The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Other european-cuisines food

Went to the hotel for a club meeting. Nice building, car park nearby, very central to town and open to non-residents - but watch what you buy at the bar! £3.40 for a bag of roasted peanuts? Ouch!

Attitude and professionalism of the manager was horrendous. Felt pushed aside and made to feel it was our fault that the booking was messed up. Manager was determined to find the fault on our end, barely communicating with us and ignoring anything we had to say. Moved to the mermaid and not once did he check up on us or make us feel welcomed. Considering we were a large group of 20, spending a lot of money, I expected a lot more respect. Food was also extremely below average for the price. Will not be back to these restaurants

We went to Bo peep for my nans wake. Service and food was lovely. Special thanks for Catherine on when hearing my nans favourite drink was a pornstar Martini done her best with the ingredients on hand to knock a few up for a special toast. Small touches like this make all the difference.

I came in for an afternoon beer. The staff was very very friendly. The bartender was very nice and I've been asked later bar another waiter if I like the beer because I was looking for an IPA that was excellent. Didn't have any food though.

It was a good old pub and lots of people were here. I had chicken with bacon, peas, and sweet potatoes. Kelly had fish n chips. Beer and ginger ale, of course. The fun part was the pringle chip machine. Too funny!!!

On arrival I asked if a table was available for two people, “ have you booked ?” I replied I would not be asking if you had a table available if I had booked. After the receptionist spent a considerable time searching through various screens on her desktop we were eventually shown to our table. Drinks orders duly taken and arrived shortly. We waited for our meal order to be taken and waited and waited eventually a young lady arrived and took our meal order and again this was delivered after a wait. The food was very tasty well presented and the staff very pleasant and polite but painfully slow, why ? During our meal there must have been at least 40 tables vacant during the time we were there so what was all the looking and searching for an available table for. No offer to see if more drinks were required and no offer of a sweet menu ( management due to lack of training are missing out here). On paying my bill a staff tip ie service charge of 7.5% was added and due to the poor service I declined. I assume the Bears Paw tip everyone who delivers to them or collects refuse or dray men I think not.

Had a lovely cooked meal tonight, but the place was very busy and very noisy we were a table of four and we couldn't hear what we were saying to each other due to the noise from other tables, the service was okay but not what we expected as the waitresses were not extentive and i would often have to ask for extra drinks, and the end of the night 10.10pm I asked for a drink to end the night celebrating with friend, but this never came so paid the bill and left, and they even asked for cash !!! Love the food but not the service ! They need to look after their customers as minehead is small place and people go where they are treated special.

Went in the late afternoon on a Wednesday and it was pretty quiet, just a few people in the outside area and a couple inside. The food was really good as was the pint of draught cider I had. There's a free carpark outside the entrance which is also a bonus!

They don’t reopen restaurant but took reservations. I made a reservation and have got a confirmation email. I arranged for my friend’s birthday there. Restaurant was closed when we got there. I was so embarrassed.... that was a terrible experience.Luckily Hutong (in the Shard) gave us a table by the window and we had a wonderful lunch. Staff were great there. Thank you Hutong!

This is the first visit to Back to the Garden in some time.Decided to give it another go.Had the soup which was a Thai sweet potato ( not sure on exact ingredients,but,neither was the waitress).It came with warm bread.The soup and bread were delicious.Very tasty.Also had a non alcoholic drink (can). The cost of this was a little over £12:00! I was shocked and when I got home I wondered if I had been wrongly charged.Won’t be rushing back at that price.

Reservation for Friday 23rd May @ 14:30 hrs x 1 person. Booking name: Price Regular traveller to Edinburgh. After reading a great newspaper article on the restaurant thought I had to give it a go ! First impressions.... Staff polite. Service not bad but not great either. It was very busy to be fair. Waiting staff appeared to be incapable of pouring either the bottle of still water provided or the carafe of wine I paid for into the glasses provided. Hmmm... Maybe I've got lucky everywhere else and it's just not standard practice after all. Paid £61.50 for a starter and main and two small glasses of McClaren Vale Shiraz. Rigatoni ragu with parmesan to start £12: Bland. Not much flavour. Not much food either. Grilled ox tongue and chips for main: A little better ? Meat not bad but not amazing. Sauce okay but no "wow". Not even a whiff of wow. Come on, at least get the sauce right! Greens good ! Here's an idea....Why not jettison the over cooked chips for a lovely block of dauphinoise ? Potentially tastier and a slightly more attractive offering ? ? Over charged for the wine.. £61.50 for what ? ? Thank God I wasn't charged for the water or bread. Not good enough by far. Ps. The one slice of bread was very good.
