We chose this Inn because it was approximately halfway on our drive south. It’s a beautiful old building with lots of wood panelling and flagstone floors. Very clean and clearly proudly run. Our room (7) was very clean, comfortable and quiet with a beautiful en suite, robes, toiletries and great shower. Also, a very deep bath - if that’s your thing. We had a very good dinner. All from-scratch cooking. The trout I had was perfectly cooked and delicious. My Husband had the beef and ale pie (a proper pie with a generous jug of good gravy on the side). The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Breakfast was good quality and generous. The only reasons The Bear’s Paw didn’t get a 5 were the breakfast poached eggs were well done and there was some peeling wallpaper just inside the bedroom door that drew the eye, detracted from the overall luxury. And would be oh so easy to fix. We did tell staff about it and they said it’d be addressed. Such a good experience and good value that we are staying again on our way home.

We arrived early and took a drink in the garden only for Ollie the assistant manager to come and tell us he’d fixed the room early for us…a great surprise and very thoughtful. We finished our drinks watching the world go by and headed to a superior room. A decent size with good en-suite, and although at the front, on the road, quiet and a good temperature. We had a pre dinner cocktail and were served by the wonderful Maddie who thoughtfully moved us away, as a couple, from two larger groups of tables. Maddie allowed us time, helped me choose my order when I requested a surprise and had the perfect measure of service and attention whilst balancing privacy and not intruding on our evening. A good nights sleep followed in a dark, quiet room. Breakfast had a wide selection of the usuals…cereals, juice, yoghurt, fruit followed by full English, salmon and poached eggs…with the welcome addition of some not so usual extras such as smoked haddock, it good breakfast finishing off a great stay. Big shout out to Ollie and Maddie, thank you so much!

Roast dinner looks really nice but unfortunately it was tasteless. The roast potatoes were awful they tasted stale and hard. The veg was also hard the gravy resembled something made from granules. Definitely no meat juices were used. I would recommend changing your potatoe supplier and or your chef. The sweets were lovely and helped safe the day. All staff were very nice and extremely helpful. It was a long way to travel for a disappointing meal.

Arrived at near empty venue, then tried to be fobbed off with worst tables, typical really, one up a corner, then one small one with hard chairs, finally we demanded something more comfortable. Meal itself was worst one ever had there, overcooked onion bhaji and too hot for a tikka masala. If we hadn't been hungry we'd have left sooner.

A GEM!! Food awesome Staff amazing Wide selection of drinks Hotel rooms - amazing!! A hidden gem in the Cheshire countryside - a small hamlet so you’re not going to get shops and bars but the pub/hotel was just brilliant. The staff were literally brilliant. Genuine and pleasant (sorry didn’t take their names) but they were a credit to the business. (Gentleman who checked us in and served us beer was exceptional) All round - worth a visit!! Food was hearty and very good quality so the chef runs a good ship their. Loads of parking, hotel rooms were modern and clean One request- plug next to bed please as we are all mobile phone junkies!!

We all arrived and had Sunday roasts for a family celebration. The beef Sunday roast had lots of meat and people were even asked if they wanted their beef well Cooked or pink. Another family Member had the pork roast which they said was nice. I had the vegetarian Sunday roast. The veggie Sunday roast was not value for money, in my view and was very disappointing . There was a small piece of something that tasted like stuffing. But the portions of accompanying vegetables on the veggie roast were small. The differential in price between the veggie (16.95) and meat roasts was also not justifiable. Atmosphere in pub is nice and service was friendly. Dogs are welcomed too.

We went for dinner on our Anniversary. We have been before and always enjoyed it. this time however we were seated near the bar, and it was rather noisy. The starter was ok, but something in it made my lips tigle so i didn't eat it all. I had the sea bass, but everything on the plate seemd to be the same colour, hard to identify what I was eating. The dessert was very good. I am a dog lover, and don't mind dogs in restauarants, but the two present that evening were rather vocal.

We never leave bad reviews, and this saddens me to do this as I've been in the industry but it's justified 😞 Food was over an hour late, we understand it gets busy we were ok with this, but, mine and my daughter's food arrived, husbands and sons went to the table next to us. 3 waitresses, one with an terrible attitude came to our table, no explanation as to what was going on and took my daughter's food away from her whilst she was eating. My husband had to ask what was going on to be told there has been a mix up and we don't know how long it will be until we have our meals. There was one lovely waitress that understood us, the rest were awful. The so called assistant manager put it down to being busy and that was it, nothing else was done, no communication with his guests. No reassurance they would look after us again. Even our 9 and 12 year old thought it was terrible after being hungry and food being taken away from them! Please do not visit here when it's busy unless the managers get actual experience on resolving issues! Over £100 later and a Saturday night wasted, so disappointing!

As a fine dining chef, my wife and I eat out a lot at “gastro” pubs, and I am very often feeling a little underwhelmed with the quality of food out there. We came here on Saturday for my birthday as a surprise from my wife. I can honestly say this place is a hidden gem! The pub itself feels very inviting and cosy, the menu is very well thought out and written, and the quality and presentation of the food was excellent. We both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here and will 100% be back soon. Thanks again!

A beautiful country pub that we regularly frequent. We visited yesterday, early evening, for a Sunday roast. It was a very disappointing experience. The roast potatoes were burned to a crisp and the Yorkshire Puddings were stone cold. I realise that we shouldn't have accepted the food but the last thing you want to do is make a fuss when you are on a family night out. However, I'm not accepting all of the blame. Food of this standard should never have been allowed to leave the kitchen.

We stayed for two nights at The Bears Paw, it was our first visit, and what appealed to me was the dog friendly availability at the hotel, this was an anniversary present for my husband. We stayed with our greyhound Freddie who was a hit with the members of staff and other guests. We stayed in an executive double which was the perfect size for the three of us, the hotel is located in a quaint village in Cheshire. The hotel was gorgeous and decorated beautifully. Breakfast and dinner was gorgeous, a nice selection of food on both the breakfast and dinner menus. The servers in the restaurant were extremely friendly and went above and beyond for us. Plenty of car parking at the back of the hotel. We would like to mention Charlie (lady with the glasses) she was so friendly and accommodating from the moment we checked in, Serlina on housekeeping was very sweet and provided us with two extra pilliows and Isobel who served us our dinner on Saturday night was so sweet and friendly. We would highly recommend this hotel for anyone that has a four legged member of the family. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for an amazing and peaceful stay.

We went here for Sunday lunch having had the place recommended to us. It was a pretty disappointing experience. Although the food was perfectly acceptable it was not a nice amptomere. Very loud with several children shouting and screaming. Further to this there were dogs everywhere. To such an extent that upon entering the restaurant you were welcomed by a doggy odour. However the most off putting aspect was the fact that the waiting staff were constanting petting the dogs between servicing people their meals. Very unhygienic.

I am spending more and more time at the Bears Paw. It has been a stand out venue and a favourite place to visit throughout my decade in the area. I am visiting more and more because I am really appreciating the characteristics and factors that make the Bears Paw really, really stand out. The location is gorgeous, the property is outstanding in character, spaciousness and ambience. The dog friendly nature is number 1 for any restaurant I have visited in the country. The drinks....weetwood ale from Chester, yes please. Extensive wine list....yes please. The food....two fish dishes in the menu as starters and two fish dishes as mains, this is aside from fish and chips. This also makes the BP stand out as most pubs will do fish and chips but not bespoke hake and sea bass dishes with clever balances and accompanying vegetables. Finally and most importantly, the staff. The professional, warm, kind, diligent and friendly team, you are the gel that binds everything together. Bravo to everyone at the Bears Paw, you make life better for everyone who has the privilege to enjoy your hospitality.

Came again for the first time this year. Friendly efficient staff, pleasant surrounding and was busy for Sunday lunch. Great bonus as dog friendly so our little pooch could join us (and enjoyed a sausage!). A bowl of honey chipolatas to start which we shared...

Dog friendly, amazing attentive staff, quality food.... Popped in for lunch today, every aspect of our meal was fantastic, couldn`t fault any element whatsoever! You should be proud of the food you served and cherish the staff you employ. See you soon, thank you.

Really enjoyed our meals. Catered well for both veggies and meat eaters. The dogs were allowed to come for lunch with us too, and the waiting staff were very friendly and welcoming. Will return!

Having been here before, it wasn't to bad. So we went again today Wednesday 28th June. There were only two young men, serving and cooking.and it was out of their control. Service was so slow. And the wait for food was disgusting and when we eventually got our food it was terrible. At least 3 others couples complained and walked out before they were servied thier food. 37 Pepper Street Nantwich really needs some help before it closes down

This is the final venue that me and my daughters have chosen for a review of their Full English Breakfast. We were not disappointed. Practically Perfect in every way. Well done everyone.

I recently visited Istanbule cafe and was thoroughly impressed. The food was amazing, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. The environment was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing meal or a casual hangout. Highly recommend!

I booked the room at Alderley Edge to host my 30th and my partners 40th. The staff there were incredible and helped make the day/night run so smoothly. I had so much help from Lucy to organise the night. It was the perfect party! Lots of parking space for guests. Food could accommodate all. Friendly staff working the bar. 5 star and would definitely recommend!

This was another visit to the fabulous cafe de Paris and it was NOT a disappointment, we, 3 sat outside and ordered our drinks and food, they were quite busy and told us that we may have to wait, which we were prepared to do. However, within a short time the food was served within about 7/8 minutes. All we can say the short time was worth it. We ordered Le Provençal along with Le Parisien with drinks. Unfortunately we didn’t take any photos which we usually take. The staff took their time to suggest what we might eat there next time we go there. Certainly worthy of a visit any time.
