Took 40 minutes to get 2 dishes and they forgot about our request for still water and brought tap water after we reminded them. Decent sized portions but the pasta didn’t seem very fresh - going to an Italian restaurant I would expect the pasta itself to be the highlight. The salmon risotto was watery and, apart from the over-salted salmon, pretty flavourless. The olives starter were garlicky to the point of being vinegary. The service itself was awkward - not mean just not friendly or warm. They didn’t come to the table nearly enough and when they did it was very perfunctory.

The service and smile is amazing here! Anna was our host - she was very accommodating as we had a party of vegan/vegetarians. The food was excellent and presented nicely. The ambience was quaint and made for a homely feel. If we return to Minehead again - definitely will go back.

Excellent food, great location.

Lovely atmosphere and good menu, Grilled Sea Bass was a little spoilt by an excessive amount of Olive Oil, the Garlic Chilli and Olive Oil Pasta could have been better if Linguine or Ribbon Pasta was used as the Spaghetti absorbed too much of the oil making it a bit too much. But all in all would go there again. Think they need to investigate in some sort of insect deterrent/control, as it was a warm evening they had the door open and numerous flys were a distraction and put my wife off her food when one landed in the dish and couldn’t take off again as it was stuck in the olive oil.

Staff were great and chef made us vegan pizzas which were delicious. Thanks.

We visited as a group of 3 and had a very nice meal. Portions are generous and very tasty. Service was good, staff were both polite and efficient. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully visited again.

Cash only. Fund out after part of my order was already on the table. Had to run home for cards to pick up cash from town. Food was good.. bit too pricey for Minehead.

Visited for the first time & really enjoyed the food. Everyone in our party was happy. The food did take quite some time to come out but I believe there wasn’t many in kitchen. Having said that, it was worth the wait. The salad was the best I’ve ever eaten! The pizzas looked delicious! Despite the wait I’d happily wait all over again for the food served! We did visit a Friday night so I guess that also speaks for the wait. Already we can’t wait to come back! I do wish a gluten free pizza was an available option. Food 10/10.

First time here since they moved premises and not overly impressed. Staff very friendly but not overly attentive, decor a bit messy, masking tape on the table was not very atmospheric, cutlery on one setting had to be replaced due to dried on food and the bench seating was uncomfortably sticky. The food was fine, certainly had worse elsewhere but perhaps a little expensive when balanced against portion size. The drinks menu is very poor on choice and the restaurant is cash only payment which may suggest other issues.

A really good night with some friends that I had not seen in a while . We were shooting at Dunster for 3 days .

It's a cash only place - unusual. Only serve wine and beer - no other spirits available. Food was nice.

FYI cash only. We arrived for early Saturday lunchtime. Food was good 👍 staff nice and toilets clean. A little tight on seating but we were able to move our table a bit to fit.

Stopped in for lunch on a whim. The food was outstanding, decent size portions and freshly cooked to order. Everything was packed with flavour and beautiful to look at. I'm a massive coffee fan and boy the coffee was easily the best I've ever had (if someone can tell me the brand they use and how it's prepared, I'd be very grateful). Will definitely visit again.

Although we booked 6weeks in advance for a double birthday celebration where it was agreed our tables would be ready and would be set up for our arrival they were not we walked in at 7.55 as tables were booked for 8pm no table was ready to receive then waited a further 55 mins for food even as pre ordered poor management got a free couple bottles of plonk! to make us feel better never will go again and would not recommend this 2nd rate joint owner didn’t come to see us

I had the lasagne and I'm sad to say it was precooked then micro waved as parts were boiling and other parts tepid, the pizza wasn't the best either smallish and a bit doughy ...but the service was very good.

Pizza was good but my wife had a very hot chilli in her seafood pasta which spoilt the meal

OMG! Booked 3 days in advance ordered meal didn't have husbands first choice should have been told when handed the menu. 40 mins after ordering still no food 20 other people who came after had finished their meals.Watier said he'd forgotten to place order.Another 40 mins later out comes bread no food waiter ignored us so got up and left.This was our last day on holiday really fuming.What has happened to service in this country.,had to wait an hour in another resteraunt previously!!!!! Will not be revisiting Minehead well not for food anyway.Thank god for Tesco bought a pizza DELICIOUS

Sorry but the food was very expensive and not at all value for money. They need to learn how to make Eton Mess, not a bit of cream in site. A bought meringue ring with a dollop of vanilla ice-cream and fruit coulis. My partner had perfittoroles, 2 came out!!. Both desserts came to £17. Won't be going there again even though the service was good.

Visited with family, I didn't think they were very accommodating. We couldn't have a large table, yet I'm sure they could have put some together. They ran out of drinks, they didn't have the starter we wanted, they don't have a choice of wine and they don't offer a children's menu. I wouldn't bother going there are better places to eat in Minehead.

I really trying to be fair here...but this restaurant is not italian....the food was not good I've served better at home...soggy pasta...fish half of a fish was expensive a rip off...I would never entertain going back..so they should do a lot better...italian cooking should be tasty pasta light...a real enjoyment it was none of these. .

We returned again to Fausto's when visiting from Lancashire. We are often disappointed when returning to a restaurant where we have had a wonderful experience before HOEWEVER this was not the case here. We were warmly welcomed by Anna and the team, were treated to a wonderful meal , the quality was excellent and portions generous and whilst I did manage to squeeze a delicious Eton mess! Fausto came out to meet and talk to his customers and we had a really wonderful evening. It will be our forever choice when we visit Minehead. Thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome and special!

We were left quite disappointed with our meals here. I had spaghetti bolognese which was OK but I've made tastier ones myself at home. My husband had chicken and mushroom in a cream sauce. He said that his was also only OK and the 'sauce' that was swimming around in the bottom of his bowl was more like a thin soup than a sauce. I also had a side of garlic bread which was the oddest I'd ever had. It didn't taste of garlic at all,was very greasy and burnt on the bottom. I saw some garlic bread going to the table next door and that was so over cooked that it was black on the top. Not somewhere we'd recommend.

Booked for a large group, although we needed to preorder the food, the service was really good and the staff very helpful. Just be aware they only take cash, debit and credit cards are not accepted

Found this gem of a restaurant on the last night of our mini break ? Outstanding pizzas with very generous toppings that tasted amazing. Excellent customer service from a friendly owner. Relaxed atmosphere with a peaceful ambience that makes it stand out from the crowd. Recommend a visit if you're in this area ! 👍 p.s. the olives are scrummy !!

Needed somewhere to eat in the evening. Fausto's is a small Italian restaurant, top of Minehead High Street. Decor not up to much, but we came here for the food and not the furniture. No tables free, but the Staff managed to squeeze the 4 of us in, for just over an hour. Food was very good, GF options available. Service was very good, also. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, to accommodate our requirements.

I couldn't really fault the restaurant, the food was excellent, garlic mushrooms to start, Sea Bass main with a side of garlic bread (which I couldn't finish). Busy, warm (a bit too warm), cosy, a little loud but accommodating and pleasant. I can't rate them higher, neither can I mark them down for the entitled young twits who came in, seated themselves and proceeded to have inappropriate, loud, conversations about bodily functions and their, shall we say 'unusual' bedroom activities. Drunk? Maybe, had it not been for them I'd have stayed for dessert and a coffee but I couldn't tolerate it any longer. I'm far from prudish but listening to that was beyond what I'd consider comfortable. There's a time and place for that, chaps and that wasn't it. All in all I would recommend Fausto's and would return again, hopefully sans the riffraff.

We went here for a meal on our last night of holiday. The restaurants was very clean and staff very friendly. The food was excellent. We would highly recommend and even though prices were maybe a little high it was totally worth it.

The food was lovely and clearly all cooked from fresh. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also very nice, the young waiting staff did a good job and the lady who I assume was the owner/manager came to check that everything was ok on more than one occasion. We would definitely visit again if we were back in Minehead.

If you are looking for authentic Italian cuisine, this is NOT the restaurant for you. Very disappointing starter which was all bought in panini bread, toasted with garlic butter put on top. Very expensive tomato and mozzarella salad. Pizza was a bought in base, small, uninspiring and very expensive for what it was. Very average food that is nothing like authentic, lots of other much better quality restaurants to choose from in the area, that are value for money. Will not be returning.

Terrible food. A total rip off. The pasta was probably from a supermarket and was mushy. I've never had such rubbish food.

Everything was OK , the service reasonable and one or two were friendly , the food was satisfactory , and the ambience very buzzy on a Friday night . The pricing was far too high for the house wine and main dishes - close to what i'd expect in London . Overall a reasonable dinner but the pricing will persuade me to try elsewhere when back in Minehead .

Had a lovely simple traditional Italian meal which could not be faulted. Tasty and delicious and a reasonably priced good quality red wine to wash it down. A warm welcome, polite service and a reasonable bill. What more can you ask for? Try it!

Let’s start with the positives: this is a welcoming venue which filled up very quickly on a week night and the front-of-house staff were polite and well-intentioned. We were advised, equally politely, when we made our reservation that they took only cash, not credit cards, so we made sure we were prepared. We were served promptly and the staff seemed to care whether we were happy. We had checked the website ahead of booking and looked through the menu. We thought the prices and selection looked reasonable so we booked. When we arrived, we discovered that the menu had not only altered, but that the prices were considerably higher than advertised. We appreciate these are very challenging times for hospitality but do think the management should keep their online details up to date. The food arrived in good time, as did our drinks order. The lasagne got a thumbs-up. The pizza was just about okay, but more closely resembled a reheated one than one freshly made, so not exactly what we expected. The other pasta dish ordered was barely touched by our guest, whom we suspect was too polite to comment. A small side-salad - mainly baby spinach, with some very dry croutons and a tiny amount of other salad ingredients - arrived. We asked for some dressing and were offered chilli oil. We explained we would like dressing for the salad, if possible. After checking back with the kitchen, our server, eager to please, reappeared with a jug of vinegar. We felt so sorry for him when we then asked, as politely as we could, if there might be some oil to go with the vinegar. Our server was lovely, patient and polite but we do feel that an expensive establishment such as this should offer basic training to its staff and check that they are familiar with things such as what, surely, is a fairly commonplace request for ‘dressing’ with salad, so that they aren’t put in such an embarrassing position. The bill, with drinks, for this really disappointing experience was considerably more than anticipated and we had to borrow additional cash from our guest to cover it. Upon paying, the person at the till handed over a vast amount of small change and, inexplicably, a receipt for just over six pounds from the Minehead Wimpy. Had two of our party not been vegetarian, we might have been better off going there, instead.

Fausto's the Restaurant is great , Fausto the Italian owner / Chef is the Best !

We booked Fausto's to be the highlight of our stay. We had been told that it was good and we like Italian style food. Thus we hoped for better than we got. A single disinterested member of staff front of house. The soft drink came warm without an offer of ice. When we later asked for a jug of water it came warm with a couple of bits of ice which immediately melted. Despite being assured that the salmon in the salmon pasta dish was standard salmon it tasted very odd and salty, the dish would not have been ordered if we had known this. The meatball pasta dish we also ordered was ok but nothing special. We ate what we could and left disappointed. There are better places to eat in Minehead.

Walking through Minehead to find somewhere to eat; everywhere bar Fausto’s seemed quiet. This place however was pretty packed and lots of tables were reserved. We thought therefore we’d give it a go! The menu was pretty standard and food took a while to arrive. That said, every thing was freshly made, tasty and piping hot. On a hot summer night it was a shame there are no outside tables but I’d go again!

Hard to give anything over three stars. We were told it was “cash only” with no explanation as to why. The food was bland, presentation was unimaginative and there is no justification for those prices. The pasta was clearly not fresh (happy to be proven wrong). I understand the cost of living crisis is effecting small town independent businesses, but it is effecting their customers just as bad. It seems like everyone has given up, table was sticky and the salt and pepper grinders were unapologetically Lidl branded, which is clearly where the rest of the ingredients were from also.

Not the best meal that we have had in Minehead. Quite expensive for the quality of the food. We had to remind the manager that we had ordered starters, after we saw another table that arrived 30 minutes after us being served. Our starter plates were taken away before we had all completely finished, because our mains were ready, which were served immediately. No recognisable pieces of Salmon in the Salmon pasta. The sauce being a bit mushy, probably because it was overcooked or reheated due to the earlier mistake. The restaurant had a very nice bubbly atmosphere but perhaps a bit too busy, including the serving of takeaways, for the staff to cope adequately.

I enjoyed the Salmone which I had a few years ago. It's like pasta penne but with pieces of salmon and a very creamy sauce. While I waited I admired a wooden tree with lights and baubles, there was a lovey atmosphere in the place...

Good feel to the place with all the nice lights etc. Really nice pizzas. But is on the pricy side for what you get. Good service as was busy but still fitted us in. Would go back again when in the area.

What a wonderful find this restaurant was! We visited as a family of four with one fussy teenager plus another with Coeliac disease. Eating out can be quite the challenge for us. Our visit was simply great. We were greeted by friendly, welcoming staff who went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied with our visit. The pasta dishes were delicious and out son loved his gluten free pasta option too. Super range of dishes available on the menu and at reasonable prices too. Thank you all for a wonderful evening. We would highly recommend dining at Fausto's. We certainly look forward to returning.

Had a lovely meal here a week or so ago. Not only was the food fantastic, the service was excellent as well. Would happily recommend this lovely little Italian Restaurant should you be visiting Minehead, or a local looking for somewhere to eat. Pricing was good, not overly expensive, and I'd consider it good value for money.

Visiting from Cardiff. Staying at nearby Wetherspoons. Didn't book,but seated anyway in near empty restaurant,which filled up rapidly. Staff brilliant,food outstanding,brilliant decor. Highly recommended.

Staying in Minehead for a few days. Had the pub grub and looking for something different. This place is amazing. Lovely decor all lit with fairy lights. Front of house lady couldn’t have made us more welcome. Food was absolutely delicious and house wine exceptionally...

Great atmosphere, great service and great food! One of the highlights of our holiday. Delicious, fresh pastas to choose from, the sea bass was particularly good and lovely desserts. Child/family friendly too and quirky interior. Highly recommend

We were greeted with friendly staff and has such amazing food here. We couldn't finish our mains, as the server recommended the Alpina Salad, which came with blue cheese and walnuts. It was amazing and got the reminder packed up in a takeaway to finish off later. Great food, great service, lovely atmosphere, quirky and yummy.
