Bournemouth!
