Popped in after a walk and with the restaurant being very spacious, we were able to chose a well appointed table at the back. Lovely, bright and airy ambience. We both had the two course set meal for £15 and the food was interesting, tasty and very well cooked. The service was immaculate. Must return here soon.

The second visit here, and the second time that several of the popular items on the menu were not available making for very limited choices. We were only advised one item was no longer available 10 minutes after ordering it. Both visits were for tables booked at 8:30 on Saturdays - I would suggest not taking bookings at this time if kitchen stocks are regularly exhausted by then. Everything else was "on the edge". A side of sweet potato fries were on the edge of being burned and were very dark brown/black rather than yellow. Both mains were on the edge of being acceptably hot - closer to luke warm. Warm chocolate brownie was barely above fridge temperature. Service was prompt but perfunctory and there were no check-backs (else would have mentioned the above) Got the overall impression that by 8:30 everyone wanted to go home and any enthusiasm, thought and care that should have gone into the food and service had gone. If I were to visit again it would be no later than 7:30 - despite their website accepting bookings right up till 9pm.

We really enjoyed The Lime Tree. We chose the Goats cheese starter, and the King prawns. For mains we chose Steak, and Chicken peri peri. Sticky toffee pud to finish. Everything was excellent, couldn't fault it. Good service too. 👍

We had dinner at 17:30, so the atmosphere was a little quiet, but nothing to complain about. Excellent food and lovely service.

We had dinner at this restaurant on Saturday evening 27/7,just wanted to say we had a fantastic evening,the food was great,the service was also great and we had a great evening,it was so nice just to go out and eat and everything was perfect so thanks to all at The Lime Tree.

Visited for breakfast following a wedding reception the night before. Lovely staff, excellent food. A warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Really good high quality and well cooked classic contemporary food. Everything we had exceeded expectations. I just found that there wasn't any risky dishes or interesting flavour pairings on the menu.

Another outstanding experience. A belated wedding anniversary celebration for my wife and I, sponsored by my MiL. As always the quality and choice of food was exceptional. The service was attentive and helpful, without being distracting.

Eaten here a few times and always look forward to the next. So much so that our Xmas presents from the children were gift vouchers so we could eat at the Lime Tree. Wife had scallops and I had onion soup. Both excellent starters. Followed by chicken Sunday lunch and cheeseburger. Must say they do best cheeseburger around. Once again a great meal and still have a gift voucher left. Look forward to our return.

Called in tonight for a pre show meal, a beautiful experience. Tortilla and Humous starter was superb, the Lamb main and chicken main were perfection on a plate. The deserts are amazing, we sat in the sun and dined on a meal fit for a king, the venue was beautiful and the staff all welcoming and extremely friendly . Thank you guys, we Will definitely return

Best restaurant in Bollington by a long way. Never had a bad meal here. Highly recommend.

Really great food I highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Though I would say the best thing about The Lime Tree is that there is no music and therefore it's great for people who normally struggle in crowded and loud environments. The staff were attentive and professional and there were plenty of them which was great to see.

The best Eggs Royale - quality ingredients, cooked perfectly - and great staff, in a characterful converted shop overlooking Bollington Green.

Initially we were dissapointed that the online menu was different than the one on the night as we had already decided what to choose but we then ralised that the website menu was only a sample and that the daily menu changes dependant on what quality local ingrediant are available and very fresh. We made a very good selection and the food was excellent. We do not often do reviews but felt that the service was great and the food was very good

Enjoyed everything about this place. The food was delicious and great value. I had the vegetarian burger, one of the best I've ever had! The pavlova and apple crumble were fabulous. Loved the bright and airy room at the back. I would highly recommend The Lime Tree.

This turned out to be a great find for an early afternoon dinner on a visit to Bollington Village. Lovely food.

Excellent food served with a smile. The only downside is parking: unless you're lucky it may be a good walk to the nearest parking space.

We didn’t complain as did not want to spoil our evening. However a catch up the following weekend and we said the duck was tasteless and not melt in your mouth and the sauce also lacked taste. The sauce was as if from a packet!!! The fish was overcooked. Overpriced for this quality. It really felt like charging the high prices but quality slipping. Shame, as used to be a great place to eat. Costs going up for everyone but now very overpriced for this level of quality.

It’s my go-to place whenever I’m walking to Bollington. I just love the interior and the peace of this place that helps me re-discover my inner balance whenever I feel out of sorts. The food is nice and there are plenty of vegetarian options, which is always a bonus! X

I took my sister today for her birthday (21st Dec) not many places offered a variety of food other than a Christmas menu, which is understandable. It was a first time for both of us. We chose from the Christmas 3 course menu. There was such a nice choice and each course was delicious. The staff were lovely and very accommodating and welcoming. We can wait to go back.

Great place, beautifully done and delicious food - sadly let down by the two staff who were on the early shift - may be they don't do mornings :-I It won't put me off going again tho - the staff that came in later were lovely!

We chose the Lime Tree for our family get together this year after previous recommendations. Elizabeth and her staff did not let us down. We booked out the upstairs space for our party of 13 adults and 5 children. It was perfect - space for the children to play and a great area for dining. With the added bonus of a bar. The majority of our party had the slow cooked beef and two of us had sea bass. The food was served promptly and was delicious, as evidenced by the empty plates. I would say that it was the best sea bass I’ve tasted. The children’s menu was varied and the portions all round were generous. Thank you also for catering for our dairy and gluten intolerant great nephew. We chose a cheesecake dessert and that, also, was yummy. We didn’t feel rushed at all and the private space we had allowed the children to play without disturbing other diners. I would highly recommend the Lime Tree and look forward to our next visit in the restaurant.

OMG. Been here a few times and it's wonderful. Not a big menu in week but a very tasty one. I had a mac n cheese starter and it was incredible and so different. My wife had a celeriac soup and that was also so nice. The restaurant is good at soups, I've had a few and they are all good. Decided on a cheeseburger which was lovely as was my wife's salmon. Had to share a sweet but what a place, gets better everytime

A nice fine dining restaurant with absolutely delicious food. We visited the restaurant for lunch and it was an amazing experience. There are various options for both vegetarian and non vegetarians. The portions were really good. Above all we were welcomed and served by really warm and courteous staff. We would definitely recommend. Note: Visited the place in October 23

We came here for cocktails and it was beautiful. Staff were fabulous and gave us some free tortilla and dip which was so delicious.

The Lime Tree restaurant is a must-visit whenever I'm in Manchester. Their food is consistently fresh and bursting with flavor. Today, I savored their crispy chicken with mushrooms and a delightful sauce that left my taste buds delighted. And speaking of delights, you absolutely must try their sticky toffee pudding—it's genuinely the best I've ever had. Trust me, dessert at the Lime Tree is an experience you should never skip!

Hi Generally food is always excellent here - however this evening the Tuna steak hearalded as “seared” was not at all seared on the outside and arrived cold - rest of dish was generally tasty but chef needs to get a grip on main element and add the fish to a searing pan rather than waft it around some heat - no colour on one side at all and not seared anywhere at all - sorry Lime Tree standards slipping

Very cute place which was close to where we were staying for the night. So glad I chose this as the food was amazing. Great staff. Food came in a timely manner as was delicious!

We booked our babys first birthday party upstairs for 35 people. All was very last minute and I couldn’t fault the service and food from Elizabeth and her team. All the staff were extremely attentive, the food was absolutely beautiful we had the Spanish chicken and beef bourguignon. Was impressed the quality with the food for such a large group. Everyone had a fantastic time. Truely greatful for such a lovely afternoon. Cannot wait to return for more delicious food. Thank you Lime tree

We were on our holiday, and always go out for a meal on our last night. We found this place a few days before on a walk, and booked it. All we can say is what a wonderful experience it was all round! Excellent food, great service, lovely interior and good value. We both had 3 courses, 2 glasses of wine, 1 beer, and 2 coffees for £89.

Despite good reviews on here we were both disappointed with our experience in the Lime Tree restaurant. Pros: Excellent daycore. Good service. Good food menu selection. Good food presentation. Cons: Despite the good quality of Lamb for my main course there simply wasn't enough to eat especially given the price of £19 price. £10 for a glass of house of average quality was in my opinion to much money. Conclusion. We both left still hungry despite paying £60 bill for one course each & one glass of wine. Sadly unlikely to return.

Ok food. Crispy salad not that flavourful

Couples evening meal with a glass of red. We had not booked but were offered a lovely seat for 1.5 hrs. We shared a starter and both opted for the slow cooked beef which was outstanding. The salted caramel homemade ice cream is the best I have ever tasted.

Birthday meal with grown-up son. Superb food: we had a range of different dishes and everyone REALLY could not praise thme more highly. A lot of attention to detail. All prepared and presented immaculately. The Desserts in particular were a triumph and prefectly balanced. From Sticky Toff Pud to Cholate tart with salted caramel ice cream to a divine genrously sized apply and rhubarb crumble with home made custard. Service was pleasant and attentive if somewhat slow.... the consequence of being just behind most other tables. Good spacious ambience, reasonable cocktails and drinks. One doesn't mind waiting for food of this quality!

We had a nice meal at the Lime Tree on Sunday. The place had quite a few diners which gave it a lovely atmosphere. The service was good and the food was tasty although the pork belly crackling was covered in gravy and the gravy was very salty. I really enjoyed my elderflower gin fizz and the smoked salmon starter. The cheeseboard contained a nice mix of cheeses too.

Been a few time for lunch and breakfast but took friends for an evening meal. They were all impressed and said it was the best meal out they have had in a long time. The presentation is excellent and so tasty, everything was perfect. I particularly love the beetroot and cheese salad. We will be back and you have some new fans

I recently hosted my 40th Birthday gathering at the Lime Tree in Bollington. I booked their upstairs room which comfortably sat over 35 people, with an additional sitting area available too. The room itself had its own bar which allowed the guests to get their drinks upside so they didn't need to wander. After great communication with Elizabeth via email and telephone, a 2 course menu to my liking was designed (catering for vegetarians, vegans & FODMAP requirements) and we were able to preorder before the event to make the evening run smoothly. Everything was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. The staff, the food and drinks were all absolutely fabulous. I will definitely be going back and 100% recommend this restaurant for any special events people wish to celebrate.

A really enjoyable Lunch - good Staff & great Food - shared olive oil & balsamic vinegar with hummus & bread: a tasty terrine & fish cakes with sticky toffee pudding & vanilla ice cream & salted caramel & chocolate tart with vanilla ice cream.

Been here before and it never fails to please. The restaurant is lively inside, friendly polite staff and the food is superb. I had soup today as a starter and OMG it was so good I could have had another, it was superb and I have never had better. All the courses were superb and I am so glad we have the chance to go again as we have some gift vouchers. Look forward to the next time.

Been coming here for years now and never had a poor meal. Always fabulous quality ingredients, delicious flavours and great presentation. Service is very good and altogether can't recommend it enough! Came with some friends last night who had never been before and they were equally impressed! Thank you the Lime Tree!

Nice food and ambiance, but we found there was too much salt in some dishes.

Room was cold, menu was incorrect in part and my fish and chips was very average quality at a high price. A high street pub chain would have done it better. The sticky toffee pudding lacked individuality. Nothing wrong, just average quality at higher prices than justified.

Amazingly tasty food, great service & lovely atmosphere!

The food was decent but the atmosphere wasn't the greatest. The place can get incredibly crowded and is extremely loud with not breathing room. My partner and I couldn't hear each other even though we were sat opposite. The service was also slow. We had to wait 15 minutes just to get the menus. We spoke to other people in the restaurant who had to wait even longer.

Based on good reviews and photos we booked for our weekend away. We really liked the menu and would happily have chosen almost everything. We ordered a lamb main with salsa verde, greens and potato dauphinois. Whilst we were waiting, fish and beef dishes arrived at the next table and both looked really great. We were not disappointed with our lamb though and I had a fig frangipane tart with cinnamon ice cream , my husband had cheese. Cannot fault the food, only minor criticism was it would have been nice to have a bit of music and maybe lights dimmed for the evening with some tea lights on the tables but that is our preference and would certainly not stop us returning or recommending this place, well done to the chef and team.

So disappointed. After being given the menu to peruse while we had a drink was only told the lamb was off the menu when we ordered it..that's the 2nd time it has happened to us. We ordered the steak, swimming in peppercorn sauce plus a mushroom! Fries on the side which were out of a freezer bag. Maybe a roasted tomato and the option to order better sides would have been nice. Dont like to complain but for the cost it was very poor. We also had to wait 10mins at the bar before anyone appeared to serve us
